Jay Lindsey is an incredible R&B singer/songwriter who's talent is simply pure genius. He has been in pursuit of a record deal for many years, but in the music industry, more often than not, it's not a matter of what you know, but who you know.

Jay Lindsey has been singing since the tender age of 4, starting in the church with his family gospel group, "God's Chosen," lead by his mother, Reverend Sandra David. This amazing artist later ventured to New York City, where he was noticed by rap legend Big Daddy Kane, who took Jay Lindsey under his wing, and put him in the music video for Kane's single, "Hold It Down." He would go on to be noticed by the likes of fellow R&B artist Tyrese, who calls him "The Truth," Dru-Hill member, Jazz, as well as multi-platinum group 112, who took to twitter to label Jay Lindsey as BOLD, AUTHENTIC, CREATIVE, and HEARTFELT, after they heard his song, "Last Words Before Suicide."

In a way, Jay Lindsey is somewhat reminiscent of the late great R&B legend, Donny Hathaway, because of the pain that he intertwines between his lyrics and melodies. Other songs, such as "4 A Long Time," which is the first cover song Jay Lindsey ever did, showcases some of Jay Lindsey's vocal abilities. This extraordinary talented artist has endured homelessness, slept in abandoned buildings, sung on the streets of Hollywood Blvd in the cold and rain on many occasions, and more... all for his dream of being an official professionally signed recording artist. Jay Lindsey may not have a huge fan base at the moment. Due to limited resources, this artist has not been able to make a professional music video, or promote his music like he would like to, but his talent speaks volumes, and quite simply... the kid is good. If you go search on Wikipedia every news channels broadcast on our television is privately owned channels, which has no proof of any non-relation of the owner with party leaders. Anyone can buy a portion of time by paying channels to express their views by hiding the realities for their own benefits so i think there should be a law which should limit the channels by making them non private so people from different walk of life invest in the channels and so channels cannot broadcast something for their own personal likes , dislikes or being attached to one view.

Dispatch Broadcasting wants to charge Dish Network a 350%+ price increase to carry their channels! Dish refuses to pass that fee on to their customers so they have declined Dispatch broadcasting's offer and now Dispatch Broadcasting has blacked out WTHR, Indianapolis' NBC affiliate.

Dispatch Broadcasting and WTHR claim that the consumers aren't losing out because we can acquire their signal for free with a digital antenna. This is NOT true as many people, including myself, get every channel but WTHR! They also claim that we can stream it online, and yes we can, but I for one am hearing impaired and there are no captioning options for streaming live TV.

Dispatch Broadcasting is putting greed over providing for their loyal viewers. They may be trying to punish Dish Network, but in the end its only the customers who lose out!

Dispatch Broadcasting runs free over the air channels and wants a huge price increase for a FREE channel! These channels are filled with commercials and advertisement which should MORE than provide enough income for them!

Which is harder to find the higgs boson or love?

Therefore I believe love is a "good" analogy for the higgs boson. Life appears meaningless until "love" joins it, and things have little meaning without love, therefore the higgs boson could be metaphorically renamed as the "Love particle".

How do people long for love but never find it, it finds them. For love still exists in space where there is no gravity.

Unless you believe in love, you will never find it. If scientists never believed the higgs boson was possible, would the multi-billion pound LHC have been built?

...and when many people refer to the God particle, it feels more of a insult to believers, as how many people who distinctively believe God does not exist will look for a particle they don't believe exists? It appears to misrepresent both parties. The higgs boson particle is thought to be associated with a field that is responsible for giving other particles their mass.

Please can we stop misrepresenting knowledge and respect, that science and religion can co-exist together. That one must cease. Love is the highest respect possible. I love science. I love God, I love you. But to prove love, would require a more powerful experiment than the LHC, it requires life.

The "Love Particle" explains how we can finally move on and not be stuck with backward ideologies.

At the request made by the mother of a child sexual victim, the Judge at the High Court in Sri Lanka (Case No 39/2004), made a recommendation to the Attorney General to withdraw the indictment.

After considering all the facts involved and in view of the sheer severity of the damage that could cause to the victim in this particular case, the AG agreed to withdraw the charges. Unfortunately the news papers published the details of the case including false information violating the child's right to privacy and confidentiality, totally destroying the intentions of the courts and causing immense damage to the victim and her family.

This secondary victimization has severely damaged the victim without giving her the opportunity to rebuild her life.

Medication used to treat the most common form of childhood leukemia is in short supply, adding to the largest nationwide shortage of critical lifesaving hospital medications in nearly a decade.

