Petition Tag - store
In 2006 Sony lunch PS3. It's a successful game console and widely reached the whole world including our country Bahrain.
Every one brought it, and while Sony opens PSN stores around the world it didn't open a store for us. After six years of waiting it hasn't happened.
That’s why we need this petition.
2. NO to Nuclear Waste stored at Lucas Heights
Please download and read our pamphlet, and send it to your family and friends - http://bit.ly/LpxQpw
In the 1990’s, the nuclear waste from Lucas Heights was sent to France for re-processing. Under contracts signed by the Australian Government in the 90’s, Australia is obliged to take back its waste, from France and the UK by the end of 2015. Approximately 13.2 cubic metres of intermediate nuclear waste will be stored in a $30 million purpose-built facility at Lucas Heights for a maximum of 5 years.
This decision of such importance has managed to fall under the radar and as far away from the public eye as possible.
According to David Sweeny of The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF), “just
because the waste has been reprocessed, doesn’t mean it is safe.” He is quoted as saying that it is “a contaminated cocktail of various radioactive elements and isotopes and some of these last for many thousands of years and pose a very significant radiology hazard and human health hazard.”
Sydney residents do not feel safe with this radioactive waste being stored within close proximity to their homes. It appears to be a possible terrorist target or a national disaster waiting to happen.
Local residents are unaware as to what was planned for Lucas Heights and the majority have no idea what is going on. Once informed there response is "how do we go about stopping this and what can I do to help". This does not appear to be a well informed community in favor of Lucas Heights being used as a nuclear waste storage facility.
Another issue is how temporary is temporary? The Federal Government has had 30 years to decide where to store this radioactive waste and to date the best
they can come up with is a five year plan for it to be stored at Lucas Heights. ANSTO insists that the facility will only provide “interim” storage for the waste however this is extremely debatable.
It appears that the Federal Government is applying a quick fix solution to an extremely important national issue. To date they have been unable to establish the
location of where the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility will be, so who’s to say they will in 7 years time.
Why put it in a densely populated area like Lucas Heights which is within a 30 km radius of Sydney’s CBD, just because it is the easiest and cheapest solution for the interim. Why aren’t the Government seeking a viable long term solution now, they still have until the end of 2015. Australia is one of the world’s most geologically stable continents with many sparsely populated locations that would be perfect sites for the storage of radioactive waste.
The Australian Government has a responsibility to the next generation to find a viable solution now.
3. Keep Jorgensens BP On M91 in Greenville Open
The customers of BP Jorgensens would like to see the gas station/ store stay open.
We have been inconvenienced with the store hours changing and were glad to see them change back, but we are now deeply sad to see the store is closing.
Please keep this store open for the continued fast customer service and good location and benefit of the small store.
4. Properly Regulate Alcohol Sales and Brown Bagging
This is our present city ordinance.
It shall be unlawful for a convenience store, service station or other type of retail establishment holding a permit authorizing the sale of beer and light wine for off-premises consumption to:
(1) To sell beer or light wine to any person between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Monday through Saturday, and between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
(2) To permit consumption of beer or light wine on the premises of the store or retail establishment.
(3) To sell, give or furnish beer or light wine to any person visibly intoxicated or to any insane person, or to any habitual drunkard, or to any person under the age of twenty (21) years.
(4) To permit on the premises any lewd, immoral, or improper entertainment, or conduct or practices.
(5) To permit or suffer gambling or the operation of games of chance upon the licensed premises unless otherwise allowed by the Mississippi Gaming Act.
(6) To receive, possess or sell on the premises any beverage of any kind or character containing more than five (5) percent alcohol by weight.
(7) To display or sell beer or light wine from an ice tub or similar container, other than a mechanical refrigeration unit.
This is our present city ordinance. There are some people in our community that would like to change the ordinance due to the fact they say we are losing much needed sales tax revenue to the county and Louisiana, where beer and light wine can be purchased all day, every day.
5. Barn aside Bottom Farm, Beacon Hill, Penn
If you care about our AONB, please sign this petition by March 30, 2010.
