2. Save our Super

The Government is looking to reduce the current tax concessions for superannuation. This is despite all of the Government's enquiries, reports and committees plus associations such as ASFA, AIST, FPA and ASMA agreeing that superannuation is the key to a successful, worry free retirement.

Any change by the Government to superannuation tax concessions now will undermine the Australian people's confidence in superannuation. And it may be the thin edge of the wedge - a small haircut now and maybe a bigger one later?

Self reliance or social security in retirement? Which do you choose?

Save our Super now - tell the government that they must act on their word not to touch superannuation. Don't mess with our super - ever!

3. Support Morrisons Newmarket Planning Application

Newmarket is currently not well served by foodstores and would benefit from a wider choice.

We believe the old gasworks site at Exning Road site is the best available foodstore site in Newmarket as it is brownfield and on the edge of the town centre.

Morrisons has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public. The majority - 90% of respondents - said they supported the proposals and were happy to see the site redeveloped by Morrisons.

A planning application has been submitted to Forest Heath District Council, who will shortly decide whether to give the go ahead.

Please sign this petition to let councillors know the local community want a new Morrisons in Newmarket.

5. Official International Super Junior Fan Club

Super Junior (슈퍼주니어), often referred to as SJ or SuJu (슈주), is a popular boy band from South Korea formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2005. They are current leaders of the hallyu wave, undeniably backing a large fan base all over the world.

The official fan club Everlasting Friends is limited specifically to Korea. The goal is to open an international fan base for all fans to enjoy. Super Junior has been enjoying much success in and outside Korea as proven by SMTOWN Paris and the third official concert SS3 that was hosted all over Asia. Now the upcoming SS4 is being hosted all over the globe, it only makes sense for the group to open an international official fan club for all their fans to enjoy and to lengthen their options within the industry.

6. Say NO to the SuperGP!

The SuperGP in Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast has deteriorated from what was once one of the most popular motor sports event in Australia, to an absolute shambles. The Queensland Government spends almost $12 million of tax payers money every year on the street race.

The race causes major disruptions to residents in Surfers Paradise and it hurts many businesses who do not normally attract the average racegoer.

It is time to either scrap the event all together or alternatively, relocate it to a purpose built track outside of Surfers Paradise.

10. Melee Re-Release

Melee was a great game. It is still played today by more than half of the "professional" brawl players. Melee was a game that needed skill and practice to play. The competition in it was incredible. There were huge tournaments, MLG was involved and the community was very happy until Brawl came out.

Brawl is a game that anybody can pick up and spend 4 hours practicing to be able to beat people that have been playing for months. Since Dacus and Glidetossing/chaingrabbing were discovered, it gave the hardcore gamers a way t beat the casuals easily.

This still isn't enough. Brawl is very slow paced, the edges autosweetspot and there are many things wrong with the game, especially the characters who are more unbalanced than melee's. There is also a lack of hitstun in brawl. This made the players HACK the game in order to recreate it into a better game. Wavedashing, L canceling, Shine spiking, drill shining, dash dancing, Combos, drill shining, pillaring, tech chasing and skill were all fun aspects of melee. Brawl is very limited while melee was a very creative game.

Brawl also includes crappy stages and a very horrible story mode. Please re-release melee for the wii, with more characters and stages. The graphics don't matter as long as there are more characters/stages. Brawl is a disappointment. Many games for the wii were also a disappointment. Since many of the hardcore titles were simplified, hardcore players went to third party makers, or bought a rival console.

Respect for Nintendo has been lost and can easily be regained by pleasing the hardcore gamers. Re-release melee, the greatest game Nintendo ever made.

11. Roy for 4th Super Smash Bros. Game

On YouTube, everyone is SO pissed about Roy from Fire Emblem not being included on the huge SSBB roster. I bought and beat Super Smash Bros. Melee for use on my Wii. When I beat it, and had the ENTIRE roster, I thought that EVERYONE would be in the next game.

A year later, I bought Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It was a HUGE disappointment. Roy ended up being replaced with Ike, in which I hate. Sign this if you agree or have the same story.

13. Fulham says 'NO' to the Super Sewer

The route for Thames Water’s super sewer, which is also known as the Thames Tunnel, threatens two sites in Hammersmith & Fulham - with Carnwath Road in Fulham earmarked for a major construction compound. Thames Water is asking residents in Fulham what they think of the plans to use a densely packed residential area for their main super-sewer construction compound.

