Petition Background (Preamble):
The war in the Middle East is not only causing us innocent lives, but also causing us economic problems in our country. We must bring our troops home and take care of our own citizens.
Petition:
Since we have entered these wars it has been nothing but heartbreak and destruction for the American people. It seems these wars may be endless and we should leave now.
Families are losing loved ones on a daily basis and we continue to send our troops into the Middle East without thought or regard for the average citizen who is fighting these wars or praying for a loved one every night while their in one of these wars. While we are trying to rebuild the Middle East our very own country is in shambles. Take care of our own people before anyone else.
-Spent & Approved War-Spending - About $900 billion of US taxpayers' funds spent or approved for spending through Sept 2010.
-U.S. Troop Casualties - 4,683 US troops have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since the launch of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) on October 7, 2001 and Operation Iraqi Freedom, which began with the invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003.
