61. Parents Supporting Our Innovative WES Teachers
Three teachers from WES have expressed their desire to request a transfer. These innovative, talented, and energetic teachers are Jennifer Carhart, Janice Martin and Stacey Robichaud. Two of these teachers have had to take on a challenging year of a 3/4 French Immersion MAC class. Even though the MAC class has been proven this year to be very successful, these teachers have felt very little support and appreciation for their hard work and innovation.
In addition to wonderful in class teaching, these teachers are also the foundation for many of the great extra curricular programs at WES including noon hour activities, 100 day celebrations, French week, math club, math days and many others. Most parents can attest to the fact that these are three wonderful, fun and effective teachers - teachers that all kids love and look up to.. Please sign this petition, and make sure they know how much we truly appreciate them!! Please note that there is a discussion board, where you can post your words of support. Thank you.
62. Parents Supporting Our Innovative WES Teachers
Three teachers from WES have put in for transfer. These innovative, talented, and energetic teachers are Jennifer Carhart, Janice Martin and Stacey Robichaud. Two of these teachers have had to take on a challenging year of a 3/4 MAC class. Instead of just trying to keep up with the workload they've pushed the envelope implementing many new and innovative teaching methods and programs. Unfortunately, after having to deal all year with repetitive complaints from an select few and sensing a general lack of support for their innovative methods, these teachers feel alone in their cause and unappreciated.
These teachers are the foundation for many of the great programs at WES including noon hour activities, 100 day celebrations, french week, math club, math days and many others. Many parents can attest to the fact that these are three great teachers - teachers that their kids love and look up to. Let's make sure they know how much we truly appreciate them. Please sign this petition and if you wish please also post written words of support on the discussion board.
63. Retain Coatesville Highway Safety class at Coatesville High School

64. Protect Society--Teach gender roles at school!
Society today is weakened by the lack of gender roles. We must start teaching our children these roles. We must show girls that a woman's main role is keeper at home--a homemaker, and the man is the breadwinner.
I am calling for three things:
1. Universal Home Economics class--as a required course for high school and middle school for girls.
2. More strict dress codes at school--Thighs must be covered, and girls must wear skirts or dresses.
3. Gender-segregated physical education classes--to preserve the modesty of our children.
These things need to happen. We must create a strong future for America. We must reinstate these gender roles to make sure America does not continue to fail.
65. Reconsider Florida's Amendment 9
In Florida's general election of 2002, Amendment 9 - Florida's Amendment to Reduce Class Sizes was passed. It is to my concern, however, that the general public was not aware of the effect this amendment would have on the public schools in Florida. Public schools lack the money and personnel needed to reduce class sizes by the year 2010.
66. Remove Folly School Rule at Pawling Middle School
People are being made late for class because in our school, you can only use one hallway and one staircase. Three lates equals a detention and maybe suspension. This is unfair and I have suffered at least 6 detentions for this 1 reason.
67. Allow flip flops
Flip flops are not allowed at Plant City High School!
Platform and high heels are!
68. Create Harsher Hazing Laws In USA
A petition to redefine the Virginia Law of Hazing, from a misdemeanor Class A to a higher class, or felony.
69. Stop the BNP and NF in the UK
The British National Party and the National Front have been gaining support recently. We must ally against these thugs in suits. They do not represent the working class. Their policy is similar to that of Hitler, who also claimed to represent the working class, yet stopped the trade unions and took away the workers voice. We must now do something about the Nazis, apathy is the real danger.
70. Stop the proposed demolition of Queen Mary's College, Chennai
It has recently come to our attention that the Government of TamilNadu is proposing to demolish the buildings housing Queen Mary's College, Chennai. We are alarmed at this possible action.
"There is nothing that solidifies and strengthens a Nation like reading the Nation's history, whether that History is recorded in books or embodied in customs, institutions and monuments" (J.Anderson)
The Queen Mary's College, Chennai is both an institution and a monument. Set up in 1914, it was the first women's college in Chennai and the second in the South. A rich educational tradition and the experience of
a long history define the institution that is Queen Mary's College. Several of the college buildings including Pentland House (1915), Stone House (1918) and Jeypore House (1921) are vintage monuments and have
been declared as heritage buildings by the Heritage Committee of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority. This educational institution with its striking architecture has been one of the proud
landmarks of Chennai, helping define and continuing to contribute to the personality of the city. It is soon to celebrate its centenary in befitting manner.
Many of the buildings have been recently renovated and equipped with modern facilities with the help of a grant from the Department of Education. An effort by the alumnae has been underway to raise contributions to the 'building fund' set up to restore earlier buildings requiring more extensive repair and reconstruction. Plans
have been drawn for proposed improvements and are currently in the implementation stage.
It is therefore with great shock and dismay that we recently learnt of the plans of the Government to pull down this prestigious college and replace it with a Secretariat building.
