1. Stand up for Life

A baby's growth In the first trimester that rules out just a bunch of cells.

In Exodus 20:13 it says: Thou shalt not kill. Many Christian's are pro-choice, but if they are believers of God and claim to follow God, than why do they not see this scripture? How to baby's somehow not apply? Also in Matthew 5:21: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgement:

In Psalms 139:13-16: For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skilfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

All scientist' and biologist' cannot correctly deny the fact that a baby is a living being at conception.

A baby is fully formed at 12 weeks, that's well before the end of the first trimester. So if a baby is conceived and alive at conception, then when tell me, is it still ok at 11 weeks?, 10 weeks? Does there come a time when it is not a living human being after conception? It may not be fully formed at that age, but it is still alive.

Q: At what point does it become wrong to intentionally destroy a developing human being?

A: Conception?

B: Implantation?

C: Heart beat?

D: Brain waves?

E: Capacity of pain?

F: Viability?

G: Birth?

H: Mobility?

In 2003 66% of Australian's thought abortion should be legal in the first trimester.

10% thought it should be legal in the third trimester.

Why the discrepancy?

Because a third trimester abortion kills a baby and a first trimester kills a bunch of cells.

Or does it?

A 9 week old foetus sucks its thumb and turns somersaults.

A 7 week embryo shows distinct limb movement.

A 6 week embryo has measurable brain impulses.

A 3 week embryo has a heart beat.

They may not look like a baby yet, but they look exactly as a human being should look 21 days after conception.

In the hours of conception every aspect of the genetic inheritance for a new individual will be determined once and for all.

So begins the first day of the first nine months of life.

At any stage of pregnancy, abortion kills a rapidly developing, genetically distinct, human being.

2. Port Richmond for Transforming Nativity School into Senior Living

Nativity B.V.M. school, located at the corners of Belgrade and Madison Streets in Port Richmond has been closed since 2008. In 2009, Catholic Health Care Services was allotted $11 million dollars for a proposed senior housing center.

Since that time, the abandoned school building has been broken into and vandalized 7 times. A few residents are standing in the way of affordable apartment living for seniors who are very attached to our community. This senior living complex would be in a convenient location that would provide the elderly of the neighborhood with a cost effective and practical way of life close to where they worked, raised their families, worship, socialize, shop, and live.

Many residents fear what will become of this building if a change does not occur soon. For one thing, the $11 million dollars might be taken away. Another thing is that in recent months, warehouse fires in Kensington have made people increasingly aware that building left unkept often fall prey to squatting/fires.

Lastly, it is making the neighborhood, which has done so much to keep Port Richmond, a hard working, positive place to live and raise families, appear unappealing and uncaring.

3. [h-E-L-P] Help-Eliminate-Living-Pedophiles

Because adults who sexually abuse children are repeat offenders, it makes sense not to allow them to be in close contact with children. Common sense tells us to keep these adults away from kids and out of our neighborhoods.

We must know where the sexual offenders are. They must be registered and followed closely. My heart goes out to the men and women who are sexually attracted to children. They must be protected from child pedophiles.

Banks, Petrol companies, Energy companies all register mass profit - why are they not being held accountable and we are? It cannot be ignored any more as soon this country's people will have no homes, no rights and no money as the greed of these establishments knows no bounds,

8. Petíció a zuglói légiforgalom ellen

10. Stop L.A. County Wild Animal Killing

I am blessed to live in a beautiful neighbourhood, a peninsula with a hill surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, lots of trees, many wild living animals, peacocks, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks of course and many more.

Two days ago I came home and noticed an Animal Control truck stopping behind my car in front of a neighbour’s home. The Animal Control officer took a cage and went into the home’s back yard. Shortly after he came back out with a little squirrel in the cage. Out of curiosity and because my inner voice told me to, I asked the officer, why he had the squirrel in the cage. This is what he told me:

The woman living on this property trapped the animal, because she was bothered by it. She then called Animal Control to send a truck for the pick up of this little critter. At this point I had to ask, what would happen to the squirrel now and was then told, that it would be brought to the Animal Control station to be put down.

I took a deep breath and asked if there was anything wrong with the squirrel, maybe it was sick or so. The officer then said, that there was nothing wrong with it, the woman just did not want the squirrel in her back yard and so, according to Los Angeles County policies, it had to be put down. I looked at the woman still waiting to see the animal go and she quickly closed her gate.

At this point I did what I had to do and started negotiating for the poor squirrel’s life. If this officer wouldn’t have released the squirrel in a park in the neighbourhood, I may have ended up in a straight jacket that evening. This lucky squirrel is still alive today but many other wild living animals, trapped by mean and selfish residents, who obviously still don’t understand the importance of a healthy ecosystem, are not anymore.

