1. Hanbury Grove childrens' play park to be made safe and opened
A park has been built with a good standard of equipment, however ONE resident has made several complaints, and this park is now unfinished, been unduly fenced off and has gone back to planning!
No other residents have been consulted and the Council and Builders keep passing the buck. The other issue is the area outside the park which is dangerous. There are no kerbs/bollards outside the park. Children can not differentiate between the path and the road. One car has already driven in to a residents fence adjacent to the park. The road from Kings Street on to Hanbury Grove is like a ramp straight on to the park, this is an accident waiting to happen.
We will not sit back and wait for an accident to happen, we want something done to prevent an accident! We want somewhere SAFE for the children to play.
2. Mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout!
Are you mad as hell at financial companies who choose to benefit from the Great Bailout? Are you going to take this anymore?
These financial companies in and outside the U.S. will steal massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to give to their foreign and U.S. investors, and to their foreign and U.S. management and employees.
Yelling together, we should be able to stop the ill-considered passage of the Great Bailout, and gain the opportunity to quickly implement a better solution.
Note: The "Great Bailout" refers to the Paulson/Bernanke/Bush (Paulnankebush) sponsored bailout proposal (including any tweaks made to it by Congress) that fundamentally transfers massive wealth from U.S. taxpayers to foreign and U.S. investors in, and foreign and U.S. management and employees of, financial companies in and outside the U.S. It does not refer to fundamentally different solutions, such as those discussed on http://AmericaIs.OurCreation.info .
3. Students should be allowed inside!
It's a dark stormy day. Many students sit shivering in a small covered area.. hoping that they will be let inside.
The students at Stawamus Elementary have had to suffer by being sent out into the cold at many times:when they arrive at school, at recess, at lunch...
All they ask is to be let inside when the weather is bad. Have we gotten what we wanted? No. We have been told to put on our jackets and go outside. Please sign this petition so that students at Stawamus will have a chance to be let inside during those horribly stormy cold days.
4. For the construction of a gazebo outside Ryan Hall
The construction of a gazebo would beautify the Siena college campus and
would provide needed shelter to students who wish to be outside while it rains.
5. Reduce Speed Limit Outside St. Elizabeth’s School & Mill View
The aim of this petition is to reduce the speed limit on the A6 outside St. Elizabeth's School & the Mill View housing area.
Currently the speed limit is 50 miles per hour outside this school and built up area.
Children as young as 4 years old are walking on a very narrow pavement to and from school - no more than 3 feet from speeding lorries and cars.
6. Boycotting use of Wise Guys Pizza at Lyme Central School
This year, Lyme Central school has changed their pizza to Wise Guys. They have pizza every Friday and plainly its just too much.
Pizza is not a healty choice and many many people have people outside of school. It should be limited to once or twice a month.
7. Safe and useful bicycle storage for West Ferryfield
The factors have sent various letters requesting that bicycles aren't stored in stairwells.
But there is no other alternative for people who do not want to lock their bikes outside on the limited number of lamposts to rust, other than carrying them up the stairs to the flat, using up precious space.
8. Complex Suggestions and Complaints
We have on numerous occassions complained about our main gate either getting stuck or not working at all but for years the problem still has not been rectified.
We have been getting complaints about our cars or motorbikes being started up in the mornings before going to work by the residents at Unit 21. None of the other residents mind as they all work. We would like these unlawful complaints to stop. There have also been complaints of the children playing outside.
During the week the children are in there homes before 10:00pm and yet the residents at Unit 21 still complain and shout at the children. We have had instances where they have repremanded the children in a drunken state and many of the residents have witnessed it.
In clause 11.7 in the "Rosslee Agreement of Lease" it clearly states that "you may not cause or commit any nuisance of the property or cause any annoyance or discomfort to other tenants or occupiers of the building." These tenants are continuously inspecting our homes from outside our windows and causing 'discomfort' to the tenants and their children. The tenants are up in arms about the current situation as we all get along and have no complaints about starting our cars in the morning or at any other times.
