1. Keep Bushwick Ballfield closed for the safety of our community children 
Bushwick Ballfield is a vital part of our community in Bushwick Brooklyn. The past few years our park has been taken over by notorious gangs and thugs that have created a hostile environment for our baseball Little League and football programs.
We have witnessed everything from gang initiations to drug use and drug buys inside the park while our kids and coaches were present. The park is constantly dirty with garbage thrown everywhere including broken liquor bottles.
The two park entrances constantly smell like urine because its used as a public bathroom. Our members are being subjected to this on a daily basis and now its time to take our park back.
2. Reinstate Fire Chief Gary Thomas
As everyone knows Fire Chief Gary Thomas was fired after 29 years of service to his community.
This petition was originated by concerned citizens of Carroll County and is no way associated with Gary Thomas.
3. No To Building Laundry Mat in a Residential Area
Over the past 6 years, we have lived in a calm and peaceful residential area. Many of our neighbors have made wonderful changes to their homes which has made our community here around Bissell Street seem more lively and friendly. Most importantly violence free. We live in a residential area.
Lets get together and keep it that way. Lets not allow anyone come build a laundry mat which will change it all for many of us. Some of our neighbors would be forced to move if we allow this to happen, our street will not longer be a residential area. We would be exposing ourselves to losing the safety of our community.
4. Ellington Community wants Board Step Down
There are a few reasons we want the board to step down and here are some supporting evidence:
1. Grounds are not maintained consistently.
2. Rare communication from board members.
a. Do not return emails
b. Do not return phone calls
3. There is limited communication between board members and also with the community.
4. Money is being spent without proper authorization from community:
a. Purchased a tractor.
b. Hired a maintenance man.
c. Hired someone to put out newsletters.
d. Hired officers; we don't know what their contract
states, how many there are, how much they are
getting paid, etc.
5. Individuals are added to payroll without proper
authorization from community.
6. Vendors come out and are not met by any board
member and leave.
7. Pool is not up to code.
8. Club house dues were raised without proper
authorization.
9. Board members have been rude and obnoxious with
the community.
10. Promises are made and not kept.
a. The opening of the club house on Sundays.
11. Board members do not show up for scheduled
meetings.
12. Emergency meeting called by previous treasurer,
which was denied by board members.
13. Not a fully functional board with only 4 members.
14. Monies sent in by homeowners have not been
cashed after months of being held onto or they
have been lost by the board.
15. The board is not forthcoming with information that
is privileged to the community.
OUR NEIGHBORHOOD HAS NOTICED ALOT OF TRAFFIC AND ILLEGAL ACTIVITY GOING ON AT THIS RESIDENCE.

WE ARE TIRED OF IT!! WE WOULD LIKE OUR CITY OFFICALS TO PUT A STOP TO THIS ACTIVITY.
WE AS A COMMUNITY WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS ANYMORE! GET THE DRUGS, AND PROSTITUTION OUT OF OUR COMMUNITY.
6. Concerned American Venice Citizens
We are in agreement with the town of Babylon that the American Venice is one of the most unique residential communities in Long Island, which is one of the reasons we the homeowners were drawn to this waterfront community.
However our main concern is the flood situation that we are all affected by every time the moon is out or we have north east wind. The tide water comes up from the sewers, under ground and over the bulk heads.
These floods keep mailman from coming in. We have to walk through wading water to get in front doors, or in cars. Most of the time we have to park cars three blocks away because you can’t drive through. Crawl spaces are full of water all the time, which create a health hazard and our lawns are inundated so bad you can’t even let your animal out or enjoy your back yards. Garbage cans float, and some of our neighbors are having trouble selling, because of high insurance cost.
When the weather prediction is “possible flooding conditions” Sleepless nights are spent, making sure your vehicles are not under water, or worst going out in the middle of the night in twenty degree weather because water came up so high that everyone got caught off guard and have to start emptying out their garages and move their cars.
Would we prefer to have a park and a Historical Preservation or Preserve our community?
7. Boys & Girls Club Request for Armory
Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island - Keaau Unit has been serving our community's youth at Keaau Middle School for 3 years.
It is time for B.G.C. Keaau to have a place to call home.
We are requesting long term use of the Armory facilities to provide our afterschool programming and prevention training to our community's youth.
In the past year the Four Corner area crime has been steadley rising due to the growth of the central Florida area. We have reached a population explosion in this area.
We have approximately 1 law enforcement to every 30,000 persons in this area.
Because we are so far on the end of the county we are lacking the proper attention for protection.
We need more law enforcement on duty or create our on city. We are in the middle of four counties and we need to take charge of our homes, businesses, and lives.
9. No to ALCOHOL sales on our sidewalks
The citizens for community vales wants to take a stand for our community. We do not want our community to be an advertisment for drinking alcohol and/or drinking alcohol and driving.
This sends a negitive message to our youth.
10. Save the Columbus Watertower Sledding Hill
To keep the town's only legitimate sledding hill for our community.
Support our community's dedication to our youth and save the watertower sledding hill today.
This is to create a Neighbourhood watch program for our community and to keep our children safe.
We are trying to get our community to start a Neighborhood Watch Program for the protection of all the children that come into our area.
12. Litter Control - improve streets within our community
This petition is an attempt to get help for improvement on our streets within our community.
13. No Mobile Homes at Hideout
In October 2002, a 76ft mobile home was placed on Hideout lot 1875. This is in direct violation of the Hideout protective covenants, rules and regulations, and building codes.
14. SAY "NO" to SEWER WATER IN THE STEINHATCHEE RIVER !!!
The D.E.R. is considering a permit to Zaney foods Inc. to dump treated liquids from motel and restaurant into the Steinhatchee river. Solids to be hauled away. I believe this to be harmful for our River, and our Community. If you agree please write the D.E.R., or sign this petiton.
