4. Prioritise repairing the toilets at London Met Uni

Many toilets around the university are in very poor condition. UNISON (supported by UCU and the Students' Union) have written to VC, Malcolm Gillies, to ask that they prioritize fixing them:

"Faced with broken, run-down toilets, our students will instantly perceive the University to be in a sorry state. It is a bad sign when there are toilets in the university that some students will not use. We are writing this letter to ask you to make sure that both staff and students are given the facilities they deserve – repair the broken toilets, replace the broken flooring and then maintain them to a high standard as a matter of urgency."

See the full letter text here: http://www.londonmetunison.org.uk/

Pleas sign the petition to show your support and pass this on to all staff and students at London Met.

5. Keep Our Paddling Pool Toilets Open

Rhso on sea is a small village on the North Wales coast. We rely heavily on the tourist trade. The council are prosing to offer the toilets to a private individual to run as a burger kiosk and toilets. However if nobody comes forward then they will be demolished.

Families come to the paddling pool all through the summer months. They pack up a picnic and stay for the day. With no public conveniences this would not be possible.

7. Make RADAR keys only available to disabled people

Disabled people NEED disabled toilets. We do not ask to be disabled.

We are forever seeing NON disabled people use our facility. We feel this is unfair, as NON disabled people have a choice when wanting to use a public toilet.

Disabled people do NOT have a choice in this matter.

8. Clean up Pinelawn Police Department

Pinelawn police depart has a history of being filthy. Rodents and bugs share the cells with the visitors. Toilets are never cleaned and there is no hand soap to prevent diseases.

There are not enough cell bunk beds there for the number of visitors, so you are made to sleep on the floor with filth that has been building up over the years.

Males and females have to share restrooms and females have special needs monthly.

Most importantly, if an officer id not in a good mood you may not be able to take your medicine or get the proper medical attention needed.

9. Stop Cruise Ship Pollution

Pollution from cruise ships is a growing problem. Cruise ships generate an astonishing amount of pollution, up to 25,000 gallons of sewage from toilets and 143,000 gallons of sewage from sinks, galleys and showers each day.

Currently, lax state and federal anti-pollution laws allow cruise ships to dump untreated sewage from sinks and showers and inadequately treated sewage from toilets in state waters. And untreated sewage from toilets once the ships is three miles from shore.

This puts our coastal environment at risk from the threats of bacteria, pathogens and heavy metals generated in these waste streams.
