1. Bring Clockwork Angels North American Tour 2013 to Los Angeles
Rock 'n Roll inductees Rush excluding LA from 2nd leg of tour
Rush's management company (SRO Production) said by phone the band had toured Los Angeles in November, 2012, during its first leg in support of their latest release “Clockwork Angels”.
Rush did in fact perform in Anaheim, Universal City, and San Diego last year. However, if you check the World Almanac, you'll find these cities are not Los Angeles.
Although Universal City is in the Greater Los Angeles area, it's venue of the Gibson Amphitheater seats only around 6000. The Honda Center in Anaheim is considerably larger yet it's quite a distance from Los Angeles and both shows were only for one night each.
With a group history that spans more than four decades, Rush has usually performed in either Los Angeles or Hollywood when they are touring in Southern California. (source: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/tourdates.php)
Of course they would as the City of Angels is arguably one of the largest media markets in the world.
Rush will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Nokia Theater in April, and with exceptional reviews of their latest album “Clockwork Angels” and corresponding live shows, it would be a criminal act for avid fans living in the Los Angeles area to be deprived of this likely last chance to see them perform.
2. McFly Los Angeles Venue Change
After an instant sell out of their first Los Angeles show in 6 years, McFly added a 2nd show at the same venue, the Roxy. The 2nd show went on to sell out instantly leaving a large number of fans upset because they were unable to get a ticket to see McFly.
Fans have waited over half a decade for their return and being that so many were unable to purchase a ticket because of the high demand it would only make sense to move one of these shows, if not both, to a larger venue like the El Rey, Avalon, or Henry Fonda.
3. Get Heath Ledger a Star on The Walk of Fame
This Petition is to get the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to give Heath Ledger a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, in honor of his memory!
He was one of the greatest character actors who ever lived. Not only for his role as The Joker in "The Dark Knight" but also for his roles in "10 Things I Hate About You", "The Patriot, " A Knights Tale", "Brokeback Mountain" etc. etc.
4. Jackson Houston Hollywood Drug Ban
Drugs in the music and movie business have taken many lives over the years. At no point has the industry taken a solid stand to improve this condition. Society in general bans drug use in the workplace as do others such as professional and amateur sports teams.
Hollywood should now lead the way in banning drugs and drug use in light of the recent losses of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. A policy banning drug use should be contained in every talent contract and embrace a true zero tolerance drug policy.
This policy would be mandated and appear in every recording or movie contract. The clause would terminate the contract upon breach. This ban can and should also extend to any lyrics and content that promote the use and sale of illegal drugs.
5. Get Tupac an Hollywood Star
I love Tupac and his work he provided the world thru music and on the big-screen, so my aim is to get enough signatures for Hollywood to at least acknowledge his work by giving him an Hollywood star.
6. Give Hattie McDaniel an Oscar; Support the replacement of her plaque
In 1937, the Best Supporting Actor and Actress were first awarded. The winners received plaques instead of statuettes for the first seven years. After that according to the Academy's history, in 1943, all plaques were later replaced with statuettes.
Hattie McDaniel, the first African American to win the role of Best Supporting Actress in 1939 for Mammy in Gone with the Wind received the award (plaque), but her plaque was never replaced with the statuette (Oscar). She donated her plaque to Howard University, but is was lost during the riots of the 1960's.
Because it is such an important historical artifact the Friends of Hattie believe that it is only right for the lost plaque to be replaced with a statuette as have been all other plaques. Plans have been made to house the award at the international headquarters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. McDaniel was a member and a part of the first graduate chapter, Sigma Sigma that was formed in Los Angeles who were instrumental in petitioning the Academy to nominate her.
7. Choices in films for Americans
There seem to be an influx of 3-D films coming from Hollywood as of late. There are a lot of people that do not or even cannot watch these films for specific reasons. Some are not able to watch 3-D films due to the fact that it gives them a headache or it hurts their eyes.
Yet there are others, like myself, do not want to watch a film that is filmed entirely or mostly in 3-D. If you the film makers wish to continue making films in 3-D, then perhaps you should consider the possibility of making the same film in 2-D for the people that wish to see the film? We are not asking you to stop making films in 3-D. We are only asking to be able to have a choice in watching a 3-D film or not.
8. IMPROVE OUR 13th DISTRICT neighborhoods
Our neighborhood surrounding Sunset and Western within the 13th Council district has improved over the years, yet there are still VITAL areas with room for further enhancement for our resident's quality of life.
Illegal dumping, lack of trash cans, littering, persons LOITERING and drinking alcoholic beverages on our sidewalks, protecting our children's exposure to bad influences especially around schools and preschools and childcare facilities.
Together we as concerned residents can promote neighborhood cleanups and beautification. LET US STRIVE TOWARDS PRIDE OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
9. Stop America's anorexic culture
I don't like the "anorexic culture" Hollywood, modeling mags, and Olympic gymnastics keep pushing. This obsession with who ever is the skinniest including the worship of Paris Hilton and Megan Fox is not only unwarranted but stupid.
