93. Stop the Rampion Off-shore Wind Farm
E.On’s “Rampion” massive off-shore wind farm, up to 690ft high and as wide as Mid Sussex, should not be approved:
1. Offshore wind farms are unreliable. E.On boasts of an installed electrical capacity of up to 700 megawatt (MW) from the 100 to 195 turbines. This is the potential output if the wind was blowing at optimum speed all the time.
Currently all the 3,500 turbines sited around the country feed on average just 1,000 MW into the grid – no more than the output of a single, medium-sized conventional power station. Because of this unreliability, conventional power stations will still be needed on permanent standby, thereby negating any alleged CO2 savings.
2. Off-shore wind farms are an extremely expensive way to produce electricity – nine times as much as gas-fired power. E.On would not dream of building this wind farm unless they were guaranteed a huge Government subsidy. This comes in the form of a subsidy scheme, paid for by dramatically increasing our household fuel bills, whereby owners of wind turbines earn an additional £49 for every ‘megawatt hour’ they produce, and twice that sum for offshore wind turbines.
What other industry gets a public subsidy equivalent to 100 or even 200 per cent of the value of what it produces?
3. Offshore wind farms do not ‘save the planet’ by cutting our emissions of CO2.
Even if you believe that curbing our use of fossil fuels could change the Earth’s climate, the CO2 reduction allegedly achieved by a wind farm over a year, would be cancelled out by a single jumbo jet flying daily between Britain and America, over the same period.

94. Stop the Adelaide Hills Rodeo
Rodeos are an inherently cruel event, or ‘sport’ as its supporters would have you believe. Around 4000 horses and bulls are used in the over 600 rodeos held around Australia each year, in addition to an unknown number of calves and steers which result in animals being brutalised, tormented, injured and sometimes killed.
In South Australia the horses, bulls and steers are provoked into displaying violent behaviours as they try to throw off or run away from their tormentors and as a reaction to the use of flank straps, electric cattle prods and spurs.
Flank straps are pulled tightly across the animal’s underbelly near their genital area which is tightened as the chute gate is opened. The animals then buck in a hopeless attempt to escape the pressure. The strap is pulled so tightly that horses frequently exhibit open sores on their flanks caused by the strap. While the flank strap itself causes pain, the violent bucking that it induces can cause severe injuries and even fatalities.
Horses do not stop bucking when they have thrown their rider, but only once the irritating strap is loosened. This contradicts statements by rodeo supporters that these animals buck naturally as it evident that they need to be provoked into displaying this behaviour and bucking events cannot be held without this strap.
In steer-wrestling, a ‘hazer’ keeps the steer running in a straight line while a second mounted cowboy chases the steer, then grabs him by the horns and forcibly twists the steer's neck and slams him to the ground. The steers have their necks twisted so severely, they are forced to the ground by extreme pain and fear. They fall heavily and are often twisted and flipped on their backs, sometimes somersaulting headfirst and falling in a tangled heap. This can cause muscle, tendon and spinal injuries and well as considerable pain and trauma. In steer roping, the rider lassoes the horns of a galloping steer, then circles him on horseback to pull the rope tight around his legs until he crashes to the ground.
Rodeos in South Australia are governed by the Animal Welfare Act 1985 and the Animal Welfare Regulations 2000. However, there are very few inspectors to attend and monitor the rodeos therefore participants breaking the law are rarely charged and the abuse continues.
At the end of the day, rodeos are vile displays of human ‘domination’ over frightened and hurting animals and have no place in a civilised society and it’s time they were banned altogether.
95. Petition in Support of the Ukrainian Language
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering an unconstitutional bill to make Russian an official language in Ukraine.
96. PETITION OPPOSING DEVELOPMENT NEAR SSSI SITE IN BERE REGIS VILLAGE
We believe that developing land adjacent to a SSSI site and near to protected Heathland will have a detrimental effect on the existing wildlife, habitat, flora & fauna.
We believe that building a road to access the new school development, to sustain school traffic, will greatly impact the ecology and environment.
Another site is available for development adjacent to the existing school, it is within the village boundaries and does not have the environmental pressures of the currently proposed site.
97. Granite test
Local 3’s history in the rock, sand and gravel industry goes back to its very founding in 1939. Working in quarries, batch plants, and asphalt plants as Dinkey engineers, steam shovel operators, powedermen and wagon drillers, members earned up to $1.40 an hour, a lot in those days, for working in the dangerous industry.
