1. Italics and Bold for Facebook
Text has a way of inhibiting communication. While efficient and utilitarian, text just lacks emphasis. I would have italicized emphasis, um, for emphasis, but I can't do that. I also can't do that on Facebook.
2. Prevent the Smart Bus from Charging Personal Care Assistance
As of August1, 2011, Smart is going to be charging Personal Care Assistance to ride the smart bus!
This would mean that someone that requires an assistant would still be able to pay a dollar each way because of their special fair, but their assistant would be paying 4 Dollars each way.
Many people with disabilities have to be taught how to ride the smart bus, and they are taught by a mobility teacher throughout the years of Kindergarten through twelfth grade. There are a lot of mobility teachers, and they each have many students that they have to teach. The company that the mobility teachers work for, for example, the MISD, has to pay a dollar each way for each student that is taken on a bus trip, and now they will have to pay 4 dollars each way for the mobility teacher.
This could eventually become impossible with all of the budget cuts! There will be people not getting taught how to ride the smart bus, and when they are older, and they have to go somewhere like a job, and no one is available to take them, they won’t know what to do!
3. Stop Websites from Posting Your Private Information without a True Cause
Blockshoppers.com is a website that poses themselves as a part of the media giving them an opportunity to post your name and home address to anyone visiting their website.
All one has to do is put your name in the search engine and pops up your personal residence. Although they are supposing to say they are providing information about real estate property for selling purposes, your property does not even have to be up for sale to be listed on their website.
Blockshoppers.com uses the fact that these are public records are accessible to anyone. The fact is that when someone is in search about a piece of real estate, they do not look it up by the person's name, but by the address.
A serious real estate agent will be willing to go to the courts and find the information they need, but not some crazed person who may want to harm you.
4. Restore the credit score of qualified citizens and businesses to pre 2007 levels
The United States is currently in the worst recession since the Great Depression. With millions of American Citizens out of work, pay decreases, under pay, many hardships have befouled the American people. These hardships have caused credit to be controlled with tighter regulation.
With no fault of their own, citizens with good credit now have been forced into bankruptcy, foreclosures, late pays and repossessions of autos, aircraft, water craft, and personal items. So far in 2010 1,572,597 million bankruptcies have been filed, 1.2 million foreclosed properties, that is 1 in every 78 homes, 1.9 million cars in 2009 and 2010 is up by 8%. Even the wealthy are feeling the down turn, with high end aircraft everything from a Piper Cub airplane to 747 jumbo jets are being recovered by creditors.
Our mission is to restore the health of credit score to individual citizens and business. To promote the responsible use of credit, to facilitate economic growth within the United States of America. To use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

Shutterstock have introduced a new taxation scheme. This states that if you are in a country which has a double taxation agreement with the US, you will need to fill in a form, involving private information, and send notarised copies (expensive) of your passports to the US. If this form is not filled in, then 30% of ALL your earnings will be deducted for US tax. If you live in a country without a tax agreement with shutterstock, then you will automatically be leaving 30% of your earnings with the IRS.
Shutterstock is attempting to censor debate on their forums by banning contributors who disagree with their point of view. For an open uncensored debate on the issue of IRS taxation on our earnings, feel free to use this forum. Details such as when the petition will be handed in and negociations with shutterstock will be discussed there too.
For this petition to have the maximum impact with the shutterstock management, we need to get a maximum number of signatures. Because shutterstock is deleting posts from the forum refering to this petition, we need to get the word out as many contributors are unaware of this petition and the potential benefits that it will bring if successful. 4) That the practice of handing out Personal Support Worker certificates to keep Canada's unemployment rate down, be ceased.
5) That a much needed support group, to help Health Care Aids and Personal Support Workers deal with the many issues that face them every day, be established.
6) That a stronger network be built with employers, registered staff and the public, so we can enhance the lives of our seniors, eliminate seniors abuse and improve working conditions for front line workers.

10. End Personal Property Tax in the State of Missouri
Personal property tax is an unfair tax on the ownership of assets in the state of Missouri.
Missouri is one of only a few states that continue to tax its residents by what they own.
It is time to end this tax, allowing the people to keep a very small portion, of what they are already giving up in taxation.

