Petition Background (Preamble):
Australian Television is currently bombarded with overseas content, especially from the USA.
The problems arising from this media saturation causes: -
*the loss of an Australian cultural identity,
* Legal confusion, as many Australians belive they have the same rights as US citizens especially when dealing with the law,
* sporadic employment for Australian actors, directors and film technicians who are forced overseas inorder to find work
* The loss of Australian intellectual wealth.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Federal Ministry of the Arts to support the Australian Film and Television Industry to ensure its growth and capacity to instil a solid Australian Cultural Identity.
