Why has he gone unnoticed for so long? He was one of the most influential people of the last half of the 20th century and I feel that is about time that he was recognised for all the good that he has given worldwide.
A Posthumous Knighthood for George Harrison !!!
Gulfport Library, located on the Beachfront in downtown Gulfport, has been slated for demolition. This magnificent building survived both Hurricanes Camille and Katrina and is an important piece of our culture, heritage, and history here on the Gulf Coast.
Despite the beating it took during Katrina, it still stands proudly and defiantly on the beachfront waiting for us to restore it to its former glory. Against all odds, this building survived the worst natural disaster in American history only to be attacked by some of our own city council members and supervisors. Futhermore, the designs and drawings created by Andres Duany, a planner hired by the City of Gulfport after the storm, show a high-rise hotel on the beachfront property where the library is currently located.
Let's reach out a helping hand to this grand monument; its restoration can serve as a testament to our community and show that although we've taken a beating, we're still here and we're coming back strong and proud. Please sign the petition below to let your elected officials know that you want them to save and rebuild this important marker of our heritage and our history.
3. Bring Back The Show POPULAR
The show Popular was a show that was cancelled due to low ratings. Loyal fans were obviously unhappy. The show only ran on for 2 seasons [43 episodes] and 1 year [1999-2000]. It ended in a cliffhanger which the writer promised would be solved during the next season, and unfortunately there wasn't a next season.
The fans of the show protested, claiming that the writer promised a third season, which he indirectly did. Despite the unhappy fans, and there cries to the media, the show did not continue to air.
4. Denial of Change of Zone A-R to R-1 Docket #542 Harrison Co. Plan Commission
The Foursight Development Company plan to develop 80 acers of land on the North Side of Big Indian rd. This development will increase traffic, decrease land in a water shed that may lead to flooding down stream, in an area that is all ready saturated with developments.
Georege Harrison has contributed to the world, not only through music, both solo and as a Beatle, but through concerts for human rights, Bangladesh, money for charities of all types and of course contributions to music and film. George was a man of peace, which he promoted to the end! We say Knight George Harrison!!