Thames Water wants to use land next to Carnwath Road as a 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week construction site for seven years for their £3.6 billion storage tank under the river. The proposals raise a series of issues including:

- The stench that will be created from gases caused by raw sewage in a densely populated residential area next to five local schools
- The clogging up of already congested residential streets with lorries
- The £3.6billion cost of the scheme, which has more than doubled since 2002
- The disruption to local homes caused by noisy and dusty construction work
- The loss of new homes and jobs on the riverside
- The lack of consultation on this site with local people
- Water-rates spiralling by at least £65 per year to pay for the scheme
- The 50 foot high stink pipe to let off sewer vapours that will be a permanent legacy of the scheme.

Hammersmith Embankment has also been targeted for a second smaller sewer construction site. Thames Water wants to dig-up land opposite Frank Banfield Park, on Chancellors Road, and has written to residents to say that the work will ‘inevitably cause disruption’.

In addition to the specific concerns about the two sites in the borough many local people are starting to question whether the benefits of the super sewer are in proportion to the large costs. Issues include:

- The public health benefits will be relatively minimal. There is no risk to drinking water from sewage overflow into the Thames
- Thames Water’s current proposal is not flexible
- The limited benefits are not proportionate to the large and escalating costs, especially during an age of austerity
- The tunnel will do little to increase the capacity of the local sewerage network where, during storm conditions, basements suffer from sewer flooding
- The environmental benefits will also be small. The Thames is ‘one of the cleanest metropolitan rivers in the world’, according to the GLA, and recently won the international Theiss River Prize for cleanliness
- There are sensible and more cost effective alternatives that can make the Thames even cleaner with less disruption to Londoners and without the huge environmental, social and economic costs
- A shorter smarter tunnel, like the Babtie option combined with other measures, could be as effective at a fraction of the cost.

This petition was originally launched in 2008 but has now been updated (as above) to focus on the specific risks to Carnwath Road and Hammersmith Embankment as well as questioning the benefits of the overall scheme.

Please register your email address when signing the petition below – this will help us keep you up-to-date on the super sewer.

16. Review Gosupermodel Moderators

Ok. Before i begin i just want to say, Moderators of Gsm, this is nothing
personal. I just think that it is time for a change. I think that we should get rid of
or, at least change the GSM moderator system. Heres why.

1. i think that it is unfair that they should get to read private club forums.
Mabey they should Keep the club safe be respecting the members and apllying.
Like everyone else. By respecting members, you might gain the respect of
others.

2. I dont think that they should be able to put people in time out of ban them.
Mabey there could be a system where they file a report to admin who would be
able to Veiw them all when she logged on. This is nessascery because
sometimes the moderators abuse there powers. (no offence, if any of you are
reading this)

3.I think that every 2 months the moderators should have to Check in with
admin who would make sure that they are still desverving of this postion.

4. I think that the beheivor of the moderators should be moniterd more
carefully. They get away with alot of stuff.

5. I just hope that admin is making sure that there "Moderator Club"s private
forum does not become perosonal attack central. Because in the forum "No
more Not fair posts" it metions that the moderators discuss "who to look out
for" which can turn into personal attacks very easily. I think that they should
not be aloud to discuss people. They should leave it at GSM events and changes
that would do more to make GSM better

If you do not make these changes, get rid of moderators all together

17. Bring Mewtwo back to Smash Brothers

Mewtwo from the Pokemon series was left out of the latest "Super Smash Brothers". In the Pokemon series, he was unbeatable (now, only second to the god Pokemon "Arceus").

Lots of us were looking forward to seeing Mewtwo in Brawl, but he was replaced by Lucario. This petition is not meant to kick Lucario out of the roster and put Mewtwo back in but rather include both.

Who knows, those who hate Mewtwo could Lucario to kill Mewtwo. Should you re-enter Mewtwo, a new moveset might be nessesary.

19. Copying Data from Super Smash Brother's Brawl

Nintendo Wii has a feature that allows users to copy game data from the Wii console to an SD Card. This feature is useful for two reasons: 1) to back-up game data, and 2) to transfer game data from one Wii console to another Wii console.

On the SD Card designed for the Wii is a message that says “Store your game saves.” This led me to believe that I could use this SD Card to back-up all my game information.

Nintendo encourages backing data up onto an SD Card when sending in a Wii Console for repairs.

I copied most of my saved data fine, but Super Smash Brothers Brawl did not allow me to copy.

I called Nintendo Customer Service and they confirmed that this was intentionally blocked in the programming of Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

This results in having to take the entire Wii Console to a friend’s house to use your unlocked stages/characters. Because we must take the entire console and not only the SD Card, the Wii Console receives more damage and use and wears out sooner. Not being able to back-up saves to an SD Card is a direct link in the chain that leads to a broken Wii Console.