Much has changed since then. Today there are approximately 800 Local 3 members working in four states under a number of labor contracts in the rock, sand and gravel industry.
Every single day i can't help but see somebody being bullied online.
It hurts to see how heartless one person can be. I'm sure there's a lot of petitions just like mine but the more signatures i get, there are more people who are promising to use the internet in ways that nobody can get hurt.
History of MK Delta Lands Group & How it happened:
• In 2004, when the Burns Bog area owned by the McLaughlins was under foreclosure, the McLaughlin family asked Jack Matthews to rescue the Bog from foreclosure. He did. (J.M. Pers. Comment, 2004.)
• Jack Matthews then sold Burns Bog minus the 525 acres to Delta, the GVRD (Metro Vancouver), the Province of British Columbia and the Federal Government.
• The original piece of bogland owned by the McLaughlin family included the three pieces currently owned by MK Delta Lands Group Inc.
• In 2005 the Kerbel family (Ontario) and Jack Matthews (originally from Ontario, now Dallas, Texas) created MK Delta Lands Group Inc.
10770 – 72nd Avenue, Delta – 89 acres (26 hectares)
• It is surrounded on two sides by Conservation Area. This isolates the land from the community.
• The peat ranges from 10-17 metres thick in this area. (AGRA Earth & Environmental Ltd., 1999a up to 21.8 metres or 70ft. Pers. comment, MK’s hydrologist, April 29,2012).
• A good part of this area is identified as moderate to high habitat (50-75% of the best in the province) suitable for three rare and endangered mammal species (Pacific Water Shrew, Southern Red-Backed Vole, Trowbridge’s Shrew).
• Partly covered with historic pine, spruce, and yew forest. (Map 5.5 Ecosystem Review 2000).
• Water flows back and forth underneath Highway 99 between this property and the property on the west side owned by MK Delta Lands Inc.
Other Concerns:
• Impacts on people’s health regarding diesel particles coming from roads. (South Fraser Perimeter Road Tech. Report No. 16, Page 39 states that there will be increased respiratory and cancer related illnesses due to the construction of the road)
• Potential impact on the Conservation Area. When/ where is the tipping point where the Conservation Area can no longer withstand buildings and roads on unprotected bogland?
• This area is in a floodplain area. Water flows downhill from the Panorama ridge.
2004 Survey by the Burns Bog Conservation Society
• 93% of the people responding to the survey stated that the Society should “keep working on ways to protect that extra 426 acres" (currently identified as 525 acres).
Is destruction of this land inevitable?
• Before this land can be rezoned for development, the Corporation of Delta must change its North Delta Area Plan, and Metro Vancouver must change its Regional Growth Strategy Plan.
• The MK Delta Lands Inc. qualifies for a tax benefit under the Canadian Ecological Gifts Program if it donates its land to the Burns Bog Conservation Society or another organization with a charitable tax number.

101. Uphold Ghana's Constitution
The president of Ghana John Atta Mills announced the week of may 21st 2012 that he will overturn a supreme court decision in the Jake Obetsebi lamptey bungalow case.
Do you think in a democratically elected president should be able to overturn a supreme court decision?
Cast your let your voice be heard.
102. Fix Gears of War 2
I believe that before Gears of War 3 came out Epic games promised us that they would fix the problems with lag and other issues, but instead they carried on with there interests in Gears 3 leaving Gears 2 in a messed up state.
I Believe that they should put there efforts back in to the Gears of War 2 of the series. There was a petition before this one back in 2009 but it was forgotten about
103. Stop Paramount from delaying and converting G.I. Joe Retaliation
I thought the film industry’s infatuation with 3D was temporary. But it hardly seems like they’re slowing production on converting movies to 3-D, 3D as a whole affects even the best films in a bad way, it is an impediment to quality filmmaking. It compromises much of the art of film.
Brightness, contrast, image quality, depth of field are all sacrificed to accommodate a gimmick. Plus movie theaters often give 3-D better treatment, usually offering 3-D versions of films two screens, while the 2-D version only get one screen.
The latest casualty of this 3-D trend is G.I. Joe Retaliation, it was originally scheduled to be released on June 29th, but Paramount abruptly decided to delay it's release until March 2013 to convert it to 3-D, citing focus groups asking why the film wasn't in stereo. But it's clear the real reason for Paramounts sudden decision is due to the lackluster performance of Battleship at the box-office and wanting to stretch out consumers pockets more to maximize they're profits.
