1. Ban all animals Circuses and all animal acts! speak for those who can't speak for themselves
Animals exploited for human entertainment face appalling treatment, pose threats to public health and safety, are currently not adequately regulated by state and federal laws, and do not conserve endangered species as is so often claimed.
I strongly believe that the standard industry tools and methods used to initially "break" and train animals throughout their lives, including the bullhook, chaining, food and water deprivation, use of whips, clubs and blunt objects, and electric prods, are incredibly inhumane. In addition, subjecting circus animals to travel for up to 11 months of the year for thousands of hours, over long distances, is unspeakably cruel. As you know, these animals may be chained while not performing, transported in vehicles that lack climate control, and forced to stand or lie in their own waste.
Wild animals used in public displays are dangerous — and even deadly. Recent incidents nationwide highlight the need for tighter restrictions on the exhibition of these animals. In addition to the many documented escapes and attacks by captive animals used for exhibition, elephants may carry tuberculosis (TB), and can infect humans with the bacterial disease.
Circuses are entertainment, not education. Watching wild animals perform unnatural tricks only teaches our children that it is acceptable to exploit animals; it does not teach respect for animals, nor does it help animals in the wild. Animal-free circuses and entertainment, such as Cole Brothers Circus and Cirque du Soleil, are growing as the use of wild animals becomes recognized as archaic, unsafe and inhumane.
For the sake of human safety and animal welfare, please stop using animals in Carson &Barnes,Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey.
People who support the circus should be ashamed of themselves. To sit there and watch these animals suffer a lot of them die and kill people. Do you blame them? I am so angry about this and how can you buy a show and sit there and watch them suffer?

4. Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle
May 20, 2006
We are requesting that the new addition be put on the opposite side of the building in order to have a less of an intrusive impact on the adjacent property owners.
Landscaping, including tall evergreens should be installed around the perimeter of the property to create additional buffer.
Adjacent residences have complained about the noise from the existing air conditioning units. Could you please request that an air conditioning system be installed that would have less of a noise problem.
We are requesting that a covenant be put on the property that would restrict any future additional square footage to the structure and/or occupancy levels.
We are requesting that a covenant be put on the property that would eliminate access to Mallard Drive.
The proposed third floor to the new addition should be eliminated as it may impact the privacy of adjacent residents.
5. STOP The Removal of The CROSS and BLOOD from Soul Chasers Prayer & Outreach Center
HELP SAVE OUR CROSS AND ARTWORK depicting the BLOOD of JESUS. Soul Chasers Prayer and Outreach Center has only been open in Amarillo, Texas since May 1st, 2005. We completely renovated our building which we lease from the San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, the Masons welcomed our Christian Evangelistic Ministry with open arms.
The Master of the Lodge gave his approval on behalf of the Lodge for the placement of the Cross on the roof. In addition approval was granted for the painting of the cross on our back door. The Master of the lodge in agreement with our Lease gave us full aproval to paint the outside of the building and create signs and artwork.
The only sign on the building which is on the front wall, consisting of a flat plywood board, was painted in red paint with "JESUS SAVES" written on it. On the corner of the building and directly under the rooftop cross our artist painted red blood flowing down the side of the building. Written inside the red paint are different quotes, concerning the Blood of Jesus, such as "The Blood of Jesus Sets you Free".
Upon completion of all the outside artwork the Master of the Lodge advised us to cease from any further painting, as members of the lodge had complained about the blood artwork. They found the Blood artwork to be disturbing. The Director of our organization contacted the City of Amarillo Code Enforcement Department to obtain what rules, regulations and laws pertained to all the work done during the renovation of the building.
Per the City of Amarillo, no permits were needed for the artwork, as it is not considered to be signage under city ordinances. String lighting (Christmas lights) were placed on the border of the roof outlining it in white lighting. The Cross was lit up with red christmas lights. These lights are not regulated by the Code Enforcement Department and are not considered to be electrical work which normally needs permits and inspections.
On August 15, 2005 Six months into our lease we received notifcation from our Landlord - San Jacinto Masonic Lodge No. 1330, that they wanted the Cross removed from the roof, the Cross removed from the back door. They found the lighting on the cross and roof to be a hazard (in their opinion) and therefore disconnected all lights.
They demand immediate removal of all artwork painted with red paint on the outside of the building. The sign and the artwork of the Blood of Jesus. They state that their membership voted on the issue and want it all removed. They state that it violates the Grand Lodge laws which prohibits the Lodges from placement of any signs or emblems denoting a particular religion.
We are in full compliance with our lease agreement. During the renovation and placement of the artwork and crosses the Master of the Lodge and other members were involved and get informed on a daily basis. They consistly gave their approval for all our work, citing we had done a wonderful job and they were very pleased to have us as tenants.