"Ohio Emancipation of Minor Law
§2111.181: Settlement of claim of emancipated minor.
When personal injury, damage to tangible or intangible property, or damage or loss on account of personal injury or damage to tangible or intangible property is caused to a minor, who claims to be emancipated, by wrongful act, neglect, or default which would entitle the minor to maintain an action and recover damages for the injury, damage, or loss, and when any minor who claims to be emancipated is entitled to maintain an action for damages or any other relief based on any claim, or is subject to any claim to recover damages or any other relief based on any claim, the minor, who claims to be emancipated, may file an application in the probate court in the county where he then resides, praying for a finding by the court that the minor is in fact emancipated, and authorizing, approving, and consenting to the settlement of the claim by the minor without the appointment of a guardian.
Upon hearing on the application, after five days' written notice of the time and place of the hearing has been given to each of the living parents of the minor, whose name and address is known, provided the parent is free from disability other than minority, or, if there is no living parent, after such notice to the next of kin of the minor known to reside in the county, the court may find the minor to be emancipated and may authorize, approve, and consent to the settlement of the claim by the minor without the appointment of a guardian and may authorize the minor to receive and receipt for the settlement and, upon the minor executing and delivering a full and complete release for the injuries, damages, losses, or claims, may authorize the delivery and payment of such moneys to the minor, to a trustee or guardian of the estate of the minor appointed by the court for the benefit of the minor, or to a depository authorized to receive fiduciary funds to hold the moneys payable to the ward when he attains majority, or for the benefit of the minor, as the court may direct.
Upon the finding of the probate court that the minor was, at the time of the injury damage, loss, or claim, an emancipated minor, and provided the notice required by this section has been given to each living parent, whose name and address is known, then the release executed by the emancipated minor shall be a full and complete discharge and release of any claim which either or both of the parents might have by reason of the personal injury, damage to tangible or intangible property, damage or loss on account of personal injury, or damage to tangible or intangible property, or any other claim of the minor. 14. Support Personal Retirement Account
The Bush plan offers younger workers an opportunity for the same retirement security that their parents and grandparents have enjoyed. It is far superior to the alternative, which is some combination of massive tax increases and sharp benefit cuts.
It is a sign of the President’s seriousness and the responsibility of his proposal that he discussed directly the need to bring future retirement benefits into line with what the system can afford to pay.
Any PRA plan that ignores this necessary step will fall short of the President’s goal of permanently fixing Social Security.
15. Moderation of Matt the Moderator
For the past month Matt has done a great job in Brischat contributing to clean up the community and introduce a healthy chat environment. However there have been several kickings in which decent and actively positive members of the Brischat community, have confronted Matt in a civil and respectful manner about why people have been kicked, and inturn kicked themselves without warning or reason.
There have also been times people have been booted just because of Matt’s pure annoyance. Matt has also used sarcasm on many an occasion which in turn alienates the positive members of the Brischat community, and turns them away from coming back. The point of this cleanup is to introduce a positive chat environment and clear up the mess so people can enjoy themselves.
This is a community chatroom, and matt does have a certain level of responsibility as a moderator to respect the wishes and good of the general community. Treat unto those as how you wish to be treated. Sign this petition if you have been booted for the above reasons, including Alias, Reason, or what you witnessed.
Please keep screenshots handy if such an incident occurs for evidence. Personal attacks and justified kicking comments will be deleted from this petition.
16. ASFCME - stop the current addendum vote
On Friday September 29, 2006, a union vote took place concerning modifications in the Driver and Monitor Contract. Many union members feel that they were not properly notified or given accurate information concerning the vote.
Specifically, members were not notified in a timely manner to make arrangements or allocations of their time to participate in the vote. Some members were notified the very day of the vote and some were not notified at all. The preferred current ASCME communication style is to put paper flyers in the transportation building lounge. This style operates under the assumption that all drivers and monitors visit the lounge, which is not true.
Additionally, the amendments to the contract were not given to each union member in a timely manner to develop an opinion of good or evil. Only two pieces of paper that were confusing to some lay next to the vote box for drivers and monitors to make a very quick decision to vote yes or no. Furthermore, union members were not provided their own personal copy
17. Clemency For Stray Dogs and Cats
July 31, 2006
It is hereby requested for the immediate consideration of the future of stray dogs and cats.
With stray dogs and cats' complete concern and welfare considered it is hereby requested for the state of Missouri to mandate for ALL person(s) to be required to be responsible for their pet(s). This to be accomplished by the following:

