1. Keep Perth music events alive
Stop Perth local government shutting down music events and festivals.
2. Vans Warped Tour Perth 2013!
This year it was announced that Vans Warped Tour would be returning to Australia and will not be coming to Perth. As we get Soundwave and completely sell out tickets for Perth Soundwave I see no reason for us to miss out on another popular festival with similar music.
"Soundwave boss AJ Maddah will team up with Warped founder Kevin Lyman to bring the festival back to Australia and has confirmed that the tour will travel to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and a couple of regional centers on the east coast. Perth will not be on the schedule."( - http://www.fasterlouder.com.au ) This is ridiculous. As the manager of Soundwave he should see Perth as a potential market and we need to show him we want the festival as much as the festival wants us.
The festival came to Australia for the first time in 1998 and never came to Perth either. Its time for a change! Grab your keyboards and lets show the Perth music scene isn't as weak as they perceive.
Legendary band Tool have announced their first AUS/NZ headlining tour since 2002. But they have skipped the City of Perth to the dismay of many Tool fans living there.
Perth would easily be able to accomodate a Tool gig in the newly opened Perth Arena, and more than likely be able to sell all the tickets.
4. Bring TOOL to Perth on their Australian tour 2013!
Perth is sick of missing out on the talent that comes to australia.
5. No More Bed Time For Soundwave
Every year in February and March, the Soundwave Festival tours Australia, bringing much-anticipated international and national bands to our shores for one day of hardcore excitement. However, due to scheduling conflicts, many of the festival's punters are unable to see the bands they want. In fact, hundreds have voiced their displeasure in the timetable on various platforms.
To solve this situation, we, the 300,000+ strong fanbase request that, to accommodate for these horrific clashes and the disappointed and saddened fans, the curfew be reconsidered for the festival in it's 5 states. As ticket holders, we feel that we should be able to see the bands we want without having to make a heart-breaking choice. The festival is, for many, the only way to see these bands, so you could (hopefully) understand the frustration and sadness that arises from these bands clashing.
We ask that you please consider lifting the curfew to the fair suggestion of midnight. If the show were to run a mere 2 hours longer, many of these clashes would not only be resolved, but bands would be able to play longer sets for their high-paying, loyal fans.
Note from Sarah-Jane: I, myself am attending Soundwave with my special needs sibling and a friend who legally blind. I will not feel safe with punters running between stages between acts for my sibling and friend. I feel the curfew raises safety issues. A longer timeset would ensure more bands could play in the one allocated spot. Additionally I am worried about the crowds forcing their way to the front of stages after other acts at different stage locations causing fights and drama.
Note: This petition is directed at the council and venues of the Soundwave events (excluding sideshows). We fully support and appreciate Soundwave staff and what they do for their fans.
6. Petition to Make Steel Panther's Perth 2012 Concert All Ages
On May 10th 2012 it was announced that Steel Panther would tour Australia in their first headlining show ever, but the Perth Concert is only an 18+ event which is very heartbreaking to many of their under 18 "Fanthers" who wont be able to attend, this petition is to help make it an All Ages Event so we can all enjoy some great music.
Death to All But Metal!!
7. Get Nymph Honey played on Coast Live 97.3fm
Nymph Honey have just released our debut single and music video for the song 'Because I dont love you'. The video has reached over 100,000 views and the next step is to get it on rotation at our local station Coast Live 97.3fm.
You can view the video here

As all of you directioners know, One Direction's management missed Perth on their Australian Tour.
We want to make One Direction's management and the media aware of this so our chances of having a concert here are very real. Please sign and tell all of your friends! Tell your friends to pass it on too!! Let's do this together!
9. Bring One Direction to Perth
A group of six girls had planned a rally to get noticed by boy band, One Direction. It was very successful, we got an interview with NOVA 937 and they said they would forward our video onto Modest Management but we do not know if it ever got through.
We later got told that One Direction were having an Australian and New Zealand tour so we all got excited but when the dates and places were released our hearts sank because Perth was not on the list of places to visit. We had tried everything in our will to get them here but we came to the realisation that we won't be able to get them here.
