31. Keep The Society Hill II Bus Route
The Society Hill II Association and some residents (2) took a vote on whether or not to keep the current bus route that runs through our community and voted to stop the bus from coming through the community.
The new bus stop will be located across route 440 where the bus depot is curently located. The problem is that there was no posted notice of the upcoming vote and many residents did not know about the upcoming issue therefore not allowing them to vote.
32. Rights for Sex Abuse Survivors First!
I vote that the rights of survivors of child sexual abuse are not being put first and should be. It takes an enormous amount of personal fortitude to even open up and say "I have been abused". Thus, it should be no issue that when a survivor addresses the issue with the police or authority concerned that in all cases the survivor should be treated seriously, with respect and dignity and their concerns should be invesitigated without fail.
Survivors are put off by a system that does not care, causing a life of stress and a cost to the economy. Equally importantly, the pedophile is allowed to roam free to attack other children. We can prevent these situations, and should. If you agree, vote now.
On November 14, 2004 a vote was held among the members of Tau Lambda Sigma. They voted not to have recruitment with a vote of 15 against 14. Two-thirds of the sorority was present, but did not vote. Some members were unsure of which way to vote and did not vote at all.
With the uncertainty and concern presented at the meeting that occurred on November 18, 2004 it has been proposed to reconsider the issue of recruitment and to revote with more informed members.
I have lobbied for about 4 years now on this issue. I disagree strongly about gay marriages because in my life I have seen 32 gay marriages in which 29 of them broke up in 2 years, leaving scars. I also think it is personally wrong.
35. Save the Abandoned Mine Land Act
Sept. 30 could be the beginning of economic doom for our coal producing states if Congress does not take action to extend a federal program that mining reclamation supports 45,000 retired miners benefits.
The Abandoned Mine Land, or AML, is a program created in 1977, when it passed the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act.
Under the program, coal operators pay 35 cents tax per ton of surface-mined coal and 15 cents per ton of underground-mined coal. The money is used to clean up coal mines that were abandoned before 1977.
If that happens, thousands of abandoned mine sites mostly in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Kentucky would go unreclaimed.
Currently the AML is languishing on capital hill and set to expire at the end of September
Without congressional action, the coal tax that funds mine cleanups would expire Sept. 30.
As a result, more than $2 billion worth of high-priority coal reclamation will remain unreclaimed, leaving millions of people who live, work and recreate in the nation's coalfields to continue to be exposed to the many dangers these areas represent.
Tax payers of coal producing states could be forced to pay for the clean-up, instead of the coal operators. The state is already in a budget crisis and paying for this would sink the Bluegrass in to a much deeper deficit - one that potentially we would never find our way out of.
Lawmakers and Interior's Office of Surface Mining have showed great humanitarianism by allowing AML money to fund infrastructure projects like health-care benefits (UMWA Orphan Funds) for retired miners who have fallen between the cracks by coal corporation bankruptcies.
On Aug. 31 in Lexington, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge William Howard finalized the decision allowing Horizon Natural Resources to file bankruptcy, thus voiding union contracts providing health care coverage for nearly 3,000 employees, including 2,300 retirees -- many of whom suffer from black lung as a result of their working years at Horizon. Many of these affected by the decision are Kentuckians who's only hope for health care is for the AML to continue.
Cutting off the health care benefits provided by the tax could not only devastate thousands of retired coal miners lives, but also be detrimental to the state's local economies who's doctors and pharmacies main source of income is treatment of these miners.
Congress Sen. Robert C. Byrd, D-W.Va., with support of House Democrats, took the first step Sept. 14 to stave off the end of the federal program. Sen. Byrd won Senate Appropriations Committee approval to extend a tax that funds the cleanup program for another nine months, but so far no outward support has been shown by House Republicans to save the issue.
The current extension calls for 9 months, but House Republicans have agreed to this measure by cutting the tax 75% - a drastic reduction in the amount of money to fund the miners health care plans and for money to repair the environmental damage done by the coal operators.
