David Cameron need to get his Priority right and think of others other than himself, I mean we're going down hill since he took over and not to mention he gave £10 Billion to another Country and you think that what he's doing is ok? I think not... it's INSIDIOUS...
2. Stop dog poisoning in Turkey 
Street dogs are still being poisoned in Turkey. The dogs suffer a horrible dead. This kind of poison is even harmful for small children. This is injected in meat or even bones, it is odorless or taste less.
Every year before the season starts the government "cleans" the streets. That means that the animals are being killed before the tourist arrive. Every year hundred of animals are being killed. This has to stop!
3. Help support networks to help children and parents through loss and reunification
Children taken into care; parents are totally a loss no support no were to turn no way forward; children in care emotional abused from being away from loving mother or parents guardian whom they have known for years after years of loss they then reunite but they are damaged;
Where's the support to keep the family together so there's love and support children change more so as research shows children in care are more likely to go to prison and cause ASBO parents turn to drugs the family are again apart this is for them to turn to a group a unit something like victim support, group counselling, women, something to help stable families so children don't end up back in care or on the streets.
4. Change the American Kennel Club
I was shocked to discover that the AKC discriminate against mixed breeds by not allowing them into their classes or competitions. Mixed breeds are hardier because they are less prone to genetic conditions.
As well as this, I disagree with the way that the AKC promotes puppy mills by registering puppie that have been bred on these filthy, cramped places where female dogs are bred to exhaustion and then either killed or dumped at animal shelters.
Despite the cruelties behind this support, the AKC are planning on allowing hounds to hunt raccoons. Yes, the hounds do need to fulfil their urge to hunt, but this can be fulfilled by laying artificial scents.
As well as this, the AKC is allowing the over-breeding of dogs, which can result in pugs with such short snouts that they cannot breathe properly.

