121. Stop yearly domain name registration

Changing domain registration policy.

This is a petition to change the registration policy of domain names or intellectual property on the internet. This is a petition to see what people think about having to register there domain names each year for a constant changing fee. We feel that you should only pay a one time fee and this name should belong to you forever or until you transfer it or sell it.
Please support this effect to change this unfair policy.

122. Stop allowing "Jake Brakes" on highway 540

Interstate 540 was built through an area by West Fork Ar, that is populated with several homes. The level of sound has increased tremendously. The loudest vehicles that drive through the area are the large trucks using "Jake Brakes" as they cross a bridge passing beside our neighborhoods. In many areas the sound is so loud that a conversation would have to wait until the truck would pass. The noise pollution from the highway could be greatly reduced by banning "Jake Brake" use on all down hill slopes near populated areas. Many areas post signs restricting Jake Brake use. Excessive noise from I-540 could also be reduced by installing a sound deflecting fence to direct noise away from houses. Evergreen trees planted along side the road before and after bridges could also reduce the noise that echos through our homes.

Residents with houses and property have lost property value from the undesirable sound that surrounds their homes. Excessive highway noise also contributes to residents stress, loss of sleep, and blocks out natural communications of native animal species normally heard in Arkansas forests.

124. Abolish Code Compliance Department of the City of Fort Worth.

Since I have purchased a property in the city of Fort Worth I have encountered harassment from the Code Compliance, Zoning and the Planning Commission. These agencies zone and regulate private property as if we the residents don't have any rights. They don't respect us, they tell us half truths and bombard us with unreasonable regulations.

125. Our Husband/dad Deserves a New Trial

Our husband/dad was convicted of arson and was sent to prison two years ago. During the trial there was no concrete evidence shown and there was no motive shown. My husband was contracted to tear an old barn down in lieu of six months rent to a property he rented. Two weeks into the contract the barn burnt to the ground. My husband stood to gain nothing from the barn burning, in fact, he lost the contract and was forced to vacate the property. There was no insurance on the barn so that was not even a motive.

Family history: I was attending school and our dream has always been to open a respite care facility for special needs children. We were both working toward that goal. The burning of the barn literally caused our dreams to go up in smoke. My husband had no reason to burn down the barn and he would NEVER do such a horrible thing. We also both have strong convictions of right and wrong and doing such a deed is just wrong. We both love children and with this conviction we have no hope of ever achieving our dream. We were forced to have a public defender who did nothing but sit back and watch my husband and my children's dad get railroaded.

Please, help us get my husband back into court. We have since found a good Christian lawyer who would defend my husband like he deserved to be defended. We just want our husband/dad home. Thank You and God bless you.
Sincerely,
Susan Jordan

126. Ban Lawn and Garden Pesticides!

The following municipalities; Halifax (N.S.), Líle bizard (Que.) and chelsea (Que) have bylaws prohibiting the use of pesticides on private property for cosmetic reasons. Synthetic pesticides are harmful to human health and the environment: many of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, birth defects, and loss of wildlife. These products are unnecessary because sustainable, healthy and effective lawn care alternatives are available.

127. Clean up of C&S Body Shop

On June 12, 2001, Marcella Gawron, the owner of the property located as C&S Body Shop at 842 Adams Ct., Throop, PA 18512 was notified by the Borough of Throop that a complaint had been registered concerning the condition of the above listed property. An inspection at that location revealed a substantial number of junk (*Section 2C of Ordinance #9 of 1992 defines junk as any discarded material or article including scrap metal, scrapped, abandoned or junked motor vehicles, etc.), abandoned (*Section 2D of Ordinance #9 of 1992 defines abandoned as any item resting for 96 hours or more and which is inoperable, without current registration plates, certificate or inspection or in such a condition as to be unusable)and discarded (*Section 2E of Ordinance #9 of 1992 defines discarded as any item resting for 96 hours or more with no known or apparent owner) vehicles were found on the property.

The property owner was also found in violation of Section 3 of Ordinance #9 of 1992 for accumulating or storing junked, abandoned or discarded vehicles, debris, etc. At the present, the property has remained unchanged. Currently, there are junked cars sinking into the ground that are being used to store more junked parts. In addition, the roof of the garages dislodges during wind, used tires are accumulating and scrap metal is abundant. We are demanding that the Borough of Throop take action to improve our neighborhood. This is a residential area - not commercial nor the place for a junk yard.

This eyesore and hazard to the community needs to be cleaned up!!

128. Bullet Trespass Law

In April, 2001, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors failed to enact proposed legislation that would have made it illegal to shoot across the property of another without first obtaining their permission.

This enhancement would have better defined the current reckless endangerment statute, which by law enforcement's own admission is a subjective and qualitative charge that is poorly defined and difficult to enforce. Thinking people, gun owners and non-gun owners alike, agree that defining reckless endangerment to include "bullet trespass" is simply common sense firearm safety that should not be left to chance. When a bullet is fired through private property without permission, it is a violation of our inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
