1. Calne A4 - Say "NO MORE"

A public meeting is being held at John Bentley School at 7pm on Thursday 3rd November to discuss the Hills planning application to increase the site at Lower Compton so that it becomes three times as large as it is now and thus triple the sheer amount of lorries on the A4 through Calne and the villages.

It is intended that all recyclables from Wiltshire will be taken there for sorting – then taken away to other parts of the country.

Wiltshire Council’s planning policies have already allocated land at Stanton St Quinton to use for a ‘waste transfer facility’ and not at Lower Compton.

10,000 signatures need to be gathered to show local opinion doesn’t want any further HGV movements.

We need your support to attend the meeting and get as many other people there as possible.

2. Gate Maintenance a Must in Stetson Hills

The Stetson Hills CC&R's were written towards the aim of protecting our largest investment -- our homes. The Stetson Hills board of directors does not recognize that allowing unfinished wood on the private access gates of the homes in our community to become blackened over time is a detracting element which is negatively impacting our homes' values. Furthermore, the board does not acknowledge nor recognize that this is in violation of the CC&R's, which is the governing document of our association.

Specifically, the CC&R's brought to bear read as follows:

1.27 "Improvement" means: (a) any Residential Unit, building, fence or wall; (b) any swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, road, driveway, parking area or satellite dish; (c) any trees, plants, shrubs, grass, granite or other landscaping improvements of every type and kind; (d) any statuary, fountain, artistic work, craft work, figurine, ornamentation or embellishment of any type or kind (whether or not affixed to a structure or permanently attached to a Lot or Parcel); and (e) any other structure of any kind or nature.

3.8 Repair of Buildings. No Residential Unit, building, structure or other Improvement on any Lot, Parcel or other property shall be permitted to fall into disrepair and each such Residential Unit, building, structure and other Improvement shall at all times be kept in good condition and repair and adequately painted or otherwise finished.

3. VBH ELO-NO!!!

The Village of Barrington Hills is seeking to enact an Exterior Lighting Ordinance that will significantly restrict resident's rights to choose how they illuminate their homes, driveways and landscapes.

The Ordinance was drafted at the request of the Village Board by the Plan Commission, and is now being considered by the ZBA for approval and subsequent forwarding to the Board.

Most in the village believe the Ordinance is too restrictive. Anything from a simple, single floodlight to the wattage of the lighting at one's doorway would be regulated with fines imposed for non-compliance regardless if you live on one or one hundred acres.

We believe this is wrong, and hope that you agree with your petition signature.

5. Residents Against Crestwood Reserve Dog Off-Leash Facility

The Hills Shire Council have voted to build a 5000m2 dog off leash enclosure in Crestwood Reserve, Baulkham Hills, against the wishes of the majority of local residents and park users.

Just some of the reasons why this is not appropriate are:

1. Fundamentally the wrong location:-
A reserve of Environmental Significance being an area of biodiversity, part of the Cumberland Woodland Plain currently classified endangered and under nomination to be upgraded to critically endangered. Part of the Parramatta River Catchments, home to endangered animals & Fauna species.

2. Park aesthetics and long term damage:-
Crestwood Reserve already has much of its natural environment removed for ever, through various sporting fields and specific interest facilities, this can never be replaced. Further allocation by council of the remaining natural reserve land will result in long term deterioration of the remaining limited natural environment and ecosystem. Once its gone, its gone and not there for future generations to enjoy and benefit from.

3. Dog Clubs Usage.
Council’s documentation clearly states interest by dog clubs and has stated the facility could be licensed to a dog club or association, and at these times unavailable for resident use. Indeed, these clubs consulted in the master plan details of this facility and stated the proposed area was not suitable due to too many trees. We suspect this means either removal of trees or use of sporting fields located within Crestwood reserve for dog club agility events.

4. Parking, Traffic Congestion, Increased Pollution.
Crestwood Reserve and the two schools that border Crestwood Reserve currently attracts a significant number of visitors on a continual basis 7 days a week. Adding another specific interest facility will significantly add to the problems residents already experience on a daily basis.