6. JUSTICE FOR THE PLOVDIV COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER VICTIMS
For the last 16 years all compassionate citizens of Plovdiv and the world have been appalled by the ongoing, obnoxious practices of animal abuse at the County - owned Animal Shelter for dogs /or otherwise known as "isolator"/ in Plovdiv.
This hell hole of a shelter has a long violent history of animal neglect, torture and killing. Many have witnessed acts of unspeakable cruelty such as dogs being kicked and bludgeoned to death, dogs being strangled, drowned, skinned or burnt alive. On the other hand almost nothing has been done by the Mayor of Plovdiv and its administration, or the Chief Prosecutor, or the Director of the National Veterinary Service, or the Minister of Agriculture, or the Prime Minister, or the President for that matter to punish those responsible or remedy this appalling situation.
The provision of services concerning domestic and stray animals, including dogs, domesticated and feral cats, is governed primarily by the Veterinary Medical Act 1999/2006, the Animal Protection Bill /APB/ 2008 and the European Convention for the Protection of Pet Animals.
From the time of the enactment of the Animal Protection Bill, the County has failed and refused to follow the laws. It has been the County’s practice and policy to ignore the mandates of the legislature, as follows:
1. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.51 and Veterinary Medical Act art.179 the County has routinely euthanised dogs labeled ‘’aggressive’’ without justification or prior temperament testing.
2. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.51 and the Veterinary Medical Act art.179 the County has routinely euthanised dogs labeled ‘’terminally ill’’ arbitrarily and without medical justification.
3. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.58 1. the County has established a pattern and practice of failing to cooperate with non-profit animal rescue organizations, by routinely denying such groups access to relevant documentation and ignoring their requests for information.
4. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.16(4)(5), art.41(6) and art.44 3, the County has made it a policy and practice to thwart the public’s ability to adopt impounded animals by failing to promote such adoptions in the media or internet, by restricting viewing hours and by denying the public an opportunity to interact with the animals.
5. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.45, 1 and 5 and art.46(3) the County has established a practice and policy of euthanising treatable animals, without providing medical care to the animal. Further, the APB art.16 (2) specifically requires "necessary and prompt veterinary medical care" for sick or injured animals, which has not been provided to many or all of the animals brought to the County shelter.
6. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.45, 8 the County has established a practice of routinely euthanising animals without the mandatory signature and consent of the ‘’third person’’, appointed representative of NGO.
7. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.14(1) 1,2 and (2) the County has failed to offer decent sanitary conditions to impounded animals, which has resulted in staggering death rate.
8. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill the County has failed to provide adequate facilities, instruments and technical equipment in the pound for remedial and diagnostic purposes.
9. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill art.10 (1), (2) 1, and the Veterinary Medical Act art.151, 1, it has been reported that impounded animals are killed with extreme malice and cruelty, highly indicative of the sadistic predisposition of the personnel involved.
10. In violation of the Animal Protection Bill and the Veterinary Medical Act at present the Animal Shelter operates illegally /without a license/ due to a failure to comply with any of the requirements of Regulation 41 concerning animal pounds and shelters.
According to article 43 par. (1) of the Animal Protection Bill, the Mayor must guarantee free access to all members of the public to the municipal dog pound, as well as to secure adequate public control over the facility. The Bill also prohibits in art. 45 par. (8) the euthanasia of aggressive or terminally ill animals without the signature and consent of a “third party”, appointed representative of NGO (animal welfare organisation).
None of these legal requirements have also been met. As a result of several complaints about the horrific practices in the dog pound resulting in animal deaths and suffering, the Mayor of Plovdiv Slavcho Atanasov passed a decree according to which no NGO members or members of the press shall ever again be freely allowed to enter the pound, question staff members, photograph animals, revise documents or observe the daily running of the same. The Mayor also appointed as “third party” one of the cleaners in the pound, which is a conflict of interest and a recipe for corruption.
Furthermore we wrote to the District Attorney, the Chief Prosecutor, the Prime Minister and the President on twelve separate occasions, revealing facts that prove dozens of violations of the Penal Code by the management and staff members of the pound. Sadly enough our complaints have not been heard. Those responsible for enforcing the Law have failed miserably.
7. African nations should unite under stable government
Africa has ALOT of problems at the moment. Zimbabwe is suffering under tyrannical leadership of Robert Mugabe and is suffering all kinds of relationship problems, such as racial genocide, bankruptcy from lack of trade and constant wars. A huge part of the cause is the fact that the governments are insecure and cannot govern/be stable properly.
Stable government will generate more money for them as they will have a single currency, peaceful trade routes and less red tape. This will lead them out of poverty into a more developed society which will allow them to buy machines for farming-which will strongly reduce famine in that country! This will actually generate more money for the rest of the world and could even help get us out of global recession.
8. Save Rottweiler's and Doberman's From The Pain Caused By The RSPCA
In 2003 the RSPCA successfully banned the docking of the tails of dogs with the sad excuse that it hurts them, that it is un-necessary and that it's only done for looks. This completely un-informed statement has led to the suffering of many Rottweiler's and Doberman's.
I have worked with these dogs, both with the tails docked and the inhumane non-docked tails. These dogs have great personalities, however the dogs with the un-docked tails suffered back and hind leg problems caused by the weight of the tail, hygiene problems (with their natural cleanliness) which caused extreme pain, and repeated tail injury from working with cattle and from general dog life in the bush. I don't like to see these dogs suffer.
Two of these dogs had to be put down due to the problems that their tails had caused as their hind legs as well as the injuries to their tails caused by just being dogs, running and playing.
People die of child abuse. Children are beaten, it could be happening to someone you know! Your neighbour, your daughters friend,Etc.
10. Stop Circus Suffering in Greece
Every year a small or big circus comes in Greece. The government does nothing. They let them advertise everywhere and do whatever they want. This has to stop now!

The Animal Welfare Bill states that an animal’s needs shall be taken to include–
(a) its need for a suitable environment,
(b) its need for a suitable diet,
(c) its need to be able to exhibit normal behaviour patterns,
(d) any need it has to be housed with, or apart from, other animals, and
(e) its need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
"Guard dog" or "security dog" companies are listed in the yellow pages, just like any other company pitching a service or a product. The dogs are essentially treated like commodities that are leased and sold for profit.
As "working dogs", most guard dogs are given only the care required to ensure that they will be able to perform their so-called job. Anti-cruelty laws apply to guard dogs, but the insidious nature of the neglect which guard dogs are likely to endure makes their plight one that cannot be properly addressed by these laws. This is especially true since guard dog companies often "rotate" dogs, making it nearly impossible for anyone to closely monitor their condition.
Rotation is routine practice in the industry and is intended to keep guard dogs unfamiliar with their location in order to prevent them from becoming "too friendly" towards people in any given area.
Guard dogs are placed on vacant, run-down properties where they are regularly exposed to hazards including shattered glass, rotting garbage, insecure construction and malicious passers-by.
Owners of guard dog companies that lease and/or sell guard dogs are motivated by economic interests and the people with whom they contract are pre-occupied with protecting their property. The animals' interests are not taken into consideration in this business equation and suffer for it.

