1. Ensure children's safety to and from school 
My son will be attending Central Junior High in the fall of this year and we live almost a mile from the school. Right now I drop him off at before care at school in the mornings before going to work and his dad pick him up in after care around 3:30 or 4pm.
I was told by the superintendant that CJH does not have a program like that in place and can not open their doors before 8:20am. I have to be at work by 8:30 and I work in downtown Chicago so I take the train to work. I have asked several times can something be done, even suggested that they make it a fee base. To no avail nothing is in place yet or in the works.
I just want to ensure my son get to school on time and safe. There is too much happening to our children these days to just stick your heads in the sand and say well nothing has happen so far in EP. There are at least 10 registered sex offenders in EP. The walk from my home to CJH is a long walk, and a kid walking alone is like a play ground for a sick, troubled person who want to cause harm to an innocent child. I was told I am the only parent in EP with this concern.
Please help me make a difference by signing this petition so that our children can be safe and working parents can go to work with a peace of mind that their child is safe at school.
2. Longstone Road, Moneydarragh Primary School Road Safety Petition
For a number of years now local residents, concerned parents and local & national elected officials have been requesting DRD NI/Roads Service take action and make safe a short stretch of the Longstone Road in Annalong Co.Down leading to Moneydarragh Primary School.
Having recently returned to the the area where I grew up I was delighted to be sending my son the the local primary school I attended 30 years ago. The school is a mere 3-4 mins walk from our new home along a scenic country road but there is no footpath to allow safe travel and we are forced to walk on the actual road surface where cars pass at speed with a speed limit in place of 60Mph!
I approached the local District office for Roads Service NI and requested they trim and maintain the road side verges and bushes therein to at least allow pedestrians to use the amble space available to make the short journey to the school safely AND to allow approaching traffic a full unobstructed view of the road in both directions for both their own safety and the pedestrians.
To date Roads Service NI have refused to carry out this simple task and having lobbied several members of the local department responsible as well as local elected council members, NI Assembly members and even MP Roads Service still to date have refused to carry out the work requested. Other factors that need to be addressed beyond the simple upkeep of this short stretch of road are the urgent requirement for a footpath and speed restrictions and traffic calming measures to ensure the maximum possible safety of all road users be they pedestrians or drivers.
With this in mind please sign this petition - we have yet another site meeting with roads service scheduled of May 17th 2013 and I want to present them with this petition to pressure them into taking immediate action.
3. Install Carbon Monoxide Detectors in ALL Georgia Schools
A potentially deadly leak at Finch elementary in Atlanta sent nearly 50 teachers and students to the hospital.
Georgia is NOT required to have Carbon Monoxide Detectors in K-12 schools.
4. Certificates of safety for playgrounds open to public
Hi,
My name is Yolandi Enslin, my son Ruan was 5.
He was electrocuted by a jumping castle motor on 20 October 2012 at Stonehaven on the Vaal.
My son was declared dead at the scene.
I don't want my son's death to be in vain, instead I would like to make parents more aware of the dangers of public playgrounds.
Every restaurant/lodge etc has to have a liquor license, a license to play music and to show the rugby etc, they have to have certificates for everything but why not a certificate to say that their playgrounds are safe???
Our children's lives are worth that effort and I think that it should be part of the law, just like getting a liquor license etc
We need parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, anyone who believes that our children's safety is worth fighting for to please sign this petition.
We want to take it further but the Government needs to know that we are supported and know that there are a lot of people who understand and support our cause.

5. Implement and Enforce Child Safety Programs in Georgia School Bus Transportation
Georgia leads the NATION in child-fatalities related to school bus loading/unloading zones.