All five pharmaceutical companies that make the injection drug methotrexate, which treats acute lymphoblastic leukemia by slowing the growth of cancer cells, have either slowed and stopped manufacturing of the drug, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Not only did 2011 see the sudden death of Joe Gentile, but the removal of intelligent programming and music from weekdays (and even parts of the weekend).

It is totally unfair to get rid of Angry White Male, Job Talk, John DiVita's Morning Show, and other programming that made WJJG an amazing radio station.

Mancow should not be on at all. He is incoherent and his show does not belong on a community radio station like WJJG. Michael Savage should be aired in two hours or removed too, and sent back to WIND.

Genuine national reconciliation and peace talks with armed ethnic groups constitute the best single means whereby the true benefit of the people could be realized. The people long for a cease-fire agreement between the Tatmadaw and armed ethnic groups and for the peaceful solution of political problems through meaningful dialogue.

Therefore as an initial step towards a negotiated settlement that would lead to national reconciliation, we would request the government to release instantly and unconditionally all prisoners of conscience; to declare immediately a cease-fire between the Tatmadaw and armed ethnic groups; to resolve political conflict through dialogue; and to create conditions that would enable individuals living as refugees in various countries abroad to come back to Burma in comfort and security.

Quoting from the Museum of Broadcast Communications:

“The policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission that became known as the “Fairness Doctrine” is an attempt to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced and fair. The FCC took the view, in 1949, that station licensees were “public trustees”, and as such had an obligation to afford reasonable opportunity for discussion of contrasting points of view on controversial issues of public importance. The Commission later held that stations were also obligated to actively seek out issues of importance to their community and air programming that addressed those issues. With the deregulation sweep of the Reagan Administration during the 1980s, the Commission dissolved the fairness doctrine. 1”

“The fairness doctrine ran parallel to Section 315 of the Communications Act of 1937 which required stations to offer “equal opportunity” to all legally qualified political candidates for any office if they had allowed any person running in that office to use the station. The attempt was to balance–to force an even handedness. Section 315 exempted news programs, interviews and documentaries. But the doctrine would include such efforts. Another major difference should be noted here: Section 315 was federal law, passed by Congress. The fairness doctrine was simply FCC policy. 1”

“By 1985, the FCC issued its Fairness Report, asserting that the doctrine was no longer having its intended effect, might actually have a “chilling effect” and might be in violation of the First Amendment. In a 1987 case, Meredith Corp. v. FCC, the courts declared that the doctrine was not mandated by Congress and the FCC did not have to continue to enforce it. The Congress voted to enact the Fairness Doctrine into law; however, it was vetoed by President Regan. The second attempt ran out of support with a threatened veto by President Bush the First. Today, we find, “there is no required balance of controversial issues as mandated by the fairness doctrine. The public relies instead on the judgment of broadcast journalists and its own reasoning ability to sort out one-sided or distorted coverage of an issue. 1”

A license permits broadcasting, but the licensee has no constitutional right to be the one who holds the license or to monopolize a...frequency to the exclusion of his fellow citizens. There is nothing in the First Amendment which prevents the Government from requiring a licensee to share his frequency with others.... It is the right of the viewers and listeners, not the right of the broadcasters, which is paramount.

The fairness doctrine would bring back serious discourse, lengthier soundbites and deeper debates; it will not stifle dissent or free speech it will invite and embrace all voices.

What is a Puppy Mill?

A puppy mill is a large-scale commercial dog breeding operation where profit is given priority over the well-being of the dogs. Unlike responsible breeders, who place the utmost importance on producing the healthiest puppies possible, breeding at puppy mills is performed without consideration of genetic quality. This results in generations of dogs with unchecked hereditary defects.

Puppy mill puppies are typically sold to pet shops—usually through a broker, or middleman—and marketed as young as eight weeks of age. The lineage records of puppy mill dogs are often falsified.

How Are Animals Treated in Puppy Mills?

Puppy mills usually house dogs in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions, without adequate veterinary care, food, water and socialization. Puppy mill dogs do not get to experience treats, toys, exercise or basic grooming. To minimize waste clean-up, dogs are often kept in cages with wire flooring that injures their paws and legs—and it is not unusual for cages to be stacked up in columns. Breeder dogs at mills might spend their entire lives outdoors, exposed to the elements—or crammed inside filthy structures where they never get the chance to feel the sun or a gust of fresh air on their faces.

The BBC News online website (http://news.bbc.co.uk) recently underwent a complete re-design, the results of which we believe were detrimental to the overall user experience and quality of the website.

