Say No to Tasmanian MPs' Pay Rise
Petition published by Adrian Pickin on May 26, 2012
| 18 Signatures |
Target: Tasmanian Legislative Council
Region: Australia
Petition Background (Preamble):
With only a few parliamentary sitting days left before the pay increase automatically flows to state politicians, legislation to impose a cap has been stalled by a vote of the Legislative Council.
The idea that MPs could see a significant pay rise when Tasmanians are being urged to tighten their belts is simply not good enough

Petition:
We demand an immediate freeze on State MPs’ pay until at least the next State election.
At the very least we demand all MP pay rises be limited to no more than 2 per cent per year and it be linked to performance, it should not be automatic.
