UPDATE 2005

Give thanks to all those ones who signed this important petition. The law
was changed in August 2003 when Chief Minister Orlando Smith took office.
Later in this same year the Caribbean Rastafari Organisation held a week
long summit in Tortola.

Former Chief Minister O'Neal was the author of the 1980 ordinance and repeatedly refused to lift the ban despite opposition to it. The order was removed following a public survey which showed a majority of islanders opposed the ban. We the members of the Rastafari Turtle Dove Deliverance (RTDD) and the undersigned Petitoners vehemently object to the 1980 Immigration and Passport Order. (commonly known to as the order which prohibits class of persons).

We find that this Law is a violation of the fundamental Human Rights of people of African Descent, who are Being discriminated against based on the texture and style of their hair.

I am 14 years old and I am pursuing the career of Automotive Engineer.

I do not like the saftey of Ford vehicles especially the F-150 or the other problems with the Explorer and Focus.

I think Ford should stop and think about the saftey of their vehicles. They will loose a lot of business if they don't.

Nickelodeon's smash hit Double Dare (1986-1993) revolutionized Nickelodeon, tripling its ratings! Then, our most feared day came. Double Dare was cancelled. But Double Dare 2000 came into Nick's airwaves in January of 2000, but it was very short-lived. When I found out that Double Dare 2000 was cancelled, I spent time figuring out why it was cancelled so soon. Then I came up with an idea for a new Double Dare! Well, 2 actually.

For my first idea, you could bring back all the music from the original version, bring back Marc Summers as host, use the ultra mess from Super Sloppy Double Dare, and you could make the obstacle course 10 obstacles instead of just 8. Maybe you want to do this, maybe you don't, but you could also use the Triple Dare Challenge from Double Dare 2000.

My second idea is basically the same as my first, except you could make the physical challenges more like the ones on Dog Eat Dog (after all, its ratings are VERY high). Ncikelodeon, please take these ideas into consideration.

I believe that paintball should be made legal in the U.S.Paintball should be legalized all over the United States.

It doesn't make sense for it to be illegal in some places and legal in others. A person could buy a paintball marker in a place it is legal to buy one, then go to a place where it is illegal and do vandilism. If a paintball marker is illegal, why not a baseball bat? They can do the same things, vandalize and kill Do you no why paintball is considered dangerous? i'll tell you, its people who go around and shoot houses and cars and people. It is a very safe sport if the right precautions are takin, such as wering the right saftey gear especially made for the sport, and chronographing your marker before play. We as parents/relatives/friends/caregivers of autistic individuals and/or as Autistic individuals are signing this petition to express our intention of boycotting the movie "The United States of Leland" for its glorification of the murder of an autistic child out of "pity". (The movie is described as follows by the production company-: The United States of Leland is the story of an extraordinary young individual that begins with a tragedy, but ultimately inspires those surrounding him to make tremendously positive changes in their lives.

Premise: This is the story of a sensitive teenager, Leland, faced with issues of morality and hope under difficult circumstances, who is arrested and sent to juvenile hall, after he kills an autistic child out of sympathy (sort of like an emotional euthanasia). Once there, he meets a teacher, Mr. Pearl, who helps him figure out the reasons for why he committed the crime, as we also see the ramifications of the murder have on his community, his family, and that of the victim.) Support for this film has been guaranteed by numerous banks.

Addendum dated 5 October 2002:
'Recently it has come to my attention as author of this petition that there have been unfavorable reviews of the script which state that the movie shows an exploitive murder of an Autistic child, that the movie itself is shallow and self-serving and fails miserably in its attempt by Hoge to do a character study of human relationships and behavior.

The Autistic child, whose name is Ray, and his violent murder are used as pawns in Hoge's plot for this movie. Leland says he kills Ray out of sadness... sadness for Ray's life and the fact that he cannot relate to other children. Leland's character is using the fact that Ray is Autistic to justify the violent murder he commits. Leland, then through interactions with other characters in the movie, becomes an inspiration to others, helping them grow and mature as people.

Little consideration is given to Ray and the fact that despite his Autism, he had a family whom loved and accepted him and had every chance at a good life the way a typical person does. ..... Hoge judges everyone else's character in the movie and Leland ultimately DOES become a hero.... a hero because he helps other people grow and mature as people. Hoge admits that he wants you to sympathize and care for the main character Leland by the end of the movie in a letter which can be found on the Paramount Pictures website: http://www.paramountclassics.com/leland/ So amazingly, Hoge lets Leland, in principle, get away with the murder

Compassion isn't expected to be given to the disabled child and the fact that the disabled child was killed and in one disturbing line in the movie, Rays mother makes the horrid comment that there is "nothing there" when it comes to her autistic child. As anyone whom knows and loves and cares for a child or adult with autism, this is the farthest from the truth.

Started after hearing reports about new
direction for Freddy Vs. Jason.

