2. Limit Number of Terms that Members of Senate and House of Representatives can Serve

The members of Congress are supposed to represent the people. However, their terms should be limited to 2 terms just as the President's term is limited because if they make a career out of politics, they lose objectivity about who they are there to represent.

They get too involved in the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" mentality and only do what benefits them. Therefore, the American people suffer.

4. Arrest Our Elected Members of Congress for illegally not passing a budget

It is written in the US Constitution that Congress must pass a budget. No budget has been passed in over 4 years.

Clearly Illegal.

5. Place a National Debt clock in the US House Chamber

The National Debt is well over 16 trillion dollars and climbing faster than it ever has. Currently every citizen owes $52,164. Every taxpayer currently owes $145.667. In April of 2011, Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) introduced a resolution that would place a clock measuring the U.S. debt in the House chamber as a "visual gesture" that reminds members of the need to reduce spending.

"We are currently borrowing $58,000 per second," Reed said last week. "We borrow at least forty cents of each dollar we spend. That is unsustainable. The debt clock will be a distinct reminder that our national debt must always be our first consideration as we continue to spend money that we do not have."

It’s obvious that the resolution went nowhere. Members of congress (not all) feel that a clock would do no more than display to the country that they are patriotic. I strongly disagree and I feel this would be a conscious reminder of duty to the people of this great country.

There is a stirring wind of rebellion starting that all members of congress should be very fearful of.

6. Arm our Schools and Children Against Terror (ASCAT)

Since the tragedy’s at Columbine High School on April 20th of 1999, our nation has bared witness to more than it's rightful share of school shootings, massacres and terrorists acts.

The most recent of such attacks happened on December 14, 2012, at Sandy Hooks Elementary School in Newton, CT killing 20 six and seven year old children and six adults. Our children are not safe. This cannot be tolerated any longer in simple hopes of a better solution. Our children have the right to go to school and be safe from the tyranny of terrorists.

It is up to you Mr. President and our respected, elected officials to grant us the means necessary to better arm our schools and shield our beloved. This threat cannot be solved by written law to try and deter terror. Taking away guns leaves our children left to fate and that’s a risk parents are not willing to take. We want our schools armed.

ASCAT demands that every school have at least one armed Police or Military Officer on campus during school hours and extended activities after school hours. The following is a list of other demands we want to see enforced:

1. Five willing and evaluated teachers from every campus to undergo police and firearm training, licensed to carry a concealed firearm.
2. Required firearm training and carrying license for the principal of every school and have them armed on campus.
3. Gun safes in classrooms of participating teachers and principals office to restrain access by students.
4. Panic buttons placed in every classroom with a unique sound that can be delivered throughout the school and to police to alert of terrorists attacks.
5. Teacher & Staff anti-terrorists seminars and workshops.
6. Act and Respond panic drills for students.
7. Locks on classrooms with reinforced doors and glass.
8. Better front door security and reinforcements.
9. Secondary devices such as electric tasers for participating teachers and principal.
10. Secondary reinforced door access to student population.

This isn’t a battle that is going to end without a fight. For the safety of our children and our educators we must arm our schools. It is just a matter of time before this happens again and when it does we must be ready.

You can’t stop a terrorist from attempting an attack, but you can stand up against them when the attack is made.

7. Referendum for Term Limits in Congress

The Party not in power always talks about term limits, but once in power they do NOTHING towards this much-needed change in DC.

If Congress won't do the right thing, we should have a national referendum on the next national elections (mid-terms in 2014) to demand term limits (two terms) in both the House of Representatives and the Senate be added as a Constitutional Amendment.

9. Support Congressional Term Limits

Congressmen have abused the fact that they can focus more on the topic of personal campaigning, in turn neglecting their legislative duties.

The following signatures represent citizens who are demanding the installation of congressional term limits in or bellow the amount of 5 (five) terms for the house of representatives, and 3 (three) or fewer terms for the senate.

10. Limit the Terms in Office for Congress and the Senate

Currently, congresspeople can be re-elected an unlimited number of times. This produces a large incentive for congresspeople to continually raise funds for their future re-election campaigns, which are VERY expense (in 2010, John McCain spent over $20-million dollars on his election campaign for the Senate).