The Barn aside Bottom Farm (at the bottom of Beacon Hill) is owned by a Ferrier with horses located in a field (owned by Sita Waste Management Company) behind his residence in Denham. The official application for this barn on Beacon Hill is to store farming vehicles and hay for his farm in Denham!
The barn is larger than in the submitted drawings, and is almost complete, even though planning permission has not been granted yet.
No doubt you have seen the lorries up and down the lane. Local residents have witnessed waste materials delivered and burnt on site.
If this barn is really for storage of large farming vehicles and for hay both required by horses in Denham, then there will be frequent haulage of large vehicles on Beacon Hill.
There may be an ulterior motive with this building.
In 2006 the owner had a plan rejected by the Denham Council for a similar styled barn to be used as a Sand School and hay store. Sand School/Dressage training may be a possible connection with this construction.
Nevertheless, it certainly is an eye sore in an AONB for the many walkers who pass by.
If you are resident of Penn/Tylers Green, you can sign this petition to have your say. It must be done by March 30, 2010.
6. Get Sony to create a PS3 mini app market
The PS3 could do with more applications, like Facebook support for example. This petition calls for the following solution to this problem; it calls for a Software Development Kit to be released free to the general public where people can easily create mini applications for the Playstation that would run inside an Application Manager program created by Sony; an app market to allow people to download the many applications that would be created, and this would be moderated by Sony themselves who could check applications much in the same way as Apple do.
7. Request for a no Loitering Ordinanace near the Low Cost Liquor Store
Several people are meeting at or near the Low Cost Liquor Store located at the corner of San Pablo Ave and Bancroft Way to party, drink, and sell drugs. There have been as many of 5 to 35 of these people at a time. Many neighborhood home owners and residents, are complaining of their excessive noise until 3 am, as well as their trash and broken bottles in our streets. Some of the residence are afraid to leave their homes during these parties, and have experienced harassment, or threats made against them.
8. Super Target store in New Orleans East
Seems like all the big chains abandoned us after Katrina. Let's start with a different look for our city.
TESCO are proposing to open a giant 130,000 ft2, 24 Hour Tesco Extra store at Wallneuk Industrial Estate on Renfrew Road.
The development will be outside the town centre.
The store will be bigger than all other supermarkets in Paisley combined.
The site will cater for over 700 car parking spaces
As a Tesco Extra, it is set to be far bigger than an ordinary food retail outlet. It will turn over hundreds of thousands of pounds per week by selling close to a hundred thousand different goods, not just groceries, but clothing, electrical goods, entertainment goods and many other household items.
Stop Tesco Owning Paisley says that:
This development should be opposed on several grounds, some generally against supermarket development and some specific to the proposals for Paisley.
10. Hastings MI Wal-Mart should be a Supercenter
Wal-Mart needs to expand their Wal-Mart store to include full line grocires.
11. Keep Factory Card and Party Outlet in Williamsville
Factory Card and Party Outlet has been serving western New York for many years now. It has thousands of valued customers that come not only for the merchandise, but for the smiles on the employees faces.
Corporate has decided to close the store that is located in Williamsville.
12. Bring Publix to John Burruss Rd and Hwy 369 (Matt Hwy), Forsyth County, Georgia
Matt, Silver City and Coal Mountain areas of Forsyth County, Georgia have very few quality grocery store options within close proximity to our homes.
We are a growing community with many new residents and many more new residents to come. We are strategically located and growing at a faster than average rate.
We believe a Publix supermarket at the intersection of John Burruss Road and Hwy 369 (Matt Hwy) is needed in our community. This intersection is easily accessible and most centrally located to our homes and the new residential communities under development.
A Publix supermarket at this intersection will improve the quality of life for our residents.
13. No to 7-11 store @ 861 N. Sunset Avenue, La Puente, CA
This new business will cause undue hardship on the local residence of this neighborhood due to the sale of Alcohol and the 24 hour service this establishment offers.
It will create unnecessary traffic, noise, lights, litter, gang activity, loitering, graffiti, vandalism, and crime.
14. KEEP THE WALGREENS STORE OPEN ON MICHIGAN BLVD
THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD THAT DEPEND ON THAT STORE, SOME OF WHOM HAVE TO WALK TO GET THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS. THERE WILL NOT BE A WALGREENS STORE FOR ALL THE RIVERBOAT TRAFFIC THAT COMES THROUGH.