I keep seeing women with legs and arms like twigs, with no butt or hips at all, ribs sticking out, and they think are becoming exactly what most men want because they have no fat on them.
Which is only true for a small percentage of vain idiots, and they aren't the people one should be looking for approval from.
10. Buffy movies only with Joss Whedon!
I just read that Roy Lee and Doug Davison are about to create a new Buffy movie which has nothing to do with the original Series. But we all know that this fantastic series became that famous because of the genious hand of creator Joss Whedon.
And now they are about to destroy an absolute memorial. We cannot sit there and wait until they have eliminated one of the last few REALLY good and intelligent series around the globus!
So come together, buffy/angel-fans around the world and let's try to stop this nightmare before it begins!
There is no reason why we should sit and watch them destroying such a fantastic series!
GET UP.
11. Bring Back British Baddies
Sign our petition to demand that Hollywood Casting Directors restore British actors to the positions of contempt that they so richly deserve.
My petition pertains to a charitable event that could be held by the AFI and would involve celebrities duplicating famous and beautiful pictures of other celebrities from what is dubbed as the "golden age" of hollywood. And a golden age it was.
Movies were original and the plots were meaningful and moving, and hollywood was filled with a glamour and elegance, in the movies and people, that could never be duplicated. But it can be emulated, and beautifully I might add, by the celebrities of the day that owe their career to the likes of Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburne, Lauren Bacall, Spencer Tracy, and Ingrid Bergman to name a few.
And I know some of you might be thinking "Why buy a remake when I could get the original?" The same reason they remake movies. To familiarize younger audiences with classics in a way they can relate, with actors and actresses they can relate to, or at least are familiar with. Not to mention the fun in seeing which legend your favorite celebrity resembles, and the charitable cause the proceeds go to.
And I'm sure the celebs would have fun paying homage to the ones those they admire and inspired them.
The movie to be made by Bill Bannerman called "Unveiled" portrays story of a Muslim veiled woman who has two husbands and a lover. This portrays a wrong image of Muslim women.
Muslim women are not allowed to marry more than once till they get a divorce or husband dies; and having a lover is certainly prohibited. Moreover a vulgar hindu actress Mallika Sherwat has been put in the lead role.
This movie is not just portraying a wrong image of Muslim women but also aimed to produce a negative image of Burqa/Veil.
14. For the Release of CHINESE DEMOCRACY by GUNS N'ROSES
GUNS N’ROSES is one of the most exciting band in the Rock history.
The CHINESE DEMOCRACY album is recorded, the demos probably available for an elite. That is not fair because the fans and everybody who enjoys good music must be able to buy a copy of the CD.
Sign the petition that will help Axl W. Rose and the other members of the band, to accelerate the release of these brand new songs.
15. Recall Mayor Mara Giulianti
During her 18+ years in office, the welfare of the citizens of Hollywood has not been served by Mara Giulianti.
She has repeatedly handed out tax incentives to wealthy builders, promoted rampant construction that has diminished the quality of life in Hollywood, and has shown little or no concern with the lives of middle and lower income residents.
Her removal from office would help Hollywood return to its roots as the "Diamond of the Gold Coast."
June 16, 2006
Many Celebrities have an income per film/job that tops that of a small 3rd world country.
I believe that the gross wealth of celebrities is appalling. Hollywood's high earners earn god knows how many more than the average family.
It is not fair that they earn such sums of money for starring in a 2 hour long feature or singing a few songs.
Many are without genuine talent and simply milk the fame of one song or film for the rest of their life. However, we as normal joes do not realise the potential comsumer power we have. It is us that make these "celebrities".
I want this petition to achieve something. Celebrities granted some do good work for charity but they don't exploit this enough. They don't make us aware of them as much as they should.
So I wish to petition Hollywood to make them aware of the consumer power we have and that talent should be rewarded and that celebrities should do more to help those who need it most and stop with the prada hand bags and 13 mansions.
17. Give Mariah Carey a Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame
May 11, 2006
I am outraged that such a talented and respected artist - who has been performing for more than 15 years & is the #1 BIGGEST SELLING RECORDING ARTIST IN HISTORY, yes, history, has not even been honoured with a lousy star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
It outrages me even more to see people like Destiny's Child, the Olsen twins and Britney Spears, although also very talented, have recieved one and Mariah still hasn't. What are people thinking?
So please, if you are a fan and would like to see Mariah recieve a star (which she should have gotten a LONG time ago - when 1998's Butterfly reached #1) please sign this petition!!!
Thankyou :)
18. E! Hollywood Story for the Fresh Prince of Belair
This petition is to get Fresh Prince of Belair on E! True Hollywood Stories.
19. Save All Of The Good Movies
As you may have noticed, Hollywood has been re-making a lot of the older movies such as:
Amittyville, Phyco, The Texas Chainsaw Massicur, and now their trying to re-make the first three Chuckie movies, and their not even going to use the original voice of Chuckie.
