1. Save the Adaptation of Lauren Oliver's Delirium Trilogy

We, the undersigned, are disappointed by FOX Television's decision not to order the Delirium series, based on Lauren Oliver's brilliant trilogy, and ask that the network not allow its outstanding potential to go to waste.

The Delirium novel was a New York Times Bestseller that also reached #4 on the NYT Series List following the release of the final book of the trilogy, Requiem. It was named Best Teen Book and Best YA Novel of 2011 (So Far) by Amazon, on top of Best Fiction nominations from The American Library Association and The Young Adult Library Services Association. The books have also found international acclaim, winning the prestigious Le Grand Prix de L'Imaginaire in France and the Buxtehude Bull in Germany, both in 2012.

More than that, the Delirium trilogy is a beautiful story of love, youth, and the human condition that seamlessly infuses action and politics to create an astonishingly original world. It has a devoted fanbase across the social networks, many of whom have organized or taken part in campaigns to "Spread the Deliria". We did so because we were profoundly touched by the books and thrilled at the prospect of a film or television adaptation.

We respectfully disagree with the decision not to further adapt the series at this time and ask that FOX consider an alternative means of adapting the series or sell the rights to someone who would be willing to give the story another shot, rather than allowing this profound tale to sit idle on the shelves indefinitely.

Delirium and its fandom deserve a worthy adaptation.

6. Fast-track 'Doctor Who' on ABC1

The ABC has fast-tracked the previous two 'Doctor Who' Christmas episodes, but has never fast-tracked any episodes of 'Doctor Who' during a regular season of the show.

We want to get the ABC to fast-track 'Doctor Who' during its regular season. This would mean showing Doctor Who on the Sunday following the United Kingdom's air date.

7. Humane Dog Management in Varanasi, India

Varanasi is one of the few Indian cities without State supported humane dog management. Despite many requests, Varanasi Municipal Corporation VMC has yet to introduce Animal Birth Control/Anti Rabies (ABC/AR). This despite that the fact that VMC has a vehicle and dog catchers.

VMC also ignores the fact that ABC/AR has been successfully pioneered in Varanasi by two genuine organisations: ASHA (Aashray for Sick and Helpless Animals) and HOPE (Helping Organisation for People, Environt & Animal Trust).

8. Stop Interrupting Regular Programs to Broadcast Cricket

ABC Local Radio has a community of listeners spanning the whole of Australia. The transmission of the 'Overnights' program, hosted by Trevor Chappell and Rod Quinn and also the 'Nightlife' program, hosted by Tony Delroy, are often interrupted by sporting events, such as cricket, with regular listeners being forced to listen to regular shows online or on digital radio. This is not possible for many people and is inconvenient.

Please make a separate channel for sport, or have the minority who want to listen to sport, listen online or via digital radio, and leave the majority of regular listeners to their normal programming.

9. Keep Cinema Local Objection to Applications 12/00067/F and 12/0068/LA

Keep Cinema Local was established in 2001 as part of a campaign to keep open the cinema on Whiteladies Road. We are still passionate about this fantastic local resource and the role it should play in our community.

It was a great cinema and it should be again. It's terrible to see it closed and falling into disrepair while repeated, unsuitable planning applications try to undermine its character, appearance and function.

This group has been created to help you take action to keep the cinema safe from inappropriate development. The cinema needs your support and it needs it NOW.

10. Season 2 of The River

I am starting this petition to try to keep the TV show The River on the air. News reports are saying because of the shows low viewers that it may be cancelled and not continued on to a second season.

I believe that this is an amazing television show and that the reason for the low amount of viewers is because most people DVR'd the episodes due to work or multiple other reasons.

I am positive that most viewers would love to see this show continued, due to the cliff hanger that was left at the end of the first season.

11. Bring Back FLASHFORWARD!

FlashForward is an American television series, adapted for TV by Brannon Braga and David S. Goyer, which aired for one season on ABC between September 24, 2009 and May 27, 2010. It is based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer.

The series revolves around the lives of several people as a mysterious event causes nearly everyone on the planet to simultaneously lose consciousness for two minutes and seventeen seconds on October 6, 2009.

During this "blackout", people see what appear to be visions of their lives on April 29, 2010, a global "flashforward". It was announced in May 2010 that ABC would not be renewing FlashForward for a second season.

12. Happy Endings Season 2 Pickup

ABC hasn't ordered a Full Season (22 eps) for Happy Endings, one of the best and smartest sitcom on TV.

This season Happy Ending has not only improved its content, it also has improved its ratings in the 18-49 Demo, posting two series High in the first 3 episodes.

Happy Endings has shown so far to be a very solid addition to ABC Wednesday comedy block, so the time for the full Season 2 pickup announcement is now!

13. Bring back 'Invasion' (TV Series)

Invasion is an American science fiction television series that aired on ABC for only one season beginning in September 2005.