This decision is a bad idea for many reasons, first off, 3-D showings usually take in less revenue compared to 2-D ones, even for a hugely successful film like Deathly Hallows part 2, 3-D showings accounted for less then half of the film's profits(48% to be precise), films like The Avengers are the exception and not the rule.
Delaying Retaliation and giving it an unnecessary conversion will most likely cause it to lose more money then it will gain. Not only will fans be turned off by the 3-D conversion, releasing the film in March next year would be even worse then releasing it a week before Amazing Spider Man, by next year, the excitement for the film will have died down, and the poor performance of John Carter earlier this year proved that March is not a good time to release a film intended for the blockbuster season.
All of these things combined will pretty much guarantee Retaliation will flop, and even if it is a success in spite of all this, the money it makes more then likely won't be enough to offset the costs of conversion. Bottom line, the film has more to lose then to gain with the delay. Hasbro will also be affected, as the tie-ie merchandise for the film was scheduled months in advance, the sudden delay will likely end up costing Hasbro quite a bit of money, they won't take this snap decision lightly and neither should you.
104. Allow Simpson County Citizen to Live on Her Own Property
Linda Calderon is a citizen of Magee, MS. She has lived in Simpson County practically all her life. She was deeded the property on 1st Street NW, Magee, MS, in 2009.
On December 2, 2011, she invested in the purchase of a mobile home by making a down payment and has been awaiting the arrival of this new home. The seller of home has promised to have the home moved to this property this week. In the meantime, Mrs. Calderon has had the property cleared of trees and the lawn maintained.
To her utter dismay, she was informed by the Mayor and Mr. David Dunn on May 21, that she is not to move any sort of home onto her property.
105. 2012-13 NKSD Athletics and Activities Committee Recommendation
The Athletics and Activities Committee needs your support of all our athletics and activities. We have had reductions every year for the last five years totaling over $200,000. No other district in the Kitsap Peninsula is looking at further cutting athletics and activities for next year.
If we make additional cuts, we will lose students to surrounding districts at the rate of $6000 per student. Additionally, studies show again and again how lower participation in athletics and activities relates to lower attendance, lower grades and more discipline problems. We have already seen lower participation this year with the increased participation fees. The AAC is recommending no cuts or fee increases to activities and athletics in our district for next year.
We need your e-mailed testimonies to the school board detailing the importance of athletics and activities to you and your families.
Thank you for your support.
This quirky science fiction comedy is a characteristic feature by iconoclastic director Tim Burton, known to moviegoers for Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The storyline affectionately harkens back to the deadpan sincerity of such '50s and '60s science-fiction films as The Day the Earth Stood Still and War of the Worlds. Flying saucers have been reliably seen over the capitals of the world, and the whole world awaits with bated breath to see what will transpire.
Among those waiting is the President of the United States (Jack Nicholson), who is assured by his science advisor (Pierce Brosnan) that the coming aliens are utterly peaceful. This advice is hotly contested by the military (led by Rod Steiger), who advices the President to annihilate them. When the aliens land, they are seen to be green, garish, and very cheerful. But appearances prove deceiving when the "friendly" aliens abruptly disintegrate the entire U.S. Congress. Hollywood notables appear in vast quantities in roles (and sub-plots) of all sizes in this zany feature, says moviefone.com where it also recieved a 100% 5star viewer score.
This Amazingly amusing movie made over $9mil when it opened in theaters in 1996. This is a petition to re-make "Mars Attacks!" with todays special effects. However as fans of the movie it is requested that all the original actors (Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close,Annette Bening,Pierce Brosnan,Danny DeVito,Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael J. Fox, Lukas Haas, Natalie Portman, Jack Black, Christina Applegate) be used in the remake and that the storyline be preserved.
Tim Burton is an amazing producer but this movie has a lot more potential now with better effects and a larger audience we know Tim Burton can deliver a proper re-make.

109. Motion of No Confidence in the Current ConDem Government
This Petition is to call for the current Condem Government to hold a Confidence Vote also known as a 'Confidence Motion' in the House of Commons and should that motion return as 'no confidence' then a general election be called there after.
I am asking everyone to sign it and send a loud and clear message to the Government that they are not fit to Govern us any longer.
Since they have come to power many people in this nation including myself feel that the Government has done nothing productive to encourage growth in the Economy but instead has pushed through a system of cuts to Public spending some of which seem quite cruel and punitive especially to vulnerable groups such as the poor and the disabled.
