1. Get rid of the points and levels system on yahoo answers
The points and levels system on yahoo answers is not necessary and it causes nothing but trouble. It causes chaos! It has a high range in which it takes A LOT of work to get your full rights.
It even limits some of the rights that you do have! I got an answer that said "thanks for the two points!'. They answered just to get points and didn't even answer the question! Here is the link that shows you the system: http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system;_ylt=AjtxrNrLoJ6raGPmmJPBAizj1KIX;_ylv=3
We must ABOLISH it!
2. Alleviate Pollution and Poverty in Delhi
There is a government body called Delhi Pollution control committee existing in Delhi called DPCC basically established for controlling pollution in this national capital region (DELHI). I being an environment friendly citizen applied for a unit in prime industrial area of New Delhi only after installing and successfully running the required systems for controlling pollution and treatment of Water.
Inspite of giving all possible proofs to the department they made our consent application a big issue and keep on demanding huge amount of money from us which due to no other option we keet on giving them the amount whenever demanded from them. Since I had refused them bribe when they had their first visit after the application, they were exploiting us all the time. In the mean time they were providing consents to the people which were not having systems for controlling pollution installed at their polluting units at a nominal bribe of 12000 This procedure of providing consent to operate polluting manufacturing units after getting bribe and not installing pollution control measures is till today's date ie.27-06-2008 is kept on followed. I complained this matter to CVC (Central Vigilance Commission ) and CBI but of no use.
The member secretary Mrs. Naini Jayaseelan whose office is in secretariat building was continuously abusing me with words I have never heard. She even was torturing me of what kind of science graduation I have attained in front of excise commissioner and then deputy commissioner of DPCC Mrs. Debashree Mukherjee. She was agreeing sometimes and abusing me and my family other time.
This petition is for a Legend of Zelda MMORPG from Nintendo.
A Zelda MMORPG would be an amazing thing and a good use of Nintendos wifi network and emerging online status.
Link's world has been explored extensively over the past several years which provides immense amounts of gaming possibilities.
It would be nice to see integration of systems other than the Nintendo Wii, such as the DS for those on the go away from home. More importantly, a PC version that would integrate with a Wii version online would capture much more market and would be preferable. (I would personally opt for a Wii/PC release like Final Fantasy XI did, being the PC gamer I am, though I still plan on buying a Wii soon)
Again, if it were to be a Wii only title, that would be enough.
(Though, if it were not a Legend of Zelda MMO, a mix of multiple nintendo worlds in an MMORPG would be more versatile than a single game world structure such as pokemon or zelda alone.)
Sign this petition to let Nintendo know that we want a Legend of Zelda MMORPG.
4. Game demos should be longer
December 21, 2005
Re: Trymedia Systems demo policy.
I think it would be easier to decide if you want to buy a game if you have a demo that is longer than 1 hour.
I think the demos should be at least longer than a week but shorter than 1 month so you can see what features you can unlock in the games.
5. Develop Patch for Older Games
I've created this petition to try to get Microsoft to create a patch to allow older (Windows 95/98) programs workable.
As almost all computer owners are aware, there are many games, as well as other applications, that were made before Windows XP was released, and will not work with Windows XP.
Countless dollars have gone into buying computer games, with the idea that you will always have the game to play. As time went on, Windows 95 turned to 98, and that evolved into ME. My first computer was a Windows 95, which I upgraded to 98, and all of my games worked. I soon bought a new computer with Windows ME on it, and many of my games still worked just fine. Then came Windows XP.
Upgrading to XP is pretty unavoidable, as all new programs are mainly manufactured for XP use. With upgrading to XP, you are losing the ability to play older computer games. I presonally have over 150 games that I am unable to play now. I probably spent an average of $10-$20 each on them, so that is alot of now wasted money.
I am now hesitant to buy any games for my new computer because they may not work in the next version of Windows.
Please, sign this petition to help me in my struggle to get Microsoft to develop a way to play older games on the computer.
Thank you for your time, and your support.
6. Nascar point system changes
We the fans of NASCAR {National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing] demand that you do not use the "play-off" point system that is planned for the 2004 Nascar season. We the fans of NASCAR want to have the point system that has been in place from 1975 to the 2003 season to be the only point system used to the championship. The 2003 Busch and Craftsman truck series season championship battles came down to the final laps so it shows that the systems works.
7. Nintendo must have DVD's and CD's in their next system
Nintendo Co Ltd. Never ever makes their systems play Comapct Dics (CD'S) and Digital Versitle Dics (DVD's). Well now is the time to for Nintendo to change. Let them have CD's and DVD's in their systems!!!!!!!!! NOW NINTENDO MUST BE THE TIME THAT THEY SHOULD GO WITH THE FLOW OF THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8. End inhumanity in American schools!!
