1. Mandatory Outside Video Surveillance at Service Stations Nationwide

Greggory Savelio, a senior at Westwood College, was on his way to work on August 22nd 2009 at approximately 5:30 pm when he stopped to pump gas in Dekalb County at the Chevron gas station located at 2450 Candler Road, Decatur, Georgia. A man approached Gregg in a robbery attempt and he was shot and killed. The gas station did not have any outside surveillance cameras so the perpetrator was able to flee the scene. The killer later committed the same act with another innocent victim at a different gas station, but was eventually caught because this location did have outside surveillance cameras on property.

The Chevron did not have outside video surveillance at the pumps where Gregg was robbed and shot, and we believe if there had been a camera in place this would have helped find Gregg’s killers immediately, and possibly even deterred Gregg’s killers from targeting him. One of Gregg’s killers was apprehended but unfortunately, due to the fact that he was not apprehended immediately he was able to flee and commit another robbery and murder another man less than a month later in Richmond County Georgia.

Gregg’s murder was committed in broad daylight and had there been outside surveillance (of quality nature) Gregg’s killers would have likely been identified and arrested immediately.

Noticeable outside video surveillance at gas pumps would deter criminals from targeting patrons, and in the event a crime is committed, the surveillance would help the investigation in apprehending the criminal(s).

2. Shadow The Hedgehog 2: Broken Memories

SEGA made Shadow the Hedgehog in in 2005 for PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

The game's story, Soundtrack and concept was a great success amongst Sonic gamers and casual gamers alike.

But sadly, the game had a few bugs, which made the game hated by hardcore gamers, and made fun out of it.

The story has ended in the first game, but we know, there IS a way to make the storyline continue.

3. Save MineCraft

The Minecraft Cause

I am doing a petition for Minecraft. I need you to help stop its creator, Markus Persson from quitting MineCraft, so I need all the help I can get for the better of video gaming and kids everywhere!

Minecraft isn't just a video game. It is an architectural game, and not as much of a video game once you think about it.

"I'm not playing video games. I'm practicing architecture", says my (awesome) brother, Sloan Snyder.

In Minecraft you can make castles in the sky, houses underwater, shoot yourself to the moon, fight off monsters, defend your terrirtory, and just have fun.

Play in "creative" mode and show off your creative skills! Play in "hardcore" mode where your difficulty level is stuck on hard and you only have one life. Try "survival of the fittest" or if you don't want to be called a "newbie", test yourself in the new world generation called "Super Flat"… nothing but bed rock (unpenetrable crust of the earth) with slimes (big squishy things that are really weird) everywhere. If you do that on "hardcore", survive, and make yourself a house, no one will ever call you a "newbie" again.

Please sign the petition to keep Minecraft alive, keep the players playing, and let more people know about Minecraft.

4. Allow Professional Videography on Public Lands

Small, independent film-makers are forced to pay the same fees as large production studios to film commercially on public lands.

Still Photographers are exempted from the fees, but with advancements in technology (Especially DSLR's), videographers and film makers are now using similar or identical equipment with no more impact than a still photographer. The fee is now necessitated at the flip of a switch.

5. Petition against Bill S.978

The bill states that you will not be allowed to stream or post any music or video game play on the Internet. That includes Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and any other major websites. There are many people who's jobs involve posting videos on YouTube. These people who work for gaming companies like Machinima.

If this bill were to pass, many people can lose their jobs. Another example is how some people can become famous by posting themselves on YouTube and singing songs. Many people may dislike Justin Beiber, but he still became famous and signed to a record deal by posting himself on YouTube singing songs by other artists.

6. Australian People Demand an Early Election

This Labor government is dead in the water. It has lost its way… yet again. Its incompetence and arrogance has led it to be effectively at war with Australia. Its call to class warfare and attempts to divide and conquer Australians in order to enforce incompetent policies have failed.

Citizens, businesses and whole industries are now in unprecedented open revolt against its insane carbon tax, its brainless spendthrift programs and disastrous refugee policies. Labor now trashes our economy and neighbours with one bizarre political quick fix after another. Worst of all, it has no idea how to regroup and get back to governing and has no answers other than to pathologically project all its failings onto Tony Abbott. It no longer listens to it’s citizens and we no longer listen to it. It is now incapable of learning, condemned to repeat their bungling from East Timor to Malaysia, from roof insulation to TV set top boxes.

