Stop Westboro Baptist Church Protests of Military Funerals

In a free country such as the United States, we are afforded many luxuries. One such luxury is the chance to exhibit free speech. The Westboro Baptist Church uses that powerful tool for evil. Complete and utter evil. Thanks to our laws, they are able to speak freely about anything they want, but it will be by our laws as well that we as a whole can combat them and drive them away for good.

Westboro Baptist Church is a church based out of Topeka, Kansas. It is comprised of the members of the Phelps family and their friends whose sole purpose seems to be causing as much pain and grief as they can on the part of the families whose funerals they picket. They line up and chant absurd messages at the families to whom their messages often have to connection. They've created signs that read such hateful messages as "God Sent The Shooter" in response to the shooting in Tucson, Arizona. There are other posters that read things like "Thank God for 9/11", "Thank God for IEDs" and "Thank God For Dead Soldiers". They refuse to let families grieve in peace.

Ignorance is our greatest crime as a race and the Westboro Baptist Church is one of the vilest perpetrators of those crimes. They picket funerals of honorable soldiers who died defending our country and the rights of innocent people in Iraq. They picket funerals of innocent men and women, whose only crime is being born not heterosexual. They mass-produce hate through their publishing company and market themselves as some kind of warped-Christian crusaders. Most of all, they do these things with no remorse or thought to whom it may cause pain to.

This petition was started with the intent of making anyone and everyone aware that this ignorance will not be tolerated. Sign this petition if you feel that the Westboro Baptist Church should be boycotted. With each signature, we grow stronger and stronger and will make a good case to the American public that ignorance of this kind will never be tolerated. This petition will be a testament to the good of man, fighting against the worst that man has to offer. For make no mistake- the Westboro Baptist Church is not a God-created or -endorsed church. Let it be known to all, that this church is and always will be a man-made abomination.