We heard that One Direction were doing a world tour and now all we want to do is get them to Perth, since Australia is on the world tour list. We have made countless video's about our work and put them onto youtube and created groups and like pages on Facebook.
That's why we have started this petition!

Almost a year ago a herd of horses were found in a paddock in Mandurah, these horses and ponies are being neglected, malnourished and just left for dead.
There is constantly new horses arriving and old horses vanishing. People have personally witnessed the condition of these poor animals and some have been left to die in the paddock.
After several months of trying to get something done through animal welfare organisations and getting nowhere this has been our next option and we can take our supporter numbers to the media.
Unfortunately the owner is refusing to sign over any of these animals so there is nothing Second Chance Horse Rescue can do as they do not have the legal power to seize them.
11. Improve Perth's public transport system at night
Drink driving is a major public health concern as it contributes significantly to morbidity and mortality rates especially in young people. Injuries and fatalities caused by drink driving account for approximately 30% of all road accident fatalities and contributes a financial burden to the community of over 200 million dollars annually.
With few public transport options on Friday and Saturday night, we feel that the target population of 18 to 25 year olds often feel they have no other choice but to drive in situations where public transport is not available.
We propose that an increase in the number and frequency of trains and popular bus routes should be in place at night, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays between 12am and 4am.
These proposed changes are essential to reducing the prevalence of drink driving and the incidence of the subsequent accidents, injuries and fatalities and their enduring impact on the community.
12. Bring Sargent House artists and The Mars Volta to Adelaide/Perth
Adelaide and Perth is too often overlooked when artists tour Australia when we could easily fill the venues we have in our city. The last time The Mars Volta toured here we packed out Thebby Theatre and that wa sin 2006, it is our strong opinion that everything should be done to have them play here once again!
In addition, Sargent House artists have also toured here, but solo shows in Adelaide/Perth are always amiss - this must be changed. This petition is pushing to have The Mars Volta play solo in Adelaide/Perth once again, and to highlight the interest in bringing Sargent House bands to Adelaide.
13. Australian tour Up In Smoke 2
There has already been an Up In Smoke tour with Ice Cube, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog and Eminem but it was in America.
If they did an Australian tour it would go really well and I'm sure everyone else would want to see them.
14. Get Adam Lambert To Perth Western Australia
adam lambert is going on a tour to australia and he is going to sydney melbourne and brisbane but he isn't coming to perth and i and other people would like to see him while he's here but are unable to go inter-state so maybe if we get enough signatures he might decide that it would be worth it to come to perth. I know it's a long shot but it's worth a try. Thankyou for your support
15. New Elite Night Club For Perth
We are seeking to prove to the authorities and powers that be that Perth is in desperate need of a brand new purpose built elite nightclub venue.
16. Bring Airbourne's Australian Tour To Perth
Airbourne's current series of shows around the globe have been a great success. Later this year they bring their show to their homeland of Australia for more dates.
Unfortunately as they embark on their Australian tour, they are leaving many fans from Western Australia disappointed as these dates do not include Perth.
This petition's aim is to gain enough support for Airbourne's management to consider bringing their show to Perth, Western Australia.
17. Petition to grant a visa to ODA AUNAN
Oda Aunan is a valuable member of the Perth arts community. She is a proactive theatre maker who has contributed unique ideas, narrative, characters and craft to several successful original theatre productions produced by local theatre companies, both professional and independent.
She brings distinct skill and perspective, which enhance and broaden the work that she contributes to.
Oda Aunan went to university in Perth, she has lived here for seven years, she buys Australian products, she engages on a daily basis with Australian culture, often giving her creative energies to projects for little or no money. Oda Aunan contributes and belongs to the Perth arts community as much as any other Australian artist while at the same time bringing her cultural influence into the work. Oda currently has employment for three months with a professional theatre company, apart from this she also has several job opportunities coming up that she has created for herself.