The far reaching effects of letting the AML languish and die could spell disaster for the all coal producing states if an extension is not granted.
I will use this issue to evaluate your commitment to working families in America. I await your prompt response.
36. To vacate the alley at sec 33, block 16 of the original platt of Ontario
The petition to be considered is to vacate an ally way at said location. The ally borders the property of Todd and Christine Ferguson, Jeff Mobley and Basil Wallace. The ally runs east and west through the center of said block. This ally is now and has been unusable due to a pole barn built on property that Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson recently purchased.
Closing this ally was never an issue because all owners knew that it was unusable. Now we all would like to improve and modify our property, now it is an issue that needs to be resolved.
37. Disagreeing With New Dress Code of the Anaheim Union High School District
As a resident in Southern California, sandles have been a part of every day life since I was a young child and now they are trying to take that away. Sandles are a convenient way for comfortablity and style. They allow our feet to "breathe" and in several other ways keep us comfortable. But, now because of our schools new renovations, our administration feels the need to take away that comfortability for safety.
Safety is a big issue in society today and from our prinicipals point of view, she wants to make her students as safe as they can be, this is understandable. However, if she wants us to be safe, cut down the fighting or lock our campus up, but do not take away the students personal expression and comfortability. It is understood that with the construction taking place on our campus, sandles may be a safety hazard. But, we are not walking around over open trenches or boxes of nails, all the dangerous places are blocked off by fences or caution tape. Another problem the principal sees with sandles are the opened toes, causing toes to be stepped on or stubbed. But, people see these problems before they leave the house wearing sandles, they know of the risks they are taking.
Football players are constantly breaking bones, spraining ankles, or physically injuring theirselves in other ways but, do we see the principal taking away their ability to tackle and play the sport they love? No, we do not, so why should the students of Kennedy High school have to stop wearing the shoes they feel comfortable in, due to a few minor injuries? We allow athletes to play the sports they play with the knowledge that they may be hurt, but we do not allow students to wear sandles because of a safety issue, it is very hypocritical.
The fact of the matter is that we as people are going to get hurt no matter what way or where, it is going to happen, its just a factor of life. But, do we see kids walking around with helmets and safety pads everywhere they go? No, because we cannot constantly be afraid of being injured or unsafe, we have to live life and roll with the punches.
38. ABOLISH OUTSOURCING OF AMERICAN JOBS
Excerpted References: NYTimes.com Articles:
Op-Ed Columnist: Education Is No Protection on January 26, 2004 By BOB HERBERT:
"...The main objections came from a handful of protesters who stood outside in a brutally cold wind waving signs that said things like "Stop Sending Jobs Overseas" and "Put America Back to Work." No one paid them much attention.
The conference was titled "Offshore Outsourcing: Making the Journey Work for Your Corporation." Its goal was to bring executives up to speed on the hot new thing in corporate America, the shipment of higher-paying white-collar jobs to countries with eager, well-educated and much lower-paid workers.
... He said his firm had helped clients ship about a billion dollars' worth of projects offshore last year....
...You want a national security issue? Trust me, this threat to the long-term U.S. economy is a big one. Why it's not a thunderous issue in the presidential campaign is beyond me....
...We can grapple with this problem now, and try to develop workable solutions. Or we can ignore this fire in the basement of the national economy until it rages out of our control...."

on March 6, 2004 By LOUIS UCHITELLE:
"By almost every measure, the economy has been expanding at a healthy pace for six months. But the nation's employers remain stubbornly reluctant to add jobs in the United States.
Outsourcing abroad, particularly the shifting of work to China and India, so much in the news, is one reason hiring at home has been sparse...."
