331. "Help Build" America's African Descent Slaves Library (AADSL)
(Former Chattel Slavery) is the beginning of Black History in America. You may think, everything is alright and it's O.K. to go about your business. I must warn you! It's not O.K. There are a few things needed to be done to help establish daily affirmation and to fully address many existing problems of today!
Many people do not know what chattel slavery means. The word chattel is a term used to identify former African Descent Slaves. According to Webster's, the word Chattel means (an item of personal, movable property, a slave)
There are several issues within the system, needing our immediate attention.
For this reason, it is extremely important for you to act now! So ratifying the same, (Former Chattel Slavery) in America, was only part of, an international slave trade.
Between the years 1783 and 1888 The institution of (Chattel Slavery) was largely religious and centered in Great Britain, Western Europe and the U.S.A.
The significance of the panacea Corps Of Chattel Slavery (PCOCS) is to:
1. Complete a Petition Drive to raise a minimum of 25 Million Signatures and Supporters. For questions about the petition please email us at: PCOCS2008@yahoo.com
2. Establish a new chain of America's African Descent Slaves Library (AADSL) to house all historical information pertaining to Black history as it started in America, Including all history pertaining to African Descent Slaves (From The Beginning Of Captivity, Up To Date With The Most Resent Documented Information.) For questions about (AADSL) please email us at: tyronenonprofit@yahoo.com
3. Create America's National Community Service Employment Educational Programs (ANCSEEP). The programs are to be presented as a preempted pilot Repertoire Of Reparations to be sought in respect for damage due to direct results of former chattel slavery in America! For questions about (ANCSEEP) please email us at: tyronepersonal@yahoo.com
What is more important and the main reason why these programs are necessary: It was legal according to law makers, to own human being as property therefore damning a people with the title of chattel slavery. This is why (PCOCS) wishes to Right The Wrong Doing Of Former Chattel Slavery. And How? Join the movement and learn more!
332. Stop the Closure of Greater Dandenong Mobile Library
Dear Mobile library users and supporters,
Please Help
Many people are aggrieved by the closure of the Mobile Library. This Mobile Library is a necessity, not a luxury at this age and time. A right, not a privilege for many people who cannot afford two cars. The majority of the people living in this area are working families with modest incomes. We have been using the Mobile Library service for years. It has been operating since 1974 and therefore has now become an icon and a lifeline, we cannot imagine life without it. I therefore fervently pray that you will be able to assist us in preventing the closure of an icon which has become a landmark for us.
Thanking you in anticipation.

333. Support the Tuition Support Bill
On November 28, 2007 Mr. Leo Glavine (Nova Scotia Liberal Education Critic) introduced a amendment to the education act to incorporate the provision for tuition support until the public system can provide a equal level of support.
It also calls upon the government to lift the arbitrary time limit of three years so that the children who need it can continue to attend a specially designated private school until such time at they are ready to go back to public school.
This is a very important piece of legislation for children with learning disabilities in Nova Scotia. We are asking everyone to support this Bill by signing this petition and adding their comments.
334. Spittng On School Property
The Bd. of Ed. is now considering and started cutting back spitting on school property. They're fining kids (starting in high-schools) for hawking on the tarmac or grass if caught.
These kids could be on welfare, foodstamps or worse, therefor making even bigger complications for their bills and foods. I could understand spitting on someone (as a third degree assault), but on free land!?! Thats just bull!
335. Natural Therapies Deserve Better Support
TAFE Tasmania has recently axed courses in Natural Therapies, which means that as of next year Tasmania will be the only state in Australia that does not offer courses in Natural Therapies.
This will force people to study interstate or by correspondence and will leave Tasmania without a valuable skill base from which to draw qualified practitioners. A 2005 study (Xue et al. The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. 2007, 13(6): 643-650. doi:10.1089/acm.2006.6355) found that the estimated number of visits to Complementary and Alternative Medicince practitioners by adult Australians in the 12-month period (69.2 million) was almost identical to the estimated number of visits to medical practitioners (69.3 million).