THERE WILL BE NO WALGREENS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE IN AND AROUND LONG BEACH. THE MAJORITY OF YOUR REGULAR CUSTOMERS WILL BE FORCED TO SHOP AT CVS WHICH WILL BE THE ONLY PHARMACY TO COVER OVER APPROXIMATELY TEN NEIGHBORHOODS. WHILE THERE WILL BE TWO WALGREENS AND ONE CVS ALL ON THE SAME STREET.
A petition for a big box store like Wal-Mart in Heber Valley.
16. Hollister store for Carlsbad New Mexico!
Since Carlsbad New Mexico is pretty much the smallest place on earth..I say we should make a Hollister here at our so called mall. The closest place that we can buy hollister clothes is lubbock texas which is over two hours away!
17. Prevention of Influencial Neighborhood Store Closing
The residents of 17th West Oxford Street is writing this petition in reference to the closing of our neighborhood store. For the pass few years this store has served our community and created a positive environment for our community.
Having this store within our community provide a convenient and exciting outlet for their customers. If this store was to be terminated it would create a negative prospection in the community.
With signing this petition you will be supporting the remaining open and continue serve within the community.
18. Save Wal-Mart's Fabric Department at Jacksonville, Florida
While shopping on Thursday, December 21, 2006 in our local Walmart Store located at 6830 Normandy Blvd, in Jacksonville, Florida, 32205, in their fabric department, I commented to one of the employees that I was so grateful and glad that Walmart provided such an affordable and well-stocked fabric department.
I was informed that soon after the 1'st of the year (2007) the fabric department was being closed. Dismayed and extremely upset, I spoke with the Assistant Manager on duty that day, and he verified that they had just received notification of the pending closure.
UPDATE: JANUARY 7, 2007
While shopping in the latter part of December, at the Yulee, Florida Walmart Super Center, located just outside of Fernandina Beach, Florida, we were informed by an employee that parties in the fabric department had been given information that a large number of pending closures/substanitial changes were coming to Walmart fabric departments across the country. This information did not come from a store manager and therefore could be construed as unreliable and hearsay. The only reason that we're passing it along is because in the event that it IS true, we feel it's valuable information with regard to our petition.
19. Keep Paul Cox
Paul Cox has been the store manager at SouthRidge McDonald's for almost three years now. He has come through a lot to get where he is today. After all of his hard work he is being forced to step down to an Assistant Manager.
This man has been there for all of us, so lets not let him down now, let's keep him where he belongs.
20. Stop Inflated Pricing @ Maxi
July 4, 2006
Cette pétition doit essayer et arrêter les augmentations énormes des prix qui sont mises en effet par cet IE de magasin : "MAXI DOLLARD"
This petition is to try and stop the huge price increases that are put in effect by this store ie: " MAXI DOLLARD "
June 9, 2006
I live in a small city in Ontario where there are many low-income families.
Our local Goodwill store has been a place we have been able to count on as a resource for a range of household items which we would otherwise be unable to attain.
Recently a VP from Toronto announced
that they would be closing our retail outlet and moving it to another city.
We are very upset.
22. Positive Stomachs, Positive Minds, Positive People
June 5, 2006
This document is a ballet of request launched to the facility, managers, and employees of the Mnt. Tabor Country Store in the order of a delivery request.
The town of Danby and nearby Mnt tabor folks are looking for a delivery food service which in hopes you may provide. A 5-10 mile distant delivery radius would be manageable and generously welcomed into our small family base town. Residents who use this system would pay a fee of the stores decided charge of delivery and in general but this would make nothing more profit and sales towards this organization.
Not only is this for the residents who are able to walk or able to find transportation, this would be a great beneficial ordeal for elderly and as well as those who have troubles getting around or finding ways around.
We (the town) hope with this knowledge we can revolutionize the food system in this area and take the extra leap of accomplishment. We thank you for the time you have taken to read this.
23. Save The Garment District!
The Garment District on 200 Broadway is a thrift store in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Even though the building is very old, it has still become a localwide landmark for many years.