NOTE: This tax will be placed in a special fund to be used by city pounds/county shelters/humane societies to spay/neuter their strays.
END RESULT - Future strays will not be born to end up alongside country roads to die or to breed with other strays. City Pounds, shelters/humane societies will not be overrun with these unwanted strays.
18. Stop Credit Checks for Employment
July 22, 2006
More and more when you apply for a job you have both a criminal and credit background check. Employers have the right to deny you of a job because of your personal credit.
I think this should change. I think the a criminal background should be allowed but nothing based on your own personal credit.
There are a number of factors some of which are out of ones control that can damnage a persons credit.
In doing research I found that employers can base you get a job that you have the experiance and skills in on your credit. On a certain website I found "In some cases, you may want to investigate a potential employee's credit history. If the position you are trying to fill involves handling cash or otherwise managing you buisness assets, a credit check is essential. Inablility to managae personal credit and finances doesn't mean that an individial will have similar difficulties in a business setting. However, it is objective evidence of how the prospective employee has managed his or her assets."
There are hundreds of reasons why peoples credit becomes messed up such as a becoming ill, a child or relative becoming ill, divorce, lay off, thats just to name a few.
I want to make this stop America and I need your help. This is why I'm having this petition because people should be able to get any job not based on there credit but based on there skill and ability to preform the job.

November 16, 2005

PAYING AOL members respectfully wish AOL to IMEDIATELY REMOVE the banner ads from Paid member Journals.
21. WITHDRAW WITHDRAWMIERS.ORG
Hi everyone, its Harriet, you know from the White House!! Thanks for visiting my petition. I hope you feel like its YOUR petition too!
Basically, we the undersigned want whoever does withdrawmiers.org to withdraw withdrawmiers.org. Here are SOME of the reasons...
It is NOT NICE, which means you shouldn't say anything at all.
It's a Waste of Space on the Internet--crowded enough already, esp w/ everyone having a Livejournal!
Harriet Miers is the only nominee we've got, so "love the one you're with." The Supreme Court can't exist if there aren't Justices on it. This is really two reasons.
Hi, this is a personal message from Harriet, not the whole Undersigned. It would mean a lot to me personally if you took it down, like as a personal favor. I am not the type to promise to rule different for different people, but if you do the right thing please know I won't forget it.
Okay its all of us again. Honestly we can't believe you even put it up!!! But its past history now, the important thing is the future, please withdraw it.
So those are the reasons... I hope "you" will join "we"!! And tell you're friends! Because remember... there's no way a petition can be OVERsigned!!!