The annual “out of pocket” expenditure on CAM, nationally, was estimated as 4.13 billion Australian dollars (US $3.12 billion). Natural therapies are used widely in the community and form the basis of preventative health care. We believe that preventative medicine should form the back bone of health care in any progressive society.
Supporting natural therapies education is about providing choice, quality and safety in health care to every member of the Tasmanian community.
336. My fight against Norfolk FA
I'm a 15 year old manager, looking to gain qualifications, but the norfolk FA have denied me because im too young.
That i agree with, but as a manager don't i technically have the right to the same education as other managers?
337. "Keep Your Promises" to the world's children
Tell Government Leaders To Keep Their Promises To The World’s Children
“Keep Your Promises” is a campaign to remind the governments on the promises and commitments they have made specifically to the children of their countries and the world at large – the commitments to protect children in hazardous child labour, out-of-school children, universalisation of education and gender parity, all within the larger framework of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The year 2007 (07.07.07) is the mid-term of the commitments that governments made for the MDGs to be achieved by 2015. It is extremely significant for us to bring the focus back on the children, especially those who are being denied their rights to freedom, childhood and education. The world has already missed the goal of gender parity by 2005. It is time we take stock of the situation and work in a concerted manner to keep the promises made.
Facts:
* One in seven children is a child labourer: that's nearly 14 per cent of the children in the age group 5-14 years.
* One in five children do not go to school – this is nearly 18 per cent of the children in the age group (primary school).
* Most of them (57 percent) were girls! Huge numbers of them work as child labourers.
* There are over 238 million young people living on less than one dollar a day.
Child labour can be eliminated and replaced by universal education within 20 years at an estimated cost of US$760 billion. The benefits of eliminating child labour within the next two decades will amount to an estimated US$ 5.1 trillion for both developing and transitional economies, where most child labourers are found.
338. True Consultation for Isle of Wight Education Reforms
I, the undersigned, oppose all three options that the Isle of Wight Council has proposed to reform education on the Isle of Wight.
The leading Conservative party have put forward three options to change the existing education system - all 3 see AT LEAST 28 schools closing - 23 of which are successful primary schools which are in the TOP 10% of the country.
This review should offer an exciting vision for the future, such as maintaining quality provision, phasing in change, reducing class sizes and taking into account the wider role that primary schools play in our communities. Instead it offers the wholesale slaughter of our successful primary sector whilst paying scant regard to the need for all our schools to be supported and nurtured.
There are plenty of alternatives to the three proposals which could be done to improve standards. Councillors need to listen to teaching staff and people who work in schools - most are there because they truly want the best for the young people of the Island and think they deserve a quality education!
If enough signatures are received, this will be printed off and delivered to the Council.
Coach Arminio was dismissed as head coach of Perry Hall's Varsity Football Team.
No explanation was given for this decision by the Baltimore County Department of Education nor was due process followed.
This has had a negative affect on his players, family, and community.
340. Jasmine's Bill (Screen for Dyslexia)
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness that scares us. We ask ourselves - Who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are YOU not to be so?"
-Marianne Williamson
Dyslexia is not recognized or tested for in any school district. Dyslexic children often dont qualify for special education...because their IQ is too high...so they are left to suffer in the class room. These are intelligent children who only need to be taught differently...If we could recognize Dyselxia and treat it accordingly we would produce highly intelligent, productive adults. People like: Thomas Edison, John F. Kennedy, Henry Ford, Andrew Jackson, Albert Einstein,Magic Johnson,Tommy Hilfiger, Pablo Picasso,Nelson Rockefeller
Leonardo da Vinci, Tom Cruise, Whoopi Goldberg
341. Stop The Hat/Bandanna Ban and Confiscation at PCHS
Recently at Pekin Community High School, a student was suspended for having a bandanna inside his binder and got it confiscated.
