1. Support the completion of community basketball courts

The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate the community support for the completion of basketball courts for our youth. Our town has a tremendous history for basketball and previously had 3 basketball courts available.

Currently two are run down and not maintained and a third one has a foundation but no apparatus to play. We need to consider the true benefits of court completion as well as the future of our youth.

Children, teenagers, and young adults alike would all utilize this community facility. It's importance would provide a gathering of friends, an atmosphere of exercise, as well as deferring our youth from hitting the streets and seeking trouble from boredom. Your support is crucial to see to it that the newest court located at the East end of town (13th street) be completed to include cemented backboards/nets, weather proof painted basketball lines, cemented benches, water fountain, as well as appropriate safety fencing.

We are asking that your signature provide Midland Council with the community interest and backing of this project. Thank you for your support.

2. Advocating for more rights for families of mental health patients

So many people today are affected, either directly or indirectly, by mental illness. Many times, patients suffering from mental illness are being helped or taken care of by family members. Unfortunately, family members have no rights when it comes to assisting with the treatment of their family members or gaining information for this treatment.

Families are often left in the dark when it comes to treatment plans for their loved ones. A plan has been put into place that allows, among many other things, to let families play an active role in the treatment of these patients.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the adoption and continued support of the Olmstead Plan for Mental Health and Disability Services: State Plan Framework. For mor information on this Plan, please visit http://iowamhdsplan.org/

Thank you for your support of our case.

3. North Sydney Council - PLEASE support your Business Community!

‘Vivid’ is a light and entertainment festival run over 17 days in Sydney which, last year attracted half a million people to the city, enhancing community spirit and supporting business and trade operators.

On 8 April this year North Sydney Council agreed to fund the expansion of the Vivid festival to include North Sydney with a $100,000 contribution in 2013 to the over-$1million contribution being made by Destination NSW to this development. Expanding ‘Vivid’ to North Sydney would bring an estimated 350,000 visitors to our shores – to our cafes and restaurants, to Luna Park , our art galleries, small businesses one and all, and bring great economic benefit and much needed ‘life’ back to our region, especially important in the colder months and outside business hours.

Last Monday 15th April at an Extraordinary meeting, the Council rescinded this decision, denying any funding and thereby any potential for economic benefit in North Sydney. We were at the meeting and heard all the arguments as to why the Council should not participate, however, there are many better reasons for this project to be supported.

North Sydney Chamber of Commerce has written an open letter to the Councillors explaining why we think they should support Vivid – and now we are asking for your support. We believe that businesses in North Sydney LGA have been ignored for too long and that it is time that we stand up and demand to be heard.

The North Sydney Chamber of Commerce is absolutely apolitical about this – we only want the best for business in North Sydney LGA and international events such as Vivid are about much needed economic stimulation. We hope we can count on your support.

And Vivid is just the beginning - we need more and more activities of this nature and we need to tell that to Council!

If you would like Council to be more supportive of business and listen to us when we ask to be heard, please sign this petition. Time its tight for this project as we would like to present this petition to Council on Monday, so please don’t delay – and please pass this on to your business colleagues.

5. CLEMENCY for RICHARD DIGUGLIELMO

OVER 1200 + SIGNATURES ON 1st PETITION

LETS GET THIS 2ND PETITION EVEN HIGHER

THE COALITION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, LABOR UNIONS, CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR THE RELEASE OF IMPRISONED NYPD OFFICER RICHARD DIGUGLIELMO

We are requesting your support for a clemency application of Richard DiGuglielmo, a veteran of the New York Police Department who was convicted of depraved indifference murder after a series of tragic events in which Officer DiGuglielmo shot and killed a man who had struck Officer DiGuglielmo's father with a metal baseball bat. Additional information about Officer DiGuglielmo and his case is available at http://www.richarddiguglielmo.org/

As you may know Officer DiGuglielmo was convicted of a murder stemming from a 1996 off-duty incident where he effectively saved his father's life. A New York State Supreme Court Justice subsequently released Officer DiGuglielmo in 2008 only for Officer DiGuglielmo's conviction to be re-instated after 20 months of freedom by a NYS Court of Appeals decision. A recent and probably final decision by the United States Court of Appeals has affirmed the NYS Court of Appeals decision. In the courts opinion they effectively stated that Officer DiGuglielmo's gun was a more serious threat than the baseball bat used to strike his Officer DiGuglielmo's father with TWICE! The court further opined, that Charles Campbell lacked intent to use the baseball bat as a deadly weapon because he never struck DiGuglielmo Sr. near the head or other vital area!

