Petition Background (Preamble):
Hambleton District Council are planning to bring in parking charges for Thirsk, Northallerton and Bedale.
This will seriously damage the local economy of all three towns as visitors and shoppers will be pushed towards out of town shopping centres and the supermarkets at the expense of local traders.
It will also be an extra expense for those who have no option but to drive to work. And it will also encourage people to park on streets with out yellow lines posing a danger to pedestrians and blocking up roads.

We, the undersigned, wish for Hambleton District Council to withdraw their plan to introduce parking charges.
