Description/History:
In Australia, there exists a general ignorance about the Aboriginal resistance against colonial invasion. This ignorance is a huge contributing factor in the cultural disrespect which results in the shameful inequality of today's Australian population.

Pemulwuy’s (c.1750–1802) story is an inspirational narrative which permeates the malaise of Australia’s national identity/s. This heroic saga has been aptly depicted by such works as Eric Wilmot’s 1987 novel Pemulwuy: The Rainbow Warrior.

Petition:
We the undersigned pledge our vigorous support for the production of a feature film detailing the heroic life and times of the Aboriginal warrior Pemulwuy.

We explicitly call for all relevant financing bodies, organisations, peoples and capable parties to act immediately by contributing what is needed for the production of a heavily researched and culturally acceptable film about Pemulwuy. By these means, our intension is the improved wellbeing of all Australians and moreover, the very idea of 'australia' itself.

By signing this petition we recognise the essential need for this story of Pemulwuy to be produced within and by a culturally appropriate context.