There are amazing acting and theatre training courses and facilities here is Perth, WA. One of the current aims of the industry is to get to a point where all of the fantastic talent and skill of the graduates want to stay and work in Perth rather than moving to the eastern states or indeed overseas. Here we have a WA trained theatre practitioner who WANTS to stay and build the Perth theatre scene, yet we are making it extraordinarily difficult for her to live and work in Australia.
18. You Me At Six to play in Perth
At Soundwave 2010, You Me At Six's frontman Josh Franceschi told the Perth crowd they would be back here in September.
Tour dates for Australia in September were announced with no Perth dates. Sign here to get You Me At Six to Perth!
19. Bring FTA TV to Foxtel satellite in Perth and Adelaide
For too long now the people of Perth and Adelaide have been let down by the commercial networks. Seven, Nine and Ten all retransmit their networks on Foxtel Satellite in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, why should the people of Perth and Adelaide be excluded ?
90% of Foxtel Customers in Perth are on Foxtel Digital Satellite yet the networks refuse to pay for retransmission costs, what the networks forget is that if they were included on Foxtel they would gain a lot of extra viewers myself included.
20. Fix Scarborough's Laneways
The laneways or Public Access Ways in Scarborough and the surrounding areas have become the only thoroughfare available to citizens who have built a new house on a sub-divided parcel of land.
These Public Access Ways grant home owners access to their residences but are a far cry from safe and roadworthy. Rates are not subsidised for these properties though these rights of way must be maintained by the rate payers. City Of Stirling refuses to clean any rubbish that is dumped and rate payers are forced to remove it at their on cost.
The lack of street lighting and a sealed surface encourages crime such as theft, vandalism and the dumping of rubbish. Unlicensed drivers favour the Laneways due to their lack of Policing and loose, dirt surfaces.
21. Preservation of Bushland at Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University management have no plans to maintain the majority of bushland areas on the university grounds. It is likely that these areas will be flattened for future development.
Why is this important?
- ECU campuses are known for their iconic Australian bushland surroundings.
- There are currently no intentions to preserve extensive areas of existing bushland at ECU Joondalup campus.
- Urbanisation is a major contributing factor toward climate change, clearing native bushland areas will promote an environmentally irresponsible image for ECU in this respect.
- The bushland areas support a range of native wildlife.
- The surrounding bushland at ECU provide a positive and relaxing learning environment for students.
- These areas are valued by the community outside of ECU.
Ensure the continued existence of bushland areas at all Edith Cowan University campuses by signing the online petition for protected Edith Cowan University bushland areas.
22. Extended Trading Hours in the Metropolitan area of Perth, WA
Western Australia is currently subject to restrictive trading hours legislation. These restrictions often illogically discriminate between retailers, allowing some stores to trade when others are strictly prohibited
The geneal public of Perth supports the removal of such restrictions to allow all shops to have the option of trading further than the current 6pm closing time.
It is reported that extending the hours which retailers can trade will create more jobs and attract competition to the existing market place.
A & J Stephens Ltd has applied for planning permission for an as yet un-named superstore in Scone. The store floor area will be 3500sqm. with almost 300 parking spaces.
Details of the application can be found on

24. Support a WA franchise in the NRL
With the NRL Executive Committee looking to make an official decision on expansion plans as early as next year (2010), there needs to be a strong and significant campaign continuing to promote Western Australia as a viable and necessary option.
The NRL claims to be a national competition, yet has a high saturation of its teams residing in New South Wales and Queensland (... and one team in isolation within Victoria, ACT, and NZ). This competition, at present, is not a national competition, but rather an Eastern States corporation.
For a long time, Western Australia has been a strong support for many sporting competitions. The Western Force have the largest membership base within the Super 14 (rugby union) competition. The Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles have two of the largest membership bases in the AFL. All three clubs are amongst the richest (financially) in their respective competitions. This is a significant point the NRL needs to recognise.
Additionally, Western Australia has the support base for rugby league, it has the infrastructure (grounds), it has a solid community development focus (amongst its local competition), and has historically held a franchise in the past; and is more than capable of operating one again.
