2. Stop speeding vehicles in Woodcutters Crossing
Woodcutters Crossing is a family development with family values. We all have children and or pets.
We like to enjoy our neighborhood by taking walks and having talks with friends and neighbors. We enjoy the East Tennessee seasons by celebrating our time outdoors.
We do not want any of our children or animals injuried or killed due to someone speeding in our neighborhood.
We have already had one incident with someone losing control of their vehicle due to excess speed and going airborne and hitting trees, we do not need another.
3. Against Low Income Condos or Houses Being Built in our Neighborhood
Charlotte has allowed a construction company to buy the golf course and passed zoning on building low income government supported housing.
Our neighborhood has already been subjected to increased crime rates and lowered property value.
If these low income government supported houses/apartments are allowed to be constructed in our predominately working class privately owned suburban neighborhood, then our property value will plummet. We will become what Charlotte calls a challenged neighborhood. The values will go down and crime will definately increase. Drugs will infiltrate our neighborhood, dealers will line the streets and crime will increase to high proportions.
We do not want anymore trouble. This project has to be terminated. The golf course is the supposed construction site. Those houses used to be worth at least 120,000 plus. After the government housing arrives those houses will be lucky to sell at all.
The city steadily increases our taxes, but wants to take away what we worked hard to achieve and will make our investments worth less than what we paid.
Please help by signing this petition to stop the construction of government housing in our neighborhood.
4. Birchwood Park Neighborhood Watch
I, Brian Webster and my wife, Anita are new homeowners on Walnut Way having relocated here in early March of this year. Recent crime statistics for our neighborhood have alarmed me as a new resident and rescent victims to a daytime Burgalary on August 9th.
I wish to survey interest and motivation to join with me and my wife to create our own neighborhood watch and proactively extinguish this growing problem in our neighborhood.
5. OPPOSING ALCOHOL AND DRUG REHAB HOUSE IN VICTORVILLE
WE AS CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE ARE OPPOSED TO HAVING ANY ALCOHOL AND DRUG REHABILITATION CENTER IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
Fullerton Drive, Clearwater Drive, Harbor Drive, and Sedalia Drive in Columbus, Ohio, has had a long history of speeding vehicles at all times of the day and night. This is a residential street with many pedestrians. Children use this street as their main paths to the neighborhood Elementary and Middle Schools.
Too many speeding driver's cruse up and down our streets like they are race car driver's in the Indy 500. On July 29, 2003, a person in a stolen car plowed through 4 yards, knocking down trees, trash cans, bricks, and coming within a few feet of a resident's car and porch. A number of neighbor's cars have been struck, and damaged due to such driving. What about the children of the neighborhood, are they to be hit next?
There are a couple of other concerns our neighborhood has. One concern is that our street lights are not properly working, and some haven't been on in months. Property has been coming up missing from people's yards, and cars.
We, the residents of Blacklick Estates, would like to see something done to stop these problems that have been occurring in our neighborhood.
7. Increase Safety in Timberland Place
We are asking the developers of our neighborhood to include additional safety measures to better protect the residents of Timberland Place.