23. End the war in northern Uganda
Sign this petition to pressure President Bush and the U.S. Congress to take action and help end the war in northern Uganda that has already led to the abduction of more than 25,000 children.
Tell President Bush, Senators and Congress Members You Want the United States to Take the Lead in Ending the Worst Abuse of Children in the World.
Tell Them to Step Up and Lead Efforts to End the War in Northern Uganda.
For 19 years, a war has flared in northern Uganda between a rebel group called the Lord's Resistance Army, led by Joseph Kony, and President Yoweri Museveni's government. The war's main targets are not the combatants. The targets are children.
Over the course of the fighting, an estimated 25,000 boys and girls have been abducted and forced into being soldiers and sex slaves. Thousands of children and their families have been killed; hundreds of thousands live in squalid, unsafe camps.
President Bush has directed some dollars and programs to assist the people of northern Uganda. But he could be a decisive leader in promoting an end to this conflict in 2005 if he made it an American moral priority.
This could be ended if the United States - one of Uganda's top foreign aid donors - gave sustained political and diplomatic attention to it. The White House and Capitol Hill lawmakers should take these actions:
-- President Bush should allocate finances and appoint a high-profile envoy to support Ugandan attempts to hold peace talks. Bush should invest a small amount of his time by personally talking to Museveni and letting him know the United States has made a moral priority of protecting children in northern Uganda by ending the war there. He also should call Sudanese leaders in the capital of Khartoum and in the south to get a pledge from them to fully end support to Joseph Kony and his LRA.
-- The Senate and the House of Representatives should prepare a plan for tying further U.S. military aid to human rights monitoring and Government of Uganda's commitment to peace talks; the latter demonstrated by the convening of negotiations attended by top officials from both sides of the conflict.
With these actions as a start, President Bush and members of the House and Senate could demonstrate that the United States seeks to help children in need wherever they are. Please sign the attached petition and urge our elected officials to act immediately.
Add my voice to Americans of all political and personal backgrounds who want you to make resolving the war in northern Uganda a priority, and begin by taking the above actions.
24. Sportsman For "Code of ethics Policy" in Tennessee
PETITION FOR A "CODE OF ETHICS" POLICY FOR TWRA WILD LIFE OFFICERS
Whereas: We, the Undersigned , do hereby agree in principle to the context of the need for a "Code of Ethics" policy in Tenn. Regarding TWRA's Wild Life Officers. The intent of this petition is to help restore credibility to the Wild Life agency's Officers and to help eliminate what we the undersigned have witnessed or believe to be wide spread "questionable activities" or "UnEthical Practices" on the part of some TWRA Wild Life officers in Tennessee, especially in Western Counties.
We, the undersigned, present this Petition to you, our State's Legislatures, in a effort to bring the issue of this on-going problem to your attention. We also are providing some specific examples of what those problems and issues are which hopefully will persuade and encourage you to support this need for creation and passage of legislation requiring the TWRA to adopt and enforce a clear and simple "Code of Ethics Policy" for the Agency's Wild Life Officers.
We, the undersigned believe Tennessee needs a basic "Code of Ethics Policy", one that will help restore credibility and respect to the Wild Life Officer Positions in our Counties and across the Great State of Tennessee. We believe before that goal can be accomplished, Tennessee must adopt legislation that will govern and control these TWRA officers similarly to those policy's we find on the Books of most other States across America. We are including the State of Texas Code of Ethics Policy which we believe is the best example Tennessee should model it's policy after.
1.Statement of Fact: Due to the apparent absence of any "Code of Ethics" Policy for TWRA Wild Life Officers in Tennessee, We, the Undersigned, have either experienced first hand impacts or have direct or indirect knowledge of facts that suggest such unethical behavior and activities as listed in this petition exist today within the TWR Agency and are routinely practiced by some TWRA Officers across the State of Tennessee. We agree with the principle and intent contained within this Petition.
By signing on to this petition, we encourage you to introduce or support passage of legislation which will adopt a "Code of Ethics" Policy in Tennessee similar to those found in most other States. We believe this legislation will go a long way toward restoring some of the credibility and respect to the Position of Wild Life Officer in the State of Tennessee.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Code of Ethics Policy"
PART I. STANDARDS OF CONDUCT AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST
We believe the Tenn. Legislature should adopt or insist the TWRC adopt the following type Ethics standards.
Wild Life Officers and Other Similar State employees In Tennessee should not be permitted to:
1. Accept or solicit: Gift's, favor's, special prevelidges not available to the private citizens or any other services or benifits that might reasonably tend to influence or buy favor with the officer or employee, including the possible discharge of certain official duties, regardless if the officer or employee knows it's being offered with the intent to influence his or her official conduct or duties;
2. Accept other employment, special previdledges, part time work or engage in a business or professional activity that the officer or employee might reasonably expect would require or induce the officer or employee to disclose confidential information acquired by reason of the official position they hold;
3. Accept other employment, special previdledges, part time work or compensation that could reasonably be expected to impair or compromise the officer's or employee's independence of judgment in the performance of the officer's or employee's official or normal duties;
4. Make personal investments, conduct business or provide services that could reasonably be expected to create a "Conflict of interest" between the officer's or employee's personal or private interest and the public's interest.
5. To intentionally or knowingly solicit, accept, or agree to accept any benefit or any special prevlidges for exercising or providing any service in favor of one individual over another.
PART II. ACCEPTANCE OF GRATUITIES
The States "Code of Ethics" Policy should prohibit all public servants from accepting certain gifts or benefits that could be considered as Bribery, Honoraria ,gratuity or Special favors and violations of which should carry some form of criminal penalty or disciplinary action, up to separation of employment.
Bribery: As public servants they shall be considered committing the offense of bribery if they shall solicit, offer, or accept a "benefit" in exchange for their decision, opinion, recommendation, vote, or other exercises of official discretion that normally would be considered
"unethical" or inappropriate.
Common sense should tell them if something is a bribe or of such nature as those described and If they are not sure one way or the other, the basic policy shall be, If it's not equally available to the general Public, "don't take it or don't do it".
Honoraria: You may not solicit, agree to accept, or accept an honorarium in consideration for services you would not have been asked to provide the general public as part of your official position. Thus, for example, you shall not patrol (unless Property is marked and posted in accordance with Tenn. State Standards for written permission requirements or manage properties (Hunting or fishing rights)for anyone. another example is; you may not take a speaker's fee for speaking if your position with the state is one of the reasons you were asked to speak. If a state officer or the executive head of an agency accepts food, transportation, or lodging under these circumstances, the officer must report it as Part of the annual personal financial statement. (A travel regulation provides that a state employee may not accept money for a travel expense reimbursement from a person that the
employee's employing state agency intends to audit, examine, or investigate or is auditing, examining, or investigating.
*If it's anything that normally would be considered "unethical" or "inappropriate", Common sense should tell the officers not to do it or accept it when they are not sure one way or the other, the policy is: "don't take it or don't do it".
Special favors and Gifts:
Most public servants are subject to one or more prohibitions on the acceptance of "Gifts or Benefits" from persons subject to them in their jurisdiction. For example, a Wild Life Officer in the TWR Agency who performs regulatory functions or conducts inspections or investigations should not be permitted to accept gifts or special benefits and favors from any person whom that Wild Life Officer "knows to be subject to regulations, inspections or investigations by him or his agency.
(a). Similarly, a TWRA Officer who "exercises discretion in connection with contracts, purchases, payments, claims, or other pecuniary transactions" of the agency may not accept a gift, benefit or special favor from a person the Officer knows is interested in or likely to become interested in such a
transaction.
d) These prohibitions should apply regardless of whether the donor or provider is asking for something in return or not..
The statutory definition of "benefits and special favors" are anything reasonably regarded as pecuniary gains or pecuniary advantages. The Code of Ethics Policy should contain, but not be limited to , the following gifts as being considered to be "benefits" or "special favors" and they should be required disclosures as Part of the officers or employee's annual personal financial statements:
* Gifts or Gift Certificates with a value of $ 25. Or greater, to include but not be limited to, hotel rooms/lodging expenses, hunting or fishing trips, Leasing of Hunting or Fishing rights for personal use, monetary gain or to be used in a way that circumvents state law requiring Property owners involvement in the legal process, acceptance of sporting event tickets, rifles, shotguns or handguns for personal use or for possible monetary gain, all of which shall be considered "benefits" or
"Special Favors" when they involve the possibility of an exchange for services or special privileges
where Wild Life Officers are involved.
We, the undersigned registered students of San Diego State University (SDSU), hereby petition the Theatre, Film and Television Department of SDSU, to submit to the students request to have Theatre 525 also known as Stage Combat offered in the next school year 2005-2006.
Stage Combat is a highly popular class for all classmen in the major Theatre Arts. Theatre 525 has been utilized by students in their forever attempt to improve on their skills as actors and professionals in the Theatre industry at SDSU and after graduation.
This personal enrichment is a great addition to ones confidence, health and mind.