For it’s own sake and that of Australia, Labor needs to be removed from government and be allowed to disassemble and be reborn again. After all, it is not in our interest for Labor to self-destruct – we need two healthy and vibrant, competing political parties.

9. Let it be Understood that the Film and Video Room is a STUDIO

Within the campus of Wimbledon College of Art, there is only one studio which is at all suitable for use as a film studio.

In recent years the college has seen a vast increase in the number of students wishing to create moving image work both on the specialised Print and Time-Based Media pathway as well as in Painting, Sculpture and the school of Theatre. However, this studio is constantly being given over to staff for meetings, presentations, tutorials and other such activities which are far more flexible in their mobility.

It is not necessary for these activities to take place in this studio and there are a range of far more suitable spaces in the college (e.g. the MEETINGS room). Time and time again students are being ousted from the 'specialist' film studio and having their projects ruined for the sake of staff-led activities.

This must change.

10. Support for: The Video Nasties Retrospective.

I, Tim Porter have been organizing an retrospective, dedicated to an important time period in Horror Cinema & British Film History. The Video Nasties (as they were named by the press) created a mass of moral outcry. These movies were released on a new technological device that could be used at home: The VHS Player.

Videos were un-certified and figures such as Mary Whitehouse and the Conservative government decided to draw up a list of titles to seize and prosecute these movies as they were deemed evil and repugnant. This caused a ripple effect with the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC), as similar films were heavily censored.

This retrospective focuses on the events of the 1980's. I plan to screen 16 of the so-called nasties. These screenings will include special guests ranging from film critics, filmmakers and academics. We plan to debate and discuss in a broad context the impact that this time period has made, whether the films were as harmful as first thought and a general discussion on censorship. We will also highlight recent films such as: A Serbian Film (2010) as a prime companion to the response from the media and censors about the film's content.

These screenings are proposed to go ahead at the University of Westminster: Harrow Campus. I am asking for your support as the university are hesitant about the event. This petition is to show the interest and a possible idea on audience numbers this event will attract.

12. Ben Brown APOLOGIZE to Jody McIntyre!

The BBC interviewed Jody McIntyre (disabled man) on Air about what happened to him in the recent student protests. Jody McIntyre was thrown off his wheelchair and dragged across the road. Video footage on youtube shows this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXNJ3MZ-AUo .

The Interview was very one sided and Ben Brown (the BBC journalist) as it looks tries to ask Jody Stupid questions about what happened trying to make Jody McIntyre look a fool. One of the questions that was asked to Jody McIntyre a number of times was if he was wheeling towards the police. Jody does well to keep calm and comeback with good objections. Well done Jody McIntyre we are right behind you!

13. We want Starfox Online

There is an issue that has concerned me for a long time – There hasn't been a “great” StarFox game since the Nintendo 64. I emphasize “great” because there were a couple of Gamecube StarFox games that were definitely less than adequate.

Gamers need a new StarFox that has online support and plays like the older StarFox games.

15. International Petition: Ban Crush Videos Globally

Crush videos, among other “fetish videos,” feature small live animals, such as kittens, puppies, mice and bunnies, being slowly tortured in the most horrific ways imaginable; including being burnt alive, cut with pruning sheers, nailed to the floor, skinned alive, beaten, stabbed, and having their limbs broken.

All of these videos share a common theme: the animals are incrementally crushed by a woman in high heels. Most people view these materials for “sexual gratification”, but these videos are becoming increasingly popular just for their shock value alone. The crush fetish can be also linked to “paraphernalia,” which is an atypical sexual arousal to nonhuman objects and humans alike being caused physical distress.

Crush videos are becoming increasingly popular all over the world, and will escalate to epidemic proportions, degrading our society if nothing is done to stop the sadistic killers perpetrating these acts.

It is not hard to find such sites on the Internet with any search engine. Minors can access these materials with a click of a button. Please first, examine the damage it causes both human and nonhuman lives, as well as society, on a global scale.

Freedom of speech has its limits when it places a society in danger, such as the ban on child pornography, as it is obvious violence against children. Films that exploit, torture, and kill animals for entertainment purposes also places society in danger, for it is destructive by inciting violent and antisocial behavior, thereby endangering our citizens. Adults showing their own children these videos can cause emotional damage and lead to severe mental disorders. This is not only child abuse, but is one of the leading factors resulting in those who become serial killers as adults. While there are many factors that contribute to the generation of a serial killer, the one constant they share is animal abuse.

