Telecommunication providers in Singapore have failed to comply with the telecommunications QoS standards regulated by IDA from time to time.

Telecommunication providers should not only just be responsible for internet communications, but also telecommunications which consumers been paying the monthly bills. However the matter of fact, consumers have not been receiving the expected level of service standards as according.

It is evident that there have been numerous incidents of non-compliance or service disruptions across all the major telecommunication providers which have caused consumers to be greatly affected due to the reliance on these service providers.

As far as telecommunication providers try to mask their shortcomings, through many engagements between representatives and its consumers, there were many lies which were gradually unfolded to the consumers have greatly impacted the company itself to its dishonesty and integrity of business ethnics.

This petition is written in context to Singapore Telecommunications Limited, SingTel. It is evident that SingTel has not been honest to its consumers with its products and services. Individual Customer Service Officer would deliver not only standard FAQ answers to its customers, also at the same time, very deliberately a lack of knowledge on SingTel's products and services; in turn have caused great amount of confusion to its customers at stake.

Not only should Customer Service Officers be aware of customer recovery; the telecommunication provider have failed to provide a satisfactory service to its customers. Services that ranged from mioTV, Internet (ADSL, Fiber Optic), Mobile Network (3G, 4G), as well as other products and services under SingTel.

Firstly, there have been many cases where SingTel mioTV's performance has not been up to standard. Regular pauses of imagery, slight distortions, pixelized imagery, freezes, downtimes, as well as the recent disruptions that caused an uproar, are not part of the deal with what consumers subscribed for.

Secondly, SingTel's Internet Service performances of its unreliability. Internet, one of the most important technology we can't live without, where communication begins with the internet.

However, with SingTel's ADSL or even Fiber Optic subscription plans, it seems otherwise. Internet disruptions and downtimes are very common. Besides that, it is evident that its products supporting the internet communication have failed regularly, hence, the cause of intermittent connections to the internet. It is evident even through a simple streaming of videos online would jam for a while due to buffering. Many technical employees and employees of SingTel would constantly sell customers lies to buy regarding the background of Fiber Optic to cover most of their shortcomings. Is that what really happen to your loading time even with Fiber Optic Subscription?

Furthermore, it is clear that with Fiber Optic, transmission via light, there should be lesser issues compared to ADSL. However, these were nothing but rumours. Even with Fiber Optic subscription, streaming of videos do factor in buffering time, page would stop loading all of a sudden, the unavailability of web pages, yet the same time the ability to troubleshoot a ping to its Residential Gateway. These common issues among its customers are more than evident its poor services.

Lastly, the mobile network performance of its unreliability. Mobile phone is the basic to communication we all are using in this era of technology. Without communication, information would not have been successfully been relayed.

However, SingTel's infrastructure to its mobile network have regularly failed its customers both incoming and outgoing calls. In both scenarios where a customer is making an outgoing call or receiving an incoming call, the probability of a call failure is high with SingTel.

SingTel claims that the causes are due to the mobile phone, its connectivity to its broadcast towers, and other unknown factors which also have been proven otherwise. Furthermore, consumers faced common issues with its 3G network at various locations, and worst, in times of emergency, its users are unable to establish a call out for help with SingTel's poor infrastructure and connectivity islandwide.

The above statements are collectively the feedbacks, comments and voices, of SingTel customers where services are not up to standards the amount billed monthly. If Singapore preaches about being a "World-Class Service" to its customers, then this should be the first to be rectified serving its citizens with "World-Class Service" not just to our tourists.

It is clear that these has caused SingTel to fall into breach of any service industry best practice on communications with customers.

"God hates Goths" may well be a joke site, but there is still some risk of someone taking it seriously and/or using those sorts of hate language when around the people whom it could offend.

There is a disclaimer about how it is a satire at one place in the site, but I think that they should really put a disclaimer of some sort on every page, ideally at the top of every page. That way, anyone who happens to get on to any of its pages will know that this is a satirical joke and they should not take it seriously.

Goths are not always evil; it's just that they have a bad name. I have met at least one of them in my life. Nighttime is not always bad. Remember, Jesus was born in the night. Women DO have souls. Nowhere in the Bible does it actually say that they don't, and they are God's people, too. "He made them all, both male and female". Look at all of the great, charitable and helpful people in history that were women.

Please remember that, if God does exist (which I believe He does), He is probably a god of love, not hate. Although God may hate some actions/thoughts, such as those of homosexuals, it is not all that likely that He actually hates the people themselves.

The idea is to reset the internet network and clean it from all existing information.

A new boot sequence would be added with a unique ID creation: it would require an ID card number or passport number to avoid multi-accounts for the same person.

