1. Why Not An Event Centre and Church?
The former Gala Bingo Building in Camberwell has been bought by a business and a church. Prior to being a bingo hall it was a cinema. The new owners are looking to turn it into a community/event centre in order to preserve it in it's current state as much as possible (It is a listed building).
Some members of the local community have stuck on the "Church" and say the do not want a church! They want an arts centre. The council have explained that it is private property and therefore Gala can sell it to whom they please.
The Church want it to remain a community space but are being drowned out before they speak with comments like"we will do here what they did to KICC in Crystal Palace". We do not think that makes for just governance. Join us, lend your voice to our campaign.

3. Reform regulation of Bingo Games and Prizes
In the State of Illinois there are over 1,000 not for profit organizations that use the revenues generated by bingo games and pull tab sales to support their charitable endeavors. Since 1971, when bingo was legalized, the Department of Revenue has issued 4,004 Bingo Licenses.
When it all began prizes per bingo session could not exceed $2,250.00. No single game could have a prize over $500.00. Over the years these prize amounts have stayed the same, and non profit organizations have had to compete against casinos, internet gaming or the many new entertainment venues to keep their bingo customers. Many organizations could not meet the competition and closed their bingos.
The $2,250.00 prize money from 1971 is worth $11,528.78 in 2007 dollars. The $500.00 game limit is worth $2,573.95 today. In order to match these dollars many organizations began offering legal raffles, regulated by the local municipalities, as a way to offer higher prizes and maintain their crowds.
On August 16, 2007, the Governor signed House Bill 3649 which redefines bingo as being played on any paper with 5 horizontal rows of spaces, with each row except the central one containing 5 figures. The central row has 4 figures with the word free marked in the center space.
The new law eliminates the raffles and puts bingo in a 36 year time warp. Charities will be unable to attract players with these restrictions. If they continue to play the games as they exist they will be breaking the law, and subject to the penalties that were established. The result will be that more bingos will close, and not for profit organizations will lose an important source of their income to support their projects. Of course the loss of tax revenue will follow. Essentially this new law will have an impact that seems not to have been considered before its passage.
4. Fortune Bingo --Team and Share Bingos
Dear Fellow Pogo Players,
I have started this petition so that we can be heard. We are requesting the ability to create private rooms in Fortune Bingo. The ability to create private rooms will prevent alot of the disputes that are currently going on between many of the players. Passwords could be sent to players through invitation or whispers in chat. Even if Pogo requires a minimum number of players to play, I believe that there are enough of us that would like to have this option that any reasonable minimum could be reached.
After corrospondence with Pogo:
There would be a cost to members to have the ability to create private rooms. This would be to cover part of the cost for Pogo to make these changes.
As alternatives to private rooms, I am requesting that Pogo to adjust the current game so that each game does not end when the first player rings the gong allowing more players to win. Each player can ring the gong when they have bingo and the game would not end until 3 or more players have bingo. The other alternative would be to create a game similar to IonThunder's Team Bingo. The number of bingos required is based on the number of players in each room. When the minimum is met, all players in that room receive credit and a nice bonus. If your room does not reach the minimum, only those with bingo get credit.
Please send this around to all of your friends & ask them to sign it. Together we can all make a difference.
Pogo is supported by us and we should have a say in what they offer.
Please include your pogo screen name when signing.
5. Disallow "teaming" in Fortune Bingo at Pogo
Due to the harrassment being received by the "teamers" in the game Fortune Bingo at Pogo, we (the signers) ask Pogo to disallow "teaming". Some of the harrassment received involves, but is not limited to: cursing, name-calling, false reporting and adding non-teamers to friends list in order to follow them around and further harrass them.
Bingo is, by all rights, a one person game and should not be dominated by those wishing to obtain the offered badge faster than regular players.
Thank you.