I don't know about some of you, but I think that is wrong. And I think that they should be stopped before they turn another classic movie into crap.
20. Dave Matthews Band No More "Hollywood" Producers
As many Dave Matthews Band fans know, the band has been using mainstream producers for their last few albums; Lillywhite, Ballard, and most recently Mark Batson, who is known best for his work with Beyonce` and 50 Cent.
Although some of the music represented on these production albums is very much worth listening to, it doesn't have the same appeal as earlier Matthews albums. The Dave Matthews Band hardly seems the type to need a "hollywood" music producer, it may be working as more of a crutch than anything else.
This is a petition of The Dave Matthews Band to self-produce their next studio album, the fans demand it and without fans a band is nothing.
21. Film the beginning - Film the Hobbit
A petition to request the producers and directors of "The Lord of the Rings" to complete the story and to encourage them to film the beginning of the story "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien.
22. Let Sega make a live action/Cgi feature film version of The "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise
In order to Capitilize the success of the "Sonic X" TV series and the upcoming "Sonic Heroes". They should have no problem selling the Sonic franchise to a Hollywood Movie studio when it buys the rights to it to give Sonic the Hollywood Treatment and make a live action/Cgi feature film with Dr. Eggman in live action and make Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Cream and Cheese to be Cgi animated. I think it would be a box office hit in order to blow that now tanked Tomb Raider sequel out of the water!
I'd tell you Sonic gonna get the movie deal he most richily deserves and trust me it will not be like the 1993 Super Mario Brothers movie!
Sign this petition to have Sega make a live action/Cgi feature Film version of the "Sonic the Hegehog" franchise and bring Sonic and his friends on the big Screen in order to Capitilize the succes on "Sonic X" and "Sonic Heroes"
23. Gabriel Byrne And The Walk Of Fame
This Petition is to be signed by fans of Gabriel Byrne if you think that he should be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
24. Backstreet Boys should have a star on the hollywood walk of fame!
Backstreet Boys have been making good music for 10 years now. And as a Backstreet fan, I think they deserve a star on the hollywood walk of fame!
25. Friday The 13th Part 7 Re-mastered Uncut DVD
How can I help get Part 7 uncut on DVD?
Now, you may be a little confused but don't. This is the plan: When Jason X
is released, Mr Buechler (director of Part 7) wants to make a noise. Well in
the mean time to Jason X being released, all the fans on the web need to come together and send letters and printed off E-mails to the following
address:
MMI
12031 Vose Street
North Hollywood, CA 91605
We need to send lots of letters and printed off E-mails and this will all
build up into sacks and sacks full hopefully. Then when Jason X is released
and Mr Buechler has alot of letters, he is going to call Paramount and
arrange a meeting and take in all these letters in a big sack at once. They
won't be able to ignore that!
If you consider yourself a Friday the 13th fan please, write some letters
and print off E-mails and send them to
MMI
12031 Vose Street
North Hollywood, CA 91605
The letters on the inside have got to be Dear Paramount. But the address on
the outside has to be
MMI
12031 Vose Street
North Hollywood, CA 91605
That way Mr Buechler will recieve them and take them into Paramount and that
means Paramount can not lie and say they have not recieved any. We can't
wait to see there reply when Buechler brings in sacks and sacks full of
letters.
Also, say what you would like to see on the dvd, give features and pitch a
concept. But make sure you ask for Part 7 to be released uncut and be
polite.
Please send your letters and printed off E-mails and let's get Friday The
13th Part 7 and the rest of the series uncut on dvd.
We can do this and we will, remember every letter counts that inculdes yours
so take a few minutes and write that letter! It took over a 1000 letters to
get Star Trek back on the air so it will take about that to get Part 7 uncut
on dvd.
I have a (horror)website can I help?
Yes you can, please put this link on your page and link it to this site so
more people will find out about how to get Part 7 uncut on dvd. We will link
you back ofcourse, just let us know!
Link it to http://www.gutsandgore.com/part7uncut
DO NOT LINK THE BANNER DIRECTLY,
PLEASE PUT IT ON YOUR OWN SITE!
Scenes that were cut.
- Michael's death by spike was more graphic.(Tina's flashback of him was
more graphic as well)
- Dan's death with Jason's hand busting through him was more graphic and
impactful.
- When Russell got gacked w/ Jason's axe there was a BIG burst of blood like
a fountain!
- When Judy was slammed in the sleeping bag, there's more hits against that
tree, and each progressively bloodier than the last
- When Maddy was killed we got to see the syth bite into her neck.
- When Ben's head got crushed-- it got squeezed to the size of a bloody
walnut
- When Dr. Crews got gutted, we got to see his guts
- When Melissa was axed, we got to see the impact.
- And the final teaser ending of the film was removed, where Jason comes up
from the depths and kill an unsuspecting fisherman
- There were also several subtractions of blood and effects track elements
that are missing throughout the film. These scenes exist in one form or
another.