Other students have gotten their hats confiscated because they were visible, whether attached to a backpack or in a pocket.
The deans said that bandannas are a sign you are in a gang and thats not always the case. Sometimes people wear bandannas to tie back their hair.
342. Let Alexandra Come to the United States
I truly can not understand the reason of why my dependant child can not reunite with me and her brother. My daughter Alexandra was approved for LEGAL Immigration into the USA in December, 2004.
Since then, we have been anxiously waiting for her immigrant visa which allow her to come to the US, and continue her education as a professional Concert Violinist.
In July 12, 2007 she had successfully passed her interview and was fingerprinted for the immigration purpose in the US Consulate in Kazakhstan.
Since that, - everything seems to be stuck again.
Alexandra had graduated from the National Music College for the Most Talented Children with 4.0 GPA, and plans to apply to Julliard or other similar institutions.
Her immigration status prevents us for making any plans for her superior education, not to mention our personal angst and pain this uncertain situation generates.
Please, feel free to forward this petition to your friends and social circle.
343. Make the California DREAM a Reality: Increase Financial Aid
The California DREAM act would qualify California undocumented students for state and institutional financial aid.
344. Virginia Tech outraged with Security on Campus, Inc complaint
"A complaint filed to the Department of Education requests a review into the actions of a University during a security situation to ensure the safety of its students. The Clery Act, passed by congress in 1990, was spearheaded by the SOC Inc. founders after the loss of their daughter, Jeanne Clery, who was raped and murdered in her dorm room Lehigh University in 1986.
If Virginia Tech is proven to be negligent in their safety precautions during the events of April 16, the university could be fined up to $27,500 and be barred from federal financial aid in the future.
According to the Virginia Tech website, over 60% of students use some form of financial aid, including aid opportunities given by the Department of Education.
Federal financial aid accounts for more than $80 million a year to 14 million applicants".- The Collegiate Times
This is a petition that will be given to SOC Inc. for their senseless act of filing a complaint against Virginia Tech.
We know as a community and institution that our university has investigated their security measures and has taken action to prevent future incidents.
As you can read above, this organization would rather prevent the operation of our school and see us suffer more than provide support.
345. Help Create A New School System
Everyday most of our teenagers complain that what they are learning in high school is unnecessary. Most parents can't even help their children with their homework anymore, because it is so irrelevant that they do not even remember how to do it.
My point is, teenagers are not learning what they need for everyday life after they graduate. Instead all they are getting is book smarts, which they already learned in elementary and middle school, but in high school it is just at a more advanced level.
What needs to be changed is that the mandatory and elective classes should be flipped because most of the elective classes are those that teach you what you need in everyday life.
On the other hand the mandatory classes such as Math, Science, and History are not needed after learning the basics of it in elementary school and middle school, unless you want a career in which you use those subjects, which is why they should be changed to electives.
346. SAVE NEW ERA SCHOOL
Builders are trying to take over educational institutions because of the extra FSI being given for promoting education.
After taking control of the educational instituition, the students are neglected, made to study in small and cramped conditions so that the extra FSI can be exploited for commercial considerations.
347. Support South Carolina Connections Academy
The mission of South Carolina Connections Academy is to provide individualized instruction for K-12 students throughout South Carolina who seek an alternative to the traditional classroom.
Students will attend school primarily from home, following a Personalized Learning Plan under the supervision of highly qualified South Carolina teachers working in partnership with the student’s face-to-face “learning coach” – typically a parent/extended family member. The curriculum aligns to South Carolina academic standards and combines the best in print and technology, delivered via a Learning Management System that ensures complete accountability.
The school will also provide students with all necessary technology along with community socialization activities.
348. West Liberty High School Foreign Language Program
Everyone knows that learning another language can be beneficial, so why not learn the language you want to learn instead of just learning what you have to to graduate high school?