The following are general observations:
Our higher "cost to live" in America (versus those in most other countries)
is a "given burden" (for both natural born and those who acquire citizenship)
to live in America. It must certainly follow then that all working Americans
to have equivalent purchasing capability with citizens of other countries must be paid higher salaries. Other related topics needed for scrutiny are:
What is the tax loss to the U.S. on jobs given to foreign Nationals?
Who of the unemployed are not figured into the Labor Dept. unemployment
statistics.

This endangerment has been a result of OVERDEVELOPMENT OF THE TOURIST INDUSTRY which is now crowding these animals out of their own environment.
This situation is Not just an "Australian issue." It is a WORLDWIDE ENVIRONMENTAL AND ANIMAL RIGHTS ISSUE, and it is in desperate need of the assistance all Animal Rights and Environmental organizations in existence worldwide.
Please assist by signing the petition and let's unite as one unit to save these beautiful creatures from needless destruction that is of Man's own making~ NOT THEIRS !!

40. No Fare increases for Castlebar Taxi Drivers
We the undersigned ask that the Castlebar Urban District Council to forgo any fare increase to Castlebar Taxi Drivers until they demonstrate their ability to uphold the law i.e consisently issue receipts and turn meters on.
41. Stop The Production of Child Labour Made Products
We would like to boycott products made from child labour in stopping the production of these products, such as soccer balls or carpets. We would like factory owners realize how important this issue really is and the danger of having child work. We feel that by doing so, we will be one step closer to eliminating child labour around the world.
42. Stop Callin Bryan McFadden Fat
For numerous times The Sun called Bryan McFadden fat and told people he should lose weight. Almost in every issue is one rticle or more saying he should lose weight or that he's fat.
Bryan McFadden isn't fat and it really hurts him, Kerry and also us.
We as fans are sick of it.
43. Springfield Twnsp. Zoning Change
This petition is to let the community of Springfield Twnsp. speak their part on a zoning change, which many people do not know about.
This petition is to let you, the community, know about a zoning change that may take place. It will also allow you to express your feelings on the issue. For those of you who do not wish this change to take place please sign. Thank you for your time.
44. Lower the drinking age in the United States
Time and Time again, there are always debates about people being a certain age to carry on in certain activities. One activity that has had the most debate is the legal drinking age in the United States of America. Between the 60's and 70's when America was at war, this issue came about. It came about because at this time, the Governent decided that 18 was the legal age to vote and make educated decisions about people's political future, as well as fighting in wars. Since the question "I am at a legal age to vote and protect my country, why can't I drink?" came about, the Government decided to lower the drinking age to 19.
Over the years, there have been many irresponsible acts of binge drinking, and drunk driving done by many young people, this is in turn enticed the Government to raise the age to 21. I'm petitioning this issue because I feel that it would be fair for people 18, who are considered adults, and over to be able to have access to alcoholic beverages. There are many places in the world like Jamaica, and China who don't have a legal drinking age, and they don't seem to have a predominace of issues like drunk driving etc. I feel that it would be beneficial socially if people who are 18 are allowed to drink.
Safe Haven Laws were enacted to stop parents who have concealed their pregnancies from giving birth alone and from discarding the newborn in a dumpster or other dangerous place. There are many names for Safe Haven including Safe Place, Baby Moses Law, Safe Arms for Newborns, Safe Delivery, etc. The children who are abandoned have no way of learning their history when the parent drops them off as they are not required to leave their name or history. If you agree or disagree with this law, leave your name and comments on this difficult issue.
46. Add Community Drive to bus route
We want the school bus to come down our road to pick up our children. It is a safety issue because the current bus stop is on a busy road and out of sight from parent's homes. There are several small children who ride this bus.
47. Say "No" to Group homes kept 500 ft from any single home
SB 178, sponsored by Senator Cowin sponsers an amendment to Chapter 419, F.S., to prohibit a group home of 6 or fewer residents from being within 500 feet of another single family home (i.e. a non-group home). This bill alienates individuals with disabilities from participating and living in the community of their choice as well as ignoring the progress that has been made to include persons with disabilities in their community. The public policy implications of this legislation are distincly contrary from the current goals and objectives of this organization, as well as our state and federal governments' on housing options for persons with developmental disabilities.