I am writing this petition to inform people about the horrible state of school lunches and the horrible hours. It should be considered illegal to feed students that junck!!! and it should be illegal to get up before 8:00am to go to school. School hours should be short or none at all. Anyone who wants to end all of this inhumanity (or end school in general) please sign this petition.
9. Make TonyHawk'sProSkater come back to PC!
Some people have computers but don't have those game systems like PS1, PS2, Xbox, GC, and some of those same people (like me) have a GBA but really like the PC's and those game system's graphics. So I and others want THPS to go back to PC on a 5th game!
10. FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS CONCERNING THE USE OF OPERATING SYSTEMS IN EUROPE
We, citizens of Europe, ask our representatives in the European Parliament to vote in favour of a European law which will protect European consumers.
This law forces computer manufacturers to supply the operating system on a media (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM) separate from the computer's hardware. Furthermore, this law adds minimal rights concerning the use of operating systems: the operating system must be used on a single computer, but this computer may change over time; the operating system may be installed and used on a laptop computer if the user already owns a licence for a desktop computer. This law must guarantee that the individual has the right to choose, freely, his or her operating system and the computer in which that operating system will be used.
This measure must allow the consumers to reinstall the operating system under the following conditions:
- my hard drive has been destroyed and I have to buy a new one;
- I'm buying a new computer and I certify that my old computer is disabled and that it has not been sold or given to a third party.
We recognise that software publishers have the right to protect themselves against software piracy, but not at the expense of the citizens. They must find a way to counter software piracy which does not have a negative impact on the citizens.
Let's collect 100,000 signatures in United Kingdom, in Ireland, and more than ONE million in Europe.

11. Say "no" to sanctions and War Against Iraq
In Iraq, infant and child mortality has doubled in the past 12 years - 1 in 5 children in south and central Iraq are chronically malnourished - Iraqi hospitals in areas heavily bombed by US and UK planes during the Gulf War are full of children dying from a cancer - epidemic and many babies are born with congenital malformations. The Iraqi national literacy rate has dropped 22% over the past 12 years There continues to be regular bombing of Iraq by the US and UK - wounding and killing Iraqi citizens.
When asked whether the death of 500,000 Iraqi children was worth the price of implementing sanctions, the US Ambassador to the UN, Madeleine Albright, said "it was worth the price". We campaign as a women-only group in order to create a space in which women, from all nationalities, feel comfortable expressing themselves and acting together. The economic sanctions which affect ordinary Iraqis must be separated from diplomatic and military sanctions against the regime War is not the way to fight terrorism on a global scale, nor is it the way to improve the plight of the Iraqi people. Opposing sanctions is not the same as supporting the Iraqi regime - Opposing sanctions is supporting the Iraqi people 'If people could hear and see what is being done in their names in Iraq, they would be outraged. But they don't, so it continues.' -- John Simpson, BBC World Affairs Editor 12 years ago Iraq was a rapidly modernising state. It had good health care and education, modern tele-communications, water treatment and electricity systems. But it also had a dictatorial, oppressive regime which the Iraqi people neither elected nor were able to remove from power. Economic, military and political sanctions were imposed when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 - 'the most comprehensive in history' according to a US State Department official. 12 years later they are still in place. Sanctions, far from weakening the government, have helped it to keep control over an exhausted and desperate population. Saddam Hussein is still in power and is still carrying out massive human rights violations. Iraq is now one of the least developed, most damaged countries in the world. At least half a million children under 5 have died because of economic sanctions and countless others continue to suffer. Goods have been scarce, prices high and it is ordinary people who are suffering most. Disease, child mortality and malnutrition are rocketing because food, essential medicines and clean water are often unavailable or unaffordable. The UN has recently accepted a new so-called 'smart sanctions' proposal sponsored by the US and the UK. 'Smart sanctions' may allow more goods into the country, but will do nothing to increase the purchasing power of ordinary people or provide the means to reconstruct the country's shattered infrastructure. In emphasising the two most import causes of the humanitarian crisis - poverty and poor public infrastructure - Tun Myat, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq has said: 'No matter how much you try and modify (the existing UN humanitarian programme) it is not designed for - and it will never be - a substitute for normal economic activity... I consider water and sanitation to be the biggest killer of children in this country." Without resources or spare parts, roads, power plants and sewage works, many of which were targeted in the Gulf War, remain unrepaired and have a devastating impact on the health and well-being of Iraqi people. With the decline in normal economic activity, there has been a huge increase in poverty, high unemployment and very low salaries. Many people are so poor that they have to sell part of the food ration - the only income they receive. Sanctions have also torn at the social fabric of Iraqi life, creating an increase in violent crime, divorce and prostitution. Women are risking backstreet abortions or abandoning their babies because they know they won't be able to feed them and there has been an increase in street children. Iraq has also suffered an intellectual embargo. For 12 years no educational or research materials have been allowed in and about four million Iraqis have fled, creating a terrifying brain drain. Participation in education at all levels has declined and the illiteracy rate has risen sharply. The 1991 Gulf War has left a fatal legacy of depleted uranium carried in the warheads of missiles released during the blanket bombing in the south of Iraq. It will cost a fortune to clear up and even then it will be too late for the many Iraqi children suffering from leukaemia and related cancers.
