32. Take Howard Sattler off the airwaves
I have had enough.
Howard Sattler is a talkback radio host in Perth.
He treats his callers with disrespect
He treats his interviewees like common criminals
He is arrogant in tone
He demonstrates ignorance on a number of issues
I wonder how many people feel the same way? Maybe thousands of other 6PR listeners do. There is only one thing I have heard Howard say that I have ever agreed with, and that is that power is with the people.
If you agree with me that it is time for Howard to go, please sign the petition and send a link for this petition to your freinds.
This petition is launched on 3 June 2010. It will stay open for approximately 2 months.
Power to the people.
33. Save 2RRR - Community Radio
2RRR, one of Australia's oldest community radio stations and breeding ground for dozens of professional radio announcers and home of creative and innovative radio content for decades is in serious trouble.
In March the board was notified that the land our transmitter and tower is housed on is to be sold by the leaseholder, Sydney Water. This means the station will have to cease broadcasting if an alternative cannot be found quickly. It took until late April for the board to communicate this to the members and that was only after the information was leaked onto the 2RRR members yahoogroup, a site that since has been routinely ignored by the board despite there being over 50 members on the list including a wealth of former and current board members.
Since that time the board through either inaction or otherwise have engaged in a PR war with the leaseholder in the local papers and have trumped receiving a letter from Sydney Water that appreciates our situation but offers no solution as a triumph in the battle.
We cannot allow our station to vanish from the spectrum without a real fight. We stand for better governance and a board that is competent when negotiating 2RRRs future.
We believe in open communication and support debate and discussion. We are committed to saving the station we love and not letting it go down on basis of the ego or myopia of one or more board members.
Jet set radio, Possibly the BEST game ever on dreamcast, same goes with JSRF and JGRA except different systems. Now I know a bunch of people want more, maybe for wii, I dunno. At least just make a new one for any system! If you own any of these games and you think they're the best EVER (or you just love them) support this!
35. Keep Football Fever on the air!
Australia's premier football show for over six years, Football Fever, founded by Paul Williams is to go to air for the final time on March 28th on SkySports Radio 1017AM.
The show is THE source for A-League and international world football news on the Australian airwaves. With the 2010 World Cup in South Africa fast approaching, football fans and Sky Sports Radio NEED Football Fever to stay on the air!
Sunday nights just would not be the same without Damo, Francis, Les and Terazio - not to mention Mr Modrich, fellow emailers and callers!
Express your support for the show and let SKY SPORTS RADIO know about the loss that FOOTBALL FEVER will be to their program schedule.
36. Oak Ridge Boys - Play Mama's Table
I would love to hear the OAKS on all radio stations again!
The Oak Ridge Boys formed in 1945 as the Oak Ridge Quartet. They became popular during the 1950s. Their name was changed to the Oak Ridge Boys in the early 1960s. The band's current lineup consists of lead singer and second tenor Duane Allen, baritone William Lee Golden, tenor Joe Bonsall, and bass Richard Sterban.
37. Kathi McDonald Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Kathi McDonald's landed the vocalist her first big professional gig when she was attending a concert and joined in as part of the audience. McDonald's powerful voice drew Ike Turner's notice in a club called the Winterland, and he invited the aspiring singer to his and Tina Turner's next rehearsal. McDonald had snagged a ...spot in the Ikettes, the Turners' backing group. It was a heady and magical beginning for someone who never had any formal lessons.
Born in Washington state in 1948, McDonald performed professionally for the first time around Seattle when she was 12 years old. At the age of 19 she set off for San Francisco and its burgeoning musical climate, where she met the Turners and, through her association with them, took the first step on a career path that would span more than four decades.
Not long after the evening at Winterland, her talent caught the attention of Big Brother & the Holding Company's Sam Andrew. McDonald threw her lot in with the band in 1969, leading to appearances on the albums Can't Go Home Again, How Hard It Is, and Be a Brother. She went on to sing with Mad Dogs & Englishmen for Joe Cocker, and later sang with Leon Russell's Shelter People. Her session work included recordings for such artists as the Rolling Stones, Nils Lofgren, Rita Coolidge, Delaney & Bonnie, and Dave Mason. Her work for other musical artists totals up to appearances on almost 160 albums, more than six dozen of which achieved gold status. In addition, McDonald also launched a solo career in 1974 with the release of the album Insane Asylum. The recording was arranged by Pete Sears, whose formal band associations include Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship.
Insane Asylum featured performances by Tower of Power, the Pointer Sisters, Aynsley Dunbar, John Cippolina, Neil Schon, and Ronnie Montrose. Kathi did not release another solo effort for 20 years, when Save Your Breath appeared. Above and Beyond followed in 1999, featuring contributions from Lee Oskar on harmonica and Brian Auger on keyboards. McDonald devoted more than two decades to recording and performing in collaboration with Long John Baldry, and the duo scored with their version of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" when it was released in Canada. The song reached number 2 in Australia and also made the US charts.
