Guys I am starting a petition. I know you get 100 spams a day but this one is started by me, John May in a request for Midland/Odessa Residents to start a petition demanding something be done with Grandecom and KMID. Here is a scoop on the situation:
As of January 1, 2006 Grandecom will not be allowed to carry KMID's (ABC) signal. KMID all of a sudden decided to demand anywhere from 1-3 cents a day for every subscriber of Grandecom for their use of KMID's signal. Remember this is a FREE signal that Grandecom does NOT charge for. Yes you can pay like 10 dollars a month for local stations but the coverage you get with Cable FAR exceeds the signal you get with an Antenna. They are not making money off KMID's services they are making money for offering you a usable signal.
Just because you use a different Cable Company does not mean you should not sign this petition. This is a petition for the right for smaller companies to compete and for local citizens of Ector and Midland County to be able to receive the same benefits that larger counties receive for free. Cox and Cableone have been trying to scare you away from smaller cable companies for years. Why? Because they are inferior? No. Because they don't want to loose profits AND by having competition they are forced to actually spend money on customer service and listen to customer complaints.
This is the same as TXU trying to scare us away from buying electricity from other companies. I've been with a smaller company since the de-regulation and haven't had any of the problems TXU promised and scared us with.
The way I see it Grandecom AND KMID are both to blame for this. KMID and Grandecom both refuse to give up greed to satisfy customers complaints.
Please sign my petition requesting KMID and Grandecom begin renegotiations and that no stoppage in coverage occurs or if it does we will be forced to have a complete boycott of all services KMID and Grandecom currently offer. Remember if you are not a Grande Com customer this still effects you. This will lead to hire rates with whoever you pay for cable. Why? Whoever stays with KMID will not be forced to pay a premium because they will have the "exclusive" right to offer you a useable signal. Please send this to everyone you know in the effected area. Ask them to forward it on to anyone they know. All responses with signatures can go to john@maylink.net. I will comprise an alphabetical list of names and forward it to the appropriate people at both KMID and Grandecom.
Remember this email is asking for your support of our local community. This is a request for KMID and Grandecom to disregard their problems and come together without excuses to offer the Permian Basin customers our local stations at a reasonable rate.
If they refuse or continue to just point fingers we will in return boycott all services provided by both companies.
2. Refuse Road Paving of Memory Lakes Estates
Last year the Homeowners Association for the Memory Lakes Estates Area of Wasilla Alaska set forth to try and vote in to have the roads paved. The vote lost. However, this year they are trying to "rig" the vote by breaking the areas up into smaller regions of the neighborhood, so that they don't need as many votes and can push this through more easily.
This is exceptionally unfair to the homeowners in the area, especially since they will be required to pay a minmum of $500.00 for soemthing they don't even want. The associattion has also let the roads detioriate in order to try and force the fact that they need to be paved.
3. Divide Large Lottery Jackpots Into Smaller $1m Draws Ontario Canada
Hats off to the OLGC as its gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreation, education, charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
However, with some lotteries reaching huge amounts and the high odds of winning the jackpot, many people have expressed their desire that the lottery corporation divide the amount into smaller lottery draws which would generate better odds of winning. For example, the odds of winning the Lotto 6/49 jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816. With 10 draws of 1 million dollars your odds are 10 times better.
4. Choice of Math Courses at Alberta Learning
Students are required to take a 30 level Math course to recieve a diploma. However, the requirement for Science courses is only 15 credits. After completing a 10 level Science course, students may choose to focus their education on physics, chemistry, or biology. This should be the same for Math. The curriculum contains so many formulas and calculations that the only reason someone would be required to know ALL of this is if they became a math teacher. Math courses should be seperated into smaller sectors or categories so that a student may enroll in the course that best fits their career plans. For example, a student aspiring to be a writer would not be required to learn the equations needed to become an engineer. Rather, they could take one of these specific category math courses (a basic math course for example that will teach only things to get you by in life) and be able to focus on their english or social social studies courses.
Many people go on to forget or not apply most of these teachings, unless their career choice involves math. Even still, those that require math for their careers only require knowledge of certain portions of the teachings, hardly ever all portions.
5. Football Fans against ITV Digital
With news that ITV Digital has now gone bust and the remaining games to be 'sold' off to the highest bidder, this surely means the end for many of the smaller clubs who were depending on the revenue. It is time the Football Association took charge of the total domination of certain media companies in the United Kingdom which only allow the fat cats to get fatter whilst the smaller, less well known clubs are left to fend for themselves again.
6. People Against A Big Middle School For Scripps Ranch
Are you aware that the property for the proposed Scripps Ranch middle school site is significantly smaller - half the size of Wangenheim - even though the number os students is greater than Wangenheim?
7. New QWTF server provided by Bluep
Show your support for a new QWTF server to be maintained by smaller clans, I'm sick of admins treating the servers like they are there own, not following the wishes of the booked person/clan and smaller clans forever being kicked off because of there 'leet' clan is more important.