Article 35 of the NYS Penal Law effectively states: A person may use physical force upon another person when and to the extent he or she reasonably believes such to be necessary to defend himself, herself or a third person from what he or she reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of unlawful physical force by such other person.

In People v. Talbert, the court held that an object as ordinary as a broom handle could be considered a weapon under the Penal Law if there exist the requisite intent to use the object unlawfully against another. The object in question was a broom handle…in Officer DiGUGLIELMO 'S CASE IT WAS A METAL BASEBALL BAT!

We have effectively come to a point of critical mass in relation to this case. The rulings by the NYS and Federal Appeals Courts in relation to this case have enormous ramifications nationwide for Police Officers, Peace Officers, and Citizens who may have to use deadly physical force. At this point there are no legal options left. We need your support in our effort to petition the NYS Governor Andrew M. Cuomo for clemency. We eagerly await your response.

ACT NOW….

8. Gay Marriage for Missouri

Love is love. Sure it says in the bible "marriage is between a man and a women" but, god loves ALL his children whether skinny or fat, black or white, gay or straight. People believe if it's approved it will make more people gay..WRONG! It's a chance to let millions of people be happy to feel wanted. To live their life instead of hiding in the shadows. Sure there are people who will always be against it. A lot of children nowadays like me have grown up with gays and we see them as friends not a piece of scum. Black and whites have the same rights thanks to Martin Luther King JR. Why can't the gays?

When a same sex couple adopts its 2 people that want children it can't accidentally happen. No that doesn't mean they will raise gay children. Their children will have a choice in what they want. Straight people don't always do what their straight parents do so why do people think their children will be gay.

The world will be a better place because younger children will understand that they can love anybody or be anything without being judged. If you're afraid of being hit on or being surrounded by gays, not all of them are going to hit on you. Women who get hit on by men tell them no. Men who get hit on by women they tell them no as well. If you get hit on just tell them I'm straight and they will back down. Love is love, you shouldn't be judged by who you give your heart to.

9. SUPPORT MALENY SUPA IGA RE-DEVELOPMENT

Rob and Samantha Outridge from Maleny Supa IGA lodged a development application with Sunshine Coast Regional Council on 28/06/2012. http://bit.ly/Qu5V9P

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. If you would like to support the development application floor plan as it stands, please sign the petition below and share online. We need as many signatures as possible. Don’t be part of the silent majority.. we need YOUR support to be heard! Let Council know YOU support it, and have YOUR voice heard.

WHAT ARE THE CHANGES:

SMART THINKING – BASEMENT LEVEL - Using a common sense approach most storage areas and cold rooms will move to a new basement level underneath the store.

GOODBYE LOADING BAY FROM MAIN STREET - Loading Bay moves to the rear of the store, opening up more parking spaces on Maple Street.

NEW SHOP FITTINGS WHILE RETAINING MALENY CHARACTER. More floor space allows us to totally refresh the look of the store, including new shop fittings, refrigeration etc

WIDE RANGE – INCLUDING MORE LOCAL PRODUCE - More floor space = more local products & wider range of grocery items.

MORE CAR PARKS -Traffic flow, extra parking spots and the look and feel of the lower end of Maple Street is improved. I.e. new car parks, no loading bay and reversing trucks, reduction in noise levels, no commercial bin smells etc

JOBS - Immediate jobs in construction for locals and ongoing new jobs for staff in-store after development is completed.

10. Support Motion 312

PLEASE ALSO SEE:
http://www.lifecanada.org/services/petitions/petition-in-support-of-motion-312

The definition of "human being" is of fundamental importance to the governing of Canadian society and the functioning of the Canadian judicial system. The definition present in the Canadian Criminal Code (under section 223(1)) is potentially outdated, and should be revised in light of more recent medical evidence.

The purpose of Motion 312 is to update this definition, and then petition Parliament to make all necessary legal changes in light of revision, if there are any.