Short-term benefits;

The elimination of fake IDs would make the internet a safer place both for the world economy (safer transactions) as well as for national security (world-wide).

The risk of misinformation would become lower since people would be responsible for what they write/say/do.

Long-term benefits;

Increase in online sales as a consequence of the built-in higher security levels would boost the world economy.

AT&T has decided to violate the U.S. Internet rules by limiting use of Apple Inc's FaceTime application to certain customers.

Other known public interest groups have filed complaints with the FCC about this (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/18/us-att-facetime-idUSBRE88H1DP20120918).

AT&T should give all customers who pay for its mobile Internet service the option to use any Internet application they want to use regardless of which data plan they buy.

The Gillard regime has been trying to censor the media and several other groups for a while. Now they have passed Legislation allowing them access to your internet details, to collect and keep Australians' internet records, including their web-browsing history, social media activity and emails.

On FaceBook, there are perfectly lovable accounts made by nerdy people, and they're accounts made for roleplaying as one's favorite character from whatever movie or TV show that they are most nerdy about.

Supporters of these accounts (aka those who have such an account and/or hold at least one dear on their "friends" list) lovingly refer to them as "roleplayers", "FaceBook roleplayers", "RP's", or "FBRP's". But in the eyes of those against these accounts (tattletales and FB itself), we/they should be counted as "fake accounts".

I am a supporter, and I belong in the "and" section. I have a separate account as Jessie from the Toy Story series, and I hold many roleplayers on both of my "friends" list very, very dear to my heart. Recently, someone threatened to report and ban my favorite roleplayer of Timon from the The Lion King series, and I was absolutely heartbroken. This wouldn't have been the first time one of my roleplayer friends had been permanently force-deleted, either.

I know that there are some people who hide behind anonymity to do truly terrible things to others, but I think that there should be true proof that that's what someone's doing before they ban somebody. One example would be a screenshot that can be proved to be 100% unedited.

UPDATE: The photo you see as the petition photo was the exact photo that was the profile picture of the Timon roleplayer I mentioned. I cannot currently message him, see his wall, or see his profile picture, as he temporarily deleted his account by choice in response to the threats. He's back on, but I still don't have the ability to talk to him. I really am heartbroken about that.

ITU and the Internet

Right from inception, the Internet has had no central ruling authority. But this December, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) is conducting a review of the international agreements governing telecommunications and aims to expand its regulatory authority to the Internet.

Countries such as Russia which are advocating the ITU have regulatory authority over the Internet have advocated restrictions over the Internet "where it is used to interfere in the internal affairs of a state". This represents a dramatic threat to the openness of the Internet, where countries could regulate content not just within their own borders, but over the entire Internet.

Geographically isolated nations such as New Zealand and other Pacific Island nations have a significant economic and social interest in an open and well functioning internet. Accordingly, such changes to the ITU may harm our social and economic well being more than other nations.

The ITU has been a closed organisation for nearly 150 years - they represent the antithesis of the Internet community’s open and inclusive approach. Civil society, private sector, technical experts, and Internet users will only have limited input in the process. This would be a significant departure from the open, participatory, multistakeholder model that has made the internet a successful driver of social and economic growth.

If you support the continuing evolution of the multistakeholder internet, you are invited to read and sign this statement of principles.

Whereas, the Internet has become a major force globally for economic and social progress, opening up opportunities for consumers, educators, innovators, creators, artists and commerce.

Whereas, geographically isolated nations such as New Zealand and other Pacific Island nations have much to gain socially and economically from an open and well functioning internet.

Whereas, the benefits of the Internet have been created in the absence of any single central regulating authority or single standard-setting organization. Instead, it has been governed by a combination of groups in a multi-stakeholder model, which have evolved over time, and will continue to evolve. These organisations have included:
the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) coordinates identifiers, such as domain names and Internet Protocol addresses, across the Internet
the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is an open organisation that develops and promotes technical standards for the Internet
the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where members, and the public work together to develop Web standards.
the Internet Governance Forum (or IGF) was established in 2006 under a mandate from the United Nations to discuss public policy issues related to key elements of Internet governance in order to foster the sustainability, robustness, security, stability and development of the Internet

Whereas, the definition of "Internet governance" has been captured succinctly by a 2005 Report of the UN-sponsored World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Working Group on Internet Governance to mean "the development and application by Governments, the private sector and civil society, in their respective roles, of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programmes that shape the evolution and use of the Internet."

Whereas, the characteristics of the multistakeholder actor in Internet governance may vary from organisation to organisation and from country to country; however all institutions should share certain attributes of openness, participation and representation of the Internet community as declared herein.