As a result, many of our congresspeople do favors for special-interest groups in return for contributions to their re-election funds. This results in congresspeople representing special interest groups instead of their own constituents.

12. No Tax Raise & No New Taxes

As Americans we are already paying too much in tax. Our founding fathers argued that they did not want to put a ceiling on a 10% tax rate for citizens because a future Government might have the audacity to impose such a high rate.

History supports less intrusive Government, free enterprise, and less than a 10% tax rate for all.

13. Reform The Electoral College

The Electoral College was adopted when the population was not as large as it is today. I believe in the "Majority Rule". Thus removing the primary source of election of the President being majority. If the majority vote does not have a unanimous decision then proceed to the Electoral College. Doing so would ensure that every ones vote counts. Especially in states that are a majority one party.

When a state is a majority one party that party usually wins that state. Making citizens of that state that are not that party feel like their vote does not count. Removing the Electoral College would encourage more citizens to exercise their right to vote and have a larger turn out on election day. Please move forward on this issue as I am sure i'm not the only citizen that feels this way.

14. Abolish the Electoral College

We need to ABLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE! Not because Barack Obama won, but because it has happened 4 other times.

The Electoral College was good back in the day before there was television, radio and social media. People, then, elected others who were more informed to vote for them. This is now out-of-date because of technological advances making almost anyone more informed. This will force canidates to get in front of more rural communities than favoring more urban areas. Everyone else is voted in because of the popular vote; Why not the President!? This makes eveyone's voice count instead of them feeling like it doesn't!

JOIN ME IN SIGNING THIS PETITION TO ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE!

15. Outlaw Super Pacs in the US

The United States currently allows organizations to raise unlimited amounts of money through Super PACS to help support the election of political candidates.

This creates anonymity so we do not know who is supporting which candidate and allows supporters to run advertisements which may be untruthful and cannot be traced back to the individual or party running for office.

The individual or party running for office is not officially receiving funds but they benefit from donations and are ultimately tied to donors when they are elected.

This gives corporations an avenue to buy governmental favors. Donations may also be anonymous and voters cannot see who is donating to a particular campaign.

16. LET RON PAUL SPEAK

We the people of the United States of America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, are here together as one voice.

We stand together as Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals, Libertarians, and Freedom Fighters. We come together from all different beliefs, races, and sexes but we all believe in America. We stand together as friends, we stand together as family, and we stand together as a country.

We ask that you not let the voice of the American people die, and that you restore the belief in our people, so that our great nation may inspire the world all over again. We work as firemen, nurses, cab drivers, teachers, cops, cooks, and customer services representatives. We work at schools, restaurants, and hospitals. We work for the city, for the state, and for the country.

It is our understanding that Republican Presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul has achieved a plurality of delegates in a minimum of five states. We are asking as one voice that you make our republican convention fair by giving Dr. Ron Paul a speaking slot at the convention. The world has taken notice of this election.

Let us not become a joke to them, but rather an example of the integrity of our great nation. Let the convention showcase the two great leaders from our republican side, that one may emerge to contest Barack Obama. Let us showcase to the world, on the greatest of stages, what a republic looks like.

17. Petition for the Essential Reform of the American Congress

The Congress of America has and is failing to legislate effectively due to partisan politics, back door deals, corruption, and the entrenchment of incumbent representatives who are aided by unlimited money donations from special interest groups and Big Business. We have a government that is of the people, but no longer is it for the people.

The book: Throw Them All Out; by Peter Schweizer, published in 2011, clearly documents the corruption in the Congressional Ethics Committee.

The massive government deficit is in danger of destabilizing the entire global economy and for four years our representatives have done nothing.

18. Tell Speaker Boehner: Defund Obamacare Now!

A ‘Judas Moment’, that's what some are calling Justice John Roberts great betrayal of America’s trust when he cast his lot with the liberals to uphold Obamacare.

‘Ten pieces of silver’ or not, Robert’s ruling for Obamacare is a total disaster. It must be stopped!

Our elected leaders must reject Obamacare at every turn until the day voters plunge a wooden stake through the heart of this unconstitutional monstrosity.