Many children are born with malformations so severe that they do not live. Several high-ranking UK officials working in the country have resigned in protest at this misguided policy. 'We are in the process of destroying an entire society. It is as simple and terrifying as that. It is illegal and immoral.' Dennis Halliday, former UN Humanitarian Co-ordinator in Iraq. And the bombing raids continue-- The US, supported by
Britain, is now threatening to extend the 'war on terrorism' to Iraq. Inevitably, any military action will result in large civilian casualties and further damage and disruption to the fragile infrastructure and food distribution systems is likely to result in a humanitarian catastrophe. It's time to stop punishing the ordinary Iraqi people. -- Act Together. Women Against Sanctions in Iraq
12. Please release Benny Wenda
Benny Wenda, Speaking from Police Custody in West Papua:
>>>>
I am not a thief, neither am I a criminal or am I a separatist leader. I am standing for my people, in the names of truth and democracy, defending the aspiration and wish of my people. I am not arrested with the charges below, but because I am defending my rights, the fundamental rights to live freely, to eat freely, to move freely, to express my opinion freely and to gather and have social assosiations freely in this world and in this era.
I am a political prisoner for my people and my country.
>>>>>>>>>>
=====================
Benny Wenda, S.Sos, Chairperson and or Secretary-General of the Koteka Tribal Assembly (Dewan Musyawarah Adat Masyarakat Koteka - Demmak) was arrested on 08 June 2002, 01:30PM Papua Time (+9GMT) due to three charges:
1. He owns two passports from two countries (Indonesia and PNG);
2. He organised the attack on Bloody Abepura 6-7 December 2000.
3. He was organising a new attacks on TNI and Police posts in West Papua.
All charges were exposed only some hours after arrest. In other words, the charges were given BEFORE proper and just legal proceedings. Charges have no legal bases.
We want to tell the Indonesian police and army that Indonesian does not promote and respect legal supremacy. That legal systems here are not working. That Benny should be released until his arrest is proven to be legally justified.
=============
Background info:
Arbitrary arrests and or charges before legal proceedings are the culture of the military and police in Indonesia. They do not respect and even they do not trust the legal systems they themselves established.
The occupation of Indonesia itself is illegal. Consequently, all state-terrorism acts in West Papua since 1963 have been violationg human rights.
We want your help to free Benny Wenda.
Yours sincerely,
Sem Karoba

13. Shaw High Speed Bandwidth Limit Should be Increased
Shaw Cable Systems operates Shaw High Speed Internet and imposes monthly bandwidth limitations in the area of 3 gigabytes a month download. This limit is much too low when you consider the rich multimedia content of today's internet, and the nature in which they advertise that they will bring you this rich content.
14. Ban the use of Battery Cages
In Australia more than 10 million birds are continuously confined in battery cages. Battery cages are made of wire mesh with a sloping floor. Several birds are confined together in these cages. Each bird has a floor area of only 450 cm2. Battery cages are only 40cm high, just high enough for the hens to stand up. Hens are confined continuously in battery cages on average for more than a year.
Battery cages do not allow hens to behave naturally. The hens cannot preen their feathers, stretch out, or flap their wings, and they may have difficulty turning around. Battery cages do not provide the hen with a perch, litter or material for dust bathing or a suitable area for laying. The mesh floors of battery cages can cause serious damage to feet and claws. The restricted movement and lack of exercise can also cause skeletal and muscle weakness causing hens to develop osteoporosis.
Evidence from research into hen welfare indicates that battery hens suffer intensely and continuously throughout their confinement in cages. Chronic frustration of normal behaviours and acute suffering during the pre-laying period are caused by frustration of nesting behaviour.
There are humane alternatives to the battery cage system in the form of barn and free-range housing systems. These systems overcome the problems associated with confinement in battery cages by allowing hens to behave naturally.
Sign this petition if you too think that such a system is cruel. Help us stop their suffering.