Thanks to the City of Palos Verdes, California, which allows residents to trap wild living animals. L.A. County offers support by renting traps to people for a fee, which also includes education and training on how to trap wild living animals properly. People then call Animal Control, they come, pick up, take along and kill.

A decision of the Board of Supervisors of L.A. County and the permission to trap make it possible.

We desperately try to save this planet and an ecosystem, which can collapse at any minute and this country fights the worst economy since the last depression.

And here Los Angeles County pays to kill wild animals that have done nothing wrong, not hurt anyone and are no danger to anybody - just because these animals are unfortunate to call their home some mean resident’s back yard, who has nothing better to do than to destroy our environment. Squirrels too are part of a sensitive ecosystem and so are raccoons, opossums, skunks, rattlesnakes, insects and many others.

California is bankrupt and our tax money is spent on Animal Control officers, having to go, get and kill. Did the L.A. Board of Supervisors get too much of the Californian sun before they came up with this?

I intend to fight this insanity, if you agree with me, please help and sign.

You can also help by investigating your own City/County’s policies to find out, if there are more such rules in other places. Together we can make a difference. It may take an effort and it may be inconvenient, but it is worth it. Not acting and accepting a madness like this is not an option for me. Hopefully it is not an option for you either.

Let’s get the ball rolling!

15. Emancipation In Ohio

"Ohio Emancipation of Minor Law

§2111.181: Settlement of claim of emancipated minor.

When personal injury, damage to tangible or intangible property, or damage or loss on account of personal injury or damage to tangible or intangible property is caused to a minor, who claims to be emancipated, by wrongful act, neglect, or default which would entitle the minor to maintain an action and recover damages for the injury, damage, or loss, and when any minor who claims to be emancipated is entitled to maintain an action for damages or any other relief based on any claim, or is subject to any claim to recover damages or any other relief based on any claim, the minor, who claims to be emancipated, may file an application in the probate court in the county where he then resides, praying for a finding by the court that the minor is in fact emancipated, and authorizing, approving, and consenting to the settlement of the claim by the minor without the appointment of a guardian.

Upon hearing on the application, after five days' written notice of the time and place of the hearing has been given to each of the living parents of the minor, whose name and address is known, provided the parent is free from disability other than minority, or, if there is no living parent, after such notice to the next of kin of the minor known to reside in the county, the court may find the minor to be emancipated and may authorize, approve, and consent to the settlement of the claim by the minor without the appointment of a guardian and may authorize the minor to receive and receipt for the settlement and, upon the minor executing and delivering a full and complete release for the injuries, damages, losses, or claims, may authorize the delivery and payment of such moneys to the minor, to a trustee or guardian of the estate of the minor appointed by the court for the benefit of the minor, or to a depository authorized to receive fiduciary funds to hold the moneys payable to the ward when he attains majority, or for the benefit of the minor, as the court may direct.

Upon the finding of the probate court that the minor was, at the time of the injury damage, loss, or claim, an emancipated minor, and provided the notice required by this section has been given to each living parent, whose name and address is known, then the release executed by the emancipated minor shall be a full and complete discharge and release of any claim which either or both of the parents might have by reason of the personal injury, damage to tangible or intangible property, damage or loss on account of personal injury, or damage to tangible or intangible property, or any other claim of the minor. 16. Lowering the Electric Bill at Sagewood Apartments

We, the residence of Sagewood Apartments at 10000 Rushing would like to see our electric bills lowered. All of our electic bills have tripled within the last 2 months. Many of us living here are on a fixed income and can not afford these outragious bills.

We have no free cable living here, most places furnish free cable. We don't need the place well lightened up, if we are going to have to pay for it. We just can not afford this hike in our electric bills. We will not be able to run the air conditioner in the summer with these prices. We need something done about this ASAP.

18. Flat-Rate Rent Increase Albany Housing Authority

July 28, 2006

Unfair Flat-Rate Rental Increases in Albany Housing Authority.

As you are aware, Albany Housing Authority has recently raised the flat rent rates by fifteen to twenty percent. For many households this will mean a rent increases between $52 and $143 per month.

The idea of living in Public Housing for many families means a sense of security while providing us with the ability to manage better financially.

If we are forced to pay this amount, our families will either have to move and search for housing that is less expensive. This can mean living in conditions that are below standard or remaining in Public Housing and simply having to sacrifice our basic needs such as food, clothing and healthcare.

There has also been a decrease in maintenance workers, and the tenants that have been seeking improvements in their buildings are being overlooked. All this needs to be taken into consideration before agreeing to any increase in our rents.