The purpose of this petition is simple: Stop New Line Cinema from ruining the
Freddy Vs. Jason film. Read:

Fangoria talked to New Line today and the studio told them that they want a
new Jason for "Freddy VS. Jason." They don't want a hardcore killing machine,
the new Jason casting breakdown calls for an actor "who can emote pain
and anguish over the loss of a loved one… we're looking for someone with
poetic eyes." The idea is to make Jason a "sad, pathetic, Phantom of the
Opera-type character," says their New Line source. Even scarier, Both Hodder
and an anonymous New Line executive told Fango that the production has
"rethought" the character to
make Jason both more sympathetic and a closer physical match to opponent
Freddy (Robert Englund).

Does that mean Jason will get skinny and wimpy?

This petition is posted prior to the imminent sentencing of Charles Andrew (Andy) Williams, defendant in People v Williams (California).

It is presented after extensive support efforts of over 17 months by many individuals and groups in support of Andy Williams being tried as a juvenile.

He had just turned 15 prior to his arrest.

Andy Williams was taken into custody at Santana High School in Santee, California on March 5, 2001. He is being tried as an adult under California statute enacted under voter initiative Proposition 21.

This proposition and its resulting law remains controversial among individuals and groups, among them, Amnesty International

Where starving people share the little they have with their neighbours to keep them alive. Those who have enough food for two meals a day give one of those meals to someone who has nothing.

Where right now the crops lie unharvested in the fields and mass starvation threatens a once proud and free people.

Where Aid agencies must often withdraw and people live daily in fear.

Where each year the Governments of Sudan and Uganda, The UN and various other bodies discuss peace but sixteen years into the conflict there is no peace.

Wherethe plight of the people is ignored by the international media.

Northern Uganda is bordered by Southern Sudan, where oil is the major attraction for the international community. The people of Southern Sudan and Northern Uganda have become pawns in an International oil grab.

Where people from Sudan seek refuge among the refugees because of the war in their country.

At a time when billons of dollars are being spent on arms and the military, people are starving to death. While the developed world decides which country to wage war against next, these people are ignored. Through this petition we plea for aid and support for the Acholi people, a forgotten people.

The majority of orphaned baby animals the Ottawa Carleton Wildlife Centre (OCWC) receives for care come in alone or in pairs. For successful socialization and reintroduction to the wild, they are put in normal family-size groups of four to five animals. They spend many weeks together or, in the case of some species, many months, and are released together at carefully selected foster volunteer sites that have all the natural features necessary for their survival.

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources regulations now demand that each animal be separated from its group and released back to within one kilometer from where it came.

OCWC will not be party to what we know are inhumane and irresponsible release regulations. Separating animals that have bonded as a unit and taking a single terrified animal back to almost-always inappropriate sites where they are not wanted and where there is no interim care, means animals will have no chance of survival.

If the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre is to remain open to help wildlife, this regulation must be changed.

Please protect our wildlife and ensure the future of OCWC and other rehab centres in Ontario by reading and signing the Petition.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of death and injury to women between the ages 15-44. Married women are 9 times more likely to be killed by their spouses than by a stranger. In Canada, 60% of female homicide victims are killed by their spouses. On average most women are assualted 35 times before calling the police. 1 out of 8 women, are or have been abused by their partners.

Around 70 women in Canada die each year at the hands of their male partner.

Since the acquisition of Egroups by Yahoo, Yahoo has been shutting down Adult Groups at an alarming rate. They've almost all but stopped there advertising of Adult Groups. This petition is for all the people who would like to be able peruse the Adult Groups and not have more of their First Amendment rights taken away. For some people, this is their right to be able to step into a fantasy world which in societies eyes is wrong. Who makes these rules anyway? Kasi Lemmons is the talented breakout director of 1997's critical favorite
"Eve's Bayou" starring Samuel L. Jackson. She later directed him again in the film "The Caveman's Valentine". Kasi Lemmons may resonate more
familiarity as the Candyman's fearful victim in the first of the series'
film as Bernadette.

With her close ties to the series of Candyman and the debut film she
directed in the same vein of the Clive Barker film for which she is most
noteworthy she'd be an excellent choice to further tell the tale of the
great urban legend. Sign the petition to elect Kasi Lemmons as the director
of "Candyman: Forever".

I see this film telling the story from Daniel Robitaille's (Candyman) other
bloodline (i.e. his black family descendants of slaves). Envious of the
forbidden love he was denied, Candyman seeks a new victim within his family

Petition submitted to the Quebec National Assembly for the adoption of an anti-dolphinarium law.

For the attention of the Quebec National Assembly and, especially for the attention of the Prime Minister of Quebec and the Ministry of Tourism.

This said petition is for the adoption of an anti-dolphinarium law in the province of Quebec. Strongly convinced that the Government is in a position to accomplish tremendously for the protection of species, by creating this law;

WHEREAS zoological parks and other similar associations or establishments cannot offer adequate conditions to maintain dolphins alive;

WHEREAS captivity conditions lead to distressing behaviours and even to death on the part of dolphins;

WHEREAS the risks of injuries are very real for the dolphins as well as for the humans within the scope of swimming programs with the dolphins;

WHEREAS numerous deaths have been recorded as a result of dolphins being kept in such captivity;

For all these reasons and many more. We, the undersigned, request that the Quebec National Assembly take the necessary steps to adopt a law against dolphinarium projects of any type in the Province of Quebec.
