Kwame Kilpatrick, Mayor of Detroit, has been charged with 8 counts of obstruction of justice, perjury, and misconduct in office.
In a trial that cost Detroit $9, Kilpatrick settled out of court once it was revealed that the prosecuter had copies of text messages sent between Kilpatrick and his former chief of staff Christine Beatty, also accused of obstruction of justice and perjury.
Kilpatrick refuses to resign and is costing the city millions of dollars. A criminal investigation is underway. Kilpatrick is costing Detroit millions of dollars; he was in similar legal issues 3 years ago and promised to change; he lives in luxury while Detroit declines; he should resign, but since he will not, he should be impeached.