As well as a written request of the patient in addition, they draw up a detailed protocol of the final phase of their intervention. All the documents are given to the authorities of police force after the death of the person.

All over the world children are suffering from many different causes. Diseases and hunger are two of these suffering that many know about; but what about the ones that are not as talked about, child trafficking.
Nearly 18,000 to 20,000 men, women and children are trafficked in the United States alone. These children go through hours of sexual torment which can be stopped. We need to rally together to get these numbers down and we also need help to get this in action.

15. Fight Against Illegally Assisted-Suicide, Help Save Lives, Abolish Pro-Eating Disorder Websites

Each and every year, many women, of all ages, are killing themselves. These women and young girls are not committing suicide by hanging themselves or overdosing on pills. These women are suffering from anorexia nervosa. They are starving themselves to death.
However, these women are not doing it on their own; they are being aided in their slow suicide. This act of assisted suicide is illegal in 49 out of 50 states. With the help of pro-anorexia or, as they are more commonly called, "pro-ana" websites, visitors to these sites, usually young, female adolescents, looking to lose weight or who are already in the midst of an eating disorder, can obtain weight loss tips and tricks on how to hide their eating disorder from family and friends. These websites promote behaviors, which lead to osteoporosis, irregular heart beat, cardiac disease, seizures, nerve damage, heart attack and death.
Oregon is currently the only U.S. state, in which assisted-suicide is legal. Under the Death with Dignity Act, physicians are permitted to administer a lethal dose of medication to those suffering from a terminal illness. To qualify for physician-assisted suicide, one must meet a specific set of criterion. They must be at least 18 years of age, an Oregon resident, capable of making, as well as communicating health care decisions for themselves, and have been diagnosed with a terminal illness that will result in death in six month of less.
A terminal illness is an incurable disease, which is active, progressive and expected to lead to death. Anorexia is not a terminal illness. An anorectic showing up at an Oregon clinic wishing to receive assistance in ending her life, would be turned down, almost immediately, regardless of how much physical and emotional pain she was in, on the grounds that she did not meet the criteria of having a terminal illness. Though escaping from and living without an eating disorder may seem impossible to one who is suffering from an eating disorder, it is not impossible.
Anorexia can and has, many times, been cured. Though it is not easy to make a complete recovery, with the right treatment techniques and professionals, it is possible, even for those with the poorest of prognoses.
If suicide assisted by a physician is only legal in one state, and if anorexia does not meet the legal criteria, than the people who make these pro-ana websites, and those who offer these tips and tricks on "how to kill yourself", featured on these sites, have absolutely no right, legally, morally, or ethically, to be doing so. They are assisting others in suicide, which is something they have no right to be doing, seeing as we barely give medical doctors the right do so. Furthermore, to receive physician-assisted suicide, you must be of legal age to give consent.
Many of the girls who are visiting these websites are under the age of 18. They could not receive physician-assisted suicide if they were suffering from a terminal illness, therefore, it cannot possibly be legal for any stranger on the internet, who also may be under 18, to be assisting these young girls in their suicide attempts.
Research has shown that those who frequently visit pro-eating disorder websites spend more time in the hospital than those who do not visit these sites. These websites have very serious impacts on people. A young girl, thinking she is fat and needs to lose a few pounds, may stumble upon one of these websites. What happens next may be unthinkable. But, most likely she will look around the website, reading the various tips and tricks to drop weight quickly, but hide it from those around her. She will learn that you can eat whatever you want, but not gain a pound because you can purge yourself of the calories, using exercise, laxatives or vomiting. She will see pictures, or "thinspiration" of thin, rich, smiling, actresses and models.
What she will not see is pictures of emaciated bodies, with extremely dry skin and fine, laguno hair covering their bones. She will not see their eroding tooth enamel, or their ulcers, the dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. She will not see their thinning hair or heart arrhythmias. She will not see their hurt, their sadness and depression, or their broken hearts. She will not see their death. She will see the thin, glamorous models and actresses and wish to look like them. So, she will start to diet and lose weight, thinking she is in control of her actions. She will be recognized and praised for her weight loss, especially by the network of "friends" she has made through pro-ana websites.
They will encourage her to "keep up the good work" and not to "give in to the enemy (food) now". She will feel good about herself and think "I just want to lose five more pounds; Five more and then I will have the perfect body." However, she loses five more and the praise and positive comments and encouragement continue. Five turns into ten, ten into twenty, twenty into forty, forty into the hospital. All of a sudden, the young girl who just wanted to lose a few pounds and was in control of her diet, is now being controlled by her behaviors. She can't stop.
This is not one scenario, this is the course the majority of eating disorders take. This is the very reason why these websites need to be shut down. The rate of eating disorders is rising. The importance we place on beauty and our attitudes towards what we consider attractive, combined with websites such as these are contributing to the increasing prevalence of eating disorders. We must change our beauty ideal and shut down websites such as these, which are promoting self-starvation. Anorexia nervosa is a serious, life-threatening physical and an extremely emotionally painful disease that no one should ever have to experience.
Members of the pro-ana community may argue it is a violation of their rights to be censored. However, freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to help kill another person.