Queen Mary's College is located on the Marina in an atmosphere conducive to learning, and offers education of the highest standard to more than 4000 students. The College is rooted in a strong sense of
responsibility to its surrounding community. It is committed to providing educational opportunities for students from less-privileged backgrounds to realize their potential. Today, most of the students
hail from lower middle class and labour class families, many of them first generation students. The 25 degree courses offered are a constantly evolving mix of the traditional and the unorthodox, tailored
to meet the unique needs of the community it serves. Always a pioneer in educational circles, Queen Mary's College has been the one of first to offer rare courses including physical education, three Home Science
Degrees, Tourism and Travel Management, Music and Functional English.
One of the best ways to preserve a country's heritage and pay tribute to its history is to maintain and restore ancient buildings, to retain a legacy for future generations to understand the country's great and
glorious cultural richness. We fear that the Government's proposed move to demolish Queen Mary's College lacks vision in this regard. The move will only serve to erode social, and educational values that have been
built over decades and deprive deserving lower middle class female students of an immensely valuable college education that uplifts and empowers.
71. Complaint about Math Teaching at McNair school
This petition is directed to the Mathew McNair Secondary School of Richmond. This petition is a complaint about Mr.Campbell's teaching at McNair school.
72. Yes to Teacher's Free Speach!
A literature teacher from Pepperell High School, who takes modern events and compares them with English literature has been told he can no longer do that. It has been said that because of recent events that his political views could be offensive. I am a student of his class and highly disagree with this statement. Although he tells us what he believes he has never asked us to accept these beliefs ourselves. I think by gagging him on this it is binding our ability to learn. I myself have learned more in this class than the rest of my High School career, and the rest of my class is in agreeance with me. I feel that if we stand by and let this be done the next thing we know our free speech will be gone. I will greatly appreciate your support in this matter. Thank you for your time.
The graduating class of 2003 of the School of Nursing- S.I. would like to add to our school catalog the Cap as part of the official graduation uniform to be owrkn for graduation cermonies only.
74. Make PE Optional
Every day, millions of kids across the country are forced to participate in gym class activities that are both possibly dangerous and always embarrassing. I have seen children get up in front of half the school and be forced to try and make a basket, but they miss and get booed off court because they aren't "athletically coordinated." Students should be given the option of what to do during gym class, but not sitting around. Possibly maybe a choice of baseball, volleyball, or dancing. It's not fair for students to be forced to squaredance or anything like that. So, please sign and help us get more options!!
75. Get the french classes back at Bear River
Many students feel they have a right to choose a language to take when they go to high school, but here at Bear River we have no other choice but Spanish. Though many students signed up for the French 1 class the administration did not want to offer it.
I am a Spanish 1 student now and was one of the many who did sign up for the class. I, and many of my friends were outraged to hear they cancelled the class. We do not have an interest in Spanish. I, as with many others, feel they cannot learn what they are not interested in in the first place. Back to the point, we all should have a choice in foreign language so we can broaden our horizens. thank you very much.
76. Stop requiring swim class for graduation at Burrell High School
A student attending Burrell High School, in Lower Burrell, PA, is required to attend and pass four semesters of "Swimming" for graduation. The class is designed to teach students several swimming techniques, strokes, and styles, as well as touch on survival information. The class presents this information well, but most students either already have this knowledge, or do not wish to learn to swim; as they would have taken it upon themselves to do it. Furthermore, the same material is presented over and over-again in each class, taken once per-year, and the final exam required to pass is nothing more than swimming lengths for an entire class, 24 for seniors. It is my personal opinion that this class should become an elective, and not a requirement for graduation; or at minimum, lower the requirement down to a single semester.
77. Florida's Amendment to Reduce Class Size - REDUCE CLASS SIZE NOW!
REDUCE CLASS SIZE NOW! SIGN PETITION FOR BETTER EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA!
78. Ban Mr. Nerge From Jefferson
Anyone who goes to Jefferson Middle and has been in Mr. Nerge's band class/keyboard class knows the unstable state. We want another teacher.
79. Cut ties with Northern Ireland now
Most people in the island of Britain want the north of Ireland to be reunited with the 26 counties.
This has been the case for over 30 years. The continuing governance over 6 Irish counties has cost the people of England, Scotland and Wales many lives, civilian and military, billions of pounds of taxes which would be better spent on education, health and welfare, and tarnished the name of these countries across the world.
We call for citizens of Britain to demand that 'northern Ireland' be reunited with the rest of Ireland, and allow the Irish people to follow their own path of self-determination.
We disown the activities of so-called 'loyalists' as being petty, backward and selfish. The activities of 'unionist' MPs throughout the 1980s in supporting the activities of the Thatcher government led to untold hardships in working class communities on this island.
We say end the 'link' now.
In the past years we had 5 minutes in between classes to get our books and go to our next class. This year we have 3 minutes. They expect us to carry our books for the next class with us plus the books we have for our class before. We cant put our books in our bags because we have to keep them in our locker.
