32. U2.com members' protest

*Please list your E-Mail address that you registered with U2.com for contact purposes*

We the members of U2.com protest the recent treatment in the distribution of tickets. As part of membership to the website, we were given the promise of access to tickets to your show. This promise of access fell far short. Not enough tickets were allotted to U2.com members, while more than enough were allotted to ticket brokers.

We believe that U2 and U2.com should make amends to the membership by either providing an additional presale for members, with enough tickets for all, or by refunding the $40 to each and every member who was unable to benefit from the presale.

All who agree should respond to this positing and sign on. Enough responders might actually send a message.

34. Stop online auction sites being used to "tout" concert tickets

Ebay is starting to be used to sell tickets to concerts bought by touts on credit cards and then sold on via ebay at inflated prices, stopping real fans seeing bands they wish. Whether just ebay is at fault here though, I am not sure.

I feel it is also up to companies such as Ticketmaster to do more to stop re-sale of tickets. This is starting to become a major issue (it was covered this week in New Musical Express)and I think this could be a way of making ebay and the promoters consider the ramifications of easy re-sale.

35. Add Another Clay Aiken Show at Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City

This Petition is for the many people who did not get a chance to purchase tickets for the Clay Aiken show at Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City because they were sold out so fast. Many of the people who purchased tickets purchased them for both of the shows so there were not many left for people who just wanted to go to one show.

What we're asking is for a 3rd Clay Aiken show at Caesar's. This show doesn't have to be the same weekend as the other 2 shows at Caesar's. Please give us claymates another chance to get tickets to see our favorite performer at Caesar's Palace, and just think of all the claymates you will be making happy. Thank you.

36. Establish Parallel Parking Spots at UAHS

For many years, those students at Upper Arlington High School that lack the privilege of owning a parking spot have been faced with the plight of parking on the street. There are too many student-drivers to fit everyone within the two blocks next to the high school, especially when the vast majority of these drivers park four or five feet from the next car, wasting valuable space.

We - the students, faculty, and surrounding residents of Upper Arlington High School - wish to end this lack of organization before we start into the new-year. There would be no better way to start 2004 than by lowering the rate that students are tardy, unblocking the resident's driveways, cutting the number of parking tickets, and stopping all parking in apartment visitor spots.

With your permission, we wish to better this city's high school by painting parallel parking spots down both sides of Brandon and Mt. Holyoke Roads, similar to those flanking Northam Park on Ridgeview and Northam Roads.

37. Please Jimmy Buffett - Help your Fans

Dear Mr. Buffett,

We, your fans, are asking for your help. The problem is the difficulty that your true fans have had in getting tickets to your concerts. Many fans stand in line for hours or spend hours on the phone and end up with no tickets. Ticket agents are able to get plenty of tickets before they even go on sale, yet we as your fans are not able to get tickets unless we pay the scalpers prices which range from $140-$600 for tickets with a face value of $60. Not to mention the orchestra and floor seats that scalpers sell for around $1500.

We realize that this problem is due in part to Ticketmaster. The only solution we have come up
with is to try and protest the actions of Ticketmaster by not buying any tickets from them. However, that would also mean we would never be able to see you and hear you in concert. We would like for you to look into trying to find a way to ensure that your fans are taken care of. We realize that this is a big undertaking, but some other performers have already tried different ways of doing this, so we know that it is possible to make a difference.

We ask that you please try to help you fans who have stuck with you through the
years and are now finding it difficult to pay $140.00 per ticket or face the thought of not spending our summers with you. We ask for you help for ourselves but also point out the fact that you are not seeing any of the money that the scalpers (ticket agents) are making on your name, talent and popularity. Taking some of the power away from Ticketmaster and the ticket agents will not only benefit your fans, it will benefit you.
