In December 2008, Coldplay will be playing numerous gigs around the United Kingdom to promote their new album, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.
Tickets went on sale on 30th May 2008 and were largely sold out within 12 hours. Fans were dismayed to discover that standing was not permitted in any of the venues the band would be playing.
This petition calls for the allowance of standing room in order to achieve the desired gig atmosphere, which seating would prohibit.

We, the undersigned, call on the organisers of Coldplay's 2008 UK tour to offer standing space at all venues playing host to the band.
We believe that the atmosphere and general ambience of gigs are spoiled by the restrictive, formal notion of seating and desire the ability to stand when watching the band perform.
We are of the opinion that all-seated gigs will severely reduce the enjoyment value of the performance.