I, like millions of other Americans and people worldwide, have watched with horror over the past few days as the events in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast have unfolded. The images of suffering and neglect endured by some of our nation's most vulnerable have been seared into my memory and I will not soon forget them.
Mr. President, you have a long history of refusing to accept responsibility when the bungling of your administration and the failures of your policies have damaged our country, threatened our security and brought great harm to our people and to people throughout the world. From the debacle in Iraq to the ever rising number of people living in poverty in our country to the current abysmal failure to bring emergency assistance to New Orleans, you and your administration have repeatedly used any means possible to avoid being held accountable for your actions.
As a citizen who loves my country, I can no longer accept this. I am unwilling to tolerate the unnecessary suffering, death and destruction in New Orleans due to you and your administration's delayed and inept response.
There is no excuse for this appalling catastrophe. This time, you cannot attribute your own failure to someone else. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) website states the following: "In the event of a terrorist attack, natural disaster or other large-scale emergency, the Department of Homeland Security will assume primary responsibility on March 1st for ensuring that emergency response professionals are prepared for any situation. This will entail providing a coordinated, comprehensive federal response to any large-scale crisis and mounting a swift and effective recovery effort."
You are ultimately responsible for DHS; therefore, you bear the primary responsibility for your administration's failure to mount a swift and effective recovery effort.
No one could have prevented the damage caused by the hurricane. However, the results of the storm and its aftermath, including the potential for the flood control system in New Orleans to fail, were well known and well reported. On the Sunday before the storm struck, the National Weather service issued this bulletin:

In response to that warning, you chose to remain on vacation for another three days while the storm struck, the city flooded and the devastation mounted. Your Vice-President and Secretary of State also chose to vacation.
Mr. President, if I stayed on vacation while my employer faced one of its greatest threats ever, I would be fired.
Because of your incompetence and callousness, thousands of people lived though hellish conditions. Because of your policies, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had been gutted and political appointees with little to no prior experience in disaster management had been placed in charge of FEMA long before Katrina ever struck. Because FEMA could not respond appropriately and in a timely manner, thousands in New Orleans died. Many more lost loved ones.
Mr. President, since it appears that your vacations are very important to you, I invite you to remain on vacation permanently.
For gross incompetence, negligence, lack of compassion and demonstrable policy failure, I and those who have signed below demand that you resign immediately. We also demand the resignations of Vice-President, Dick Cheney; Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice; Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff; and Under Secretary for FEMA, Michael Brown.

