DO YOU AGREE?

SIGN UP AND BE PART OF THIS CITIZENS’ CAMPAIGN

Do you support the MSJ’s position that the People’s Partnership has failed to keep its Manifesto promises to bring about new governance and turned its back on the Fyzabad Declaration as demonstrated by:

• Corruption in many state enterprises;

• Discrimination, nepotism and the rewarding of friends, family and favoured party supporters;

• The unfair distribution of national resources;

• Political interference in the public services, commissions and state enterprises;

• Disrespect for labour, farmers and other small producers and business-people;

• Absence of dialogue, participation and consensus-building thus leading to greater mistrust and division throughout the country.

• No progress in constitutional reform; while local government is being further weakened.

3. Trinidadians against unilateral declaration of Palestinian State at the United Nations

In September 2011, the Palestinian Authority - which has recently merged and reconciled with the terrorist group, Hamas - plans to seek unilateral recognition of a Palestinian State based on the 1949 Armistice Lines at the United Nations.

Such a unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood based on these borders will render Israel defenseless against the possibility of future conflicts with its Arab neighbors. Additionally, such a declaration of statehood and possible recognition by the United Nations will contradict the Oslo Accords, to which both Israel and the Palestinian Authority are bound.

The only way to establish a durable, secure peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority - and thus be the basis for the legitimate formation of a Palestinian State - is through direct bilateral negotiations between the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian Authority; where the issues of finalized borders, the recognition of Israel as the Jewish State, security, Palestinian refugees and the status of Jerusalem will be resolved.

To ignore the peace process and unilaterally declare a Palestinian State would prolong the conflict and exacerbate and lend credence to hostilities.

Currently, Israel is seeking support from countries around the world to support the peace process and stop this ghastly resolution from being passed. Trinidad & Tobago has never taken an official position on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and has historically abstained from voting in any resolution at the United Nations General Assembly regarding this issue. However, with the new Peoples Partnership government in power, it is unclear whether Trinidad & Tobago will continue in this tradition, and so, this petition was started so that the foreign policy of abstaining will continue - or, if need be, Trinidad & Tobago should take the moral high-road and vote against any resolution at the United Nations General Assembly which recognizes the unilateral establishment of a Palestinian state outside of the peace process and negotiations.

Please note: This petition is not against the formation of a Palestinian state; rather, it is against the formation of a Palestinian state founded outside of the legally-binding peace process and outside of direct negotiations.

4. No Property Tax Increase in Trinidad & Tobago

In her 2010 budget presentation, the Finance Minister the Honorable Karen Nunez Tesheira proposed a review in the chargeable rate of property tax on every private and commercial property in Trinidad & Tobago. The budget has since been passed.

With all the hardships already faced by citizens within Trinidad & Tobago, many citizens are now faced with the reality that that they cannot afford this increase. This increase is deemed to be ill conceived, callous and of no real benefit to the population at large.

After all the taxes that we already pay, we the population get little returns in terms of social services, infrastructure and public utilities.

This tax increase is just another way of depending on the citizens to fund big projects that do not benefit the population at large!

While we expect the Government to seek ways to raise revenue, seeking to punish property owners for having dreams of one day owning their own property surely is not the way!

5. Call for election in Trinidad and Tobago NOW!

On 31st August, 1962, Dr. Eric Eustase Williams brought Indepence for our country from the British Empire and formed the People's National Movement to bring democracy in politics in the country and everything became wonderful for the people.

Today, he might as well be still spinning in his grave, because, after 46 years, our country is in turmoil. crime has escalated, the economy is going down the drain and our conditions have not improved.

Our country cannot wait much longer for things to improve. The people of Trinidad and Tobago should take this vote of no confidence as a cue to call for another fresh elections so they will vote for a better political party that will deliver us for the pain and suffering already inflicted on us.

6. Bring GameTap to Trinidad and Tobago and other countries

Finally, a gaming alternative has arrived on the Internet where anyone can find their favourite console and PCs games and play them on their computer and online. The only problem is: It's only available to users in the united States and Canada.

Does it ever occur to you that when you put GameTap on the Internet, everyone around the world using it will want to play? Where is your determination for bringing games to the masses and your foresight in this franchaise?

Not only should you bring it to other countries, but you should make a bulletin board detailing all the respective release dates and other vital information so we, the Internet community as a whole can play games just as much as the U.S.A. and Canada.

7. Calling for resignation of TTFF executive & severing of ties with Jack Warner

From way before the days of the Stike Squad the present croonies who are in charge of Trinidad football have been using the name of our football for their own financial gain.

This came in the spotlight in 1989 when, on review, it was found that Mr Jack Warner, Oliver Camps and his boys illegally oversold tickets to what would still today rank as one of the biggest moments in Trinidad and Tobago football.

Instead of being disposed of, these same crooks have been left to rape our players and our fans for 17 more years. Same band, having recently defrauded our players of their promised rewards, are threatening to replace our NATIONAL HEROES with a group of players unworthy to even represent us at U20 level.

Our dreams of reaching 2010 world cup are dashed because of the greedy few, and the two headed serpent - special advisor/ TTFF, who reneg on financial obligations having completed their theft.

We the fans feel hopeless under the brutal savagery inflicted upon us by OUR representative organisation, which definitely does not represent our view or best interest.

We beg the powers that be to remove these corrupt members from our representative organisation , or have the name of our beautiful country removed from their name for they certainly do not represent us.