In addition, the supplied equipment such as ladders for us to place the cross on the roof, and to install the lighting. The Master was constantly encouraging us to paint the outside of the building (since it was in poor condition) and told us to paint whatever we wanted. Furthermore, we had even negotiated with the Lodge about possibly renovated a large historical murial on the North wall of the building, which had started to peel and fade.
We presented them with plans of painting a depiction of Jesus Christ surrounded by drug addicts, prostitues and homeless people. The Master of the Lodge stated we had his approval.
Upon consulting with City Officials and our Attorneys, we our in full compliance with the law and followed proper procedure for approval per our lease agreement.
We therefore refuse to comply with the demands for the removal of these items. In addition, we request your support in standing with us on this issue. The Masonic Lodge is only offended by the Christian emblems of the Cross and the Blood of Jesus, because they despise both and teach against them.
The members of the Masonic Lodge are the only individuals that have made any negative comments about our artwork. The cross and the Blood artwork have drawn the comments and attention of every person that frequents sixth street in Amarillo, Texas.
We have been overwhelmed with compliments from all types of people from various faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. The cross and the Blood Artwork have become the Outreach's Identity as it is located on Historic Route 66 amongst Antique shops, biker bars and clubs. We will stand strong for the CROSS and we Proclaim once again that THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
We will not back down from what we belief is our right and priviledge to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, the Death on the Cross, the atonement of our Sins throught the Blood of Jesus and by his death we obtain Salvation, and through Jesus only, not by works or by any other human means.
We are justified and washed in the Blood of Jesus. Satan ! Masons ! You are defeated in Jesus Name and we proclaim Victory so that the Lost may be Saved.
6. Tomato Sauce Should Be FREE
We belive that Tomato sauce in Australia should not be at any extra cost. Especially when added to small things such as a Pie or Pastie.
Fair enough you buy a bottle of it, but a small little portion in a bite of your favourite hot food should not cost anything near the price that it is at.
We (Ross and Jess) are fans of tomato sauce and find it a necessary addition to our favourite Aussie meals.

8. Stop Assessments to Orchard Estates 1st Addition
A new housing develpment is going to be added next to an established city area. The city is going to try to assess the cost of these new improvments for properties and develpment to our existing residents!
The new developer estimates to cost of this to the City of Dilworth a total of $2,250,000.00 This is a new twist to the plan as this was never discussed in any of the public planning meetings and hearings for this new housing devlopment.

11. Re-Establish Ninth Period at Anthony Rossi Intermediate School
Anthony Rossi Intermediate School formerly had a ninth period, until higher officials decided to remove this "superfluous" period (as referred to by some faculty) for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years. Ninth period provided forty (40) minutes to students to work on homework, go outside, visit the library, study, assemble for school clubs, and participate in other educational and non-academic activities.
The removal of ninth period resulted in an addition of five (5) minutes to each period. Since the elimination of ninth period, it is becoming harder and harder for pupils of this school -
* to visit the library (which includes borrowing books and other media for required Accelerated Reader tests, taking the tests, use reference books at the library to aid them in their school work, and other library related activities)
* to get together in groups for school clubs (which includes all clubs at Rossi Intermediate school that would like to meet during ninth period in order to (a) have more time for their club meetings [ninth period and after school] and (b) meet during ninth period so the instructor(s) and student(s) don't have to stay after school, reducing the amount of students on the activity bus, and possibly reducing the number of missed busses,
* to study (this is especially true with multiple student studying, which has been proven to be more effective), work on group projects, and partake in other activities normally available during ninth period. Presently, the current period schedule provides less than twenty (20) minutes to complete all of these activities (mathematical equation: one period = 40 minutes, silent reading is ½ of the lunch/silent reading period, minus two minutes for the bell change. So, (45 x .5)-2 is 20 [rounded from 20.1], then you must take into consideration extra time to get a pass written, walk down to the library, walk back from the library and other lag time due to the shortness of silent reading), that's only if you can get a pass, seeing that only three students may be permitted a pass to the library at any given time.

13. Building Codes
This is a petition concerning the Building Codes and Restrictions set forth by Blue Water Oaks HomeOwner's Association.
Policy Page C-3 of the Blue Water Oaks HomeOwner's Association states that each portable building or mobile home brought into the addition must first have a photo submitted to the Association for approval. By moving in the mobile home on Mariner Court that appears to have been torn down once, it has and will continue to bring our property value down and our insurance rates up since most homeowner's insurance companies take note of the properties surrounding your home. Please sign this petition to have the mobile home removed.
14. Guiding Light - BRING BACK QUINT & NOLA
REUNITE QUINT & NOLA
Wouldn't you like to see Quint & Nola back on GL. Guiding Light could use a lift, so how about reuniting Quint & Nola and having them walk down memory lane. So lets bring back Quint (MICHAEL TYLO) and Nola (LISA BROWN).
