2. No Tax Raise & No New Taxes

As Americans we are already paying too much in tax. Our founding fathers argued that they did not want to put a ceiling on a 10% tax rate for citizens because a future Government might have the audacity to impose such a high rate.

History supports less intrusive Government, free enterprise, and less than a 10% tax rate for all.

4. STOP BREED-SPECIFIC LEGISLATION IN BASTROP LA

Put a stop to breed-specific legislation(BSL). Everyday a dog is mistaken for a pit bull. There are over 25+ dog breeds that can look very similar to an American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT). Also, everyday laws are being put in place to take away or restrict our pets. Any dog has the potential to be dangerous.

I do not agree with dog fighting and that being said, feel that laws against fighting should be enforced better. All of this is the result of irresponsible owners. The APBT is NOT a human aggressive breed. They love humans and want to please us. They are also a great family dog, wonderful with children. They didn't get the nickname Nanny Dog for nothing. If no one does anything about this euthanasia will be next. It is impossible to enforce the registration of one specific breed.

Please, help us in our efforts to stop BSL before it's too late. Once our breed is gone they will find another breed to slander and it could be yours. There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners.

6. WJJG is For Smart Shows Only

Not only did 2011 see the sudden death of Joe Gentile, but the removal of intelligent programming and music from weekdays (and even parts of the weekend).

It is totally unfair to get rid of Angry White Male, Job Talk, John DiVita's Morning Show, and other programming that made WJJG an amazing radio station.

Mancow should not be on at all. He is incoherent and his show does not belong on a community radio station like WJJG. Michael Savage should be aired in two hours or removed too, and sent back to WIND.

If you believe that WJJG should continue with original programming and music during weekdays, please sign this petition. This is an outrage and we need to keep whatever we have left of special radio stations like WJJG.

8. Bring Back American Industry

U.S. Corporations have off-shored their production and services to low wage countries, with devastating consequences for the American people.

Congress has enacted rules for Corporations that have violated the public trust, and that have put our national economy in jeopardy.

Low wages paid in undemocratic regimes reflect government coercion, and should be considered unfair wage competition.

9. Kick all U.S. military personnel out of British territories

1. The very presence of U.S. personnel (under the NATO banner), and U.S. military hardware in Britain makes Britain a target for attack, since there is so much hatred towards the U.S. in the world, and because the U.S. is so involved in conflicts in various parts of the world.

2. Britain should distance itself from the U.S., politically and militarily, and roundly condemn U.S. foreign policy. The U.S. (i.e. the U.S. Administration) has a disgraceful record of attacking and invading other nations, of causing death, destruction, and displacement on a colossal scale, wrecking the lives of millions, supporting and arming brutal dictators, subverting or overthrowing Governments, including democratically-elected Governments, and through its covert CIA activities assassinating politicians and even assassinating a democratically elected President, Salvador Allende.

3. The Chagos Islanders were expelled from their homeland, Diego Garcia, and put into dreadful slums in Mauritius, to make way for a U.S. military base.

Other signatories of this petition do not necessarily have the same reasons for signing. They may have other valid reasons. They are not signing my comments here. They will just be signing the petition.

It might not seem like much but these shows have become part of people's everyday lives. I believe that the stations should cater to what the fans want & need. 17. Save our Pride, Save our Pool

A once proud and thriving cultural development venue, the Lawrence Street Recreation Center has been neglected by the city for years.

While municipal projects went forward elsewhere, our African-American families stood to lose generations of tradition with activities already diminished by the lack of appropriate funding where it is needed most.

Swimming is not only fun, but also a safety skill that disproportionately affects African-Americans from a history that needs no clarification. It is time for Lawrence Street Recreation Center to be re-developed with a full set of amenities of a first class, indoor facility.

We realize that Lawrence Street recreational facility is vital to all citizens of Marietta regardless of race or color, even though it is the African American community that has sought to initiate this endeavor, all are welcome to join.

Note: Cullen Jones, was only the second African-American to ever win a swimming gold medal even though black people are less than 1% of the competitive swimmers. It can't change by closing pools and closing opportunities in our own neighborhoods.

Sign this petition and tell the city that we are not only going to be counted in the Census, but also in our local government on every issue from now on, starting with this one.

Save our Pride. Save our Pool.

20. Outlaw Outsourcing or Tax Companies that Outsource

Unemployment is an issue that needs to be addressed quickly. With each passing day that this situation continues, thousands of laid-off workers around run out of state and federal benefits. There are simply not enough jobs with the amount of available workers there are and this is a serious problem for many families.