The store is a very well-known place to go for vintage clothing, Halloween costumes and other great finds.
If luxury apartments sprout up where the Garment District stands, then Cambridge will lose part of what makes this a great city: History.
By making the building a historical landmark, the store will continue to strive and keep running throughtout our present generation and our future generation to come.
24. We Want a Lidl Store in the Drogheda Area
Lidl To Open In Drogheda Immediately If RGDATA Were To Remove Their Appeal.
The Lidl discount food store has made a commitment to commence construction of their store at the new M1 Retail Park if RGDATA were to withdraw their appeal.
The people of Drogheda could have to wait for a further six months before receiving a decision from An Bord Pleanala.
After receiving the approval form Drogheda Borough Council on the 7th July last the people of the town were so disappointed to find out that RGDATA could prevent Lidl from opening in Drogheda like this."
Lidl who's closest store would be in Balbriggan is due to open in Ardee and Dundalk within the next three months leaving Drogheda the largest town in the country without a store yet again. The company confirmed through survey's carried out on its Balbriggan store that over 40% of its business was from Drogheda showing a high level of leakage from the town.
Who are RGDATA you ask?
RGDATA- Supervalu / Spar / Centre / Londis / Mace and Cost Cutters are all local members of this organisation.
Considerable pressure is mounting on local RGDATA representatives to remove the appeal lodged against Lidl granting of planning permission.
RGDATA have stated that this is a Board policy to object and lodged appeals on all applications for discount food stores that are not located in town centres throughout the Country. Why can RGDATA who supposedly represent the smaller food stores try and delay or even prevent the development of a Lidl store in Drogheda after its has the backing of the Council Planners, Councillors and the people.
25. Stop Dollar Generals Sprawl
Dollar General has a new business plan, infest into smaller cities and overwhelm them with a Dollar General store on every corner of the city. About 3 or 4 stores within 4 square miles is average.
That's not "progress" that's over flooding the market. Not to mention they are putting the stores up in residential neighborhoods.
They are buying up small lots in residential neighborhoods and rezoning the lot commercial if necessary. Then they are building about 8 - 9,000 square foot buildings infesting into neighborhoods.
This petition is to tell Dollar General that we don't want your stores in rural residential neighborhoods! Put them in retail strip malls where they belong! One is being fought in Medina, OH where the dumpsters are about 30 feet form residents bedroom windows and retail/commercial traffic will now be coming in and out of this small residential establishment.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH Dollar General! This kind of business practice will guarantee your companies failure long-term.
They sneak into town quickly and quietly and before you know it one morning you wake up to construction equipment out your bedroom window. Watch out, your neighborhood could be NEXT! They are on the move putting up 700+ stores a year.
26. Allow More Than Four Teens in The Chill Pill at Once
Store Owner has not allowed more than four teens in his store, The Chill Pill Restaurant, at once.
27. Stop the Wal-Mart Supercenter
*Wal-Mart is planning to upgrade its Miles City location to a Supercenter, which adds groceries to its product line.
*The population of greater Miles City is comprised of roughly 11,000 persons and is forecast to contract due to out-migration during the next ten years.
*There are already three large grocery stores currently serving the greater Miles City area.
*Therefore, the addition of a Wal-Mart Supercenter to our market would likely decrease the market share of each of the existing grocery stores to critical levels and would put at least one regional grocery store out-of-business.
*When Wal-Mart moved its discount store to Miles City, several locally-owned independent retail stores were closed within months as a result of Wal-Mart's predatory pricing.
*Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer and second-largest corporation with annual revenue exceeding $245 billion, which equals the gross domestic product of five northern European nations.
*Wal-Mart controls 25-30% of the sales of consumer products in all categories.
*On average, Wal-Mart sales clerks earn $13,861 per year. The poverty line in the U.S. is $14,630 for a family of three.
*Wal-Mart is being sued by 1.6 million former female employees for systematically denying women equal pay and opportunities for promotion.
*Wal-Mart purchased $12 billion worth of Chinese goods in 2002, representing 10% of all U.S. imports from China.
*For each Wal-Mart employee hired in Miles City, it is estimated that seven jobs are lost from locally-owned businesses.