Aside from collaborative efforts Kathi has solo projects of her own: Insane Asylum(1974), David Briggs, producer of the second Alice Cooper album Easy Action and multiple early Neil Young discs is at the helm on Insane Asylum. With arrangements by The Jefferson Starship's Pete Sears, whose formal band associations include Hot Tuna this is a showcase for the chops and musicianship of McDonald. There's a terrific reading of the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" and an interesting first track co-written by McDonald and Pete Sears, "Bogart to Bowie," with Nils Lofgren on guitar and Bobbye Hall on percussion. The photos of McDonald on the back cover are chaotic and beautiful, a cartoon caricature of these adorns the cover, the illustration by Seiko Kashihara. With Ronnie Montrose on guitar and Pete Sears on keys for a heavy version of "(Love Is Like A) Heatwave," you basically have Big Brother & the Holding Company/ Montrose/Jefferson Starship covering Martha & the Vandellas. With what may be the best performance on the disc, "Threw Away My Love," the second Sears/McDonald original, Kathi's great, bluesy vocal fights and Journey's Neil Schon on guitar give the track tons of soul! "Freak Lover" features the late Starship violinist Papa John Creach and is appropriately manic for an album about insanity.
Willie Dixon's composition, "Insane Asylum," with Pete Sears and Nils Lofgren, is a blues workout deluxe. Neil Schon and Pete Sears accompany Kathi on a Peter Frampton tune, "All I Want to Be." Lofgren and Sears do a heavy cover of Neil Young's "Down to the Wire" for the singer to display her wonderful voice. There is an abundance of talent here, creating a nice platform for this important singer. Insane Asylum also featured performances by Tower of Power, the Pointer Sisters, Aynsley Dunbar, John Cippolina.
Her next solo project was Save Your Breath (1994), then Above And Beyond (1999) featuring contributions from Lee Oskar on harmonica and Brian Auger on keyboards. She reunited with Big Brother & the Holding Company in California for a concert on New Years Eve, 1997.
Her self-titled Kathi McDonald (2005) is a triumph in a long and prestigious career. This CD showcases the still incredible voice, timing, soulful delivery, and talent that is Kathi McDonald, the musician's choice as singer, the musician's musician, and still the biggest little white girl to ever sing the blues coming out of the West Coast. The main forces behind the CD, Pete Slauson and Ann Pierson (partners for years in the nineties at 2B1 Music, Maritime Hall, San Francisco, CA).
38. Ban music channels and radio stations from boycotting Chris Brown's music
Ban music channels and radio stations from boycotting Chris Brown's music simply because of his relationship with Rihanna
Since February 2009, a significant amount of radio stations and music channels have decided not to play Chris Brown's music due to what happened between him and Rihanna. His music and social life are two separate things. As none of us know the facts of what happened that night, we shouldn't be quick to judge and instantly boycott his music.
Signing this petition will help his music be played more reasonably and decently. This does not condone domestic violence. We all make mistakes and deserve to be forgiven.
Our mission is to stop the payment of royalties to record labels and artists for radio air play. Did you know that radio stations pay over $24,000 a year just in Royalties? Small radio stations can't afford to spend that kind of money.
This kind of unnecessary payment is killing radio in small town america. Sign this petition and help us stop this now before it claims another station!
40. Bring the X Factor auditions to the North East!
Joe McElderry's success on the X Factor has highlighted one important thing - the X Factor auditions don't come to Newcastle!
Tony Horne In The Morning on Metro Radio spoke to Joe about this - and Joe is fully with us - he's joining the fight to bring the X Factor 2010 auditions to Newcastle - but we need your help too.
Quoting Joe: "There's lots of talented people in the North East. A lot of my friends are singers and are amazing so I think they should do auditions in Newcastle." Hear Joe talking to us here: http://filesocial.com/o1r59m
TV companies work well in advance, so we need to get this campaign up and running now so that we can lobby the producers in time!
You can listen to Tony Horne In The Morning, weekdays from 6am and Sundays from 10, on Metro Radio.

42. More Airplay for Jimmy Wayne
The fans of singer Jimmy Wayne have requested his music -- by both phone and email -- at our local stations around the country. We have also been voting for his videos on the online polls on the websites of the two major video channels and asking them play the videos, both to no avail.
Save Free Radio! Do you love your radio stations – the music, news and traffic? Do you love getting your music for FREE? It’s all in danger! Everything you love about your radio station could be a thing of the past! Unless you act NOW! There are bills before congress that threaten free music on the radio.