20. Save Our Christian Bookshop

Update Jan 29, 2008

WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE - THE SHOP IS STAYING OPEN

Just to let you all know that we have had a meeting this morning with the Managing Director of Wesley Owen and they have reversed their decision -we are staying open!

This is subject to Mullers (the landlord) agreeing to a rolling lease, but they are confident that this will be acceptable.

The decision to keep us open is as a direct result of the passion of the staff and the Christians of Weston Super Mare who have either signed the on line petition or written with their concerns - so thank you all so much for your support.

IT IS NOW EITHER USE IT OR LOSE IT

They will be reviewing the situation annually so please continue to support us so that we might retain this vital outlet.

With many thanks to you all

Norma

---------------------------------------------

It has been proposed that the only Christian bookshop in Weston Super Mare, be closed permanently sometime in March 2008. It is at present in a three week consultation period, which is to allow for any ideas or opinions to be submitted, which may reverse this decision.

There has been a Christian bookshop in the town, for at least the last 50 years, and despite the growing trend in internet buying, we feel that there is still a need for this outlet.

Weston Super Mare is a growing town with a growing Christian community. It is also a town with many older residents, who would not be able to travel to Bristol to purchase Christian books and music. Many of these same residents do not have access to the internet, or indeed have the knowledge to do so.

The Christian bookshop is more than a shop, it is a place of safety, where many come to find a listening ear or to share an experience.

For almost every other book topic or music there are numerous outlets in the town. Not so for Christian books and music. In this day and age of ever decreasing values, surely this is a sad reflection of our times. This is heightened by the fact that a nearby outlet specialising in witchcraft, is thriving.

We in this country have the luxury of worshipping freely, whilst others in foreign lands are daily tortured and executed for there faith. Would we as Christians, not then be negligent if we did not fight to retain this invaluable Christian resource?

It is for these reasons that we invite you to sign this petition.

21. Create A Rugby League 3!

The last Rugby League game (Rugby League 2) is almost two years old. A sequel is not in development, nor is it planned.

We want HES to realise that there is a market for another Rugby League game, and that they should support our beautiful game.

Sidhe have done a fantastic job with the funding provided on the past two Rugby League games, and I think it is safe to say they are very popular.

Sidhe have said that they would be willing to make another game if the business terms were similar to them in the past.

24. Super SA Socially Responsible Investment Option

The situation

Socially responsible investment is the most effective way the general public can influence industry to be accountable for their actions.

All Government of South Australia employees are mandated to use Super SA for the compulsory employer contribution portion of their superannuation. Although we do have a number of risk Vs return investments options, we do not have any influence over the ethical decisions of the companies that we are forced to invest in.

Of all of the State Government super funds in Australia Super SA is the only Sate Government super fund that does not offer a socially responsible investment super option.

What is needed

As an employee of the Government of South Australia I demand the option to have my superannuation invested in socially and environmentally sustainable companies.

I want my super invested in companies that are doing the right thing. Companies that provide not only potential for good returns but also socially and environmentally responsible development. I want to invest in sustainable industries such as renewable energy, sustainable timber plantations, complementary medicine, energy efficient building developments and education.

Why it is needed

Super SA currently has no ethical screening for its investment options. Today Super SA can not guarantee that your retirement funds are not being used to support companies that are involved in gambling, armaments, tobacco and alcohol, uranium mining, native forest logging, repressive regimes and companies with poor environmental and social policies.

If we do not demand the option to change no option will be given to us.

“To date, very few members of Super SA schemes have ever requested that an ethical investment option be made available. Therefore, Super SA is not planning to survey all our members in the near future, given the cost involved in doing so.”

Super SA, 30 April 2007

It is your money and you should at least have the option to choose how it is invested.

25. Larry Aurie to the Rafters

The Detroit Red Wings have neglected Larry Aurie for way to many years. Others, great ones as well have been honored, yet this person, Larry Aurie has been forgotten and was the first great one in Red Wings storied history.

Larry Aurie was one of the Red Wings' first great players. He was Detroit's representative in the NHL's first all-star game in 1934. He led the league in goals one season and was top-three in the league in points in another. In 1937, Aurie was one of the six players named to the NHL's post-season first-team all-stars. And most importantly, Aurie was a key part of the Red Wings' first two Stanley Cup champions.

We are asking that the Detroit Red Wings and the Management recognize Larry Aurie's # 6 and place his jersey in it's proper place next to Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio, Terry Sawchuk, Sid Able, Ted Lindsay and Steve Yzerman. Please fix this tragedy.