5. West Ward Councillors all voted NO.
All 3 West Ward Councillors: Liberal & Labour voted against this facility being located in Crestwood Reserve as did all the remaining 3 Labour Councillors. Why is it right that the remaining 6 Councillors including the Mayor can push this through against both the Residents and our Ward Councillors wishes? Council has failed to listen to the people.

6. Stand up and let council hear your voice.
If you agree with us and want to retain Crestwood Reserve remaining a natural environment

 please sign this petition, or collect a copy, and get your own signatures
 Sunday 24th, May at 4 pm; come to an info and planning rally at Crestwood reserve on the proposed dog-off Leash enclosure site (Opposite corner of Peel Rd and Warrina Ave.).
 attend a rally on council Tuesday May 26th 2009; starting at 6 pm when we will present this petition to council at the start of their meeting.

Thank you,
Crestwood Residents Group;
Against Crestwood Reserve Dog off-leash Enclosure Facility

6. Keep Heidi M and Spencer P off TV!

I believe that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are horrible role models and attention seeking people who are exploiting themselves to be in the limelight. I believe that allowing them to be on television, on talk shows, in the magazines and in our homes will hurt AMERICA in the long run!

This "feud" has gone on too long! I don't care if this could possibly be acting, when the youth of America watches this show it implies that you can be a lazy, self-righteous person and still be "famous" (the goal of many of the youth).

Every-time I watch the Hills with my sisters, I am always appalled at Heidi and especially Spencer. Spencer wants this to go on because the longer Spencer and Lauren hate each other the longer he is famous. He is willing to hurt anyone (including his sister) to maintain in the limelight.

IS THIS THE KIND OF REALITY TELEVISION WE WANT OUR YOUTH TO IMITATE?

NO.

LET'S GET THEM OFF TV!

8. Protect RaoGhat Hills and the Mystical Tribals of Narainpur in Bastar District, Chhattisgarh

Raoghat needs to be protected if we have to save planet earth.

One of the Newpaper today stated that a MOU to plunder the Raoghat Hills will be signed at Delhi on 6th August,2007.

If at all this projects comes up it will be doomsday to the beautiful flaura and fauna and the rich culture and traditions of the Indigenous people residing in Bastar.

On 3rd july 2007 the Business Community of Narainpur District in North Bastar called for a "Bund"(closure) .The reason was the fight between the Business Communities of Narainpur and Antagarh District for the ownership of Raoghat Township once the Raoghat mines start.

This looks like a well planned conspiracy to divert the mind of the people from the real issues surrounding the RaoGhat Mines and the Rail Project. Is it because this project was rejected in the nineties by the Enviroment and Forest Ministry? Why the State Government feels that now when there is a worlwide concern to save Environment that they will get clearance from the Ministry?

Why are the sentiments of the Indigenous people being completely ignored?

Has anyone bothered to find out about the name "Rao Ghat"?According to the local belief Rao Ghat is home too the Creator of this world Lord "Raja Rao Natraj" and Goddess "Mata Maoli"(sister of Maa Danteshwari) and their family.

Not only the local people come here to worship daily but also they gather in large numbers throughout the year and take out "Jatra"(procession) of the God and Godess.Even lot of foreign tourist come here to enjoy the wonderful eco-system present at Rao Ghat.

So any mining at RaoGhat will be like destroying the God and Goddess of the Tribals thus will come under the SC/ST Atrocities Act of the Constitution of India.

Is the State Government planning a revolt by the Indigenous people so that they can kill and displace more tribals as they have been doing since the start of Salwa Judum??

Just because "Dalli Rajhara" mines are over Bhilai Steel plant now wants "Rao Ghat" mines. What will happen once the "Rao Ghat" mines are also exhausted?