At the moment most car owners and children are living in fear of the tenants at Unit 21 due to their unfair treatment and constant complaints.
9. Stop SUNY Stony Brook's administration from favoring student athletes
As a freshman at SUNY Stony Brook, every student is required to take and pass a 101 level course within their undergraduate college. Also, during their second semester freshman are required to take a 102 level course within their undergraduate college. It has come to my attention that student athletes are not being required to take the 102 level courses. Such discrimination is appalling, especially when it is occurring at an institution that prides itself on academic excellence.
The argument for the exemption is that athletes have more duties outside the class room than the average student. This claim ignores the fact that athletes choose to take on those responsibilities. It also ignores the fact that all students have duties outside the class room. Unless the administration intends to review every student's additional obligations and determine on a case by case basis whether a student should be required to meet the 102 course requirement they can not stand by this exaggerated claim.
I am asking that you help change this policy, simply by signing the following petition. Either the 102 level courses should be made optional to all students or student athletes should be required to meet the same standards as the rest of us.
Keep in mind; more great accomplishments in history have been achieved through strength of mind than have been accomplished through strength of muscle.
10. STOP The Removal of The CROSS and BLOOD from Soul Chasers Prayer & Outreach Center
HELP SAVE OUR CROSS AND ARTWORK depicting the BLOOD of JESUS. Soul Chasers Prayer and Outreach Center has only been open in Amarillo, Texas since May 1st, 2005. We completely renovated our building which we lease from the San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, the Masons welcomed our Christian Evangelistic Ministry with open arms.
The Master of the Lodge gave his approval on behalf of the Lodge for the placement of the Cross on the roof. In addition approval was granted for the painting of the cross on our back door. The Master of the lodge in agreement with our Lease gave us full aproval to paint the outside of the building and create signs and artwork.
The only sign on the building which is on the front wall, consisting of a flat plywood board, was painted in red paint with "JESUS SAVES" written on it. On the corner of the building and directly under the rooftop cross our artist painted red blood flowing down the side of the building. Written inside the red paint are different quotes, concerning the Blood of Jesus, such as "The Blood of Jesus Sets you Free".
Upon completion of all the outside artwork the Master of the Lodge advised us to cease from any further painting, as members of the lodge had complained about the blood artwork. They found the Blood artwork to be disturbing. The Director of our organization contacted the City of Amarillo Code Enforcement Department to obtain what rules, regulations and laws pertained to all the work done during the renovation of the building.
Per the City of Amarillo, no permits were needed for the artwork, as it is not considered to be signage under city ordinances. String lighting (Christmas lights) were placed on the border of the roof outlining it in white lighting. The Cross was lit up with red christmas lights. These lights are not regulated by the Code Enforcement Department and are not considered to be electrical work which normally needs permits and inspections.
On August 15, 2005 Six months into our lease we received notifcation from our Landlord - San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, that they wanted the Cross removed from the roof, the Cross removed from the back door. They found the lighting on the cross and roof to be a hazard (in their opinion) and therefore disconnected all lights.
They demand immediate removal of all artwork painted with red paint on the outside of the building. The sign and the artwork of the Blood of Jesus. They state that their membership voted on the issue and want it all removed. They state that it violates the Grand Lodge laws which prohibits the Lodges from placement of any signs or emblems denoting a particular religion.
We are in full compliance with our lease agreement. During the renovation and placement of the artwork and crosses the Master of the Lodge and other members were involved and get informed on a daily basis. They consistly gave their approval for all our work, citing we had done a wonderful job and they were very pleased to have us as tenants.
In addition, the supplied equipment such as ladders for us to place the cross on the roof, and to install the lighting. The Master was constantly encouraging us to paint the outside of the building (since it was in poor condition) and told us to paint whatever we wanted. Furthermore, we had even negotiated with the Lodge about possibly renovated a large historical murial on the North wall of the building, which had started to peel and fade.