19. Oppose NI Detention Centre

May 19, 2006

No to immigration snatch squad -
These detention centres are effectively the same as prisons.

It is inconceivable that at the same time that human rights advocates and campaigners are calling for them to be shut down in England and Scotland, that there are plans to establish one here.

The centre will lead to the criminalising of the immigrant community living here.

At a time when racist attacks are spiralling out of control this will contribute to fuelling racist attacks. We are further opposed to the plans for a special immigration squad who will carry out raids on workplaces to try to identify undocumented workers. This will breed the idea that the majority of overseas workers are here unlawfully when that is not the position.

There is a tiny number of asylum seekers and undocumented immigrants living here and there is no justification for having either a detention centre or a special immigration squad.

The current plans should be scrapped and the available resources used to tackle the real problems of race hate crimes.

20. Petition for clean air: Laredo District 3

March 25, 2006

On or about the year 2004, The City of Laredo purchased certain property located within the confines of the City of Laredo District 3.

Specifically, the property, purchased from the Slaughter family, and commonly referred to as the "Slaughter Farm or Ranch" takes up a number of acres bordering Chacon Street to the North and Stone Street to its East.(may also include other streets)

During the negotiations of the City's purchase of the land, the Citizens of District 3 understood that the property would serve as a recreation area, including park and sports facilites.

However, since the City has taken control of this land, they have stripped the land of all grass, shrubs and other protectants from the southeast winds coming into District 3. As a result, the citizens of District 3 have faced a nuisance that is directly affecting their neighborhood living. For instance, the Citizens of District 3 have:

-constant dust and dirt being blown and penetrated into their homes, automobiles and other personal belongings;

-been unable to enjoy numerous outdoor activities as they did in the past; and more importantly,

-been forced to breath the dust and dirt that may contain contaminated and hazardous particles, including pesticides and fertilizers from the many years the land was farmed.

The air being breathed by the Citizens of District 3 is not clean and they demand that remedial measures be taken immediately.

21. Demolition or Man made Sunami

February 08, 2006

I belong to a very beautiful place kashmir. As is known to you the place is worth seeing because of its beauty & Nature.

Since childhood i saw myself living in a very simple enviroment. We were bestowed by god with everything House Land, business. Suddenly we had to leave our Priceland because of Militancy. What we couldn't have imagined was now a reality.

Several days we spend on road, Park & then in temple before we started again looking for new life from Zero. Since 1990 to 2003 we were living very modest life dependent on our landlords. Now that we tried a little to have our own place & give our parents moment to cherish. I own a flat being Loaned by Bank. I invested all my savings into it. I don't understand why again i have to pay for the System that delhi never has.

We did all legal documents before we took possition. Now in recent times i noticed my flat in demolition drive. How can a Tsunami strike again for me. Can a govt speak about:
1 why buider is allowed to build & sell such flat if they are unauthorized.
2 Why MCD didn't Destroy them on time.
3 Why Bank paid loan for such flats.
4 Why Court gives stamp paper for registration.
5 What measures are being taken to educate people from all this who are measure suffers.

For all this you won't find any answer because there has never been any system. Then could you tell me why we are being faced with such a catastrophe for being Indian?

22. Removal of No Parking Signs on Woodhaven

January 26, 2006

This petition is here to remove the no parking signs on Woodhaven Circle.

The reason for this petition is in response to the amount of parking currently available. There is hardly a sufficient amount of parking spaces for the number of tenants that reside in the Jacob Heights Townhouse Development. This parking issue causes a number of problems for the tenants that live in the Jacob Heights Townhouses along with residents of Mankato that don't live there.

The first problem created from these no parking signs is resident parking. The problem arises due to the fact that there are four tenants living in each unit in Jacob Heights. There is no possible parking configuration utilizing the garage and driveway that will allow any single tenant to leave at anytime. This is the first reason why parking on Woodhaven is requested. A lot of the residents living here are college students.

Everyone has busy class and work schedules and being blocked in your driveway by a roommate not home is not a valid excuse for a professor or employer. The second major problem created from the no parking signs on Woodhaven is in regards to visitors and guests. If all tenants are home there are no available parking spots nearby for guests. This makes is very difficult to meet with friends, family, coworkers, and classmates in the Jacob Heights Development.

There are currently 42 units in the Jacob Heights Townhouse Development. There is also an additional 24 units under construction. This means that the current problem is only going to get worse unless the city of Mankato does something about it. Enclosed is a list of Mankato residents who all agree with the complaints stated above. The residents of Mankato demand action. There are obviously plenty of solutions to the current dilemma.

If authorized parking signs are required for the public street of Woodhaven Circle then possibly permit only signs could replace the no parking signs. Another solution is to build another public parking lot across from the Jacob Heights Townhouses.

