The Queensland State Government have undertaken to demolish numerous homes and buildings acquired under a recent $40 million property acquisition program at Springbrook Mountain in South East Queensland.

This demolition is occurring at a time when the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reports that over 200,000 Australians are on public housing waiting lists.

In lieu of their wilful destruction, it is appropriate that these homes should be saved and made available as public housing to Australian families who have lost their own homes due to financial hardship and other circumstances.

The Springbrook community is long established and well placed to support this initiative. Offering a host of facilities and infrastructure which include a local State Primary School, Secondary School bus service, Ambulance service, Rural Fire Brigade, general store, playground, Community Hall, National Park walks, campground and more in this truly wonderful place.