The show told the story of the aftermath of a hurricane in which water-based creatures infiltrate a small Florida town and begin to take over the bodies of the town's inhabitants through a cloning process (first by merging with and then unknowingly replacing them). The show was produced by Shaun Cassidy Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the aftermath in the southern United States, early on-air promotions were quickly pulled by ABC. The advertising then switched emphasis completely to the alien invasion aspect of the series, while the hurricane received no mention. The premiere was also preceded with a warning that the show featured images of a fictional hurricane that viewers could be sensitive to.

Personally i feel that Invasion was an exceptional show which has much more to offer, considering the current sci fi genre on television is at a low point, i say bring back Invasion. There are shows being aired at this moment in time that lack the quality of storyline, acting and potential that a real sci fi show requires, Invasion had all of this, the acting was outstanding, from William Fichtner as Sheriff Tom Underlay to Ariel Gade as little Rose Varon, throughout the show the actors portrayed their characters brilliantly and showed remarkable proffesionalism.

The storyline is fresh and original, many alien invasion storylines fail terriblly, whereas Invasion gained, at some points, above average ratings, although it was cancelled after one season i hardly believe this was due to a poor plot/show, their were many other factors that resulted in the cancellation (Hurricaine Katrina being a main factor)

And the show has great potential, any human being with an average knowledge of either sci fi shows or simply just good television would be able to tell you that Invasion is an all round excellent sci fi television programme, and has alot more to offer, i just hope its not too late.

16. ABC, create a channel exclusively for 90s kids TV show re-runs

The ABC became the leader in children's television in the 1990s. Many shows were both fun and educational and provided an escape for children. Many people want to see a channel dedicated to the ABC kids shows which flooded our screens in the 1990s.

This channel would not just be beneficial and loved by children from the 1990s, but also shared by a new generation of children, with the same wonder we all had while watching these shows. Our great following is reflected by the massive interest we have had in online forums.

18. Increase signal strength to ABC's Triple J 89.5FM on the Sunshine Coast

I Daniel Ciseau along with many others, whom listen to and enjoy the ABC's Triple J radio station on 89.5 Fm feel the signal strength of the station is too "weak" in certain Sunshine Coast Areas. Some of these areas include Mooloolaba, Buderim, and hinterland.

I listen to this station at minimum of 20 hrs a week whilst driving, working and socialising. I do not enjoy whilst driving through certain areas or entering shops and my workplace to be losing reception, whilst other radio stations in the same area continue to have excellent reception all of the time.

I do not enjoy these "other" stations for reasons I find irrelevant to disclose, but would rather state that like all other fans of Triple J I love new music and want to continue listening uninterrupted 24/7 with great signal strength.

19. Repeal the Ratio Requirement

Many restaurants in the state of Virginia that serve mixed beverages have been heavily burdened with a ratio requirement that is impossible to maintain, especially as liquor costs rise.

Currently the law states:

§ 4.1-210. Mixed beverages licenses.

A. Subject to the provisions of § 4.1-124, the Board may grant the following licenses relating to mixed beverages:

1. Mixed beverage restaurant licenses, which shall authorize the licensee to sell and serve mixed beverages for consumption in dining areas and other designated areas of such restaurant. Such license may be granted only to persons (i) who operate a restaurant and (ii) whose gross receipts from the sale of food cooked or prepared, and consumed on the premises and nonalcoholic beverages served on the premises, after issuance of such license, amount to at least 45 percent of the gross receipts from the sale of mixed beverages and food. ...

Even if every patron purchased an inexpensive meal, if they also purchased two mixed drinks, the ratio would not be met.

Many restaurants that offer late night live music and dancing have found that their mixed beverage sales during the weekend completely surpasses their food sales for the week by far more than a 45:55 ratio.

How are restaurants that also serve as music venues or karaoke bars supposed to handle this except to shut down at night, which would cause them to lose business and cost the state considerable tax revenue?

20. Stop the axing of the Alliance for Black Children

On 23rd July 2010 The Alliance for Black Children received the devastating news that the local authority will be terminating their contract with ABC to provide support services, effective 31st October 2010. The termination of our funding from Children’s fund will have an adverse impact on a number of children and families within the county and we are writing to ask for your careful reconsideration of this decision.

ABC has been providing valuable support services to children and families within the Northamptonshire community for seven consecutive years. The organisation’s main goal is to enhance and improve the well being of children and families of black and dual heritage backgrounds. However as we have grown these services have expanded to become more inclusive. We presently employ 3 full time staff, 5 part time staff and 2 sessional play-workers and they along with 5 volunteers deliver services within the broad areas of study support in schools, family support, holiday activity programmes and community outreach work.

The funding from Children’s Fund covers the core costs enabling us to then apply for funding to develop projects such as:
(1) Adult Learning Project
(2) WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)
(3) On Point for young males and females
(4) Art Club
(5) Fishing Club
(6) Anti Guns and Knives Project
(7) Anti Bullying Campaign
(8) Taking part in local carnivals
(9) School of Life – Phones to Knitting Project.