The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council officially opposes the language and intent of SB 178. Council staff has met with Senator Cowin and will continue to discuss the issue with her andn other members of the Legislature.
Currently, the bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning, Children and Families; Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services; and Appropriations.
It is important for the disability community to share their opinions and concerns with Senator Cowin. In addition, please make your legislators aware of this issue and your reasons for oppostion.
48. Stop Disguise.com From Spreading Racism
We, the undersigned, are shocked and disgusted by the sheer audacity of manufacturer Disguise in releasing their new "Kung-Fool" costume for Halloween.
The costume consists of a black and white (Japanese) kimono, belt, vinyl half-cap, and rubber mask -- a buck-toothed, squinty-eyed caricature donning a headband with the Chinese character for "loser" inscribed. Until yesterday, the company's website ran the following description for the costume: Hiiiiiiiyaaaaa! Become a master of martial arts over night, or
well
maybe not, but have fun wearing the Disguise Kung Fool costume!
Certainly, this type of overt racism, passed off half-heartingly as "humor," is familiar to many Asians. Six months ago, clothing manufacturer Abercrombie and Fitch tried to push their "Wong Brothers Laundry Service" onto young adults and teens, claiming the shirts were "cheeky, irreverent, funny." Unfortunately, they actively chose to overlook that such depictions are blantantly offensive to many who've had to endure them, and indeed, have been used consistently and historically to marginalize an entire community.
More insidious this time, however, is the current attempt to perpetuate racist thought amongst children. While many of Disguise's costumes offer model cartoon heros, fictional characters and even infamous celebrities, no other costume singles out for ridicule a community like "Kung-Fool."
Therefore, we have formed this petition to articulate our growing frustration and impatience with corporate America's persistence in capitalizing on racism; to communicate unequivocally that Asian customers will not tolerate the spread of intolerant thought to children; and finally, to demand that Disguise issue an official apology and remove the Kung-Fool costume immediately from it's 20,000 retailers nationwide.
49. Boycott Against All Abortion-Permissive Political Parties
Abortion is the greatest horror ever seen by humanity. If we care about God, humanity, or even ourselves we must work to stop it. The means are readily available and very easy. No one needs to “lift a finger”, spend a dollar, or suffer in any way to help these innocents. All that is required is for us to do, assuming that we continue to vote, is decide that we will never again vote for abortion.
The scale of the carnage certainly screams out for action, at least to those who have a conscience to hear it. Consider this: 3,025 people died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust. 15 million people (troops + civilians) died in the First World War, and 50 million died in the Second World War (over six years).
Abortion, however, kills 46 million people every single year, making it the greatest slaughter of humans ever known on earth. And unlike the other horror mentioned, mass voluntary abortion is not merely historical, but, as of the time of this writing, is still heavily ongoing today. Unlike the other horrors, there are still relatively few people working to stop the legality of elective abortions.
We, as living humans, also “continue” today. This is our issue, our time, and our responsibility. We often wonder how peoples of the past stood by and did nothing while Christians were thrown to lions, slaves were traded, Jews were lethally gassed, and Rwandans were massacred. Similarly the Angels must wonder at us over this issue of abortion: they witness that we were all fetuses once, yet we would deny the humanity of fetuses, or that they deserve rights; we stand around while they are butchered in ways so cruel it would be certainly be illegal if it was done to animals.
We also have the advantage of learning from the other horrors of history; this is all the more reason why we have an urgent responsibility to stop this one. We cannot turn a blind eye and be guiltless. Nor is it easy to say we did much good with our lives if we ignore this issue.
It is a murder so horrible. The developing baby has only its mother and the Law to protect it, but neither are doing that. It has no weapons, no chance of escape, no one to appeal to for help, and no one to defend it when it is being ripped apart. It dies never having known any love.