19. Stop Horse Slaughter in the U.K.
I have created this petition to make the slaughter of horses illegal in the UK. Most horses destined for slaughter are sold at livestock auctions or sales. The cruelty of horse slaughter is not limited to the act of killing the animals. Horses bound for slaughter are shipped, frequently for long distances, in a manner that fails to accommodate their unique temperaments. They are usually not rested, fed, or watered during travel.
Economics, not humane considerations, dictate the conditions, including crowding as many horses into trucks as possible.
Often, terrified horses and ponies are crammed together and transported to slaughter in double-deck trucks designed for cattle and pigs. The truck ceilings are so low that the horses are not able to hold their heads in a normal, balanced position. Inappropriate floor surfaces lead to slips and falls, and sometimes even trampling.
Some horses arrive at the slaughterhouse seriously injured or dead. Although transportation accidents have largely escaped public scrutiny, several tragic ones involving collapsed upper floors and overturned double-deckers have caused human fatalities as well as suffering and death for the horses.
Before slaughter horses are supposed to be rendered unconscious prior to slaughter, usually with a device called a captive bolt gun, which shoots a metal rod into the horse's brain. Some horses, however, are improperly stunned and may still be conscious when they are hoisted by a rear leg to have their throats cut. In addition, conditions in the slaughterhouse are stressful and frightening for horses.
Horses of virtually all ages and breeds are slaughtered, from draft types to miniatures. Horses commonly slaughtered include unsuccessful race horses, horses who are lame or ill, surplus riding school and camp horses, mares whose foals are not economically valuable, and foals who are "byproducts" of the Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) industry, which produces the estrogen-replacement drug Premarin®. Ponies, mules, and donkeys are slaughtered as well.
Many of the horses that are purchased for slaughter were in good health, and bought for only a few hundred pounds.
The owners are often totally unaware of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.
20. Investigation into Workers' Compensation Boards in Canada
We the people of Canada respectfully request the Government of Canada to begin an investigation into all Workers' Compensation Boards in Canada in order to stop the suffering and persecution of hundreds of thousands of workers who have been injured on the job.

While death and suffering has been endemic throughout the history of the live export industry, Australia's relentless drive to expand its market for 'live exports' has resulted in a corresponding increase in casualties associated with the long-haul overseas trade in live cattle over the past 7 years.
With the resumption of the live sheep trade with Saudi Arabia in 2000, there are now even larger numbers being exported to the Middle East.
After the stress of transportation, all the surviving cattle and sheep face death on foreign soil, many into countries which have no animal welfare laws or, at best, inadequate laws.
They will usually be killed without pre-stunning and often even without adequate restraint facilities. Animals Australia has eye-witness harrowing accounts of slaughter facilities and methods.
The result is inherent and persistent suffering.

24. Inadequate Medical Care for Arkansas Prisoners
Prisoners are entitled to "adequate medical care". When a person is losing their sight, afflicted with tumors, and suffering from chronic intestinal hemorrhaging. Maalox and Tums can not treat nor cure the above ailments. If the prison would treat the prisoner at the onset of the illness, it is more cost-effective not to mention humane. Prisoners are dying of cancers . . . .a slow painful death and it seems as though the State could care less.
For those who DON'T know: PETA is People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the largest animal rights group around. The problems that have been plaguing the world by the Animal Rights movement is constantly hurt more by this organization and people unwilling to see the lies, and the support of terrorists groups, phony organizations, and even committing violent acts.
PETA has been accused several times of supporting terrorism in the name of their political agenda. PETA has denied this, but PETA's IRS 990 forms show that PETA donated to the Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front, the largest domestic terrorist groups in the U.S, which has confessed of committing over $10,000,000 worth of damage to buildings, defacing property, even mailing death threats, to spread its political agenda. PETA's donations are as following: $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front in 2001, $45,200 to Rodney Coronado, who was convicted of burning down a research lab. Another $25,000 in an un-returnable loan went to his father the previous year, $2,000 to David Wilson convicted of firebombing a bird co-op, $5,000 to Josh Harper, convicted of assaulting police, a firing at a fishing boat, and $ 1,500 to Fran Trutt convicted of attempting murder of a medical Doctor. Yes, attempted murder.
Even though PETA tries to cover up/deny any of these donations, the lies show right through. Now their tax-exempt status is at risk because of these donations. This organization is also responsible for pulling off publicity stunts, such as the shocking "Got Beer?!" campaign, which is supposed to make people believe that beer is better than milk. Another example of their extreme campaign was the billboard in Europe that claims that feeding children meat is child abuse. PETA's head cheese, Ingrid Newkirk, Vegan coordinator Bruce Friedrich, and other top PETA members have said things that make you wonder what planet they are from, and clearly shows their hatred towards other humans, and support for terrorist actions in the name of Animal Rights. For example;
· "Our nonviolent tactics are not as effective. We ask nicely for years and get nothing, someone makes a threat, and it works." - Ingrid Newkirk.
· "I openly hope that it comes here." - Ingrid Newkirk referring to mad cow disease.
· "We're looking for good lawsuits that will establish the interests of animals as a legitimate area of concern in law." - Ingrid Newkirk
- "If a girl gets sexual pleasure from riding a horse, does the horse suffer? If not, who cares? If you French kiss your dog and he or she thinks it's great, is it wrong? We believe all exploitation and abuse is wrong. If it isn't exploitation and abuse, it may not be wrong."