West Liberty High School only offers Spanish as a foreign language. Students should be able to have more choices.
349. Abolish University Tuition Fees
We strongly believe that access to higher education should be on pupils' ability, not on ability to pay, and that it should be the duty of the Government to fund Universities through tax, not through tuition fees.
351. Medical Council Of India please adopt Integrated Medical Curriculum
Doctors education in india is at cross roads as there is conflict between MCI the supreme constitutionally appointed doctors body expected to give direction to education of physicians and the health minister and ministry controlled DNB Board.
Most doctors would support the more professionally managed and democratic MCI comparede to one man show of health ministry puppet DNB board. What do other doctors think?
352. Ban Homework in Victorian Schools
Research that schools that do not give out homework to children, usually have a higher education standard then those with homework.
Studies show that homework causes stress in children, cuts into family time, and causes children to stay up late doing it.
It's a problem for busy families who usually are doing other things, because homework then piles up, and then the children become stressed, stay up late and don't do well at school. If they become to stressed, they can lash out at studants or teachers.
The other problem with homework is that it is more important then the work you do at school. If you don't do much work in school, you can still pass if you do the homwork. If you don't do the homework but do the school work really well, you can fail.
Can you see sense in that? I can't. Sign this petition to ban homework.
353. Vote for Global Peace and become a Global Peace Representative
Global Citizens for Peace
http://www.globalcitizensforpeace.com/ is a Global alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace in which we all live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and co-prosperity.
The vision of Global Peace Centre is to contribute towards the creation of a Planetary Peace Culture looking to life and common humanism as the core values for a sustainable society. During the last few decades, a radical change has occurred in humanity's awareness of itself. In simple terms, we have, over the millennia, translated ourselves from "oneness to aloneness". This newly acquired state of aloneness and alienation causes considerable discomfort.
The truth is that all life on the planet is connected. GCFP attempts to understand what we have become and illuminate our future potential. Humankind has reached a state of development in which old modes of thinking and behaving threaten to destroy our planet.
We have come together as concerned Global citizens realizing that with increasing Global population requiring more and more resources with tremendous inequality of distribution our planet is reaching breaking point in terms of economic and ecological crises. This is having profound social and cultural effects. We require urgent ecological, social, economic and political solutions to problems which affect billions of people if we are to survive sustainably.
The Global Peacae Centre aims to contribute towards this next great global step - The Final Frontier, acknowledging the common ground of humanity and its connectedness with all life.
The essence of a sustainable future lies in the quality of the individual and their positive contribution to society. Optimization of health and lifestyle for every person is the key to our future.
The Transnational Peace Culture
Is life affirming and transcends national and regional barriers
Is based on the deepest values of humanity
Is the essence of human rights and existence
Expresses the oneness of all humanity
Each Representative will receive:

354. Stop illegal dispatching!
General Union says: Some universities, schools, and colleges are trying to cut costs by using agency workers and dismissing experienced instructors and staff. Outsourcing threatens everyone's job security and educational standards.
Stop outsourcing now!
355. Removal of Rossford Schools busdriver Dwayne Lau Jr.
While riding the rossford school bus in ohio, driven by Dwayne Lau Jr., students have been constantly treated unfairly by him.
He deals with trouble an incredibly wrong way, in doing such things like calling the students names, making fun of them, and even targeting specific students the whole ride, instead of all of his students.
Examples of his unethical behavior is agreeing with one student to kill himself, accusing another student of being gay (and tormenting him about that), calling another student vulgar names, for example "f****** retard".
Aside from being unfair, he also is a bad choice for a person in charge of driving many students, holding their lives in his hand. Everyday, he comes on, looking drunk, hung-over, high, and just completely out of it. His music taste has nothing to do with driving the bus, but its completely different if he makes the students on the bus listen to it to.
