1. Bring Back Nick Jonas in HTSIB for Summer 2012!
I've read many stories online (Twitter and Tumblr etc.) of fans who were truly disappointed that How To Succeed In Business was cut short and only running until May 20th. Many of us, including my friends and I had already booked our trips to NYC, or like I've read other fans had plans on going during the summer.
We assume that the show would gain a bigger audience during the summer due to the fact that school is out and people are traveling!
Thank You for your support!
2. Petition to stop the cockatoo cull at Broadway
The proposal by the Sydney Campus Apartments to shoot sulphur crested cockatoos in order to prevent further damage to their building is unethical, unsafe and doomed to failure.
Two of these beautiful, intelligent, long lived birds have already been shot under licence from the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in the name of protecting building facades, yet this has not solved the problem. In only a matter of months another bird has moved into the area and started damaging the building, prompting a new request for a culling licence.
If this bird is shot, what’s to stop more coming along? Will these be shot too? When will it end?
3. Get Legally Blonde the Musical on DVD
Legally Blonde was a 2001 hit movie starring reese witherspoon who played elle.
The film had a sequel and later on became a hit musical with laura bell bundy, and orfeh.
The musical is closing soon on Broadway and a tour kicked off, and this musical will never be forgotten.
4. Stephanie J. Block For Elphaba In The Movie Version Of Wicked
For All Of Those Who Think Stephanie J. Block should perform the role of "Elphaba" in the movie version of the hit broadway musical "Wicked".
Idina Menzel, winner of a Tony Award and two Original Broadway Casts of two highly acclaimed shows, has many loyal fans in the UK.
However, she has never actually performed more than one concert here, and some of us have only recently discovered her music.
Also, most of us may never get to go to the USA to see her perform.
6. Repair rail crossings within the City of Idaho Falls
The Eastern Idaho railroad has allowed rail crossings to fall into a state of dangerous disrepair. The crossings cause damage to vehicles.
Drivers pay for alignment and tire repair. The crossings create a bad first impression for newcomers to Idaho Falls.
WATCO Companies and their Eastern Idaho Railroad should be good corporate citizens and repair ASAP high priority crossings.
The signers of this petition recognize and support the important role of rail transportation in the economy of Eastern Idaho. However, company profit should not be at the expense of local residents and daily drivers who must cope with the dangerous crossings.
RENT, one of the best musicals ever to hit Broadway, is closing after twelve successful years.
I think this is wrong, and I'm sure countless Rentheads around the world feel the same.
This is an appeal to keep RENT on the stage where it belongs.
8. Bring Broadway to Saint Louis
June 14, 2006
It seems that as far as Saint Louis goes, we have plenty of Musicals that come to us while on off Broadway tours, but we don't have any permanent shows here.
For example, Wicked now is showing permanently in Chicago. We need something similar to this.
9. Traffic Safety on Dutch Broadway in Elmont
For the need of a street light or a crossing guard at the intersection of Dutch Broadway and 238th Street, Elmont. Elmont Memorial High School student was struck by a car while crossing the street in a pedestrian crosswalk.
10. Reinstate Municipal Parking lot on 6th street between North and Broadway
The parking lot located on 6th street between North and Broadway, has been a municipal parking lot for 30 years. The city has leased this lot, collected parking monies and maintained this lot to provide parking for its downtown merchants and their patrons. In May of 2003, the city was informed that the lease would not be renewed. The city did nothing to try to keep the lot, which serves upward of a dozen local merchants in the immediate vicinity. We the undersigned of this petition request that the city take action to: 1) reinstate the lot as a municipal lot, either through legal action or negotiations, or 2) address the lack of parking by appointing monies to build/ develop municipal parking lots.
11. Help restore "Ren and Stimpy"!
The "Ren and Stimpy" show is an older cartoon show that is targeted at older teens. It began in the early nineties on the channel Nickelodeon. It has been aired on Nick, MTV, and now VH1. VH1 has seen fit to cut whole segments out of the show to make more time for commercials, and put pop-up banners on the screen almost constantly.