Canadian residents of any age may sign.

Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982):
Section (1) "...guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society."

If the unborn are persons, abortion reform is a "reasonable limit" to guarantee "rights and freedoms" of all human beings.

Section (7) "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice."

If the unborn are persons, they must be granted "the right to life", and abortion reform would be necessary to reach such "fundamental justice".

The Canadian Human Rights Act (1985):
Section (2) "...that all individuals should have an opportunity equal with other individuals to make for themselves the lives that they are able and wish to have and to have their needs accommodated, consistent with their duties and obligations as members of society, without being hindered in or prevented from doing so by discriminatory principles...."

If the unborn are human beings, they must be granted "opportunity equal with others to make for themselves...lives". Abortion reform would not be part of "discriminatory principles" against women, but part of ensuring equality in opportunity to live.

If the unborn are persons, then Parliament has the moral duty to give the unborn the right to life. Parliament must, then, also grant pregnant women more federal support, by any just means, so that the child(ren) may be born, and that she does not suffer financially or otherwise.

11. Stop the unfair exclusion of Sterre Ploeger

UPDATE 2: THANKS TO ALL YOUR SUPPORT STERRE BACK IN COLLEGE!!

The principal of the college had a meeting with 2 governors yesterday 12th Sep. The result is that Sterre will be accepted back on her performing arts course from Monday 17th Sep. This is a great achievement. Now it is just about the college recognising that a disabled person cannot be flexible in his support needs and not putting up barriers for her any more.

One governor has asked Micheline Mason to be involved and give advise to the college. She says: “There has been many issues in the past of mistreatment and oppression of the family by the College, and there are still many issues to be sorted out but a step has been taken in the right direction. We should make the college aware that we will be keeping a vigilant watch on what happens, but that we recognise that a step has been taken in the right direction.”

The family accept Micheline's judgement and calls off the demonstration that was planned for today Thu 13th September.

UPDATE:

The meeting with the college on Monday 10th September 2012 did not go well. By enrolling Sterre has an agreement with Newham College to do the level 1 Performing Arts course, but now the Principal has overturned this decision. They made the excuse that Sterre needs to have assessments by a clinical psychologist in order to work out a good programme for her! She doesn't need to see a clinical psychologist! She doesn't need a good 'programme', she has already chosen to study performing arts and all she wants to do is take part on the course she has been enrolled on. Sterre looked forward to starting the course so much and the first week went so well – why is the Principal trying to make people believe that this isn't the right course for her?

We are having a demonstration on Thursday 13th September 2012 at 12.30pm at the front of East Ham college. Please come to the demonstration and ask other supporters to come as well. This disability discrimination has gone too far. If we let them get away with this then what hope do Sterre and other disabled students fighting for education have?

____________________________________________

Thanks to a very successful campaign, Sterre was enrolled on the Level 1 performing arts course. She started last Monday and has had a great week.

However, yesterday the Principal attacked. She excluded Sterre from college until a meeting could be arranged between the college and Sterre's advocates because she argued that Sterre had brought her own pa's without permission of the college and had therefore breached college policy.

It was clearly agreed when Sterre enrolled for the course that she could bring her own personal assistants as that was the only way she would be able to communicate and achieve.

Sterre has been prevented from attending classes at a critical point in the year. The students are completing their initial induction assessments which will determine whether they can continue on the course. By excluding her now the principal would make sure that Sterre is unable to stay on the course after the induction period.

Sterre has not done anything wrong and so there is no justifiable reason to suspend her. She is only being punished for bringing in her own PA's, something she can't do without and so this is disability discrimination.

We must act now to make sure that Sterre can attend college in this critical period.

12. We don't "like" your treatment of roleplayers

On FaceBook, there are perfectly lovable accounts made by nerdy people, and they're accounts made for roleplaying as one's favorite character from whatever movie or TV show that they are most nerdy about.

Supporters of these accounts (aka those who have such an account and/or hold at least one dear on their "friends" list) lovingly refer to them as "roleplayers", "FaceBook roleplayers", "RP's", or "FBRP's". But in the eyes of those against these accounts (tattletales and FB itself), we/they should be counted as "fake accounts".