Over 3,500 comments have been posted in response to the editor, the overwhelming majority of which are negative and detail specific reasons why the old design was better and should be retained.

Nevertheless, the editor arrogantly insists that "reverting to the old design is not something we're considering", blatantly ignoring to even acknowledge valid requests and comments by thousands of license fee payers, who in effect have paid for a failed re-design.

We have set up this petition in order to pressure the BBC into acknowledging the issue and considering options other than trying to fix a design that has failed in so many ways. We would rather see money spent wisely on making minor improvements to the previous design, a design that worked so well for the majority of its users.

We are not against change - change is welcome, but it should be meaningful, well thought out and not breaking up things that already work perfectly!

I am a former resident of Australia all my family moved here in 1973, my father four brothers and sister are here in Australia and I lived here from 1973 to 1979 when my mum decided to take me to the UK without my fathers permission and told my father didn’t care and was brainwashed into believing these things, well it took me till I was 21 to track my father down and all my family here in Australia I came back to see them and to see my gran and pops who live here along with my aunties and cousins and other family members in 1989.

I returned to the UK and kept in touch with my family, during the following years I married in the uk and had a very troubled marriage being subjected to violence whilst having to bring up two children of my ex wife’s and stayed to look after my mum who is disabled and required lifts to and from the hospital and shops for her daily needs, she was in and out of hospital on a regular basis having strokes and having a leg she could not walk very far on, she is now in sheltered accommodation which is warden controlled, Who at the time was withholding information from me relating to my former residents visa, it was not until November 2006 that I came across my former residents visa which my mother had been hiding, whilst I was looking for some stuff for her while she was in hospital again, I was devastated to know she had hidden it from me as it was my way of returning to my family in Australia. I confronted her about this as it was important for me to have the chance to return home to Australia and be with my family and she knew this was what I had wanted to do for years, she new I had been on to immigration over the years and looked at returning to be with my family but she also new they were not helpful and would not tell me any information on my former visa status. this is where my troubles started, I contacted immigration in the uk and lodged my application for a return residents visa, meeting all the requirements on the website, close family ties and a genuine reason why I had not applied to return within the last 10 years as I did not know the visa existed and with my disabled mother to look after at that time.

I sent in all the required paper work only to be told I would be refused as they did not think I was going to live in Australia and I did not have a genuine commitment to stay. well I arrived in Sydney in January 2010 after tying up all my affairs in the Uk to lodge my application here which I did in person, in the interview with immigration my dad and step mum came and we explained everything to them, I was told I had a good case and it was favourable, I thought fantastic I can stay at last, well two weeks later I get a call saying we will not grant your residents return visa so advise you to withdraw your application as immigration do not believe I did not know my residents return visa existed, when I asked them how I was supposed to prove I did not know it existed they said sorry you cant prove it. I have now been and looked on the migration review tribunals website and see cases very similar to mine with less evidence and less family being approved and am now about to lodge my next application with all my evidence of family ties and reasons why I should stay. I cant believe that as all my family are here in Australia the fact I was raised here until I was 11, I have a job waiting for me and my family who are Australians born and raised here who want me here to be with my family, and I have to face immigration and be treated so badly, to the point of my case worker calling me in the uk when I lodged my application and shouting at me. I have considered my self Australian all my life all I want is the right to my family life and my residence that I had taken from me against my wishes.

I contacted The Priminister of Australia through his website back in 2007 explaining my case who then forwarded my letter to the head of immigration, the response I got was sorry immigration have strict guide lines to follow and that is the law, if this was the case then when I lodged my second application in Australia showing I am here with a genuine commitment to stay they then come up with a different excuse stating that they did not believe I did not know the visa existed. Seems they come up with anything they feel like to reject genuine people from being with their family. I have grown very close to my family here in Australia I love my family and want to stay to enjoy life with them my father is a quite man who says little but is upset at the fact of me having to return to the uk it would break his heart along with the rest of my family members, especially Jason, and his wife Jodie and my nieces Elizabeth and tiffany my brother martin and his wife Joanne and their little ones Clare and Liam and my brother Tim and my sister Daniel and her husband nick and children Sarah and jack. I love them all as they do me and we want the chance to be back together as a complete family. We have lost many years and now want the chance to spend the rest of our lives as one family not a family torn apart and in two different countries.

SWORD FIGHT against BREAST CANCER!

CALLING ALL WARRIORS! Raise your mighty swords, in the Battle, against Stage IV metastasis of Breast Cancer. Dana, just had her 2nd scan, the results show, the cancer is 50% less than the last scan.