Presently, the National Rugby League has suggested an expansion into the "central coast" region. Another eastern states franchise, in an already saturated market. This will only further cannibalise fans and supporters from existing clubs over in the Eastern States, and is a nonsensical approach to solving the competitions market coverage and financial short-falls.
It's time the rest of the country becomes involved in the game. It's time other states and territories are considered. It's time for the NRL to become a truly national competition as it's namesake suggests. It's time for the NRL to compete with it's main competition (the AFL) on the national stage.
25. Campaign To Get A Socceroos Match In Perth
CAMPAIGN TO GET A SOCCEROOS GAME IN PERTH
Perth has been a neglected city in terms of international football, and we think it is time that WA got another opportunity to show ourselves. The last time Perth hosted a Socceroos match was a pretty nondescript affair against Indonesia in 2005. Since then, 14 matches have been played in Australia, in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and even Canberra, but crucially - none in Perth.
A FEW REASONS WHY PERTH WOULD BE A GREAT VENUE
- We are proven supporters in a soccer state, forget Perth Glory's recent performances.
- We are capable of drawing a big crowd to a match of significance.
- Perth's location makes it easier for opposing nations to travel to Australia, particularly from Africa, West Asia and Europe.
It would be unrealistic to get Brazil out here and have the match in Perth, but we also think we deserve more than a Socceroos D-Grade team against Bhutan. There are a number of realistic options available for a game in Perth:
- Phase 1 World Cup Qualifying Match
- Asian Cup Qualifier
- High Profile Friendly
Get behind Perth's attempts to host a Socceroos match! As a soccer mad state, we deserve the opportunity to see our nation's finest, but we need your support to make it happen!
Once enough support has been gained, this petition will be sent to Ben Buckley, CEO of Football Federation Australia.
This petition brought to you by One Week At A Time - theoneweekatatime.blogspot.com
26. Change Trivium's Perth Show To All Ages
Trivium have been to Perth 3 times in the past, all shows were announced as 18+, except for one, The black crusade, which was changed to All ages due to overwhelming demand.
It is time for All ages gigs to start becoming more popular in Perth, many many fans are missing out because of the promoter always choosing 18+ gigs.
Trivium could certainly fill The Robinson Pavillion, where they played previously on the Black Crusade Tour.
If you want to attend this gig, be you 18 and over or younger, please sign this petition as it will allow a much better show for all.
27. Simple Plan All Ages Gig in Perth
It is come to my attention the the Simple Plan concert on the 14th of October is an 18+ event at Metro City. This does not account for the many younger fans of the band who will not be able to see them perform. They would have to go to other states to see them play at all age gigs.
This is not fair and we here in Perth (after three years since the band last performed) should be allowed to have an all ages gig.
When they performed at Challenge Stadium in 2005 it was an all age gig.
Bring it on again for 2008.
28. Bring Tenacious D To Perth/Adelaide
Would Be Great If Tenacious D Would Do A Concert In Perth & Adelaide Because It Would Be Classic!
29. Immediately axe Troy Buswell as WA Liberal Party Leader!
Troy Buswell admitted to "sniffing the chair" of a female at a meeting. He was described as making sexual noises, and writhing around in mock pleasure after completing this humilating act in front of this female colleague and others.
He has previously snapped a bra of a female in a work environment.
His mysoginistic, disgusting behaviour towards women SHOULD NOT be tolerated. This is the man who MAY be elected to lead our state and be in charge of policy affecting women. He shows a lack of respect, complete immaturity, and deaming, sexualising behaviour towards women. How would he handle domestic violence policy? How would he handle sexual harrassment policy when he has admitted to being a perpertrator!
THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE AXED IMMEDIATELY.
30. Soilwork - Petition for an All Ages Show
Soilwork All Ages Show...
The Swedish metal band Soilwork are coming to Perth in May 2008 and will be playing an 18+ show in Fremantle. The aim of this petition is to get enough signatures in order to get this 18+ show moved to an All Ages.
Soilwork are a heavy metal band thats has become very well known worldwide. As with any other bands, Soilwork have fans of all different ages and it seems unfair that the under 18 fans should miss the opportunity to see this band live.