We feel that our Government is one that is only interested in the rich and cares not for the poor and with this system of cuts is pushing us deeper and deeper into worse and worse living standards in many cases even starvation for instance it is estimated that half a million Britons will have received food parcels by the year 2016 this is not an acceptable situation for our country and nor is it one we should be in.
It is for these reasons and many others listed in the petition and perhaps many of your own that I am asking you to stand up and make a stand against the UK Government. Please sign the petition and make your voice heard. Do not sit and moan and twiddle your thumbs!! Take action sign and share it with all that you know!!!
Please note the petition is somewhat lengthy to read as I felt it was necessary to make so many points within it..
PLEASE BE SURE TO CONFIRM YOUR SIGNATURE BY EMAIL. THANK YOU!

110. Return Due Process to Mississippi
“Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal."
~The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
With the NDAA's indefinite detainment without due process clause, (meaning legally, the Federal Government can arrest anyone for anything at any time secretly) It is time to recognize that Mississippians could lose their right to a fair trial.
With new bills being introduced to take away our first amendment rights, we should be worried about the consequences of disagreeing with any legal policies the government wants to implement.
If there is a suspected terrorist or protester, they should have the right to a fair trial by a jury of their peers to determine if their actions were illegal, and to determine the extent of punishment under law.
111. Legalize Gay/Lesbian Marriage
In the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996, it is stated:
Section 3. Definition of marriage
In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word 'marriage' means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word 'spouse' refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.
Yet, the Obama administration announced in 2011 that it had determined that Section 3 was unconstitutional and, though it would continue to enforce the law, it would no longer defend it in court.
Why should gay marriage be bound to a law that our own presidential administration states is unconstitutional? We fight for our freedoms. Some men and women in the military, and on our homefronts in the law enforcement, fire department, and EMS departments, are bi-sexual, lesbian, or gay.
112. Raise public and governement awareness of Brain Cancer
There are more than 100 different types of brain tumours, depending on which cells within the brain are involved About 300 children are diagnosed with brain tumours every year, and as many as 5% of brain tumours occur as part of an inherited condition.
Unlike other forms of cancer this type is not as prominent in society and is forgotten about yet increasing numbers are being diagnosed & Unlike other organs, it's very difficult to remove parts of the brain without causing massive disruption to the control of body functions.
113. Legalize Skateboarding in Mountain View, CA. in Shoreline Park and on the Stevens Creek Trail
Current Mountain View Ordinance 7.92 Section 38.20(g) prohibits skateboard use on the multiple-use trails at Shoreline Park and on the adjoining Stevens Creek Trail:
Section 38.20(g)
The main concern of the city is that a falling skateboard rider may cause his/her board to fly away at high speed and that board could cause injury to nearby trail user.
We argue that this is not the case with the type of longer skateboards (longboards) that would be used on the flat trails typical of these parks. In longboard pushing and pumping, as opposed to park and trick skateboard riding, typically when a rider falls, it is because the longboard encounters debris or an obstruction in the trail and suddenly stops. This causes the rider to continue forward, losing contact with the board. And since the fall was initiated by the board stopping and the rider left the board due to the sudden stop, the board usually remains right where it stopped, or at most rolls slowly a few feet off to the side of the trail. After all, without an external application of force, an object at rest remains at rest according to Sir Isaac Newton.
With the miles and miles of flat, featureless trails in these city parks, the riding of skateboards suitable for skate parks is not likely due to their short wheel base and small, hard wheels that do not roll well on the rough asphalt paving. The longboards suitable for use on these type of trails feature longer wheel bases, larger, softer wheels and truck setups that optimize the boards for long distance travel.
Also we argue that the existing regulation prohibiting skateboarding is inconsistent with neighboring cities that have multiple-use trails that connect with those in Mountain View.
In both Sunnyvale and Palo Alto, skateboarding is permitted and encouraged on paved multiple-use trails in those cities. And there is minimal signage present at the Mountain View boundaries on those connecting trails to advise trail users of the change in regulation. We have contacted the Friends Of Stevens Creek Trail and they are in favor of longboard use on their segments of the mentioned trails.
Finally, longboard/skateboard riding is a environmentally friendly mode of transportation and is consistent with the multiple-use aspect of the paved trails in the city parks.
Be sure to check the web page for updates, we are still waiting for the city to research the issue.