We presented them with plans of painting a depiction of Jesus Christ surrounded by drug addicts, prostitues and homeless people. The Master of the Lodge stated we had his approval.
Upon consulting with City Officials and our Attorneys, we our in full compliance with the law and followed proper procedure for approval per our lease agreement.
We therefore refuse to comply with the demands for the removal of these items. In addition, we request your support in standing with us on this issue. The Masonic Lodge is only offended by the Christian emblems of the Cross and the Blood of Jesus, because they despise both and teach against them.
The members of the Masonic Lodge are the only individuals that have made any negative comments about our artwork. The cross and the Blood artwork have drawn the comments and attention of every person that frequents sixth street in Amarillo, Texas.
We have been overwhelmed with compliments from all types of people from various faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. The cross and the Blood Artwork have become the Outreach's Identity as it is located on Historic Route 66 amongst Antique shops, biker bars and clubs. We will stand strong for the CROSS and we Proclaim once again that THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
We will not back down from what we belief is our right and priviledge to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, the Death on the Cross, the atonement of our Sins throught the Blood of Jesus and by his death we obtain Salvation, and through Jesus only, not by works or by any other human means.
We are justified and washed in the Blood of Jesus. Satan ! Masons ! You are defeated in Jesus Name and we proclaim Victory so that the Lost may be Saved.
11. Anti-Social Behaviour of Elderly in Dublin
This Petition is being brought forward because of Anti-Social Behaviour of some elderly people living in "Old Folks" Flats in our community. Some of us have lived here for over 20 years with no problems. Last year, a new tenant was moved into the "flats" and since then there has been verbal abuse and pictures being taken of children playing outside their homes, threatening gestures with a cane, verbal abuse to anyone with a dog, and property damage to a vehicle.
Another tenant was moved in recently and same anti-social behaviour is taken place, including threatening a dog with an axe in the prescence of children. There is also a "nun" who routinely calls the "guards" (police)if she hears children playing outside.
Now the reason these flats were built within a community is so the elderly can feel like they are in a community with families, and they are not sent to nursing homes to feel instituionalized or forgotten. These people forget that if children are outside playing, then the likelihood of them being robbed (which has happened on more than one occassion when there were no children or a dog outside)is decreased.
It seems that these elderly people who have a problem with children, people and animals should be institutionalized because they are a threat to themselves as well as the community.
This petition is all about convincing dealers to buy Wrexham A.F.C as soon as posible as well as telling Hamilton we won't move. If he decides that he won't sell he'll get the bulldozers on The Racecourse - we'll stand outside and won't move.
13. Concerned Citizens Want a Traffic Light Installed
Citizens of the Camden School District, as well as employees and visitors of the Camden Central School District residing outside of those areas, petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of State Rt 13 and Florence Hill Rd in Camden, NY.
14. Bike Rack Law
Our bikes were stolen while we were shopping at a local CVS pharmacy on a strip shopping center.
We want strip centers to have mandatory bicycle racks outside of their stores.
15. Re-Establish Ninth Period at Anthony Rossi Intermediate School
Anthony Rossi Intermediate School formerly had a ninth period, until higher officials decided to remove this "superfluous" period (as referred to by some faculty) for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years. Ninth period provided forty (40) minutes to students to work on homework, go outside, visit the library, study, assemble for school clubs, and participate in other educational and non-academic activities.
