1. Support Morrisons Newmarket Planning Application

Newmarket is currently not well served by foodstores and would benefit from a wider choice.

We believe the old gasworks site at Exning Road site is the best available foodstore site in Newmarket as it is brownfield and on the edge of the town centre.

Morrisons has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public. The majority - 90% of respondents - said they supported the proposals and were happy to see the site redeveloped by Morrisons.

A planning application has been submitted to Forest Heath District Council, who will shortly decide whether to give the go ahead.

Please sign this petition to let councillors know the local community want a new Morrisons in Newmarket.

2. Support Morrisons Christchurch Application

This petition is in support of plans for a new Morrisons foodstore at Stony Lane, Christchurch.

There is a need for more foodstores and greater shopping choice within Christchurch. The new Morrisons planned for Stony Lane would provide residents with access to a well-known operator not currently within the area.

Beagle’s move and expansion is dependent on the money that would be generated from its sale to Morrisons. The sale cannot go ahead if the application is unsuccessful.

Morrisons have received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public. The majority, (91%) of respondents, said they supported the proposals and were happy to see the Stony Lane site redeveloped into a Morrisons.

Please do not sign this petition if you have already signed the paper petition.

3. We Want a Vegan Food Range in the Supermarket

There are now literally hundreds of thousands of vegans in the UK. What we want more than anything when it comes to our food is to be able to walk into the supermarket and pick our food off the shelf just like everyone else. Tesco provide a full and varied range of vegetarian alternatives including burgers, sausages, vege bacon and pies, yet ALL of these products contain milk and/or eggs, meaning the entire range in unsuitable for vegans.

If it costs an extra 20p per pack to make them vegan, we would pay it. If it costs an extra 50p per packet to have egg substitute rather than egg in the burgers, we would pay it.

I want to get as many signatures as possible to send to Tescos (I chose Tesco as they are the largest and most recogniseable supermarket chain in the UK) to show them there is great support for them to convert their vegetarian range to vegan and we will simply queue up at the frozen section to buy their vegan range if only they gave us the chance to do so.

4. Morrisons Reigate should relax evening parking restrictions

For years Morrisions supermarkets (previously Safeway) have allowed a "flexible" approach to the use of their store car park that adjoins Reigate High Street. While there has always been a 2 hour parking limit they have not enforced it hard.

From May 27th 2009 they have implemented a camera-based system that records numberplates and automatically tickets people who park for over 2 hours. Parking tickets are issued by post with a 40 to 70 pounds fine.

The key issue is that the parking limit is now enforced 24 hours per day 365 days per year.

We believe that this is unnecessarily restrictive. It will adversely affect local business in the evening (pubs, bars, restaurants, cinema), as well as penalising local residents. It is also in conflict with Morrison's own self- proclaimed social responsibility ethic of "being neighbourly"!

6. Stop Animal Cruelty at Morrisons Supermarket

March 28, 2006

Morrisons supermarket selling the cruel and inhumane 'little nipper' mouse trap.

These traps can catch larger rodents and birds causing an agonising slow
death, even mice which they are designed to kill can become trapped by a leg or the tail leading to a slow painful death, rats and mice have been known to twist and break free leaving a severed leg. Humane release traps are a humane alternative.

The buyer for the home and leisure department blatently refuses to stop selling them. Death to any animal should not be made as easy as it is to buy a packet of sweets from a supermarket shelf.

Please help stop them making this product readily available as a spur of the moment off the shelf purchase.

7. Extension to the number 28 School bus route

July 23, 2006

This petition is now closed.

September 22, 2005

The number 28 Route runs hourly between Morrisons, Evesham to Stratford-Upon-Avon Bridge Street. However on the school bus for this route which leaves Stratford at 4:00 terminates at Evesham Bus Station. The bus station is nothing more than 6 bus stops.

It would make great sense to continue on for the rest of the route, where the 28 would start as the normal 28 bus from Morrisons, Evehsam but instead it starts at Evesham Bus Station and is not a place where the buses are stored or kept.

I have seen at least 20 people who catch the bus from Morrisons, Evesham, and that was just in one day all getting on at the same time.
