1. Abolish FCC Censorship Regulation
"The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC's jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions."
The above is taken from the FCC's government website.
The FCC was originally used to monitor radio and television signals. We believe it has outgrown that and began it's catering toward special interest groups such as the Parents Television Council.
The PTC was founded by L. Brent Bozell III in 1995 in response to negative criticism towards the significant increase of sex, violence and profanity on primetime television.
We believe that FCC censorship has outlived it's purpose and call on parents to take action if you want to see freedom of speech thrive.
2. Stop Cell Towers in Residential Areas
An application to the city of Windham, NH has been submitted to construct a 150 foot Cell Tower in a residential neighborhood.
The perceived reduction in property values, as well as health concerns to just children living and playing near the tower need to be reviewed.
Please join us in our fight against Verizon Wireless and the Land Owner constructing intrusive towers that will forever change the landscape of Windham, NH.
3. Keep Ocoee 911 Services in Ocoee
The City of Ocoee plans on voting on August 18th at 7:15pm to move Ocoee's 911 services from Ocoee to Apopka. The move would take place no later than October 2009. Many residents foresee and fear problems will arise, including response time, which will suffer. This is what the city's own website says about the Communications department:
Mission
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our citizens.
Services
The Communications Section is the primary coordinating support for the Ocoee Police Department. The Communications Section is the Public Safety Answering Point for all 9-1-1 calls within the City of Ocoee, providing our citizens and visitors with coordination and response for Police, Fire and Medical emergencies.
With highly-trained professional telecommunications officers, a sophisticated Computer Aided Dispatch System and an advance radio communications system, this section provides for all dispatching and status management for all Police units and personnel.
The Communications Section works in close partnership with neighboring municipalities and county agencies to ensure accurate, rapid, and professional public safety services to the citizens of Ocoee.
4. Stop Newpath Networks LLC from installing a wireless facility in our neighborhood
Newpath Network LLC is making a proposal to erect a wireless communications facility, on the West side of N 112th Place at East Jenan Drive. The pre-application is going through the approval process and final plans have yet to be approved by the City of Scottsdale.
Why you will be affected:
• Recent studies indicate that people who live near cell phone or microwave towers have higher rates of cancer.
• Studies of people who live next to microwave towers indicate they suffer from headaches, insomnia, fatigue, nausea, dizziness.
• The tower may decrease your home’s property value.
5. Waterford Emergency Communications Center / AFSCME Council 4
The 9-1-1 Dispatchers of the Waterford Emergency Communications Center have taken action to form with AFSCME Council 4.
Although the State Labor Department has recognized that we have a significant majority of signatures on our intent card; and we had half of our department present for the hearing for formation we were denied voluntary recognition as a union.
Radio For All Australians. WHAT IS RADIO FOR ALL AUSTRALIANS?
RFAA is a dedicated and committed Association Bringing Words to Life for everyone throughout Australia. Broadcasting facility we hope the Federal Government will run a radio station like the ABC transmitted across the whole of Australia. In what state this station transmits from? We don’t care. ABC 2 should have taken this problem on.
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS RADIO STATION?
Many people who suffer from the following:
Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Illiterate, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Injury causing Quadriplegia, Multiple Sclerosis, Leukodystrophy, Brain Injury, Hemiplegic, Motor Neuron Disease, Spinal Bifida, Amputees, Alzheimer's Disease, Downs Syndrome, Parkinson’s Disease, Emeritus, Cataracts, Cancer, Glaucoma.
Remember that at any given time this could include YOU.
DO WE HAVE RADIO STATIONS FOR THE PRINT DISABLED? NO
That is why we are striving to cover Queensland and eventually all of Australia.
WHY IS THIS TYPE OF RADIO STATION ESSENTIAL?
We have in excess of 9 million Print Disabled people in Australia. Present day Radio is not suitable for every persons needs. RFAA’s programming will have National & Local news, births, deaths and marriages read, old and new plays. Self help issues, community awareness, current affair programs, serials, and tourism. Also there are many educational programs that they could benefit from in assisting these people to cope with everyday life.
It would be of immense benefit for the people living in the remote outback Australia, the entire network of Australian Prisons. Bearing in mind many prisoners are incarcerated by the mere fact of their illiteracy. Benefit also passing to the huge amount of aged people & invalids in Nursing Homes & Hospital system nation wide. Our program will provide a unique listening opportunity for people with Print difficulties and information for their Carers. The list is far to long and complex to include in this flyer.
HOW WILL THIS STATION BENEFIT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY?
RFAA will provide a vital link for people and services in any community. It will improve your quality of life by Bringing words to life. No matter where you live or are holidaying in Australia you will be able to tune into RFAA. Other benefits would be employment in all areas of Radio.