The ‘real’ unemployment rate is 17.5% (.4% more than what it was in December of 1962) which includes both the unemployed and underemployed. The amount of people that want to work but cannot find a job is more than five times the level early this decade and the highest unemployment level since the Great Depression. Even having enough money to take classes to study for a new career is proving difficult for many Americans. Ironically, many jobs are being denied to many graduates because they are overqualified. What will happen to the younger generations? The older generations? How much longer can we wait, Mr. President?

Most of this mess that we are in right now could be avoided if American companies would provide their jobs to American workers and not outsource them.

21. Support a Population Driven Stimulus Package

As you know America is in a huge recession; why don't we allow the American people the opportunity to stimulate the economy?

China's economy is rising exponentially. Why? The people of China are working together to boost their own economy.

We as Americans have become lazy. We look to the government to continuously bail us out; all the while putting us further and further into dept. The more money the government throws into stimulus packages that don't work, the more our national debt goes up.

Americans constantly complain that the President isn't doing enough, or isn't putting money into the right areas. Instead of complaining we should take the initiative and ask to have the right to contribute and decide where the money goes. The solution is very elementary.

Take a look at the size of the adult population in America; if each adult citizen pays just $10.00 a month to a stimulus fund that would equate to approximately $3 billion dollars a month. That money raised could bail this country out quickly without adding to our national deficit.

My suggestion is allocate the funds each month to two areas. The first being the SBA and the second being infrastructure. We've spent enough money on the stock markets, banks and the automobile industry. Small businesses are the meat and potatoes of America. Why are we padding the pockets of the already wealthy CEO's of these big corporations?

This stimulus fund will boost small businesses to grow and expand therefore, creating more jobs. Equally it will create jobs by enabling constant growth in our infrastructure.

So, why don’t we as Americans quit complaining and ask that we contribute into digging ourselves out of this hole.

22. Michael Jackson museum

Michael Jackson is an American musician, entertainer, and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop" in subsequent years, five of his solo studio albums have become some of the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and HIStory.

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and Thriller—credited for transforming the music video into an art form and a promotional tool—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" kept Jackson as a staple on MTV into the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced numerous hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists. One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for Thriller as the world's best-selling album—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and the sale of over 750 million units worldwide.

Jackson's highly publicized personal life, coupled with his successful career, has made him a part of popular culture for almost four decades. In recent years he has been cited as one of the world's most famous men.

26. Save an Innocent family!

Now that the Bush era is over I am sure I can get help!. I am a 5th generation American (German decent), I am 33 years old and have epilepsy, which makes me totally disabled and unable to work, drive or take care of our children.

In Jan 2006, my Pakistani born husband (of 9 years) and father of our children (son 7 and Daughter 3, she was 4 months old when this all happened) was arrested by ICE, tortured and deported with NO CHARGES or any faults on his part. After they tortured him and after they could not find anything on him, they put him in solitary where he begged to be sent back to Pakistan (the only option given him other than to be beat more for no reason), where he had not been since 1980. He had not even taken a trip to Pakistan in that 25 year time and does not have any family or friends here, where we all now reside.

With no place to go, I followed in 2007, after selling my wedding ring for passports and plane tickets for the children and I. We lived apart from him for 2 years and could take it no more. Our last month in the USA, December 2007 we lived in a homeless shelter in center city Philadelphia while we awaited the day of departure, January 17th 2008. This was the only option open to me at that time. Here in Pakistan, both my husband and I have had our lives threatened and we live in constant fear of the frequent bombs as well as kidnapping.

My husband has been our only support, he is educated but can not find a job because of his American Education and ideas. We went to the American Embassy seeking help but I was told that if I divorce my husband, they will send myself and the children back to the USA to live in a Homeless shelter, except for that they can not do anything for us. We have tried to contact lawyers and they require a minimum of $10,000 payment before they can help. At this point we have less than $20 to our name. Please do not take this as asking for money I am just asking for help in correcting and injustice and in keeping an American family together as we wish to be, in the USA. Please help in getting us back to the USA together!!

27. Bob Dylan Congressional Gold Medal

A Congressional Gold Medal is an award bestowed by the United States Congress and is, along with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. The decoration is awarded to an individual who performs an outstanding deed or act of service to the security, prosperity, and national interest of the United States. American citizenship is not a requirement.

