Region: United Kingdom
Result:
Many Thanks for your support in signing this petition, alas it only attracted 35 signatures, which will not be enough to convince the Governing body that the local community don't want the school to convert to academy status
Petition Background (Preamble):
On 31st March Icknield High School in Luton began a consultation to convert to Academy status. This will take the school out of Local Authority control.
This will make the school undemocratic, and open to be sold to the highest bidder. Local Authorities, which have democratic structures, are best placed to run schools.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Governing Body of Icknield High School to say "No" to Academy status and stay within the Education Authority Structure.