23. London. Truth about TBC breakdown.

January 20, 2006

Startling revelations are surfacing in the "breaks in" news of the TBC radio.
We, a group of failed asylum seekers are living in the UK with fear of arrest and deportation to Sri Lanka at any time.

Mr.Ramraj assured us to obtain visas illegally using his association with the MP for Harrow west, Mr.Garath Thomas and the Councillor, Harrow Mr.Thaya Idaikadar.

In fear of returning to Sri Lanka, three of us barrowed from friends and paid him £5000 each in order to get the visa. However he could not help us in regularising our status as mentioned.

Therefore we asked him to refund the money. He started to threaten us to inform the Enforcement officials of the UK Immigration Service about our status in this country. He further said that we were from the LTTE and will inform to the UK Police that we were threatening him.

Despite this threat, we continued to pressurise him to get the money back. Then recently he asked us to wait in the midnight of 22nd of May 2005 in front of Domino Pizza, in Rayners Lane area. When we went there, he asked us to follow him. We went near a parked car (Metallic Green, R4 JRT) in the Warden Avenue. Then he gave us electronic equipments of possibly radio station and said that get your money from selling those equipments.

The Other day we heard the news that the TBC Radio Station was broken in. Later we got to know that he made a complaint at the Harrow Police Station that the LTTE suspects broke in his radio station.

In another interesting thing that the same Mr.Ramraj, one day had given money to one of another friends of us to buy a pay as you go sim card. Then Mr.Ramraj asked him to call to his Radio Station as well as to his mobile number using a phone with the same sim card frequently. Our friend was not aware as to why Mr.Ramraj asked him to do so.

Now we understand that the purpose of this is to manipulate and complain to the Police about the LTTE threat and to claim insurance falsely. In the recent news in his www.nitharsanam.net, www.vizhippu.net , the same phone number has been mentioned in relation to the "LTTE threat story".

We also learnt that he had a history of cheating the Insurance companies in the year of 2001 and 2003 respectively.

If the UK Immigration Service and the Police can give us guarantee not to remove us from the UK, we are happy to assist the Police or the relevant officials in this regard.

24. Controlling pests in Community - Arbuta Arms Apartments

Arbuta Arms Apartments have a pest control issue, which has not been addressed properly in the last three years or so.

We are aware that you, Arbuta Arms, have a contract with a Pest Control Company, which comes two to three times a month exterminating the premises. However, it does not help rid our apartments of mice. A few of the tenants have invested in a cat, to help keep our apartments in safe and healthy living conditions.

Of course, you aware of the diseases and germs manifested by mice and other rodents, that are quite often seen in our apartments, especially during fall and winter months. The tenants of Arbuta Arms are suggesting that we have the opportunity, choice or better terminology, the right to have a cat in our home to keep these pests away.

We are fully aware of the lease and its prohibition to have pets, but it also says, "Without a consent of an Agent." But you must understand our concerns and how disgusted many of us are with these living conditions.

Having pests in our homes violates the Health and Safety laws and we, the tenants should have the right to rid our homes from pest in any way we see fit as so long it does not harm or hinder our neighbors.

29. Food Stamps For College Students

According to a Marketing profile on the Eastern College Athletic Conference, (http://www.ecac.org/Marketing/College_Market_Demographic_Profile.pdf) Most college students live away from home, and of those who are employed, (66%) most only work part time. [There were no explicit figures available on average college student income, however I believe it is common knowledge that part-time wages are quite low.]

In her article: "College tuition rising faster than the average income", USA Today writer Mary Beth Marklein notes that college tuition rates increased 107% from 1980 to 2002. This increase makes affording food a challenge for college students.

But the real problem is not being able to afford healthy food. According to Ted W. Grace of the Journal of American College Health in his article: "Health Problems of College Students", students' eating habits get much worse in the college years, where students often turn to the convenient, cheap, fast food industry to sustain them.

One February 25, 2004 article of The Daily Orange (the school newspaper of Syracuse University) tells of the growing trend of students who desire to eat healthy but find themselves only able to afford unhealthy fast food items.

Providing food stamps to college students who meet the requirements I listed would be a step in the right direction for our nations future. The college years are the time in the lives of young Americans where they make formative habits that stick with them for the rest of their lives. If students are forced into the habit of poor eating choices due to financial constraints, then they will continue with those habits, and the health of this nation will continue to deteriorate in a very negative way. However, having a steady source of food would set many students at ease, knowing that expenses such as rent and tuition can be prioritized on their personal budgets, without having to sacrifice good eating.

Thank you for your consideration,
-Thomas K.