It's very disturbing to know that an organization like this could have so many heartening comments coming from their higher members. Bet you didn't know that Ingrid Newkirk admitted on a CNN interview that they [PETA] deliberately editing out certain portions of the videotape done at BoysTown in order to make it appear that the kitten in the video was suffering, when it was really coming out of anesthesia. You know that PETA runs large anti-meat/dairy/fishing/animals in medical research campaigns, but did you know that they get their information from a group called the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (AKA PCRM), which claims to be a group of "Doctors and laypersons working together for compassionate and effective medical practice, research, and health promotion." Evidence from Activist Cash (http://www.activistcash.com/) shows that physicians make up only 5% of its membership, and that the group's only physicians represent less than 0.5% of America's doctors. They also want to abolish animal use in lifesaving research and try to promote (and extremely enforce) Veganism, going as far to suggest that meat, eggs, and dairy can be labeled as "Weapons of mass destruction". This is completely ridiculous and false. PETA also claims to help the animals, which is hypnotically because according to a July 26, 2000, Associated Press story, out of the 2,103 animals that PETA "rescued" during 1999, a whopping 1,325 of them were euthanized because they couldn't find homes and shelters for these animals. Considering PETA's yearly income of over $10,000,000, don't you think that they should have been able to build a few shelters? To add to their hypocrisy, PETA pledged after 9-11 not to do extreme campaigns, but recently cranked out the new "Terrorism at the Table" campaign, comparing turkey slaughter to terrorism, featuring a turkey holding up a supermarket urging them to go vegetarian. To add to the hypocrisy, PETA members have been seen eating meat/wearing leather and fur, and the celebrities supporting PETA in campaigns, have also supported what they were shown as against. To conclude, all we say is to think long and hard about this essay. You make the decisions, but your decision may affect the future, and whether PETA takes over and our freedoms and lifestyle become obsolete based on hearsay, and propaganda created to get some attention. The choice is yours. PETA, if you listen to us please stop the madness. You are hurting your cause, and your group. Stop the madness before it's too late.
26. Stop Famous Players' Promotion of Pappas Furs
Famous Players, one of North America's largest movie exhibiting companies, has been promoting Pappas Furs Designers Ltd. We need your support in persuading Famous Players to stop its promotion of this company because of the extreme and obscene cruelty that is inflicted on animals by the fur industry.
Fur bearing animals endure hideous suffering and death. They are caught in the wild with snares, leghold and conibear traps and endure excruciating
pain. Death is not swift. In a desperate attempt to escape, many try to chew their limbs off, or languish for hours or even days until the trapper returns, only to be beaten or clubbed to death if they are still alive. Others die of infection or become prey to other animals.
Fur farms (more like fur factories) subject animals to a life time of suffering and a horrific death. Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives in small, filthy
cages, madly pacing back and forth out of stress and boredom. Cannibalism is
often the grim reality of this psychological distress. There is no humane slaughter legislation to protect these animals. Fur farmers use gruesome killing methods that include gassing, suffocation, neck breaking, anal and vaginal electrocution.
Furthermore, contrary to the deceitful claims of the fur industry, fur is
not an eco-friendly product. Snares, leg hold and conibear traps are
indiscriminate and often 2-10 non-targeted animals are caught some of which are members of endangered species. Even cats and dogs fall victim to these traps. In addition, the fur industry relies on the heavy use of toxic caustic acids to treat pelts which would otherwise rot as fur garments.
Please sign our petition and help us send a clear, strong message to Famous Players that they should adhere to the business of bringing entertainment to the public and not be involved in the promotion of this brutal and deceitful industry.