I bring this up, because on one occasion, he made the bus listen to a band called "Cannible Corpse", in which the lyrics were very vulgar. This band has a history of singing about rape, molestation, and violence, and should NOT be played to students this young.
In conclusion, Dwayne Lau Jr., is a unfair, unfit busdriver, and should be immediately fired.
Stillness Juniors was once a sought after school where parents would move into the catchment area so that their children could attend.
This school used to have a waiting list as classes were too full. So why in the last 4 years have parents been removing their children and placing them into other local schools or more drastically, moving out of the area all together?
Almost all the classes are now not fully subscribed. The amount of Teachers that have come and subsequently left the Juniors in the last 4 years is unprecedented. This in turn is affecting the superbly run infants & nursery school. If like me and many others you are unhappy with the way the Juniors is being run and feel that Stillness Junior School is desperately in need of a change of management then please sign this petition.
Let's again make Stillness Juniors a school we want to send our kids to. When we have enough signatures a copy will be sent to Ofsted, Lewisham Education Authority, the Mayor, our Local MPs, and the board of Governors. This petition in no way reflects against the hard working teachers in the juniors.
(If you tick the anonymous box your signature will only show on the completed petition to be used, but will not be visible to others online.)
Please visit our blog using the link above or copy and paste this address-http://stillness-petition.sampasite.com/ alternatively you can contact me using the contact author button below.
357. 'Missing' children not really missing
The BBC have asked for input on the subject - Finding the 'missing' schoolchildren - in the - Have Your Say - section.
As the question is worded as follows -
Has your child been excluded from school and not returned to education? Do you know somebody who has disappeared from any school register?
A BBC investigation is looking into reports that thousands of children go missing from the school register each year. These are children who have apparently fallen off the radar, "the disappeared", as one government agency put it.
They are not necessarily children who have been permanently excluded, but children who are completely unknown to the authorities. They may, for example, have been taken to another area by their parents and not enrolled in a new school.
-I believe this implies that they are asking for information on home educated children people know of.It is perfectly legal to Home educate children and obviously they do not need to be registered with a school. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/6657443.stm

358. More Catchment School Places in the UK
EDUCATION! EDUCATION! EDUCATION!
EVERY CHILD MATTERS or DO THEY?
‘Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child’.
Parents up and down the country are being denied school places at all three of their chosen schools… due to the government’s admissions criteria i.e. straight line distance and the new legislation for the lottery system.
The UK’s schools are oversubscribed, at bursting point and there are not enough catchment school places for our children.
The environment is effected as more parents are being forced into their cars, simply because there are not enough catchment school places within walking distance.
The Housing Market report (HMR) says the 2006 output of 160,000 new homes was about 60,000 short. The UK housing market is experiencing rapid growth yet the infrastructure does not appear to support the growth.
359. London Against Free Transport For Young People
Free travel was created for under-11's in January 2004, under-16's in September 2005 and under-18's in full time education in Septermber 2006 by London's Mayor, Ken Livingstone.
Since its creation, crime on London's transport network has risen considerably.
Since it's introduction, staff and passenger assaults, both verbal and physical have frequently been reported across London's media as have crimes of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and graffitti.
The time has now come to call upon the Mayor for the abolition of free travel for these individuals and stop them using our transport services as mobile youth clubs.
360. Save Brantford Collegiate Institute
The Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) is a historic high school in Brantford's downtown core which has been serving our community for over a century.
Shortly before the 2006 municipal and school board elections, the Grand Erie District School Board decided (after much debate in town) to renovate and expand the existing structure rather than build a brand new high school in an undeveloped area on the far south western edge of Brantford.
In February of this year, after an "in camera" meeting, the Grand Erie board suddenly reversed its position and is now determined to move forward with a new school and abandon the old location. This reversal is not supported by examination of the costs, demographics or environmental impact.
NOTE: If you have already signed the paper petition, please do not sign the online petition. We do not want names duplicated on both petitions.