The foreign owned record companies and misinformed artists want congress to establish a tax where stations would pay for the right to play music on the radio. This additional tax would change radio and put music radio stations in danger of going silent. Learn more…
Your radio station needs your help! By signing this petition and sending an e-mail to congress you are telling congress NOT to pass this tax on radio stations. Click below to sign the petition and save free radio! You also can make calls to your congressional leaders and email your friends.
44. Save the Kyle and Jackie O Show!
This petition is made in hopes of saving the Kyle & Jackie O Show, aired on AuStereo's 2DayFM netowrk, from being axed. The shows continuation of 2DayFM was compremised after a misunderstanding when a caller-through requested her daughter be interview on a lie detector.
45. Support Local Scottish Radio
A petition for Bauer Media to reinstate the DJs at tayam and tayfm axed due to the networking of radio shows with clyde1 and clyde2.

Unity Day was born in 1978 on Belmont Plateau and has since become the nation’s largest outdoor radio event. This keystone Philadelphia event celebrates family values, pride, and empowerment. Thirty years and counting. That’s how long WDAS FM’s world famous Unity Day has been going on, making it a part of Philadelphia history now.
WDAS recently announced that "due to the difficult economic times," the station could not produce Unity Day this year. Last week Clear Channel announced that John Rohm, who manages its stations in Pittsburgh, would also be market manager of the Philadelphia cluster, which consists of WDAS, Power 99, Q102, Radio 104.5, Rumba 1480, and My106.1.
47. 1 More Match with Terry Funk
We are Ringside Radio would like to See Terry Funk have 1 more match in any Wrestling Organization.
48. Stop Removal of Christian content from Television and Radio
An organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the removal of Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah and other pastors from the airwaves by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington , D.C.
Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the gospel of our Lord and the removal of all Christmas programs and Christmas carols on the airwaves of America. They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand!
If this attempt is successful, all Sunday worship services being broadcast so that hose who are unable to attend services will no longer be able to get them on the radio or television. You as a Christian can help! We are praying for at least 1 million signatures to defeat their efforts. Christians we must unite on this. We ignored one lady once and lost prayer in our schools and offices across the nation.
Please stand up for your religious freedom and let your voice be heard. Together we can make a difference.
49. Bring back Justin Brown to Classic Hits 97.4!
Justin Brown - Co-Host of the Classic Breakfast on Classic Hits 97.4 announced last week that he was leaving to pursue his career as an author!
I think the show isn't the same without him, we miss his songs, his cheeky humour and perfect comedic timing already.... come back Justin!!!!!!!

51. Don't let Global Radio re-brand Ocean FM
Some of you may have heard that GCap Media were brought by Global Radio for around £375 Million in June 2008. Since then, Global have started re-branding some local stations.
On Friday 21st November, Global Radio re-branded Power FM (103.2fm), this is now part of Galaxy FM.
Over the next 12-18 months, it is expected that Ocean FM will be re-branded to 'Heart'.
Source (Wikipedia): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_FM_(UK)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Radio
I don't want this to happen & I'm sure you don't either!
The 'Ocean' name has been on our airwaves since 12th October 1986, and it will be a great shame if we lose it!
Sirius Radio and XM Radio have recently merged and Channel 116 Kidstuff recently became something very different.
Prior to November 12th, Kidstuff was a wonderfully educational and highly entertaining channel for preschool aged children. Now, when you turn it on there is a lot of talk, comedians (that are certainly not geared for a preschooler), and rap songs and such that are not for preschoolers at all.
53. Bring Back The Russell Brand Show
Russell Brand has resigned from his BBC radio show "The Russell Brand Show" His reason for leaving is that he feels that the show is not making people "happy" anymore.
Or though there is one mistake on his and Johnathan Ross's part he still makes us laugh and makes us happy.
The whole thing has been blown greatly out of proportion by the media, as despite the figure being quoted in its thousands, only two complaints were received about the show, both for Ross's use of an expletive.
Since then, the media have stirred up uncalled for and unnecessary amounts of controversy, considering the dialogue used would be water off a ducks back to viewers of many comedy shows e.g. Little Britain.
What's more, listeners were warned about possibly offensive language and content.
Matt Morgan
The Sony Award winning Russell Brand show originated on BBC 6 Music before moving to take the 21:00-23:00 Saturday slot as Radio 2's showpiece.
It has been one of the most successful of recent times and is certainly one of the funniest and really does brighten up the days of many people, with regular Co-host Matt Morgan, poet laureate Mr Gee and regular guest, Oasis star, Noel Gallagher.
The show has attracted over 400,000 listeners live or even 2 million (depending on which source you believe) and many more via podcast, for which it has dominated the charts on iTunes.
For the show's regular items, Nanacdotes, Pin pin, 'Gay', the jingle race war, Mr Gee's poems and the two hosts, Russell Brand and Matt Morgan, as well as former hosts and friends, Mr Nibbs, Trevor Lock and Christophe the Fish !