Is it really the BSP which wants the mines or they are playing in the hands of Tata,Essar,Jindal and other Sponge Iron Units of Chhattisgarh? Afterall the "Bailadilla" mines in Dantewada District which belongs to the NMDC is now being allotted to the likes of Tata Steel,Essar Steel and other mining companies?

In the days of Global Warming,Tsunami and Weather Change do we really need to destroy the most beautiful and amazing eco-system still existing in RaoGhat?

Is BSP playing in the hands of Tata and Essar Steel?
Are we not worried that our future generation won't have fresh air to breathe or will there be a future generations at all???

The Locals in Raoghat area have strong belief in their God and Goddess and they feel that if RaoGhat is disturbed it will bring an end to the human race.

Is the State Government and the Government at the Center listening?May be the State Government and the Business Community for once should think about what they are leaving for the future generations and not their immediate gains....

As per the provisions of the Constitution of India, the resolve of the village council is supreme in Bastar District. No body can play with the resolve of the tribal village council. However, contrary to those provisions, state government is acting as the agent of the private industrial houses, did not bothered to educate the tribals about the importance of public hearing at a village council to manage the favorable resolve of the village council.

15. Forest Hills Dog Owners Group

April 16, 2006

Giving dogs their own place to play means they're less likely to disturb other members of our community.

Adequate off-leash play and exercise helps make dogs better neighbors. A dog that gets plenty of exercise is less likely to bark incessantly or jump on people.

Dog runs bring people together, create a sense of community, and provide a forum for dog owners to share information that can help foster more responsible pet ownership. That in turn makes dog owners better neighbors.

17. Astoria Lane Stop Sign

The residents of Kedron Hills would like to see a 4-way stop sign at the intersection of Astoria Lane, Euclid Court and Creston Hill. This would slow down speeders and help insure the safety of our kids.

This intersection is one of the busiest school bus stops in the neighborhood and installing two more stop signs on Astoria would greatly deminish the probablity of accidents and or fatalities invloving our children.

19. Free The West Memphis 3 - Jailed without proper evidence

The Robin Hood Hills Murders
May 5th, 1993 was a Wednesday, and when the Weaver Elementary school bell rang, three 8 year old boys headed home to their nearby West Memphis, Arkansas neighborhood. Only a few hours later they would be reported missing and an informal search by their parents would be under way.

The next afternoon at 1:45 PM, a child's body was pulled from a creek in an area known as Robin Hood Hills. Eventually the bodies of the other two missing children were found nearby. All three of them were naked and they had been tied ankle to wrist with their own shoe laces. The children had been severely beaten, and one child, Christopher Byers, appears to have been the focus of the attack; he had been stabbed repeatedly in the groin area and castrated.

A triple homicide is extremely unusual, and particularly when the victims are children and unrelated to one another. So far, two documentary films have been made about this case, and interest in it shows no sign of fading. The facts surrounding the Robin Hood Hills murders, the events which they triggered, the aftermath, the trials, the verdicts and the hearings have been the focus of an ongoing research project for the past several years and we have reached many surprising conclusions.

Having had no previous experience with this type of murder, the West Memphis Police Department allowed potential evidence to be destroyed at the site where the bodies of Steve Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore were located. Officers who were present made very little apparent effort to preserve or properly document the scene or to make accurate notes. Perhaps this was due to negligence or perhaps it was due to the fact that they were inadequately trained and inexperienced in handling such a crime and the events that naturally follow. Many unidentified people can be seen milling around the bodies in the brief crime scene video, and the Chief Investigator, Gary Gitchell can be seen smoking a cigarette well within the perimeter of the area.

Strangely, a juvenile probation officer was present when the horrible discovery was made and he indulged in speculation with a police officer about who might be responsible for such an unspeakable act. The probation officer had been following the activities of a local teenager named Damien Echols for years, and his first instinct what that the moody, dark haired teen was responsible. In fact, he and the police officer agreed that Damien was the only person they felt was "capable" of such a thing. Both men decided that the triple homicide had actually been a bizarre Satanic ritual sacrifice performed by a "cult" which they imagined Damien was the leader of.