Please find the compassion in your heart and souls to put an end to the heartbreak and suffering of all the families and friends of the victims on both sides.
28. Say "no" to sanctions and War Against Iraq
In Iraq, infant and child mortality has doubled in the past 12 years - 1 in 5 children in south and central Iraq are chronically malnourished - Iraqi hospitals in areas heavily bombed by US and UK planes during the Gulf War are full of children dying from a cancer - epidemic and many babies are born with congenital malformations. The Iraqi national literacy rate has dropped 22% over the past 12 years There continues to be regular bombing of Iraq by the US and UK - wounding and killing Iraqi citizens.
When asked whether the death of 500,000 Iraqi children was worth the price of implementing sanctions, the US Ambassador to the UN, Madeleine Albright, said "it was worth the price". We campaign as a women-only group in order to create a space in which women, from all nationalities, feel comfortable expressing themselves and acting together. The economic sanctions which affect ordinary Iraqis must be separated from diplomatic and military sanctions against the regime War is not the way to fight terrorism on a global scale, nor is it the way to improve the plight of the Iraqi people. Opposing sanctions is not the same as supporting the Iraqi regime - Opposing sanctions is supporting the Iraqi people 'If people could hear and see what is being done in their names in Iraq, they would be outraged. It had good health care and education, modern tele-communications, water treatment and electricity systems. But it also had a dictatorial, oppressive regime which the Iraqi people neither elected nor were able to remove from power. Economic, military and political sanctions were imposed when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 - 'the most comprehensive in history' according to a US State Department official. 12 years later they are still in place. Sanctions, far from weakening the government, have helped it to keep control over an exhausted and desperate population. Saddam Hussein is still in power and is still carrying out massive human rights violations. Iraq is now one of the least developed, most damaged countries in the world. At least half a million children under 5 have died because of economic sanctions and countless others continue to suffer. Goods have been scarce, prices high and it is ordinary people who are suffering most. Disease, child mortality and malnutrition are rocketing because food, essential medicines and clean water are often unavailable or unaffordable. The UN has recently accepted a new so-called 'smart sanctions' proposal sponsored by the US and the UK. 'Smart sanctions' may allow more goods into the country, but will do nothing to increase the purchasing power of ordinary people or provide the means to reconstruct the country's shattered infrastructure. In emphasising the two most import causes of the humanitarian crisis - poverty and poor public infrastructure - Tun Myat, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq has said: 'No matter how much you try and modify (the existing UN humanitarian programme) it is not designed for - and it will never be - a substitute for normal economic activity... I consider water and sanitation to be the biggest killer of children in this country." Without resources or spare parts, roads, power plants and sewage works, many of which were targeted in the Gulf War, remain unrepaired and have a devastating impact on the health and well-being of Iraqi people. With the decline in normal economic activity, there has been a huge increase in poverty, high unemployment and very low salaries. Many people are so poor that they have to sell part of the food ration - the only income they receive. Sanctions have also torn at the social fabric of Iraqi life, creating an increase in violent crime, divorce and prostitution. Women are risking backstreet abortions or abandoning their babies because they know they won't be able to feed them and there has been an increase in street children. Iraq has also suffered an intellectual embargo. For 12 years no educational or research materials have been allowed in and about four million Iraqis have fled, creating a terrifying brain drain. Participation in education at all levels has declined and the illiteracy rate has risen sharply. The 1991 Gulf War has left a fatal legacy of depleted uranium carried in the warheads of missiles released during the blanket bombing in the south of Iraq. It will cost a fortune to clear up and even then it will be too late for the many Iraqi children suffering from leukaemia and related cancers.
Many children are born with malformations so severe that they do not live. Several high-ranking UK officials working in the country have resigned in protest at this misguided policy. Britain, is now threatening to extend the 'war on terrorism' to Iraq. 29. Liberate Donegal
The purpose of this petition is to re-dress the suffering that the people of Donegal have suffered since the government of the UK took the very wise step of partitioning the island of Ireland to ensure that the right of self-determination of the people of what is now called Northern Ireland was respected.
Unfortunately, when Northern Ireland was created, Donegal was not included in the part of Ireland that wished to stay in the UK. The problem since then has been that although Donegal is a large part of the geographical north of Ireland, it is not part of Northern Ireland. This causes great confusion as the people of Donegal are excluded from the commonly used term 'northerners' despite many of them living in the most northerly parts of the island. 'Northerners' is commonly used to describe the people of Northern Ireland.
This petition demands that this suffering should be put to an end, by making Donegal part of Northern ireland. The government of the Republic of Ireland should take immediate steps to hand over Donegal to the government of the UK, so that all the people in the geographical north of Ireland will become 'northerners' - ie citizens of Northern Ireland.
Note that this petition only calls for action re the county of Donegal. The people of Northern Ireland do not want county Monaghan because it is full of troublemakers.