Mr Gee
Russell's resignation statement: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7698527.stm
---------------------------------
Russell, people need you to make them laugh, you said yourself that was the reason you did it and people need you to brighten their days once more.
A revolution in your honour, Russell.
Your loyal fans.
PLEASE REFER THIS PETITION TO ANY OTHER FANS OF THE SHOW YOU KNOW SO WE CAN MAKE AS GOOD OF A GO OF THIS AS POSSIBLE.

54. Get JB playing on Radio Now Again!
Alright, so I recently found out that Radio Now! (A Radio Station) was told to stop playing Jonas Brothers songs. Heres the story:
A church group went to the station and told them to stop playing Jonas Brothers music because it was somehow "offensive" to them. The radio station told the group no, and now the station is in trouble, & has stopped playing Jonas music, all because of a church group.
HOW CAN JONAS MUSIC BE OFFENSIVE??!?! THEY DONT TALK ABOUT SEX OR DRUGS, THEY DONT CUSS, AND THEY DON'T EVEN MENTION GOD IN THEIR SONGS!
So we MUST get the Jonas Brothers back on the station. Do you really want them to stop playing Jonas music just because of a church group of what, like, five people? No! So sign this petition! We want at least 500 signatures before July 23rd. I know, big goal we want to reach, but please. Before you know it, this church group will try and get EVERY radio station to stop playing them!
Please & thank you!

57. Play Below's Music On Kansas City Radio
THOU SHALL NOT STEP NEAR ME THAT IS GOD FORBIDDEN.
58. Return 96.2 the Revolution to its former glory
On it's website 96.2 The Revolution states that it is:
"A radio station that covers all of Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Greater Manchester. That's a potential audience of almost half a million people."
It has marketed itself as a station that:
"Only plays good records - not the commercial dribble you may hear on other stations."
Listeners have enjoyed good quality indie, rock, punk and alternative music and the station has championed unsigned local bands that have since secured record contracts. Many of the DJ's that have presented shows on the station have an excellent broad knowledge of music spanning decades, upto and including new artists - local and international. Some of the DJ's are famous acclaimed local musicians.
Recent listener figures show a large drop to only 19000 listeners in December 2007. Details taken from RAJAR figures and can be viewed in full at http://www.mediauk.com/radio/rajar/226/96.2-the-revolution
There is no publically available information to explain the drop in listener figures.
Over recent months the stations response to this situation appears to have been to dramatically reduce the number of presenters/DJs and more recently to introduce commercial artists onto the playlists which is exactly what the station still markets itself as not playing.
As a listener to 96.2 The Revolution I became increasingly frustrated with these changes and considered switching to another station or simply playing my own music. I concluded that I should channel my frustration into creating a 'myspace' page to express my frustration and to provide a forum for other listeners that may feel the same way. (Please see website link above.)
The page was created on Friday 18th January and three days later it had 400 'friends'. Even more unexpected than the popularity of the page was the number of people that took time to add their own thoughts and frustrations in the form of 'comments.' To date after less than two weeks the page has had over 1600 hits and is approaching 600 'friends'.
All of the people that have commented on this page except one person have expressed their frustration with these recent changes and many have stated that they will no longer listen to the station if it doesn't return to it's old music policy. Within the comments on this page and the two forums around this topic (links are available on the page) a number of people have expressed the opinion that the station does not market itself properly and that it's could target more appropriate advertisers.
These listeners feel that the station should reverse the recent changes, restore the station's past music policy and rare branding, and market is's unique selling point appropriately. They also feel that the station needs to reconsider how it sells to advertisers.
Unfortunately a number of these listeners, myself included, report that when they have written to the station manager to express their concerns they have had no response. This is the reason for this petition - to notify the owners of the station about the feelings and concerns of the listeners.
59. Stop Country Radio Replacing Old Country with New Country
A lot of Fans Have Been Requesting New Country Music From Older Artist and in reply we get They only play NEw Country Not Just NEw Music But New artist as well.
A lot of us feel that new country would not be here if it wasn't for our legends and some are still working hard to give us New music and if country radio doesn't play them We Loose Our Legends.
I like NEw Country But i like Old Country as well.
So let's Lobby FOR A MIXTURE of both.
60. Do not axe Bam-Bam and Streetboy, and Kat Shoob from Capital 95.8
Since March 2007, Bam Bam, Street Boy and Kat Shoob have kept thousands of Londoner laughing each weeknight between 7pm and 10pm.
The show provides an exciting mix of music, jokes and quirky news stories that perfectly entertain the many listeners of Capital Radio 95.8.
With its genuinely comedic moments, the show has a varied slection of features, and a great variety of music.
Unfortunately, the big brass at Capital now wish to axe these truly unique, one-of-kind, popular show.