The time has come to reunite one of the best soap couples ever, now that Guiding Light has a new Executive Producer maybe he will realize the value and following of Quint & Nola. Help us put the best soap couple back where they belong, join in our petition.
Nola Reardon grew up in a boardinghouse on 7th street and spent her difficult childhood dreaming of a better life. Her wishes came true the day she found herself on the doorstep of Quinton McCord, an archaeologist who had recently moved to town to escape a past relationship. Nola accepted a job as Quinton's personal assistant and as a team they embarked on many exciting adventures.
Nola and Quint's young relationship, however, was immediately met with opposition. Two of Quint's former lovers, Helena and Rebecca (Mona), were desperate to win him back. In addition, Nola was kidnaped (more than once) by Quint's nemesis, Silas Crocker. While scuba diving during a mission in St. Croix, Quint saved Nola from drowning and they shared their first kiss.
This time, Nola saved Quint's life and the relationship endured. Shortly after, Quinton discovered that he was Henry Chamberlin's long-lost son. When Nola and Quint finally got engaged, Henry threw an elaborate antebellum theme celebration in the couple's honor. The date was set for June 24, 1983 but the marriage proved to be a mission in and of itself. Nola's mother, Bea, couldn't finish the wedding dress and was forced to enlist the help of former hooker Lola Fontaine and her friends Trixie and Maybel. To make matters worse, her family accidentally left her behind and Nola had to hitch a ride to the church on a fire truck. Finally, the couple made it to the altar to exchange their vows. After a successful completion of the ceremony, Quinton surprised Nola with a hot-air balloon ride before taking her to Ireland for their honeymoon.
Nola and Quint continued to live an adventurous life as a newlywed couple. In addition to their "real" adventures, Nola's overactive imagination caused her to slip away into a fantasy world where she and Quinton played out the roles of old movie stars and musical actors. Her fantasies were always sparked by real life situations and allowed her to cope with difficult issues in her life. When Nola and Quinton had their first baby, for example, Nola embodied the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz to ask the Wizard for his advice. In the end, they had the name narrowed down to Thomas Henry, Quinton Jr., or Anthony James. Viewers were invited to vote on the name and Anthony James, A.J. for short, won by a landslide.
As the years passed, Quinton unfortunately became involved with another woman and Nola returned to Springfield. Quinton, however, realized his mistake and ran after his true love, Nola.
15. Eliminate Censorship in NASCAR Video Games
Too long has there existed a double standard in video games. Video game manufactures are permitted to represent gratuitous murder in their games as well as a large degree of sexually suggestive elements. In order for them to do this, they simply need to put a "T" (Teen) or "M" (Mature) label on the packaging of the game. However, the following law exists in the California legislature:
California Penal Code 308.5:
(a) No person or business shall sell, lease, rent, or provide, or offer to sell, lease, rent, or otherwise offer to the public or to public establishments in this state, any video game intended for either private use or for use in a public establishment and intended primarily for use by any person under the age of 18 years, which contains, in its design and in the on-screen presentation of the video game, any paid commercial advertisement of alcoholic beverage or tobacco product containers or other forms of consumer packaging, particular brand names, trademarks, or copyrighted slogans of alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.
(b) As used in this section, "video game" means any electronic amusement device that utilizes a computer, microprocessor, or similar electronic circuitry and its own cathode ray tube, or is designed to be used with a television set or a monitor, that interacts with the user of the device.
(c) A violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
As reasonable as this law may seem at a glance to some parties, it creates a very unreasonable restriction on games which are produced within the abilities of the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) license. During every NASCAR broadcast, viewers bear witness to a variety of alcohol and tobacco related advertising in the form of Rusty Wallace's Miller Lite car, Dale Earnhardt Junior's Budweiser car, and most apparent, the name of the two main circuits of NASCAR, the Winston Cup (cigarette company) and the Busch Grand National (beer company). It would only seem logical that a video game that is licensed under NASCAR would be permitted to portray NASCAR in as realistic a manner as technology would allow. However, California Penal Code 308.5 forbids this.
This is actually a second double standard: A minor can view said controversial sponsorships (in addition to numerous others) in any given NASCAR race (one quarter of which are broadcast on a national non-cable network, NBC), however to represent the same in a video game in an effort to exude realism in what has been deemed a family-safe sport is forbidden. There should be no argument it is safe to conclude that if one plays a NASCAR video game, there is a very good chance that one has watched at least one NASCAR race on television. If the viewer/player was going to be influenced by alcohol or cigarette advertisements had they been in the game, is it not also safe to say that that person would have already been influenced by watching the race on television? In addition to this, the responsibility for keeping cigarettes and alcohol out of the hands of minors lies primarily on the vendors of these products. Secondary to the vendors, it is the responsibility of the parents or guardians of the minors to educate them on the dangers of alcohol and tobacco. If both of these "lines of defense" fail, all of the censorship in the world won't strip children of the ability to become consumers of these otherwise legal health threats.