114. Federal Commitment to a Sodium Reduction Strategy for Canada
Most Canadians consume far more salt than is healthy and most of this comes from processed food. Excess sodium intake is a major contributor to high blood pressure and high blood pressure is a leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease (stroke and heart attack) and further associated with increased risk of stomach cancer, osteoporosis, asthma and several other health conditions.
In 2010 federal, provincial and territorial ministers of health agreed to national goal of reducing the average daily sodium intake of Canadians to 2,300 mg by 2016. The average daily sodium intake of Canadians currently is 3,400 mg/day – well above safe and recommended levels. In November 2011, the Federal Government rejected a Federal/Provincial and Territorial plan to reduce dietary sodium, blurring their former commitment.
This petition asks that the Government of Canada commit to, and establish, a national sodium reduction strategy for Canada, which includes setting and monitoring sodium reduction targets and timelines.

We as rugby league supporters want you to show the Aus v NZ rugby league test match LIVE on Friday 20th April 2012 on any one of the free to air channels 9 GEM or Go.
116. City of Olympia: Conserve nature trails and forest next to LBA Park
We, the citizens of Olympia and Thurston County, take pride in respecting and protecting our environment. The upland forest in the Chambers Lake Basin can be best used to increase the size and improve the quality of the adjacent LBA Park.
The population in the Chambers Basin is growing beyond the capacity of the current parks that serve it. For years,we, the residents of SE Olympia and beyond, have been walking with friends and dogs the decades-old established trails in the woods behind LBA Park. It is a lovely setting with a forest canopy, winding trails, modest hills, solitude, and varied habitats. The forest is home to coyote, raccoon, deer, porcupine, various species of birds, including hawks, eagle, quail and many other species of animals and plants. The trails are also used for running, training, mountain biking, and occasionally horseback riding.
The largest portion of the trails are within the 80-acre Trillium development proposed for approval by the City of Olympia. The City has recently rejected the developer's proposal, but the developer, D.R. Horton (a national developer of large subdivisions) has applied to reconfigure zoning to allow a new development proposal. We now have a window of opportunity that with community support, the City, the County and the developer might be able to broker a deal to preserve this parcel as a park.
The forest within this parcel is indeed an asset to SE Olympia shaping its identity, providing habitat, shade, stormwater retention and more. Before the last remaining tracts of forest in our basin are cleared, let's save a portion of it. In doing so, we can prevent flooding, provide habitat and a wildlife corridor, and have a place nearby for all to enjoy nature.
Let's conserve the beautiful trails and forest next to LBA Park. It will be a source of inspiration for generations to come.
As all of you directioners know, One Direction's management missed Perth on their Australian Tour.
We want to make One Direction's management and the media aware of this so our chances of having a concert here are very real. Please sign and tell all of your friends! Tell your friends to pass it on too!! Let's do this together!
118. Stop Cyberbullying, Slander, and Libel on Topix.com
I myself, as have many good standing people in my community, have been the target of smear campaigns that made a noticable change in the results of a current job search for myself, and the standing other members have within the community.
I am sure the results could be replicated in other regions of the US. This site provides anonymity which allows a person to believe they are not accountable for their actions.
This is not an idea we want promoted in today's society; a society in turmoil as it is.
119. Complete ban on trophy hunting in South Africa & full census carried out
Trophy hunting is out of control in South Africa. 99% of the South African people want it banned now. Trophy hunting is being explotated by Asian gangs that see a lucrative market in the Rhino horn.
The main concern is the Rhinoceros (pronounced /raɪˈnɒsərəs/), often abbreviated as rhino. Organised gangs mainly from Asia are hunting down the Rhinoceros for a horn that has been proven not to be of any medicinal use.
Only 3 out of the remaining 5 Rhinos are now left in the wild mainly in Africa.
A full census must be carried out on the Rhino to determine it's population so conservation teams can plan its future too.
Should the census not be carried out then one can not plan out an emergency conservation plan should we later find that the population is lower than has been over estimated by government.
120. Support The Premier's Literary Awards QLD
The newly-elected Premier Campbell Newman and the Queensland State Cabinet have axed the State's Premier's Literary Awards.
Newman stated that the decision to axe the popular incentive is to control Government spending.
This is a particularly sad day for the arts and writers of every ilk everywhere ...
It is the first backward step for Queensland which is a throwback to the Jo Bjelke Petersen days...
Please sign this petition, in support of advancing incentives to advance the arts and writing.
Thank you