In short, there is nothing socially redeeming about “crush videos” and animal torture videos when used for entertainment and financial purposes. However, relating to educational or for political and sociological purposes, there should be the exception – such as speaking against, or educating the public about the realities of said depictions of cruelty and how they affect a society.

17. Restore YouTube's Option to Turn Off Search Suggestions

Recently, whenever I search at YouTube, query suggestions pop up. At first I had the option to turn search suggestions off, but later on they are automatically enabled with absolutely no way of disabling them. Parent company Google has that option of disabling search suggestions, but only on its own website. YouTube is different. Some users there want to search videos their own way; when they see the suggestions box, sometimes they get distracted.

YouTube users are NOT morons. They have their own way of searching videos. Search suggestions should not be mandatory!

19. Stop Youtube from blocking videos

It is a kind of discrimination that in some countries many videos are unavailable due to Sony (or other's) content. It is so disturbing to read "This video is no longer available in your country."

What makes the difference if I'm American and am allowed to watch the video or if I want to watch the video in some other country (for example Germany)?

YouTube is a site where people can watch videos and as long as they don't hurt other people's rights, they should be available for everyone all over the world!

20. Don't Lose Amanda Palmer!

Oi, MTV! Play Amanda Palmer's Oasis vid on your channel! And you, too, NME! And Q! Don't be such babies!

Amanda sez:
my label in the UK has been gearing up to promote “oasis” as a radio and video single.
a few days before i left for london i got this email from someone at roadrunner:

”Hi Emily/Amanda,

Hope you are both well,
I just thought I’d let you know that we have been met by fierce opposition on the Oasis track.
Which is disheartening, as combined with the video, we all felt it was a great promotional tool and track.
All our TV outlets have refused to play the video due to it “making light of rape, religion and abortion”. This is the audio as well as visual.
Many of the stations like the track, and even the video but are bound by strict broadcasting rules. I personally find this quite ridiculous.”

dude.
wasn’t this the UK, land of black humor blacker than blackest black itself?

i emailed back and asked which outlets. the reply:

”NME tv, Scuzz, kerrang, MTV, Q, the box … to name a few. There is only a few networks: bauer, chartshow and MTV. They control all stations and they all had the same issue….”

and i sat there thinking, wow. here we go again.
why can’t ANYTHING just be effing EASY this year?

it isn’t a simple issue, obviously. but the fundamentals seem clear to me.

i sat down one day in or around 2002 and wrote a tongue-in-cheek, ironic up-tempo pop song.
a song about a girl who got drunk, was date raped, and had an abortion.
she sings about these things lightly and joyfully and says that she doesn’t care that these things have happened to her because oasis, (her favorite band) has sent her an autographed photo in the mail. and to make things even better (!!), her bitchy friend melissa, who told the whole school about the abortion, is really jealous.

....if you cannot sense the irony in this song, you’re about two intelligence points above a kumquat."

21. Support Football Video Referees

This petition is a response to the injustice felt by the lifeblood of football, the people who support their club/nation, the people who sustain an industry with their tireless support, the people who own the game, the football fans.

We are seeking to eliminate the cheating which is blatantly obvious to the majority of people watching the game, but all too often goes unnoticed and unpunished by the referee and their assistants.

“Winning is without value if victory has been achieved unfairly or dishonestly”. This is an extract from the Fair Play Golden Rules, and does not seem to tally up with many examples of victories achieved unfairly and dishonestly such as; Thierry Henry handling the ball and leading to a goal which ultimately stopped the Republic of Ireland reaching the world cup - Rivaldo’s play acting which lead to the sending off of Hakan Unsal and a winning penalty scored by Rivaldo, and Ultimately winning the World Cup – Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ which knocked out England and ultimately led to Argentina winning the World Cup.

Surely a great deal of value was gained by France, Brazil and Argentina in the above instances of unfairness and dishonesty.

Players have a duty towards their own country/club and therefore can only be expected to do everything they can to win. If the option is there for them to make a split second decision to cheat in order to gain an advantage, it is inevitable that they will take the chance.

Something must be done to both deter and correct this.

22. Celtic fans Petition to the SFA

The Celtic supporters who have signed this petition are behind the SFA's initiative and call for Scottish Football’s governing body to act with clarity and consistently in order to keep the integrity of our game intact.