DOES RFAA HAVE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT?
YES it does. 90% of Federal and State Parliamentarians and Local Councils throughout Australia support RFAA’S concept.
DOES RFAA RECEIVE FUNDING GRANTS OR FINANCIAL SUPPORT?
We have received a few small donations from Members and annual subscriptions. So far we have missed out on all grants. We rely heavily on the pockets of the Management committee for funding for RFAA and we will continue to press for grants and financial support to get our Radio Station up and running.

RADIO FOR ALL AUSTRALIANS
Perhaps one day I’ll see no more than blurs of light and dark.
And want to read this page you see of alphabet and marks.
But will I have a friend nearby who’s happy to impart the written information I may need to soothe my heart?
Until they teach the guide dogs how to talk and read as well, I know a sense of helplessness should trap me in its shell.
And would I be alone in this debilitating plight, when so many Australians can neither read nor write?
So tell me stories, topics too and interest programmes And please provide a Radio Station For All Australians.
Bringing Words To Life
You may need it tomorrow
Do you know there are 8 million Australians and increasing daily who lack the advantages of the value of the written word.
Radio for all Australians Inc. was established by a group of enthusiastic people dedicated to bringing the joys of the written word, which can be shared by all.
The concept is to establish a National Radio Station that will provide a primarily talking format to fill the present void. Creating Theatre of the Mind to bridge the gap of isolation that these people feel.
Radio for all Australians

7. Cox Communications Banned KTAL and NBC from our cable network
On January 31st, Cox Communications customers in The Ark-La-Tex will lose access to KTAL and NBC programming at midnight. The retransmission agreement with Cox Communications for all their cable systems in our viewing area will expire (Bossier City, LA; Magnolia, AR; Minden, LA; Mount Pleasant, TX; Wright City, OK; Valiant, OK), and they have been unable to come to terms with our cable company for the continued carriage of KTAL's station.
They are asking Cox Communications to pay them 25 cents out of the extremely expensive cable bill that we pay every month and Cox is unwilling to do so and has decided to no longer carry KTAL.
Cox Communications is one of the most powerful media companies in the United States who not only owns cable System but also Radio Stations, Newspapers and local TV Stations like KTAL. Ironically, their broadcast Television division shares our viewpoint about being compensated for carriage by cable companies.
Cox Communications, like all cable and satellite companies, makes payments to the companies that own and operate programming networks. They pay the owners of the programming channels monthly fees, ranging as high as several dollars per month for the right to carry the programming. Cox Communications has made it very clear they do not want to pay any fees for the rights to carry KTAL.
8. Bring TechTV Back To Toms River
In the October cable bills, Comcast sent out a notice. Changes to the channel lineup were coming. Among them, TechTV would be removed on December 31, 2001 to make room for The Inspiration Network. Calls to Comcast were fruitless, they did not want to listen to their customers, and on December 27, 2001 (four days early), TechTV was removed from the Toms River lineup.
Please sign this petition which will be sent to both Comcast of Toms River (delivered by hand) and TechTV (sent by mail).
Please be sure to include your ADDRESS on the petition. Although these fields are listed as optional, please be sure to fill them in to prove you are a Comcast customer in their Toms River service area.
9. Save TechTV
With the October cable bills came a letter from Comcast. TechTV will be dropped on December 31, 2001 in favor of the Inspiration Network. Comcast acted early, and TechTV was removed from the lineup on December 27, 2001. We, the geeks of Toms River, want it back!
10. Restore WZTO-FM 101.1 "The One" to Nashville Radio
On Friday, October 12th 2001, Clear Channel Radio, without warning or advance notification, pulled the plug on contemporary Christian radio station WZTO 101.1 FM and replaced it with a non-Christian urban hip-hop format under the call letters of WUBT.
WZTO met a strong need in the Nashville area to minister to Christians age 25-40 through faith-based music and a message of hope. We hope through this petition to encourage Clear Channel Communications to restore WZTO-FM to the airwaves.
11. Protect Televised Religion Shows ( Touched by an Angel etc.)
Athiest, Madeline Murray O'Hare, eliminated prayer and bible readings from public schools 15 years ago. Her organization has recieved a Federal hearing by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission)in Washington, DC. This petition, which includes 287,000 signatures, would start a new path to "destruction" for the rights of Christians. Her petition, #2493, is an effort to stop Gospel readings on the airwaves in the USA. If they win this petition, Christmas programs will be eliminated from television and radio. TV shows such as Touched by an Angel will have to cancel. Together, we can stop this from happening. We are hoping for one million signatures. If we do this, we can prove to Madeline Murray O'Hare and her organization that we Christians are still here and that we are not going to back down. Please sign our petition as a single person, not jointly. Stand up for your religious freedom. Together we can make the difference.