The removal of ninth period resulted in an addition of five (5) minutes to each period. Since the elimination of ninth period, it is becoming harder and harder for pupils of this school -
* to visit the library (which includes borrowing books and other media for required Accelerated Reader tests, taking the tests, use reference books at the library to aid them in their school work, and other library related activities)
* to get together in groups for school clubs (which includes all clubs at Rossi Intermediate school that would like to meet during ninth period in order to (a) have more time for their club meetings [ninth period and after school] and (b) meet during ninth period so the instructor(s) and student(s) don't have to stay after school, reducing the amount of students on the activity bus, and possibly reducing the number of missed busses,
* to study (this is especially true with multiple student studying, which has been proven to be more effective), work on group projects, and partake in other activities normally available during ninth period. Presently, the current period schedule provides less than twenty (20) minutes to complete all of these activities (mathematical equation: one period = 40 minutes, silent reading is ½ of the lunch/silent reading period, minus two minutes for the bell change. So, (45 x .5)-2 is 20 [rounded from 20.1], then you must take into consideration extra time to get a pass written, walk down to the library, walk back from the library and other lag time due to the shortness of silent reading), that's only if you can get a pass, seeing that only three students may be permitted a pass to the library at any given time.

18. A Cystic Fibrosis Centre in Toronto
We, the undersigned, hereby wish for there to be a full time health centre for people living with cystic fibrosis. This would allow for a place, outside of hospitals, where families and individuals can go to receive treatments, be cared for when they're ill, and speak to others dealing with the same medical problems as themselves.
19. Lights at the Joyce avenue
This is a danourous intersectin outside our childrens Child Care Centre.
People do dangerous U-turns from the far side into the Service station with no thought to giving way to the cars leaving Joyce Avenue.
There is an ever increasing number of acidents outside where our children are being cared for and we don't want another incident like at the Roundhouse Childcare Centre in Janurary
Please sign this petition to go to the Traffic Management Dept of Banyule Council.
20. We should be able to get links from outside neopets in our guilds!
Ok well lets see...umm it so unfair!!! Come help us be able to put links from outside neopets into our guilds! It would be helpful for guild owners!!!please!??!? Sign and let's show neopets!
Many of us have gone through life blind and accepting our society's tradition of using animals for clothing, entertainment and research studies. Then we eventually learn that animals are treated so terribly in our country and the countries around us. A big contributer to the poor treatment of animals is within zoos and circuses. Please sign this petition if you are sick and tired of seeing these defensless animals die and live miserably outside of their natural habitat.
22. HELP a Young Orca Whale Live Free
This petition is to object to the permanent capture of a young Orca whale, named A-73 (the "A" is for her family, or pod name, and the "73" is her birth order in the pod).
A-73 was noticed a few months ago in Puget Sound, where her family does not often travel. Her pod seems to have left her behind after she was orphaned, and she is very ill with legions and dietary problems including malnutrition.
Right now this highly intelligent, social, mammal, has been seen playing with driftwood and rubbing herself against logs for hours at a time. Scientist say it's because she is lonelyimagine the loneliness she would feel if she were to spend the rest of her life in captivity, without the freedom to hunt, or swim, or play. Instead, she could be doomed to a life of circus tricks and confinement in a pen, which places her so painfully close to freedom.
The Vancouver Aquarium graciously has agreed to take the whale in for medical treatment and try as quickly as possible to re-introduce her to her pod. However, the US and Canadian governments have not developed a solid and responsible plan incase the transfer of A-73 and the proposed reunion with her family pod, who is around Vancouver from June to September, is unsuccessful. Being that the pod initially abandoned the young whale, some scientists say the chance of reintroduction could be slim.
Would the aquarium industry then be allowed to add the orca to its collection of captives?
We would like assurances from the Canadian government that that there is
absolutely no chance that this whale will end up in captivity for the rest of her
life.
This petition in particular asks:
1.) The Vancouver Aquarium to guarantee every attempt will be made at releasing A-73 to live with it's native pod;
2.) If the pod does not accept A-73, the Vancouver Aquarium should GARAUNTEE the release and further monitoring of the whale outside of captivity. The Aquarium should administer any treatment needed, outside of a sea-pen or captive enclosure;
3.) The Canadian and United States governments to create and enforce laws regarding the capture and treatment of all whales in the Canadian & U.S. waters-- including the import of wild captured animals into Canadian & U.S. aquariums.
23. Megaherz outside of Germany
Megaherz has never had their CDs widely distributed outside of the German-speaking countries of Europe. We'd like to change that and express our support!