The mothers actually bring their own babies in, voluntarily, to be killed! Therefore besides being execution of innocent people, abortion is an absolute betrayal of the sacred mother-child bond which is seen throughout Creation. It is perhaps the most evil thing a person could possibly do, yet it is perfectly legal and proudly defended in our politics today!
There is great power in the vote, and many lives were sacrificed so that we could have this right. But it is a power often misused by the common people, who seem to rarely vote according to their beliefs, and then wonder why the country is out of step with their beliefs. Even worse, many do not feel any personal responsibility for their vote, evidenced by the fact that many voters do not even vote at all (see http://www.idea.int/vt/survey/voter_turnout_pop2.cfm; eg. only 48% voter turnout in the USA).
Unfortunately those who do act to criminalize abortion have long been duped into voting for political parties which vaguely hint that they are against abortion, but which actually do nothing to stop it when they are in power. It is a situation where we are lead to feel like we are accomplishing something, but nothing good actually gets accomplished.
No more! We of conscience must make it our primary issue when we give any political support. Under no circumstances will we any more support any political party which refuses to criminalize elective abortion, or which even hesitates to do so. We will not be content with “baby steps” that actually go nowhere. We will no longer be toyed with. This is an urgent and terrible issue!
We will not abandon the voting booth; our vote and chance will not be wasted. We will not surrender, but act. We will find and support somebody else, even if we have to resort to minor political parties not normally mentioned in the news. We will, at the same time, voice our displeasure so that no one has to guess at the reason for it. Then the message will be clear and we will have made a real difference.
This is a boycott; a very powerful political tool that would stop abortion as soon as it starts in almost every nation of the world. After all, there are few nations in the world not vastly (eg. 85%) dominated by some combination of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists. Abortion is fundamentally against all of these religions. If even a quarter of them would boycott parties which allow abortion to be legal, the political force would be so great as to stop abortion before the next election. Wherever there are people who have a heart and a conscience, there is a way to stop this horror.
But we do not refuse to vote against abortion only for the sake of the unborn. There are so many other important reasons. For one thing, do you really want people who have no regard for innocent human life ruling over you? That's what happens when you vote-in abortion-loving political parties. Imagine what other atrocities such people are capable of! Under their rule, who can be safe? There is also the issue of our eternity to consider: our Judgment before God, and the eternal record of the right or wrong we did or failed to do. Do we want to die having done nothing about this issue? It would be like living in Europe in World War II and deciding to “go along with” the Nazis and their arrest and murder of Jewish people. Would that have been something to be proud of? Are you “going along with” abortion? Is that what you want your life to be like? You don't have to be a mediocre person. You have a choice and a chance to make a difference, and be someone who has real values and acts on them.
Social change it not hard to achieve; it only needs people to take an interest. As you go through your day, and all the things you care about, and all the things on the news, ask yourself how many of them are more important and urgent than the issue of abortion. You will quickly see that society is distracted from the things that are most important.
You do not have to answer for society, but you will eventually have to answer for yourself. Abortion is an atrocity of historical proportions and historical responsibility, whether that is realized today or not. You have to decide whether you want your name recorded in eternity as someone who was part of it, someone who didn't care, or someone who stood against it.
May God the Creator richly Bless all those who sign, implement, and propagate this boycott. Furthermore, may the names signed on this petition be an eternal testament of their innocence of the blood of the unborn.
50. Citizens Against Audio Trespass in the USA
This petition is to urge Congress to pass tougher laws regarding the sale, distribution, and use of high decibel amplifiers, linears, speakers, et al. The issue of "boomcars" and decibel drag racing should be a growing concern for every community in the United States.
51. Discloser Project Contact List
Hello Everyone,
I have just sent 30 + e-mails to most major media contacts regarding the Disclosure Project and Lara Johnstone. Below you will find a copy of my letter.
