1. Save our Community - say "NO" to the HRC 
Palm Beach County is proposing a 60 to 90 bed homeless shelter to be located at the current office spaces of 1000, 45th St. W.Palm Beach, FL. The County had made this proposal without any analysis to impact on surrounding communities.
There are numerous neighborhoods in the backyard of this proposed location and an elementary school almost immediately behind this address. The 45th St. corridor of rehabilitative services is quickly becoming a depositing grounds for all communities of our very large County. With no funds to build other proposed HRC's in the West and South, it may be very well that this will be the only one for some time, serving all of the Palm Beaches.
With this in consideration, we are asking the County to find a more suitable location, especially one that does not infringe on a "A" rated elementary school, whose students are the most vulnerable of our community.
2. Inclusive Education in Pinellas County, FL
Some schools in Pinellas County offer inclusive environments. Some work, while others fail. We the residents of Pinellas County are asking that public schools (K -12) give children with disabilities the opportunity for Inclusive Education.
This new district level program will provide children with all levels of developmental disabilities the opportunity to be placed in classrooms with typical students on a full day basis. It will also provide all the resources necessary for these children, the co-teachers, and their typical peers to be successful. In a time of budget cuts, we are not asking to increase spending. We are asking to use the monies allocated for existing or new self-contained units to be placed back into the typical classroom.
Inclusive Education is happening in states across this country (like: California, Illinois, Michigan and New Mexico). Research has shown that this approach to education works and benefits all the students. Through this petition, we can speak with ONE voice asking for positive change in the way we educate our children.
3. DNC Count The Votes Florida and Michigan
The Democratic National Committee voted to strip Florida and Michigan of all of their delegates for moving the dates of their primaries up past the desired DNC date.
Particularly egregious is the fact that Florida's Republican controlled legislature tied the move up date with an initiative to have machines with voter verified paper ballots.
On the dates of the Florida and Michigan primary 5.2 million people turned out to vote. Their votes must be counted, fairly and accurately.
In a year that the last primary on the calendar will be as important as the first, every single voter should have a voice.
4. Residential/Training Facility for Special Needs Population
There is a place in Brookshire, Texas that has a facility named Brookwood. I would like to see a facility similar to that built in our area to help young adults and older with various disabilities learn a trade and become productive members of society.
There are a large population of young adults and older with various disabilities who are in need of further programming. Once they reach the age of 21, there are no longer services available to them by the school system. Something needs to be done.
5. Remove the store manager of Wausau Tom Thumb
Customers of the Tom Thumb store in Wausau Fl. would like to have the current manager removed or demoted. If you are fed up with the treament and foul profanity and just not good customer service from the store manager Jeanne in Wausau Tom Thumb, then please sign and if possible give your phone number so that the corporate office can contact you and hear your opinion and experince.