24. Bring anime back to TV

Currently our anime programming consists of two hours on Mondays from 11 PM to 1 AM (all times Eastern) on Sci Fi, 4 AM Tuesdays on IFC and from 12:30 to 6 AM Saturdays on CN's Adult Swim. Where is the rest we were promised years ago?

Sure we have AniMondays but whtever became of Encore Action's (Starz) AniMidnight anime shows and films? Gone. We used to have anime all night Saturdays and Sundays. Gone. I remember a promise of weekday anime shows from Turner who runs CN. They promised us a return to the old Rurouni Kenshin and InuYasha and Sailor Moon of bygone years but nothing was ever done about it! Anime is so popular now that it would behoove giants like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, etc. to include anime in its lineup. Sponsors would flock to these mogul networks to post ads.

Anime is becoming more and more difficult to find on home videos. Indeed most must be purchased online mainly from Japan. We miss our anime so please help Naruto (see pix) and all his anime friends to come back to us. They have been away far too long! Thank you so much my friends. The Keiman is grateful for your support.

25. Release Blue Water High Series 3 on DVD

We need as many signatures as possible to get the ABC to release Blue Water High. Please get all your friends to sign this petition.

Blue Water High gained much success with the 1st & 2nd series and their release on DVD. Unfortunate things happened and they weren't going to make a third series, however with the public asking for more, they made a third series. Series 3 which was on TV in 2008 was really good, almost as good as the first season.

All of us who requested a third season need to join forces once more to get the ABC to release it on DVD, not just to complete our sets but also because it was really good.

We ideally need 1000 signatures to get the ABC to take us seriously and consider releasing Blue Water High Series 3 on DVD.

27. The Second Chance Campaign:

JUNE 9, 2007
TY IS BACK!
I just read a news article about Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that has probably brought a lot of relief to a lot of Ty Pennington fans who have been on pins and needles for the last month. There are now news articles online about the first makeover of the fifth season, which was recently done out west. The design team (Including Ty as team leader) completed the makeover successfully and the two-hour season premire will air in September.

This petition will be closed on Thursday, August 24th. I am not sending the signatures to ABC but I will be sending them to Ty himself, to show him that he had support throughout this ordeal. If you still want to show Ty your support, sign this petition and leave a comment, and I'll include it with the others. Signatures will be sent every four weeks.

U.S. TV star TY PENNINGTON insists it's his duty to keep on apologising for his drink-driving arrest earlier this month (May07), because he only now understands how his behaviour "affects everyone". He says, "It could jeopardise everything, including my job, which to me, is the greatest job in the world. I would never want to jeopardise that. "It made me realise how important every decision you make in your life is because it affects everyone, not just yourself. "I realised if you make a mistake, I think you ought to step up and admit that you did. I'm just that kind of a person. If you do something that you know you shouldn't have, stand up and accept it."

Ty Pennington, known as the quirky, creative carpenter from ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition has served as an excellent role mode for his viewers and his work inspires millions of viewers. He is considered a freedom fighter; not like the ones in the army or the ones fighting in Iraq, but the ones who fight right here in the United States.

They are the ones whose enemies are poverty, misfortune, and tragedy.
Whose uniforms include construction boots and tool belts.
Whose weapons are the tools and materials used to build new homes.
Whose medals are the expressions on the faces of the people they've helped.

Ty Pennington ans well as the rest of the design team, are the kind of fighters who stand up for the freedom of others to live the American Dream, which is to own a home where they can live happily with their families. They have stood together to defend that right for over 80 families across the nation on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for almost four years now, and they all want to keep doing it, especially Ty.

He defends this dream week after week, and has kept coming back for more for the past four years. He has stated that he wishes to be able to do this for a long while to come.

28. Bring "Double The Fist" Back To TV

May 14, 2006

There was a TV show on the ABC back in 2004 called "Double The Fist" with host Steve Foxx proving to ordinary Australians how to be "Fistworthy" every week.

Since the ABC took the show off air, The Comedy Channel have been replaying all of the episodes of both series on Saturday Night.

If The Comedy Channel can bring shows like this on at a suitable timeslot (like it has been for awhile now) and continue to support it, why don't they buy the show and bring Steve Foxx back on air for a refresh, new "Double The Fist" show to our screens?

30. Put Big Wolf on Campus On DVD

Big Wolf On Campus is about the trials, tribulations, and epic battles (so much for alliteration) of Tommy Dawkins, a popular football player who undergoes some unexpected changes after being bitten by a werewolf a few days before his senior year of high school, and his friends, Gothic Fantasy Guild president Merton Dingle and adventure-hungry kickboxer Lori Baxter.

The series aired on BBC2 in Great Britain on Sunday mornings. Big Wolf aired on YTV in Canada. A French-dubbed version of the series titled Le Loup Garou du Campus aired in Quebec on VRAK TV weekdays. Australian viewers could catch Big Wolf on Fox Kids weekdays. ABC Family dropped Big Wolf from their schedule in mid-September 2002 .

It was a wonderful show and very cool. I loved it, as did many others. People everywhere are yearning for the series on DVD, all 65 episodes. Please help us get it on DVD!