We, the undersigned, are moving to change the post delivery system for the residents of Woodridge and Evergreen drives in Steep Falls Maine.
27. Truth in Politics - Introduce penalties against politicians for lies
Politicians around the world are currently infringing upon civil and human rights introducing stricter penalties for civil crimes. While they continually use more and more complex methods to exaggerate truths and tell lies. We call upon all government and multi-lateral bodies to introduce strict penalties for lies or exaggerations in these forums, with personal liability.
28. Council Tax Costs across Berkshire
I like many people am passionate when it comes to Government fees and cost. Council Tax mainly. I want to raise a petition for everyone who lives under the RG postcode. If, like news articles report, the current Council tax is due to rise by up to 18% I want to bring people together in giving our personal opinions on the alleged rise in the current rates. There is lots of press coverage across the whole United Kingdom regarding the Council Tax issue.
I do not feel that I get "value for money" when it comes to Council Tax charges. I live in the RG31 (Tilehurst, Reading area) and am appalled by my current charges without even viewing the final upcoming raise to our current charges. If the Council could guarantee that ALL services that we pay for are honored, as they should then, I, for one would be less "discussed" of the charges for service. However, the only service I can honestly say I receive for my money is getting my bins emptied once a week. The Policing is poor; the streets are dirty, littered with waste and "rubbish". We have our grass verges cut three times a year if were lucky. The roads are generally in a poor condition
. I could go on.
I am asking you all, the people of Berkshire to sign this petition which will be passed on to our local government representative with a covering letter asking for their comments.
Many people in other parts of the United Kingdom are standing up for what they believe and refusing to pay the proposed increase which is due soon. We as a community NEED TO PULL TOGETHER to stand side by side with others and make sure our voices are heard before this country/county forces itself into a situation that will mirror the problems of late similar to the Poll Tax debate and make our living conditions further more difficult than they already are.
If you, as a resident of Berkshire agree or have your own personal view on Council Tax Costs then PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION. A copy of this will be forwarded to all the local newspapers which cover Berkshire in hope of keeping our County as it should and in favour of us, the people. Many people are finding it difficult to afford the current living costs within Berkshire as it is.
Let's not worsen the situation?
Thank you for you time.

30. Abolish pious obligations and personal guarantees
1) The trading fraternity has no such cover as BIFR which has been there for years and big concerns have taken shelter and escaped scot free, why not give another 30 years too for trading?
2)Why should the family be penalised for a company's misfortunes, either the banks and other financial institutions should take a security from the family and not penalise the family when the business started as all were minors.
3)Why should a personal guarantee be signed when anyway pious obligations are there? And why are the institutions giving finanacial aids without finding out or getting securities from the person's background.
The law here is lopsided and should abolish pious obligations and personal guarantees.
