Petition Background (Preamble):
I am looking for help in amending the Michigan felony firearm law to exclude the finding of self defense with a legal ccw permit and legal weapon.
I have started a petition already, would like to have people read it and help close the loophole that swallowed my brother up for the next two years. He was attacked, legally defended himself, and although acquitted of all underlying felonies, was found guilty of felony firearm with legal weapon and permit.
He was innocent because of self defense and yet in prison for a felony, with no underlying felonies. It is ludicrous.