1. GA Law requires fewer qualifications, less training and certification of local school system Directors of Transportation than that of a School Bus Driver.
2. GA Local school system Directors of Transportation are not required to implement "Best Practice" safety recommendations and GA Code has no clear enforcement and consequence policy.
3. Local school system Superintendents and Boards of Education do not consistently follow ethical or recommended best practices in dealing with student discipline and school system employee personnel matters - making decisions without analysis, discussion or review of factual data and onboard camera recordings of actual events.
4. The State-level school bus inspection process and requirements of school bus safety equipment (i.e., air brakes, safety lighting and entry/exit points) is of concern. Local School systems do not adhere to a consistent inspection-reporting process, which is readily available to the public for review.
5. Published articles indicate there is evidence of School Bus Drivers who fear retaliation (i.e., loss of job) if they report bus-related issues regarding safety or mechanical problems. If a school bus driver is fearful to report an unsafe condition - this has a DIRECT impact on the safety of children and the school bus driver.
6. Georgia does not have or enforce a state-level review & approval process to ensure School Bus stops (loading/unloading) zones are SAFE for our children - minimizing street crossings and potential for child injuries/deaths.

I have cared for my 5 grandchildren for 12 years with very little help from the state for the children that were in my care.

8. Australia Needs Type D Rear-Facing Toddler Car-Seats
Research around the world has proven that sitting in a rear-facing position in the car is five times safer for children under the age of 4 than sitting in a forward-facing position. Young children have heavy heads that are large in proportion to their bodies. The bones in their neck are still soft and under-developed.
If a young child is sitting forward-facing during a frontal collision, their head is thrown violently forward on impact, putting all the force of the crash onto their delicate necks. This puts them at risk of sustaining spinal injuries.
Sitting rear-facing in the car protects young children from spinal injuries in a frontal collision. The back of the car-seat cradles their head, neck and back. The back of the seat takes up the force of the collision, NOT the child’s neck. Their head is cushioned by the back of the seat and not thrown forward.
Australia has the highest standards of crash-testing child-restraints in the world, HOWEVER we have the earliest age of forward-facing our babies in the developed world at just 6 months of age. In the U.S. experts recommend babies remain rear-facing until age 2. In Sweden, children are kept rear-facing until age 4. Seats that can accommodate larger children rear-facing are readily available overseas.
The Australian Road Rules and the Australian Child Restraint Standards both allow for children to remain rear-facing until the age of 4. However, Australian child restraint manufacturers are not making these seats available in Australia because they feel there is no market for them in Australia.
Australian children deserve the same level of protection as their overseas cousins. Our children deserve the best possible protection in a crash. Let’s build upon our high safety standards to keep our kids even safer than ever before.

9. Help us to reinstate the Cross St Crossing
Northampton County Council has withdrawn the school crossing patrol for Moulton Primary and Secondary schools due to 'government cuts'.
Please don't put children's lives at risk. Give us our lollipop lady back!
Many toys contain synthetic substances, which are known to be hazardous to children’s health. These include softeners used in plastic toys, which can disrupt the hormone system, formaldehyde used in glued wooden puzzles, which can cause cancer, or flame retardants in teddy bears that can be toxic to development.
The EU-wide Toys Directive and the European chemicals legislation, REACH, do not sufficiently protect our children because many hazardous chemicals are still allowed. Also, toy manufacturers are not required to list the chemicals used in the making of the toy, even if hazardous chemicals are present.
we were horrified to discover that Amazon were selling a book called 'The Paedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct.'
After campaigning on Twitter with other websites, bloggers and tweeters the book was removed from the store.
However, we need to stop this EVER happening again.

12. Lil Marks Fight for Fencing Retention Ponds
Mark D. Moore, Jr 3 1/2yrs old from St Johns County Florida died in an unfenced retention pond. A little boy in Palatka, Florida also lost his life 10/29/2010 also in an unfenced retention pond at a park. The retention pond Mark died in was right outside his front door.
13. Our Children's Safety Matters To Us: Stop the Banning of Strollers on Busses
The City of Ottawa and it's Counsellors, as well as the OC Transpo Safety Committee are going to re-visit the issue of strollers on city busses. They want to ban the use of all strollers, except Umbrella strollers on busses. A parent with a child or children would have to fold their stroller, hold their child and bags and belongings.
They have already turned this issue down once in November of 2009 and are now going back and re-visiting it.
14. Proposed walking route to school is unsafe

Parents of the children concerned have today (12/3/09) received a letter from the Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People at West Berkshire Council:
"Elected Members have reviewed this decision... we have listened to local concerns about seasonal conditions and other factors"
"In the light of this evidence I have decided to overrule the recent decision to withdraw the transport"
I am sure the support for our campaign offered through this petition made a significant contribution to the decision to reverse their decision.