NOW, THEREFORE,

We declare our shared interest in and determination to keep the Internet open as a vital, global platform for access to information and communication, and an enabler of economic and social opportunity in New Zealand, across our region and around the world, while working to protect privacy, security and to keep children safe online.

We ask that all Internet governance organizations must share certain qualities: that they have a specific purpose; they have defined, limited powers; that their roles are narrowly tailored to specific objectives; and they provide open, transparent and participatory processes for stakeholder involvement.

We acknowledge that today’s multi-stakeholder institutions are not frozen in place. As the Internet evolves, so will its institutions. By the same token, any institution’s legitimacy to govern is not fixed for all time, but should be anchored in the aforementioned WSIS definition of Internet governance.

We ask that any institution engaging in Internet governance should articulate to Internet users the institution’s scope, purpose, and processes in clear, transparent ways.

We demand that any institution engaging in Internet governance provide for participation by all of the Internet’s stakeholders in meaningful ways before any decision.

We expect such institutions to engage in an ongoing dialogue with all affected stakeholders, including Internet users themselves. An institution’s legitimacy to govern must be derived from a shared understanding of its role in the ecosystem, addressing issues such as the following questions:

Why? Why is the institution acting and does it compete with another institution?

Who? Who are the decision makers, and how are they appointed or elected?

In August 2005 - A TWISTED teacher jailed for downloading 11,000 vile images of children is masterminding a website for paedophiles from behind bars. Disgraced chemistry tutor Nigel Oldfield, 44, plays “agony uncle” to perverts who log on to the site, which justifies paedophile activities and demands sex with children be made legal. The site also advises paedophiles on how to download child abuse images without being caught.

Now released not only does the pro-paedophile ex-teacher still run blog's for that give advice to other paedophiles but he spends a great deal of time harrassing survivors of child sexual abuse on facebook, by using fake profiles. This man is a clear danger to children and should get a immediate internet ban

Oldfield was arrested in August 2002 after a shopper saw him taking pictures of children in Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre. Police then discovered child porn images on computers at his flat in Doncaster. Oldfield, was head of science at a Derbyshire school in the summer of 2002 when, over a three-week period, he collected abusive images of children/babies in several 18-hour internet sessions.

He set up the website, which the Mirror has chosen not to name, while out on licence after serving eight months for possessing child abuse images. The site was axed in May by internet service providers after a police probe and Oldfield’s probation team ordered he return to prison. But now he has managed to restart it and Oldfield is in contact with fellow perverts on the running of the website, which offers a mobile number and an email address to offer one-to-one “support”.

He is also campaigning to lower the age of consent to 12, and to legalize indecent images of children

As part of Canada's Economic Action Plan, $225 million was provided to Industry Canada over three years to develop and implement a strategy to extend broadband coverage to as many unserved and underserved households as possible, beginning in 2009–2010. By far the biggest component of this strategy was the Broadband Canada: Connecting Rural Canadians program.

Broadband internet access is viewed as essential infrastructure for participating in today's economy, as it enables citizens, businesses and institutions to access information, services and opportunities that could otherwise be out of reach.

Bell and Rogers have recently both undertaken a forced transition costing their rural wireless clients hundreds of dollars per month to receive services comparable to those enjoyed by their urban clients at a fraction of the cost.

Clients happy with previously available technologies are now being forced to transition to metered billing in numerous markets previously served by unmetered wireless service.

This transition was implemented by both companies simultaneously. No high speed alternative technologies have been offered to rural clients and there is no plan to install optical fibre cable or perform other needed infrastructure upgrades.

The Anti-counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is proposed to be passed. Recently, SOPA was discarded after public outrage and internet strikes. ACTA was shelved last year but now there are plans to initiate it.

Not only did 2011 see the sudden death of Joe Gentile, but the removal of intelligent programming and music from weekdays (and even parts of the weekend).

It is totally unfair to get rid of Angry White Male, Job Talk, John DiVita's Morning Show, and other programming that made WJJG an amazing radio station.

Mancow should not be on at all. He is incoherent and his show does not belong on a community radio station like WJJG. Michael Savage should be aired in two hours or removed too, and sent back to WIND.

Richard O'Dwyer a 23yr old University student has been served an Extradition Warrant by the US on charges of copyright infringement relating to his web site which provided links to enable its users to access films on the internet. At all times he was in the UK, his servers were not in the US and his domain names were not in the US.

The alleged conduct took place entirely in the UK. Richard is asking for a fair trial in the UK, where the alleged offences took place and where he will be able to defend himself.

There have been numerous reports by Optus customers, that over the last few months and more, their Mobile and Internet Networks have been widespread and quickly deteriorating.