HOWEVER, we have had to cut her treatments from 3 per week, to once per week, due to insufficient funds. We are desperately seeking donations, however, we understand, if you are unable to help in this way.

Please, in the very least pass this along, to all your associates, friends, & otherwise. You would be amazed to find out how many lives, have been affected by Breast Cancer. If everyone, passes this along, & then everyone, who receives this, passes it on, & so on, the possibilities are endless.

I have not seen anything to make me believe that the american flag has any reason to be banned. What i have seen is a lot of news reports and articles talking about banning the flag from school and about how the ballet is being stuffed to go in their favor.

Feathers that you use in your pillows, blankets and clothing come from somewhere. Most notably, from animals. This is deemed acceptable as it is cheap and 'humane' as there feathers are used after slaughter.
A new, horrifying treatment is plucking the feathers from live geese.

Instead of just plucking the bird once after slaughter you can pluck the bird several times while it is still alive. This equates to more money.

Kathi McDonald's landed the vocalist her first big professional gig when she was attending a concert and joined in as part of the audience. McDonald's powerful voice drew Ike Turner's notice in a club called the Winterland, and he invited the aspiring singer to his and Tina Turner's next rehearsal. McDonald had snagged a ...spot in the Ikettes, the Turners' backing group. It was a heady and magical beginning for someone who never had any formal lessons.

Born in Washington state in 1948, McDonald performed professionally for the first time around Seattle when she was 12 years old. At the age of 19 she set off for San Francisco and its burgeoning musical climate, where she met the Turners and, through her association with them, took the first step on a career path that would span more than four decades.

Not long after the evening at Winterland, her talent caught the attention of Big Brother & the Holding Company's Sam Andrew. McDonald threw her lot in with the band in 1969, leading to appearances on the albums Can't Go Home Again, How Hard It Is, and Be a Brother. She went on to sing with Mad Dogs & Englishmen for Joe Cocker, and later sang with Leon Russell's Shelter People. Her session work included recordings for such artists as the Rolling Stones, Nils Lofgren, Rita Coolidge, Delaney & Bonnie, and Dave Mason. Her work for other musical artists totals up to appearances on almost 160 albums, more than six dozen of which achieved gold status. In addition, McDonald also launched a solo career in 1974 with the release of the album Insane Asylum. The recording was arranged by Pete Sears, whose formal band associations include Hot Tuna and Jefferson Starship.

Insane Asylum featured performances by Tower of Power, the Pointer Sisters, Aynsley Dunbar, John Cippolina, Neil Schon, and Ronnie Montrose. Kathi did not release another solo effort for 20 years, when Save Your Breath appeared. Above and Beyond followed in 1999, featuring contributions from Lee Oskar on harmonica and Brian Auger on keyboards. McDonald devoted more than two decades to recording and performing in collaboration with Long John Baldry, and the duo scored with their version of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" when it was released in Canada. The song reached number 2 in Australia and also made the US charts.

Aside from collaborative efforts Kathi has solo projects of her own: Insane Asylum(1974), David Briggs, producer of the second Alice Cooper album Easy Action and multiple early Neil Young discs is at the helm on Insane Asylum. With arrangements by The Jefferson Starship's Pete Sears, whose formal band associations include Hot Tuna this is a showcase for the chops and musicianship of McDonald. There's a terrific reading of the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" and an interesting first track co-written by McDonald and Pete Sears, "Bogart to Bowie," with Nils Lofgren on guitar and Bobbye Hall on percussion. The photos of McDonald on the back cover are chaotic and beautiful, a cartoon caricature of these adorns the cover, the illustration by Seiko Kashihara. With Ronnie Montrose on guitar and Pete Sears on keys for a heavy version of "(Love Is Like A) Heatwave," you basically have Big Brother & the Holding Company/ Montrose/Jefferson Starship covering Martha & the Vandellas. With what may be the best performance on the disc, "Threw Away My Love," the second Sears/McDonald original, Kathi's great, bluesy vocal fights and Journey's Neil Schon on guitar give the track tons of soul! "Freak Lover" features the late Starship violinist Papa John Creach and is appropriately manic for an album about insanity.

Willie Dixon's composition, "Insane Asylum," with Pete Sears and Nils Lofgren, is a blues workout deluxe. Neil Schon and Pete Sears accompany Kathi on a Peter Frampton tune, "All I Want to Be." Lofgren and Sears do a heavy cover of Neil Young's "Down to the Wire" for the singer to display her wonderful voice. There is an abundance of talent here, creating a nice platform for this important singer. Insane Asylum also featured performances by Tower of Power, the Pointer Sisters, Aynsley Dunbar, John Cippolina.