The Gold Medal and the Presidential Medal of Freedom are generally considered to carry the same level of prestige (though significantly fewer Gold Medals have been awarded). The chief difference between the two is that the Freedom Medal is personally awarded by the President of the United States (executive branch), and Congressional Gold Medals are awarded by acts of the Congress (legislative branch). Per committee rules, legislation bestowing a Congressional Gold Medal upon a recipient must be co-sponsored by two-thirds of the membership of both the House of Representatives and the Senate before their respective committees will consider it.

Since the American Revolution, Congress has commissioned gold medals as its highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions. Each medal honors a particular individual, institution, or event. Although the first recipients included citizens who participated in the American Revolution, the War of 1812 and the Mexican-American War, Congress broadened the scope of the medal to include actors, authors, entertainers, musicians, pioneers in aeronautics and space, explorers, lifesavers, notables in science and medicine, athletes, humanitarians, public servants, and foreign recipients.

Bob Dylan has been among the pre eminent artists of the 20th and 21st centuries in the United States. His impact on popular culture particularly in song form, performance and the creation of highly personal songwriting which is simultaneously deeply linked to American folk music and popular arts is unique and worthy of this singular award.

29. DEMAND an end to any and all deficit spending

As President Ronald Reagan once said "You and I are told we must choose between a left, or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down."

We at "Let's Get this Right" agree with that statement and we recognize that the US economy is in enormous trouble. This includes Wall Street, the US Government, and every American living on main-street; no one is immune to the impact of the current economic situation.

When Wall Street needs help it turns to the government, when the government needs help it turns to the American people and when the American people need help, it is often too late for us to obtain help because the government has already over spent the tax dollars, fees and fines it collects as part of its daily function.

When it needs money for a spending bill, or a financial bailout, the government either cuts spending somewhere, shifts spending temporarily, raises taxes on the American people or simply prints more money.

30. Save Wild Horses- Euthanization of Wild Horses

WE NEED URGENT HELP!!!

AOL News:
Plan To Euthanize Horses Spurs Debate

RENO, Nev. (July 7) - Animal rights activists and ranchers are clashing over a federal proposal to euthanize wild horses as a way to deal with their surplus numbers.

Horse advocates will mount a campaign against the proposal announced late last month by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, said Chris Heyde, deputy director of government and legal affairs for the Animal Welfare Institute based in Washington, D.C.

Federal officials said they're faced with tough choices because wild horses have overpopulated public lands in the West and they no longer can afford to care for the number of animals that have been rounded up.

But Heyde maintained the agency is seeking a "magic bullet" for budget problems caused after it began rounding up the mustangs at an unprecedented rate in recent years.

He said the roundups left too many horses for the public to adopt, requiring the agency to contract for more private long-term holding facilities.

The proposal "is killing pure and simple to balance the books for an agency whose reckless management has caused immeasurable harm to a national treasure at considerable cost to the American taxpayer," Heyde said.

Ron Cerri, of the Rebel Creek Ranch in Orovada and president-elect of the Nevada Cattlemen's Association, said ranchers would prefer horses be adopted but euthanasia may be necessary to keep their numbers down.

"Unfortunately, it's something they'll have to consider," Cerri said. "I don't know of another solution."

Cerri criticized the federal agency's proposal to stop roundups of wild horses to save money. Ranchers view mustangs as competition for forage on the range.

"That would be really unfortunate," he said. "We're starting to get close to what's called `appropriate management levels' of wild horses on the range. If we stop the roundups, that number will blow up again."

There are an estimated 33,000 wild horses in 10 Western states. About half of those are in Nevada.

The agency has set a target appropriate management level of horses at 27,000. About another 30,000 horses are in holding facilities, where most are made available for adoption.

Last year about $22 million of the entire horse program's $39 million budget was spent on holding horses in agency pens. Next year the costs are projected to grow to $26 million with an overall budget that is being trimmed to $37 million.

Lacy Dalton, president and co-founder of the Let 'Em Run Foundation horse advocacy group, urged the agency to consider alternative solutions.

They include efforts to step up birth control and legislation to provide tax breaks to large landowners willing to let horses roam on their property, she said.

"The American people have spoken - they want to preserve these wild horses," said Dalton.

"They are symbolic of the wildness and freedom and independent spirit of the West. We need to find ways to save them without being a burden on taxpayers," she added.

Agency officials said they stepped up the roundups in recent years because of ongoing drought that has left dwindling forage and water for the mustangs. Horse advocates insist the action was taken to placate ranchers.

The Bureau of Land Management's announcement marked the first time the agency publicly has discussed the possibility of putting surplus animals to death. Congress unanimously passed the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act to protect the animals.