If you would like to e-mail these 30+ contacts, please e-mail me at: Monispy@aol.com to have me fax you all of the addresses. Also, if you are not much of a writer, please feel free to use my letter as your own. I will get back to you ASAP if you would like these addresses!

To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to draw your attention to an extremely important situation that is occurring in America at this time. Please, read what I have to say...
On May 9, 2001 at 9:00 a.m., Dr. Steven Greer founder and director of the Disclosure Project, along with over 20 military, government, and corporate witnesses to unambiguous UFO and extraterrestrial events, held a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC. 250,000 people were waiting online for the press conference to begin. Because of this, the first hour of the conference was "electronically jammed".
It is obvious to me that people all around the world are extremely interested in this topic. I do believe that the testimony these witnesses are prepared to make, given Congressional support, will greatly improve our quality of life, the environment, and much more. I must ask you, with the abundance of interest in this organization, when will you report on the issue? Make no mistake, the American people are listening and do demand more information.
I would like to begin by telling you more about Dr. Steven Greer and the Disclosure Project. However, I must start with the most pressing issue currently taking place. Lara Johnstone from California is a very courageous woman that is taking steps in helping to bring about the disclosure of the extraterrestrial presence on and around Earth. She wrote a letter to President Bush on July 26, 2001. After this letter, on July 28, 2001 she began a hunger strike "to death if need be" in order to stress her support and demand of the following:
1)Open, comprehensive, secrecy-free hearings to take miliartary/agency witness testimony on events and evidence relating to an Extraterrestrial presence on and around Earth.
2)To hold open hearings on advanced energy and propulsion systems, relating to extraterrestrial phenomena that, when publicly released, will provide solutions to global environmental challenges.
Lara Johnstone is not the first to write this letter and she is far from the last. Thousands upon thousands of letters have poured into Congressmen, Senators, and President Bush's office since May 9th.
She is, however, the first to take such dramatic stances to the issue. However, many people argue that she is doing what they too would do, if they were half as courageous. She plans to visit the White House immediately and she has been contacted by several media members which you can view by going to her web site at: www.amandla.org/ufo/.
Since May 9, 2001 the Disclosure Project, over 20 witnesses, and Dr. Steven Greer have been traveling from city to city across the United States to ask their fellow Americans to send letters to their local representatives, Congressmen, and President George W. Bush. You can view the letters at:
www.dislcosureproject.org. You may also view, at that address, responses from political leaders as well as George W. Bush.
Dr. Steven Greer has met with and provided briefings on the Et/UFO subject for senior members of government and for military and intelligence operations in the United States and around the world, including senior CIA officials, Joint Chiefs of taff, White House staff, senior members of Congress and congressional committees, senior United Nations leadership and diplomats, senior military officials in the UK and Europe. Dr Steven Greer and the Disclosure Project have been able to identify, contact, and videotape interviews with nearly 100 military, intelligence, and government witnesses
to UFO events and projects. These interviews and accompanying evidence are definitive and will establish the reality of the ET/UFO subject as well as the nature and purpose of the secrecy surrounding it. For more information and to view a fragment of military, government, and corporate witness statements, please visit: www.disclosureproject.org.
I hope that you will soon be researching the information that I have given you and soon be interviewing Dr. Steven Greer and/or Lara Johnstone. As I stated before, obviously the interest on this topic reaches further than just our city, state, or country. The interest in this topic spans the world over.
Thank you for your time, I will be waiting for your decision.

(As of 8/28/01 the hunger strike is in it's 28th day)
52. Support HB31
Please support HB31, the bill that supports the future of our community and our students' education. "HB31 increases state funding of basic and per pupil entitlements 4/7% or $66.7 million over the biennium." (MEA Bulletin, Vol. 7, Issue 7 2/23/01) Show that we care about the future of Montanans!!! Education needs a lap dog, too!