We appreciate Speaker Boehner's willingness to vote again on the full repeal of ObamaCare. But there is more we can do in Congress. It's called Defund Obamacare, and it won't cost the taxpayers a penny!

In Federalist No. 58, James Madison wrote that the “power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon ... for obtaining a redress of every grievance…”

19. Withdraw all Western Troops from Afghanistan

The war in Afghanistan costs thousands of lives and trillions of dollars in defense of a corrupt and unpopular regime, one that is entirely dependent on Western troops and aid.

21. STOP CONGRESS'S AUTHORITY OF APPROVING ITS OWN BENEFITS

Congress has now voted itself a total of $16,700 in raises over the last six years. Since 1990, congressional pay has increased from $98,400 to $154,700 in 2003.

"Members of Congress have the only job in the country whose occupants can set their own salary without regard to performance, profit, or economic climate," said Tom Schatz, president of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste in a press release. "Clearly, members must think that money grows on trees.

"This underserved pay raise is no surprise, as the 108th Congress has shown a voracious appetite for spending," Schatz concluded. "It goes to show how out of touch with reality politicians can be. They forget that their salaries are paid by taxpayers. Americans are being forced to tighten their belts—if they even have a job—yet members of Congress will have an extra $3,400 to do with as they please.

Please let congress know by signing the petition that this is UNACCEPTABLE AND WE WILL NOT LET OUR PRIVACY BE INVADED!

23. Tests For Persian Gulf Illness Veterans

Do you care about veterans and would like to help many in some small way?

Signing this petition is that WAY you can do just that!
New tests PROVE injury to Persian Gulf Illness Veterans.

A brain scan reported Sep 15 2011 to show brain injury in PGI Vets. A SKY blood test shows chromosome damage in PGI Vets. Yet the CDC which VA follows, has now limited how many symptoms PGI Vets are actually related to PG Illness.

You can go to the website link and see many articles or videos about this subject. Please do! You can show some support and encouragement for PGI Vets that visit that page also! Please do! It is visited by PGI Vets globally.

So with the new tests available, PGI Vets can have their injury rated for compensation and move for treatment research for such injury. Any money now given for research to PGI is only going to be on what symptoms are being recognized as related to PGI.

This is why PGI Vets should have the new tests done. Please sign this petition and share with others to tell the legislature to pass a law for PGI Vets to be tested with the new tests. Thank you for your support! PLEASE share this petition with others!

25. Democratic Restoration Act: - Convicted felons have the right to vote

By denying people who have felonies the right to participate in voting is discriminating and undemocratic. The bill to withhold these rights was created during the Jim Crow era. With the purpose of barring African Americans the right to vote. These laws are still impacting today's society.

Seven times the national average is African Americans who cannot vote due to felony convictions. Pass the Democratic Restoration Act now so the people who are convicted of felonies can vote by the 2012 Presidential Election.

27. Keep Horse Slaughter Illegal In America

I'm going to make this short, sweet, and too the point. As you may or may not know, Obama quietly signed a bill to allow horse slaughter in America again.

Not only do I not believe in the brutal, inhumane ways of horse slaughter, I do not believe in the consumption of their meat. The horse slaughter plants will be opening again in about a month, or less. For those of you who don't know how a horse is slaughtered - it's not pretty, no mercy is shown to the horses.

Look it up on youtube.com to see for yourself. Simply signing this will not harm you in any way so even if horses are not your favorite animal - why not sign it? Also, don't think "what about cow slaughter?" I'm not saying that's okay, but this is here, for the horses. So, please sign this to save the horses where - yes, there are better endings for them rather than a brutal slaughter.

30. Petition to Impeach

Dear Speaker Boehner and Leader McConnell,

President Obama’s jobs plan would put millions of Americans back to work–unless you hold those jobs hostage.

Ending Medicare as we know it and privatizing Social Security would hurt America. And so did the effort by members of your caucuses to demand those things in ORDER TO PREVENT THE U.S. FROM DEFAULTING ON ITS OBLIGATIONS.

We need jobs, not more hostage-taking. And we won’t stand for another effort to block progress unless you get your way on Medicare and Social Security.

If you don’t agree with the President, propose a plan that will actually create real jobs. But we won’t let you hold these jobs hostage.

Sincerely,