Her next solo project was Save Your Breath (1994), then Above And Beyond (1999) featuring contributions from Lee Oskar on harmonica and Brian Auger on keyboards. She reunited with Big Brother & the Holding Company in California for a concert on New Years Eve, 1997.

Her self-titled Kathi McDonald (2005) is a triumph in a long and prestigious career. This CD showcases the still incredible voice, timing, soulful delivery, and talent that is Kathi McDonald, the musician's choice as singer, the musician's musician, and still the biggest little white girl to ever sing the blues coming out of the West Coast. The main forces behind the CD, Pete Slauson and Ann Pierson (partners for years in the nineties at 2B1 Music, Maritime Hall, San Francisco, CA).

The City of Dieppe, New Brunswick has proposed a “Quebec Style” Commercial Signage Bylaw that all commercial signage must be in “ FRENCH ONLY “ or Bilingual while banning English only signage with fines for non compliance.

English and French are both the Official languages in Canada and both Language have Equal Rights and Privileges.

This is clearly DISCRIMINATION against the English language and against our Canadian Constitutional Rights to freedom of expression.

Beginning in January 2007 and published in April 2009 The Department of Homeland Security issued a report stating that trends in political extremism will increase the frequency of domestic terrorist acts in United States of America.

Preexisting mental instability and/or discriminatory beliefs are fueled by the instability of the socio-economic level, but they are consistently resonated and justified by irresponsible media. Misleading messages and falsified claims display confusing cue such as logo, set design, and pundit labeling, making it difficult for high risk viewers to differentiate between political opinions and facts.

Please sign this petition if you believe that the government has no right to impede on 1st Amendment rights, but you accept the responsibility to reject all medias that inflames violent extremism and the organizations that support these dangerously irresponsible messages.

I have been amazed at the current web of negativity that the media is spreading and the overall pessimistic response that it is having on society.

There is no denying that there is a lot to feel unhappy about what with the current economic crisis and the knock on effect it is having on households and businesses around the world. Add to that war, famine, disease, poverty, crime, global warming and it’s no surprise that our media outlets are full of doom and gloom.

Despite this, and as one of the UK’s current unemployed, I am trying to remain optimistic and believe that it is only a matter of time before things improve. However, when I switch on the TV, turn up the radio or open a newspaper my optimism is challenged.

I’m not for one moment unsympathetic to those individuals and organisations that are the victims of the stories that fill our headlines. All I am saying is, wouldn’t it make a change if for once the media concentrated on bringing us positive news items rather than negative and took a step forward in inspiring us?

It is for this reason that I have started a campaign to make Wednesday 25 March 2009 Good News Day.

So whether it is news, money, business, sport, showbiz, entertainment, travel or even the weather, I am calling for the media to focus its attention on Wednesday 25 March 2009 and present us just with stories that are true, encouraging and uplifting … stories of those that have survived against the odds … stories of businesses that are doing well … help and advice on how to survive this economic crisis … in other words, positive stories to motivate us.

I appreciate that Good News Day is not going to change the world but it just might make us change how we view it, if only for 24 hours. After all, if we look at our lives close enough haven’t we all got something to be grateful for?

With your help, let’s make Wednesday 25 March 2009 Good News Day!

In December 2008, WNBC Reporter / Producer Carolyn Gusoff was let go from her position due to budget cuts. For the millions of New Yorkers who grew up watching her and loved having her in their living rooms, it was a devastating reality to accept.

Those millions of New Yorkers owe Carolyn a debt of gratitude and they want to see her back on the air again.

Carolyn has received numerous honors for her work including a 2004 New York Emmy Award for On-Camera Performance/General Assignment Reporting.

She has also garnered eight New York Emmy nominations for coverage including her reporting of the American Airlines Flight 587 crash and The Belmont Stakes. Carolyn has earned dozens of Long Island Fair Media Council FOLIO awards for a wide range of topics including racial issues, science, health, environmental, political and feature reporting.

In 2008, she received FOLIO awards in the categories of “Enterprise Reporting” and “Investigative Journalism in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast”.

She also won a total of seven first-place Society of Professional Journalists/Press Club of Long Island awards for deadline and feature reporting; a national commendation award from The American Women in Radio and Television; a local Emmy award for outstanding coverage of a breaking story; an Associated Press/New York Spot News Award for “Avianca Crash”; and a United Press International/New York Broadcast Award for outstanding achievement, investigative documentary, "No Quick Fix."
