1. Help support networks to help children and parents through loss and reunification
Children taken into care; parents are totally a loss no support no were to turn no way forward; children in care emotional abused from being away from loving mother or parents guardian whom they have known for years after years of loss they then reunite but they are damaged;
Where's the support to keep the family together so there's love and support children change more so as research shows children in care are more likely to go to prison and cause ASBO parents turn to drugs the family are again apart this is for them to turn to a group a unit something like victim support, group counselling, women, something to help stable families so children don't end up back in care or on the streets.
2. Alleviate Pollution and Poverty in Delhi
There is a government body called Delhi Pollution control committee existing in Delhi called DPCC basically established for controlling pollution in this national capital region (DELHI). I being an environment friendly citizen applied for a unit in prime industrial area of New Delhi only after installing and successfully running the required systems for controlling pollution and treatment of Water.
Inspite of giving all possible proofs to the department they made our consent application a big issue and keep on demanding huge amount of money from us which due to no other option we keet on giving them the amount whenever demanded from them. Since I had refused them bribe when they had their first visit after the application, they were exploiting us all the time. In the mean time they were providing consents to the people which were not having systems for controlling pollution installed at their polluting units at a nominal bribe of 12000 This procedure of providing consent to operate polluting manufacturing units after getting bribe and not installing pollution control measures is till today's date ie.27-06-2008 is kept on followed. I complained this matter to CVC (Central Vigilance Commission ) and CBI but of no use.
The member secretary Mrs. Naini Jayaseelan whose office is in secretariat building was continuously abusing me with words I have never heard. She even was torturing me of what kind of science graduation I have attained in front of excise commissioner and then deputy commissioner of DPCC Mrs. Debashree Mukherjee. She was agreeing sometimes and abusing me and my family other time.
Prior to January 1, 2007, Garden Ridge and some of the other units were operating Monday through Friday and weekend working schedules. The Units were operating with less staff, salaries were less and overtime for pay for staff was limited.
As regard to weekend staff, staff was able to provide more community activities for the residents and because of these activities residents were contented.
At the present time, as a result of changing to patterns, excessive overtime for pay is prevailing, more employees are quitting their positions, absenteeism now exists and in due time all this will directly affect the residents.
4. Stop interference from the railway noise
Due to a sound assessment done 17 years ago, many of the units in our co-op do not have central air conditioning.
Residents of these units are able to hear the increased noise of the trains at night and during the day, especially with the windows open.
The sound of the trains, particularly at night, has been greatly increased with the construction of a third railroad track beside the existing lines and is expected to increase more so as trains begin to run regularly on these lines.
By adding a new third track to the main rail line, the Government of Ontario expects to increase rush hour service along these lines to Hamilton so they won't conflict with the freight train traffic, therefore freeing up all three lines to be used at the same time and thus increasing freight, VIA rail and Go Transit traffic in our community.
5. North Stonington Residents Against Zone/Regulation Change for Garden Court
Garden Court, LLC has submitted a Zone regulation change to build a complex of 408 one and two bedroom units in 17, four story residential buildings. Each building will house 24 units.
The location on Boombridge Rd., will not be able to handle the traffic that will be generated as it is a small, narrow, winding country road and to add an additional 400+ cars per day would make the road a hazardous one. The Lewis Farm constantly has farm equipment and often has the cows or bulls in the road moving them to different fields.
The farms have gotten tax breaks to keep the town rural and this would be located right near Lewis farm. This would take away from the historical farm and pose a hazard to the farm animals.
The additional polution created be automobile emmissions would also be unhealthy for the farm animals. People drive fast now down Boombridge (which is 35) an additional increase in travel would make this country road into a small highway.
6. Improve Conditions in Toronto Public Housing
Conditions in Toronto's public housing have been deterioating for years. In fact the worst landlord in the city is now the Toronto Community Housing Corp which oversees 58,000 housing units.
Many of these units have fallen into such disrepair that people live in unhealthy and unsafe conditions. We wouldn't let prisoners live this way, why should human beings.
All levels of governement are passing the buck, its time for us all to do our part.
7. Another Trash Compactor Needed for Savannah Palms Apartments
Savannah Palms has one trash compactor for the apartment complex of about 200 or more units.
The complex wants to fine residents $50.00 if trash is not properly disposed but there is only so much room in that compactor to fit 200 or more units worth of trash.
8. Remove condominiums from Cottage Grove Ave development plan
March 22, 2006
M.E.N.D., L.L.C. has requested rezoning from "R-2" to "R-4: Multiple Residential District located in the 1500 Block of Cottage Grove Avenue for development of eight 8-unit condos in addition to single-family homes.
The Planning, Programming and Zoning Commission held a meeting on March 7, 2006 at second floor of city hall, where it was requested to rezone this area to "R3-RP", and changed the number of condominium units to seven.
9. Removal of No Parking Signs on Woodhaven
January 26, 2006
This petition is here to remove the no parking signs on Woodhaven Circle.
The reason for this petition is in response to the amount of parking currently available. There is hardly a sufficient amount of parking spaces for the number of tenants that reside in the Jacob Heights Townhouse Development. This parking issue causes a number of problems for the tenants that live in the Jacob Heights Townhouses along with residents of Mankato that don't live there.
The first problem created from these no parking signs is resident parking. The problem arises due to the fact that there are four tenants living in each unit in Jacob Heights. There is no possible parking configuration utilizing the garage and driveway that will allow any single tenant to leave at anytime. This is the first reason why parking on Woodhaven is requested. A lot of the residents living here are college students.
Everyone has busy class and work schedules and being blocked in your driveway by a roommate not home is not a valid excuse for a professor or employer. The second major problem created from the no parking signs on Woodhaven is in regards to visitors and guests. If all tenants are home there are no available parking spots nearby for guests. This makes is very difficult to meet with friends, family, coworkers, and classmates in the Jacob Heights Development.
There are currently 42 units in the Jacob Heights Townhouse Development. There is also an additional 24 units under construction. This means that the current problem is only going to get worse unless the city of Mankato does something about it. Enclosed is a list of Mankato residents who all agree with the complaints stated above. The residents of Mankato demand action. There are obviously plenty of solutions to the current dilemma.
If authorized parking signs are required for the public street of Woodhaven Circle then possibly permit only signs could replace the no parking signs. Another solution is to build another public parking lot across from the Jacob Heights Townhouses.
10. Save Our Special Needs Units in Somerset
January 24, 2006
The special needs centres at Court Fields Community School in Wellington and Kingsmead School in Wiveliscombe are to be axed.
Somerset County Council's executive board made the decision to close the two centres along with the special educational needs resource bases at Ruishton School in Taunton and three more at schools in West Somerset. They will shut down in 2008.
The aim of this petition is to save The special needs units for these very special children.
Shirley Matheny and Annette Beckman sent a letter off to Orrin Hatch concerning smoke-free units in the HUD housing located in Price, UT. They received a response from him dated August 16th, in which he sent a copy of the letter he'd sent to Mr. Dwight A. Peterson. Mr. Peterson is the State Coordinator for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
We have yet to hear back from him concerning this serious issue.
12. Ourt rights as US citizens to choose our own communication network!
When residents moved into the community, all kinds of documents were signed (ie.e no drugs will be used in the unit, and documents, the rental office having access to the units at all times). We were not notified, nor signed documents that stated that Star Power was the only communication network that we could get in our units, due to the owner of the community's buget plan until we were in our units.
We as residents that pay market rate rent, are requesting that other options be avalible to us by law to have the right to choose, as residents of Doglas Knoll Apt. community and citizins of the United States of America.