I am a supporter, and I belong in the "and" section. I have a separate account as Jessie from the Toy Story series, and I hold many roleplayers on both of my "friends" list very, very dear to my heart. Recently, someone threatened to report and ban my favorite roleplayer of Timon from the The Lion King series, and I was absolutely heartbroken. This wouldn't have been the first time one of my roleplayer friends had been permanently force-deleted, either.

I know that there are some people who hide behind anonymity to do truly terrible things to others, but I think that there should be true proof that that's what someone's doing before they ban somebody. One example would be a screenshot that can be proved to be 100% unedited.

UPDATE: The photo you see as the petition photo was the exact photo that was the profile picture of the Timon roleplayer I mentioned. I cannot currently message him, see his wall, or see his profile picture, as he temporarily deleted his account by choice in response to the threats. He's back on, but I still don't have the ability to talk to him. I really am heartbroken about that.

13. Make the Chemical Weapons Convention Obligatory for UN members

The Chemical Weapons Convention created by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, outlaws the production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons.

Every country in the world has signed this international agreement, except for six countries. Syria is one of them. Various sources reflect that the Syrian government is willing to use their chemical weapons to stop the uprising.

Since chemical weapons can be used for mass killings in a matter of minutes, these atrocities must be stopped.

16. SUPPORT A DOG PARK IN BRYAN COUNTY, GEORGIA

SUPPORT A DOG PARK IN BRYAN COUNTY, GEORGIA

REGION – COASTAL GEORGIA, USA

TARGET – Government Officials of Bryan County

This petition, supported by the undersigned, is directed to Government Officials in Bryan County, GA. Its goal is to support the granting of land within South Bryan County – potentially within Henderson Park. The construction of an enclosed, off-leash dog park in a centralized, convenient location within South Bryan County.

This park would be a designated area where well-behaved canine citizens, can exercise and have fun in a clean, safe environment. We want to create a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends, who will be willing to uphold the park's rules and restrictions. The park will be designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike. We aim for this park to be a community project, supported in part by volunteer dog-owners and maintained in partnership with Bryan County.

In many cities, dog parks are very common. You can view the list of dog parks in each city and state by visiting www.dogparkusa.com.

The large number of successful dog parks all over the world demonstrates that when a group of concerned and responsible dog owners work together for a leash-free dog park, not only can this concept work but it can thrive and enrich the community. Our community is filled with so many dog-lover residents who have voiced their desire for such a park.

We are asking Bryan County to allow the construction of a dog park for the following reasons:

-Such a park would allow families with dogs to spend more quality time with their pets.

-This park would increase opportunities for residents to interact with their neighbors and help create a sense of community.

-Socializing dogs is very beneficial to the community, since it makes them less skittish and can mitigate aggressive behavior when meeting other dogs and people.

-Many dog owners do not have a fenced in yard where their dogs can spend time outside, and leashes greatly limit the dog's space and pace.

-regular exercise is great for any dog's longevity and weight control. The overall effect of regular exercise makes most dogs calmer and better behaved.

Please help us create a dedicated space that allows our dogs to have a place to run freely and safely.

19. Martin Linenko Jr. - Requesting Release from Segregation at Fairbanks Correctional Facility

This is Nicole Smith, fiancee of Martin Linenko Jr, aka Yae Neech. Martin has never been a threat to the Fairbanks community, where he was born and raised and has strived to only become a better man and father to his family.

Since a young child he's been well known to the members of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, participated in sports (mostly football), and spent summers doing construction jobs.

Several years back he decided to try his hand in the music business by starting a legit music label...recording music, making & selling instrumentals, collaborating with industry artists on tracks, as well as coordinating live performances here in the Fairbanks area.

The Law assumes that Martin is a threat (an expression of intention to inflict evil, injury or damage) to our community. If you know him at all, you would know that this is NOT in his character. His family and I have created a PETITION appealing to authority with RESPECT to his cause. In support of "Yae Neech" we are asking that you PLEASE take a moment of your time to SIGN THIS PETITION for him.

We GREATLY APPRECIATE all support given. WE LOVE & MISS HIM DEARLY! SO LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO BRING HIM HOME.

22. Soft Play Barn at Cobbs Farm Shop

Soft Play Barn

Please Sign Our Petition!

Earlier this year we were refused permission to build a new soft play barn at Cobbs.