West Berkshire Council have decided to withdraw the existing free bus service that takes children aged 11-16 from East Ilsley to The Downs School at Compton on the grounds that they have identified an alternative ‘Safe Walking Route’. This is to take effect from 1st April 2009.
The parents of the children concerned do not believe this to be a safe route for children to walk, even if accompanied by an adult.
The proposed 'safe walking route' requires the children to walk 3 miles each way to and from school every day. The route includes several sections of road where there are no pavements and long sections of 'cross-country', unsurfaced, uneven and unlit byways, open to all traffic, which are remote from civilisation. Throughout the winter, the children will need to walk much of the route in the dark.
15. Lead Testing for Schools, Daycare Centers, and Playgrounds
On August 14, 2008, Congress enacted the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), Public Law 110–314, 122 Stat. 3016, which puts into place restrictions on the amount of lead that can be present in products designed or intended primarily for children Under 12 years of age.
This law applies to manufacturers and retailers of products intended for children. However, the law does not apply to schools, daycare centers, and playgrounds.
16. Investigate the safety and well being of the McCann children
On Thursday the 3rd May 2007, three very young children where left alone in an apartment whilst their parents went out to dine. As a consequence of these actions, 4 year old Madeleine McCann was allegedly "taken" from the unlocked apartment in which she had been left, leading to a worldwide campaign by the McCann family to locate their daughter.
From the onset many, many people around the world have been disturbed by the fact that three young children were left unattended in this way and that such actions were invariably being condoned or overlooked by the British authorities for reasons known only to themselves.
We would like to urge Leicestershire Social Services to:
a) Fully investigate the matter of the neglect of all three children whilst the parents went out to dine whilst holidaying in Portugal.
b) Fully investigate the matter in light of the fact that the parents have now been named as formal suspects in the disappearance of their daughter.
17. Block OnLine Porn from Minors
There is a growing problem in this country which stems from online pornographic sites. There are increased cases of children sexual attacking other children after viewing pornographic material. Children as young as 5 are being affected.
We are not asking for these sites to be removed or censored. We are asking that access to these be restricted to adults only. Far too many sites require no age verification, and display graphic images and videos on their home pages.
Society attempts to protect minors from the dangers of smoking and alchohal by limiting their access to these items. We are suggesting the same types of safeguards be put in place to protect the children from Porn.
18. Criminalize Online Pedophile Websites
Concerning Lindsay Ashford's pro-pedophile web site puellula (www.puellula.com www.puellula.org) and other pro=pedophile websites like it.
"Note:it has come to my attention via media that a webhosting company, EPIFORA, out of Montreal Quebec, is host to sites for pedophiles, and is the known hosting company for an Admitted American pedophile by the name of Jack McClellan, where he lists public events where little girls are known to attend, taking pictures of these young girls without parental consent and posting them on his website; his site was taken down by Network Solutions while he resided in Washington state and is now up again,and EPIFORA being the new hosting company of his re-launched site will be another focus of this petition."

Any Human with a heart and a mind can see that this is a veiled attempt by a pedophile to seduce young children into having sex with adults. This could result in the rape of a young child, child molestation, child abuse, At the very least, it is a threat to our children and it should not be taken lightly or hidden behind free speech!
Sites such as these affect young children world wide and passes international boundaries and the potential to harm millions of children world wide. This is a crime against Humanity! A Crime against the most innocent sector of our world society.