This was despite a huge effort (and cost) in preparation of the application and indeed full support from the parish council. Reasons for refusal were, in our opinion vague at best, but having addressed them best we can we are having another go!

This facility will enable us to further still provide a safe and educational learning environment for children throughout the year as well as giving us some additional and much needed space to create a relaxed environment for parents and children.

It is our intention to provide food and drink but those of you used to the usual “pizza and chips” offer at existing “soft play centres” need not worry—our focus will continue to be on wholesome grub!

Please support us by signing this petition so that, should we encounter more issues with our application, we can further demonstrate support for a facility such as this!

26. Bring Yumiko☆ back in Ameba Pico

this petition is to promote that Yumiko☆ didn't cheat on the virtual world game: Ameba Pico virtual World

Ameba Pico Virtual World banned some users because they are said to have cheated in the game by getting extra rooms without paying.

but the truth is that, Yumiko☆'s account got hacked and the hacker tried to claim the account as his own and used cheats for some benefits

Yumiko☆ got her account back with her account with 380 ameba golds(currency in the game) left. Evidence of the hacker's usage of the account. There are also five new rooms in her account, which was done by an illegal action.

Which i'm saying is that the illegal rooms are not done by Yumiko☆ herself. Therefore it's a wrong thing to ban her account because it is not her fault.

Yumiko☆ used real money in this game so it's very important that she shouldn't get banned for a false alarm.

probably the best way is just to remove the added rooms and let her play the game the way she used to.

We hope to get the Game's Administrator's attention and do a quick response. Thank you.

28. Petition for Lifeline's Plea for Hornsby Council Support

A significant number of Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury’s face-to-face counselling and support services are at risk of closure due to Lifeline’s own crisis struggle for financial viability and sustainability. Wendy Carver, Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury’s CEO, said “It would be an absolute tragedy if any of Lifeline’s services ceased to operate and stopped being able to provide support to people in need in our own local community.”

Lifeline has therefore reached out to Hornsby Council for assistance. Lifeline’s hope is that Hornsby Council will be able to provide them with a Council owned retail property at a subsidised rent which will assure financial survival of their multiple counselling and community services from revenue raised through the selling of high quality second hand clothing, books, brick a brac and furniture. This will ensure residents of Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai are able to continue to receive the support they deserve and need.

For over 40 years Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury, based at Gordon, has been providing a wide range of counselling and community service to residents of the North side of Sydney with some services having between 40-50% of clients residing in the Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai Municipalities.

29. Support "What Happens When" to obtain a Liquor License

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN (WHW) requests your support, and the support of the residents of Community Board 2, in obtaining an On-Premise Liquor License for a restaurant located at 25 Cleveland Place between Spring and Kenmare. Without the liquor license, WHW will most likely desist.

The temporary restaurant installation has been scheduled to last for a duration of nine months with a menu that changes completely every month along with the decor, music and drinks program (liquor license permitting of course). Michelin-starred chef John Fraser of Dovetail is in charge of the menu along with his creative team, which includes interior designer Elle Kunnos de Voss of The Metrics and brand designer Emilie Baltz.

The focus of the installation is to explore the definition of what a restaurant can be, both as a dining experience and a creative process. Although temporary in nature, WHW is not a "pop-up" restaurant and does have ties to the community. For example, WHW hosts a Monday night dining series called What Happens When Women Take Over, recognizing and collaborating with female chefs, pastry chefs and sommeliers who have influenced the dining landscape. 20% of the Monday evening's net sales are donated to a charitable organization of the chef's choice.

WHW is a restaurant project that will continue to be a good neighbor, respectful of the community in which it operates while also contributing to the nexus of creative activity that SoHo is known to represent.

Tsiros passed away after making the biggest ever donation to the Church of Cyprus, a property donation believed to be worth by today’s value, of well over One Billion Euros (600 Million Cypriot Pounds), with the express written condition that the Church of Cyprus should use the profits from the sale and development of that land, for public charitable causes and every time such funds were used to announce that they originated from Petros I. Tsiros donation fund.

After thirty five or so years and hundreds of millions of proceeds from that donation, the people of Cyprus are still anxiously waiting for the first of such announcements and the handling of the donation has remained an enigma to many.
